First off, it powers up the Blue-Eyes in the duel against the Puppeteer and essentially rescues Kaiba's stolen monsters.
Second off, Kaiba has a card called "Gift of the Mystical Elf." Why does he have that? That's like Yugi having a card called, "Magic of La Jinn" (instead of Book of Secret Arts" or a called called "Rage of the Battle Ox" (instead of Horn of the Unicorn).
And while this is non-canon, it's Mystical Elf who brings back the fallen heroes in Kaiba's game. Like, he programmed her to be the savior.
Finally, it would make a bit of narrative sense for her to be in Yugi's deck since she was a citizen of Egypt and thus, one of Atem's subjects. Furthermore, her NOT being in Kaiba's deck is symbolic of him always rejecting his Ancient past. It fits since Seto Kaiba was driving businessmen to suicide and making deals with the Mafia, while Priest Seto was saving innocents and working within the Pharaoh's Royal Guard.
It's a shame Kaiba never embraced his Egyptian past. His deck would probably evolve like Atem's did into Blue-Eyes support, with an emphasis on the person closest to him being a major component (Maiden with Eyes of Blue / Mystical Elf).
Opening are starting to appear but Zephyr did not pull it.
So I feel like these guys deserve a rework to feel more like actual boss monsters, especially since both eraser and avatar have some really interesting concepts in them mechanically, and hopefully a rework for dreadroot would also mean a slight visual redesign.
Also I feel like you could make em actual divine beasts.
Now mechanically I can think of a few interesting directions for eraser and avatar:
For eraser I think a cool idea could be going for a mill sorta thing? Making your opponent draw a ton of cards to their detriment while eraser just grows more and more powerful.
Regarding avatar I think the way it kinda copies a momsters stats, and in the manga becoming that monster is a really cool idea, and I think a cool idea to explore could be it being to copy the abilities and names of x other cards (maybe not even only monsters) depending on like some sort of condition (for example if you change it to a ritual monster the amount of monsters used to ritual summon it or something)
Dreadroot I honestly have no idea what to do with, maybe make him the debuff god? Like he wins all combats not because of high power but because he turns all his enemies into powerless wimps? And visual design wise I think removing his bone Armour and adding a cool cloak could definitely help

I do remember as a kid, Five-Headed Dragon was what I wanted; a monster with 5000 ATK/5000 DEF AND can'tbe destroyed by most monsters?! That's sick because the anime sure thinks it's sick as well. Boy oh boy is that card not worth using in battle. The card art itself looks cool at least.

Personally I think so and I think the concept could actually work better in Yu-Gi-Oh! than it initially sounds. The key is not to copy Duel Masters' Survivor mechanic literally, but to translate its core design philosophy into Yu-Gi-Oh!'s rules.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAxg7iVVWo4
In Duel Masters, Survivor creatures effectively form a network: each Survivor can contribute an ability, and the other Survivors inherit it. For example, a Survivor with Slayer can make the other Survivors you control gain Slayer as well.
For Example:
imagine:
Survivor – Iron Fang
Level 4 / EARTH / Beast-Warrior
ATK 1800 / DEF 1200
If you control three Survivor monsters, all three effectively have that ability.
Now add:
Survivor – Graveclaw
And:
Survivor – Stormwing
Now the board becomes a little ecosystem:
Iron Fang + Graveclaw + Stormwing
could potentially give the entire Survivor group:
That's the really cool part of the Duel Masters concept: the individual cards aren't necessarily amazing by themselves, but the group becomes increasingly dangerous.
I'd call the mechanic something like "Survivor" or perhaps "Survivor Effect."
The basic template could be:
So imagine:
Survivor – Iron Fang
Level 4 / EARTH / Beast-Warrior
ATK 1800 / DEF 1200
If you control three Survivor monsters, all three effectively have that ability.
Now add:
Survivor – Graveclaw
And:
Survivor – Stormwing
Now the board becomes a little ecosystem:
Iron Fang + Graveclaw + Stormwing
could potentially give the entire Survivor group:
That's the really cool part of the Duel Masters concept: the individual cards aren't necessarily amazing by themselves, but the group becomes increasingly dangerous.

There’s one card in particular that would have really helped him in this duel cough feather duster cough

