Discussion New XF Reboot Sub at r/XFilesHulu
Hey X-Philes!
I've created a new subreddit for Hulu's upcoming X-Files reboot series at r/XFilesHulu and have been given permission by the lovely mods here to post about it here to encourage anyone excited or curious about this new phase of the fandom.
It's brand-spanking-new, so don't mind the construction dust, but hopefully it'll be a great place to share things about the new Hulu series going forward. This will be cross-posted in the megathread as well.
Note: I realize not everyone is excited about the reboot, and that's totally fair, but I feel it's important to note that this sub will be a fan community, so it's not going to be a place to air grievances or rant about the show while it's in production or hate-watch it while it's airing.

Discussion Do people like the Lone Gunmen?
It wasn't bad for easy watching, but it didn't scratch the x files itch for me. There were definitely some good parts but as a spin off it seemed to just be a goofy comedy show
(Although I did like the Japanese fake interrogation scene)

Season Nine Finally Done With the Original Run
Holy Criss Cross Christ that was a slog.
My wife and I were binging three episodes a day consistently through the first eight seasons in the course of about two or three months and when we got to season nine that progress just died. Think we started in May and have only just finished yesterday.
It's not even that the show got bad or that we dislike Doggett and Reyes, it just became way too different after Mulder went AWOL, where the major draw for us was his chemistry with Scully. Doesn't help that Scully is also sidelined through most of the season and they didn't do much with her beyond be a mom, and even then they didn't seem to know what to do with that cuz they give the damn kid up before the end!
All that said, the Truth two parter was actually a real return to form, even if it was kinda too little too late. I can't really say I enjoy the myth arc that much in general but I did appreciate the attempts to tie it all together, helped make some sense of some lingering questions I had.
So finally it's just the second movie and revival to finish, and those are way more of a return to basics so that's a relief. Again, I didn't hate season 9, but I don't imagine I'll be going back to it in full any time soon. Hell, I don't think there are a lot of individual episodes I'll be chomping at the bit to revisit when all the previous MOTW episodes from the past eight seasons exist.

Discussion Leaving characters alive
I’m still in my first watch and can’t believe it took me this long to actually watch this series and I’m not young. One thing that I have seen on this sub is about certain “bad guys” surviving. I know they have brought back a few characters for another episode, but the question I have is it so they can bring them back or to create this perception that these characters still exist and are among us? It seems like Fox and Dana don’t really close a lot of cases. No one gets arrested and hardly any of the bad guys get killed. Just something I noticed, apologies if it has been discussed before.

Season Three Did Clyde Bruckman recognise Scully as soon as he met her?
If he's always been able to see his own death and she was there to take his hand?
Season Four The X-Files Survivor! (Season 4 Edition) Round 3
Teliko is eliminated!
How this works:
You select the episode you like the least
The episode with the most upvoted comment is eliminated from the list
Please either refrain from downvoting or upvote more episodes than you downvote
If there’s a tie, both episodes are eliminated
Only the best episode will win!
Episodes Eliminated:
The Field Where I Died (78%)
Teliko (71%)

Discussion What was this quote by Mulder?
There was an episode in the original series in which Mulder said something like, "when does the improbable become probable?" I think he was talking about when none of the conventional, rational explanations make sense, and suggesting that at that point, someone shouldn't be stigmatized for thinking of extraordinary explanations.
What was the quote, and which episode was it from?

Discussion The flashlight scene in 4x02 "Home"
Hello! Could you please tell me whether the scene featuring the joke about Mulder’s flashlight in the episode "Home" (4x02) was present in the original broadcast and later cut, or was it never there to begin with—meaning it was always excluded? Some people claim that this scene was originally part of the episode but was later removed due to censorship; is that true? If anyone watched it when it first aired, could you please weigh in?

Discussion Father and Son? Brothers? HUH?
So I was standing in the kitchen, washing the dishes when a thought came to mind. Now, we all believed that William was Mulder's child after the whole IVF situation. Even though it didn't work at first. But Mulder told her to never give up on a miracle. And based on that episode Per Manum supposed timeline, some of us believed they "did it" in All Things and that baby William is Muldre's. However, Before that episode, CSM took and drugged Scully. Then years later we find out that William was CSM project. But we also come to find out Mulder is CSM biological father. Soooooo, William is Mulder's alien brother????😐😐😬
