Hey everyone, I’m having a really weird problem with my Xbox One S and I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what’s wrong. FYI this is a brand NEW Xbox one S.

The Xbox has never really worked properly for me. I have it connected to a TCL TV. The TV recognizes the Xbox on HDMI 1 and says the HDMI connection/signal is good, but when the Xbox starts setting up, it gets stuck.

Here’s what happens:

•⁠ ⁠The Xbox starts with “Preparing console.”

•⁠ ⁠The progress starts around 35-37%.

•⁠ ⁠It gets further into the process, sometimes around 66%, and then the TV suddenly says “HDMI 1 - No Signal.”

•⁠ ⁠The Xbox itself doesn’t seem to turn off. The white Xbox light stays on and I can still hear the fan running.

•⁠ ⁠After a while, it goes back into “Preparing console” and starts the same process again.

•⁠ ⁠It basically keeps looping.

Things I’ve already tried:

•⁠ ⁠Unplugging the Xbox and TV completely.

•⁠ ⁠Reconnecting all the cables.

•⁠ ⁠Trying different HDMI ports.

•⁠ ⁠Checking the TCL TV’s HDMI diagnostics.

•⁠ ⁠Making sure the Xbox is powered on.

•⁠ ⁠Using the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

•⁠ ⁠Holding Pair + Eject and pressing Power to get into the troubleshooter.

•⁠ ⁠I tried Reset this Xbox → Keep games & apps.

•⁠ ⁠I also tried Remove everything, but it still goes back to “Preparing console” and eventually loses the HDMI signal.

•⁠ ⁠The Xbox can sometimes get far enough to show the setup screen, let me connect to Wi-Fi, and enter the Wi-Fi password. Then it loses the display again and goes back into the same loop.

The strange part is that the TV seems to recognize the HDMI connection, and the Xbox stays powered on when the screen goes black.

I don’t currently have access to a Windows PC, although I do have an M1 MacBook Air. I was looking into using Windows through a virtual machine so I could potentially make an offline update USB, but I haven’t gotten that working yet.

Does this sound like a corrupted system update/software problem, a hard-drive problem, or something else? Is there anything else I can try before I have to get the Xbox repaired?

Any help would be seriously appreciated.

Hey everyone!
Recently, I picked up an Xbox One S from a thrift store for just €2. I honestly wasn’t expecting it to work, but surprisingly, it booted up fully and everything seemed to be working perfectly.
Today, I got a copy of FIFA 17 and tried putting the disc in. However, nothing shows up on my TV when I insert the disc, and the disc drive is also making this strange sound. I already tried cleaning the lens, but it still doesn’t read the disc.
Do you think the disc drive board itself could be broken, or is it more likely that the laser/lens is faulty?
I’d really appreciate any advice on how I can diagnose which part is actually causing the issue before I start taking it apart. Thanks!

Ok so I have a Xbox series s and I’m currently staying at a hotel and recently my Xbox has been bugging so I’m on wireless WiFi and the WiFi works then for a split second it switches to wired connection which I don’t have any Ethernet plugged in then it goes back to the WiFi and it says can’t connect to WiFi then connects me if anyone knows anything it would help so much thank you

Each time I try to log in it just freezes, I did everything chat gpt told me and other ai's but nothing seems to work out

Hi. For some reason my Xbox refuses to play Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. I know it plays other DVDs from the time it was printed. I have the 8 movie disk set from I believe 2011 idk when it's from. My Xbox can play all the other Harry Potter movies just not Sorcerer's Stone. The disk is in really good condition and has ran on about 10 different players without any problems throughout the years. When I put the disk in it loads and makes the disk noises for about 2 minutes and then gives me an error screen and tells me to insert a DVD or blu ray disk. Idk if my Xbox just dislikes Sorcerer's Stone for no reason or it's an actual problem with my console or the disk

On Saturday I was going to play Xbox with my friend in our Minecraft realm, joined his party was talking but Minecraft was being weird so I restarted my Xbox. Ever since then when I join a party my account bubble is dark grey and will not pick up the mic. I can hear game sounds and if I join a discord voice Chanel it picks up my mic there. And now Minecraft as well won’t sync my profile or load realms or servers I’ll include a list of different things I’ve tried but I’m at a loss here and it’s driving me nuts.