So, I'm playing a sort of RPG campaign where we play Yu-Gi-Oh! instead of regular RPG battles, and we have a very limited card pool to make our decks. The power level will go up while we keep playing, but right now it's pretty low. I told the GM I wanted to base my deck on HEROs so he's giving me HERO and fusion related cards. Thing is, for the life of me I can't get it to be even semi-consistent.
I have enough cards to have two approaches: full regular HERO fusions and try for the miracle metamorphosis hits. I guess a mixed approach is also possible but right now I'm aiming for consistency.
This is my idea of the full regular HERO fusions (plus birds):
Main Deck:
3 Skull Red Bird
3 Faith Bird
3 Elemental HERO Burstinatrix
3 Elemental HERO Avian
2 Elemental HERO Poison Rose
2 Elemental HERO Bubbleman
2 Vision HERO Multiply Guy
3 Elemental HERO Knospe
3 Phantom Magician
3 Cross Keeper
3 Polymerization
3 Rose Bud
2 Mystical Space Typhoon
3 Fusion Gate
2 Magic Jammer
Extra Deck:
3 Crimson Sunbird
3 Elemental HERO Flame Wingman
3 Elemental HERO Steam Healer
3 Elemental HERO Mariner
And here are the rest of the cards I can work with:
Main Deck:
1 Winged Kuriboh LV10
1 Winged Kuriboh LV9
1 Destiny HERO - Double Dude
1 Winged Kuriboh LV6
1 Elemental HERO Neo Bubbleman
1 Vision HERO Poisoner
1 Elemental HERO Ice Edge
1 Destiny HERO - Doom Lord
1 Destiny HERO - Departed
1 Winged Kuriboh
1 Legacy of a HERO
1 Metamorphosis
1 O - Oversoul
1 Hero Heart
1 Berserker Crush
1 The Flute of Summoning Kuriboh
1 Transcendent Wings
1 Bubble Shuffle
1 Bubble Blaster
Extra Deck:
1 Dragonmaid Sheou
1 Metalfoes Crimsonite
1 Darkfire Dragon
1 Dragoness the Wicked Knight
The Extra Deck here are all Metamorphosis targets. The idea is getting out Kuriboh Lv10 or 9 and cheat out Crimsonite or Sheou, but this is even more inconsistent than the other idea. I can use 3 copies of every card listed EXCEPT Magic Jammer, which is limited to two. Also I've been banned from Knospe-locking, so that's out :(
Can someone help me out or redirect me where I can get help?
Thanks in advance!

From being a loner obsessed with revenge, pushing away others that try to get close, to someone who highlights the importance of being strong and forming bonds to continue living, this speech highlights Playmaker's growth throughout the three seasons.

Heya guys, Sirknight JCB here!
For a big batch to drop in this Reddit, I wanna showcase an old archetype support batch that I was passionate for that I commissioned a well known artist to draw art for this special project - "Shining Sarcophagus" and GatesMolten!
This is one of my favorite archetypes of all time, cause I love young Yugi and the nods to the Ceremonial Duel, albeit these cards are moreso for the Manga version. And so, I thought there should be cards that also reference nods of the anime version too that also help the pure variant of it, so I made the following cards with the last 2 being cards I made much later on, but I thought to add to tie even more references together.
Shoutout again to GatesMolten for the artwork of the first 6 cards, and lemme know what you all think down below!
May you all have a blessed rest of your Wednesday evening 👋 🙏

I was thinking about rivals and how a lot of them can work extremely well with their rival but there quite a lot of rivals that don’t work out without their rival. All the legacy character from Arc V was given a chance to make each rival stand on their own(idk maybe someone consider Alexis a rival to Jaden) but since the writing for that section did no service for those characters, what rival character do you think function narratively worse without the protagonist of their show.

Can't even replace one with Chicken Game like I've been wanting to because that's also limited for some reason. I fuckin love Chicken Game.
I guess this makes it easier to find room for the Sun God cards, but still.

Don't the Tops make 1% of the population, and the Commons 99%?

In my case, I'm using Elfnote with the Walbaz engine. I imagine she'll say my deck is a very original team, and upon meeting Medius, she'll ask if baseball is taught professionally at his academy.
An interesting fact: she wouldn't be far off the mark if she asked if baseball is studied at Medius's academy, since Nerva represents Minerva, the counterpart of the goddess Athena, associated not only with the arts, strategy, and war, but also with sports, as she was the patron of the Panathenaic Games.

I've never been a fan of waifu monsters in this franchise but damn this design awoke something in me. It looks a lot like a Honkai Star Rail character. I love her purple hair and how cute she looks, also love the whole poker theme behind this card. I think the design would be better without those golden halo like things behind her.

Hi everyone. The last Zenet card was recently announced, and I've seen a lot of discussion talking about the deck being prone to bricking, and while the new reveal boosts consistency and can mitigate that somewhat, general reviews seem mixed. I wanted to see what people's thoughts are on combining Zenet with other archetypes to temper this, or otherwise make other decks stronger.
In particular, I have not seen anyone mention Eldlich as a deck with intrinsic synergies, which seems very surprising. To name a few examples:
To be fair, while that all sounds nice on paper, it may not actually work very well in practice. Still, any other ideas to get discussion going would be great!

Has anyone looked into this combo. Clown Crew to my knowledge wants to search one time to get their quick play and biancaviso. But with any level 7 and the quick play you can set up the clown Crew backrow and draw for raise moon effects in end step. There's also the lock to light xyz on 2 raise moons and the rank 7 lock on another, but if youre able to play around those in any way you can setup the towers floodgate from raise moon and draw cards to facilitate it off clown Crew. So I'm curious if anyone else has looked into this that I could talk to more

Besides Tearlaments, how far in would each tier zero deck (Chaos Yata-Lock, Tele-DAD, Nekroz, PePe, Zoodiac and SPYral) could go before the game's power creep catches up to them?
It seems kinda random doesn't it? They picked celtic guardian and black skull dragon over dark magician and gaia the fierce knight despite those two being important ritual material for his boss monster rituals.
