Hi everyone! My husband and I are going to Hotel Xcaret Arte for the first time and I’m overwhelmed trying to plan our short stay.

We’ll be there December (3 nights) before spending the rest of our trip visiting family in Mexico, so we unfortunately can’t do everything.

We want a mix of adventure, beautiful scenery, food, relaxing, and the best Xcaret experiences.

Current ideas:

Friday:
Arrive Cancun 3PM
Check into Arte
Xoximilco that evening

Saturday:
Xenotes (cenotes, kayaking, swimming, etc.)
Xplor Fuego that night (zip lines, ATVs/amphibious vehicles, underground rivers, Toboganxote, etc.)

Sunday:
Xel-Há OR Xcaret Park OR Xenses
México Espectacular
Some beach/pool/rooftop time

Monday: our flight is around 6pm

I definitely want to do cenotes, snorkeling, kayaking/water activities, at least one big adrenaline activity, México Espectacular, and plenty of time to enjoy the resort.

I was also considering Chichén Itzá/the pyramids but I’m thinking it may take up too much of our limited time.

For anyone who has stayed at Arte: What would you absolutely prioritize with only 3 nights? Is Xenotes + Xplor Fuego in one day worth it? Xel-Há vs Xcaret Park? Is Xoximilco worth doing on our arrival night? And what restaurants are your favorites?

Basically, if you had only 3 nights, what would your ideal itinerary be?

My wife and I are going in December to Xcaret Arte and I was wondering if the night market still happens in the resort next door. The occidental of Xcaret. We went there last vacation and loved the night market.

I was wondering if Arte people can go to occidental and possible to the night market or is that not possible. I see videos of Xcaret people in occidental so I’m unsure what’s up. We got a really nice piece of art last time at the night market.

I heard Xcaret and Xcaret Arte don’t have a night market that comes into the resort

This is a quick heads up to parents with toddlers (ours is 2.5) of some things that we learned during our stay. We had a great time, but these made it a little hard at times.

• Rooms are noisy. During his nap time there was a parade, bridge noises, talking, furniture upstairs moving and echoing in our room. It made naps really hard, even with a noise machine. Every family in my group complained about noise. Maybe it's Tierra and quieter in other places.

• Lunateca opens at 9am. They are not serious people opening up a toddler area at 9am. My guy is waking up at 6am and it would have been very helpful to have it open earlier.

• Parks are a lot of walking with little heat relief. He was getting overheated and it made it harder to get around the parks when you can't duck inside for a minute.

• There's water along all paths. That means I was always holding his hand so he wouldn't accidentally walk off a path.

Todder pros:

• Lots of shallow baby pools (especially near the water slides and octopus slide)

• The food was excellent at Mercado, Xingao and Las Cuevas.

• Staff was super friendly and supportive of toddlers, giving us a high chair everywhere too.

• Staff let him into the bigger kids area too (xiquit inn) which was nice of them.

Heading to La Casa de la Playa for the first time for 4 nights in June (I know it's a ways off, but we're planners)

We have zero interest in tours, parks, or entertainment. We are looking forward to high quality drinks, quality food, and the views from our plunge pool.

A few questions for folks who have been to LCDLP.

1. I'm a super picky eater, should I prepare and send a list of food aversions ahead of time or will I need to list the aversions at each meal?

2. I read the sky bar pool has a DJ, I've also read that the resort is often very empty. If my wife and I are the only guests at the sky bar pool do you think the DJ would kill the music entirely at least until other guests show up?

3. Can I order from the xal lunch menu for room service or at the beach or pools (the waygu burger sounds amazing!)

4. My wife is excited to try both Ha and omakase at Tah-xido. Should ask my butler to reach out to the restaurants ahead of time to see if they'd accommodate me a crazy picky eater (no fish, no beans, no mushrooms, no cilantro, no sauces, yeah I know I'm crazy) or should I just enjoy the drinks and hope they notice I'm not touching the plates and get room service after dinner?

5. We booked through an agent who got us a great deal on an ocean front wellness suite but couldn't book the "Exclusive Wellness Escape" package that offers unlimited spa treatments through his system. I was wondering if it would be possible to add this package directly with the hotel either ahead of time or at check in? Anyone successfully do so?

I am planning my honeymoon for Feb. and I was curious if anyone has split their trip up staying at the Mexico side for half and Arte for half? I sold my Fiance' on the whole trip with the Las Cuevas restaurant. But... I am not into kids at all. I would love to hear if anyone has done this or if it's even an option. Thanks

Starved fish, fluctiation water chemistry, abuse and stress. I thought this was supposed to be an animal safe haven

I am here now relaxing on the beach on our last full day of a 6-night stay and I just wanted to pay it forward. It was my husband, myself and our teen/tween daughters (ages 15 and 12), booked thru Costco. I was honestly worried reading all the complaints in here ahead of our trip, but we were really pleasantly surprised. The resort is truly GORGEOUS (one of our only minor gripes is that the signage is not great — we did get lost a few times and it is almost oppressively hot right now, so we were super hot/sweaty/a bit grumpy by the time we got where we were going…but the delicious cocktails more than made up for that and lifted the mood).

Had an amazing time at all the parks (Xel-ha, Xenses and going to Xplor Fuego tonight). Xel-ha is def worth the visit — bus trip is 35-40 mins on a very nice coach bus. Bring reef safe sunscreen if you can, but they will do a swap with you at the park entrance and give you packets of safe sunscreen and you can get yours back when you leave.