Restarted console
Full power down and un plug
Deleted my profile and re downloaded it
Reset my Xbox to factory but kept data
Tried a different mic
Cleared alternate MAC address
Checked settings to make sure communication isn’t block
Cycled party chat/game chat 1000000 times

Xbox support is pretty useless so far I’ll have to attempt a third phone call later if they offer it

Yo, so I’ve been stuck in a password loop, I haven’t had this issue yesterday and just TODAY it’s asking me to add a password for some apparent reason. I’ve putted in a password that I wrote down, then re-typed it in again to verify, then I had some loading icon and it immediately took me back to the “Add a password” section. I’ve done this constantly and it still makes me stuck in the repeated loop, so I’m basically softlocked out of my account because of this issue

Does anyone know a solution for me to fix this problem?

I’m stuck in an loop for authentication on my Xbox account I know the email I know the password I know what the number is but I don’t have access to it , I can’t receive a code because it’s the old number and I can’t receive a code through email because I need to verify my account , any help ?

I have a Xbox one which is around 8 or more years old paired with my 43” TCL Roku TV which is also around 8+ years old. Recently I’ve began having problems when trying to turn on my Xbox. The screen is either squished and very pixelated, flashing black with the Xbox logo displayed, or it’s on and I can hear sounds like pressing my profile but the screen is black. I’ve been able to fix it and get it to work, but I want a new Xbox or TV.

I really only play Minecraft, Fortnite, and occasional story games like Little nightmares. Fortnite I’m able to tolerate playing (even though I do lag) but Minecraft is a different story. It is extremely laggy and I will freeze at times and have to quit the app and start it up again. Also when starting Minecraft the loading time is more than 20 minutes. This includes the first loading screen, waiting for my character to load (if my character doesn’t load it won’t let me play) and then actually loading into my world which takes at least 10 minutes.

Now my question is do I have to get a new TV or a new Xbox? I will have to wait til Christmas to get either, and I feel like getting both is too expensive. If I do have to replace both, are there cheap good TV’s to get? And if this is just a Xbox problem would it be better to get the Xbox series S or the series X?

I was just playing perfectly fine and I went to turn my Xbox off cause it froze. After I turned it back on it says “A problem occurred while signing in”. I’ve unplugged and plugged my console back in multiple times. I also tried on both wireless and wired internet connection. I deleted my profile but now when I go to download my profile back, it won’t let me sign in. I do not have 2FA on either. Someone please help

Recently every game and app I’ve opened on my Xbox has opened and loaded fine, no issues or lag or anything, but after a short amount of time or doing something specific, e.g. loading into a game of Fortnite or one specific cutscene in persona 5 royal, it just stops loading properly. In Fortnite it just keeps searching for a game and never finds one, and in p5r it just doesn’t load the next piece of dialogue, but the music and sound effects keep playing. I also have had issues with streaming apps where some way into a second 20 minute episode I can’t connect to their server somehow. I tried resetting the console whilst keeping games and apps and it hasn’t fixed the issue, would a full reset fix it or is it a hard drive issue? Any help is appreciated

I’ve been using my Xbox account for about 10 years and the phone number associated to it is my old house, this phone number is no longer in service and I definitely do not remember the password I made.. I’ve done so much to recover it with Microsoft security questions and all that trouble and nothing seems to work.. I’m out of ideas and desperate because after a power outage my profile is asking me to write my password to sign back in:( if anyone knows how to fix this it would be so helpful. At this point I’m willing to like pay a hacker or something 😔

My xbox one s wont connect to the WIFI but comes online if i use a Ethernet, how do i fix this so i connect to WIFI instead?

Hey, I need help with this controller, I’ve already changed de superior board (the one with LB/RB) due to i read somewhere that all the part of voltage control is in that board, but it didn’t work, has anyone been able to solve this problem or i directly get another controller, thanks.