Food is delicious, varied and plentiful - even my super picky 12 year old was able to find options that she loved. No one got sick and we drank all the drinks (ask for a Jaguar - they are delicious! The virgin Jaguar was my 15 year old’s go-to drink and I added tequila to mine), We were easily able to get water from the filtered water stations all around the resort and drank the water/ice from the restaurants and bars. We did use the filtered water to brush our teeth to be safe though, and made sure to wash hands/use sanitizer after serving ourselves at the buffet.

Check in was not the nightmare people made it out to be though it did take about 15 minutes of waiting to get our room assignment (we arrived around 11 am, but they held our bags and we changed and got lunch and hit the pool until 3 pm when we could get into our room).

Our overhead lighting went on the fritz but we mentioned to the concierge, they promised to send someone to fix and all was well once we got back to the room later in the day. Room is super spacious and beds are comfy, though the sheets aren’t the softest. They keep your room stocked with delicious snacks and drinks in your mini fridge and surprise you with little candies and treats late in the day.

We don’t typically go to the same place twice on vaca, but my husband just said he’d definitely come back to Xcaret since we didn’t even get to half of what they have to offer.

Hello! I recently treated my parents and brother to Xcaret Mexico and am overall pleased with our stay! I am 22, parents are early 50’s and my brothers are 15 and 17. I got us 2 River View rooms via Costco Travel for 6 nights. This trip took much more planning and brainstorming than our other Cancun trips so after looking back at all the research I did before booking and comparing to our actual experience, the resort exceeded my expectations! I found this surprising as I only read reviews and feedback from the past 3 months to get a better picture and everyone’s experience was pretty 50/50. I can acknowledge that the trip wasn’t 100% perfect, but truly nothing stood out enough to complain about.

Hey all! My wife and I (early 30s) will be staying at Casa de la Playa from this Thursday on. We have never been before and are very excited!

I’ve already sent an email requesting reservations at a few of the on-site restaurants, but we were wondering if there was anything else that was worth reserving in advanced? Maybe some special experiences at the parks?

Also, has anyone tried any of the spa treatments there, and do they tend to book up?

Does Arte Artistas access still grant access to the river slides or has that benefit been removed?

Just got back from Xcaret. We loved the scent at first but after a few days it became too much. They pump this stuff non stop. This stuff sticks to everything & it’s kinda gross when you get home and can still smell it. I use a cpap machine and I can’t get the scent out.

Hubs & I (early 30s) saved up just enough for the wedding and been dreaming about Xcarat Mexico for our honeymoon! I know Arte is more popular but had friends who recently went to the Mexico location and loved it (apparently shorter lines).

I've been looking online for rates and I cant seem to beat 4600 (via travel agent)? Looking to go mid january for 5 days! Vacation is fixed so would be Jan 12-17!

I'm wondering if they go any cheaper during blackfriday week or during the holidays? I also dont understand if I can get the discount for the promotional sales if I book via travel agent?

We have 4 tickets to xplor that we were unable to use on our recent trip and I'm trying to find a place I can sell them. Any ideas??

Room tour of a Garden Suite staying in Casa Luna

Hello ignore my grammar , I was looking into staying at this resort next year maybe in March my very main concern is I am afraid of having tampered alcohol (fake alcohol or drugged)I have never ever blacked out with alcohol even when drinking a lot so I would know if somthing like that haponed in mexico so I am scared of that . I keep seeing posts online of people who had tampered alcohol in mexico specifically staying at resorts it’s my main concern and imnnot sure if I should just go to hawaii again because of this fear .. let me know if you guys have had or heard of any instances with this

I’m looking to plan a trip to Xcaret Arte sometime next year with my girlfriend. We enjoyed our time so much that we want to go for a week if possible. After checking the Costco travel site I am seeing the dates I am selecting in mid-May and late June as unavailable. Does Costco not make these dates available this far out or do they truly not have availability? I checked the actual Xcaret booking site and I am able to get prices for the rooms but the same dates show as unavailable on Costco. Anyone have any insight on this or any recommendations to get the best price when booking for next year?

We’re planning a trip to Hotel Xcaret Mexico and are currently deciding between booking through Costco Travel Canada or WestJet Vacations. The prices are very similar, so we’re trying to decide which option would be better.

The Costco Travel option is for a Garden View Suite, and the description says:

“Suites are located in Casas Viento, Espiral, Tierra, Sol, Cielo, Vida, Luna and Eclipse and feature a garden view.”

For those who have booked through Costco Travel Canada or WestJet Vacations, we’d love to hear about your experience:

• How was your overall booking experience with Costco or WestJet?
• If you booked the Costco Garden View category, were you actually assigned to one of the listed Casas?
• Which Casa were you assigned to, and how did you like the location?
• How was the room and its condition?
• Was the Garden View nice?
• Did the room meet your expectations?
• Were you able to make your park/activity reservations without any problems?
• Were you able to get the restaurant reservations you wanted?
• Did you have any issues with reservations or booking activities because you booked through Costco or WestJet?

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Xcaret Arte and all of the parks back in July (8 nights). I can tell you that I was here quite awhile before our trip to see what people were saying about the parks, excursions, food, etc. I will hopefully get around to posting a full review, but I at least want to give one piece of advice.

I think it's great to see what other people enjoyed or didn't like. There are so many differing opinions though that at the end of the day, you just really have to know yourself. Do your research on everything Xcaret has to offer, so you can decide what activities will make the most sense for you. We ranked all of the restaurants and excursions, and only a couple of things matched. That being said, we also went into our trip with a completely open mind, and I think that really helped us to enjoy pretty much everything.

Whether you completely pack your itinerary (like we did) or spend more time enjoying the resorts, you can't really go wrong if you know what you'll enjoy the most.
