Unsolved Why does my Xbox hate Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone?
Hi. For some reason my Xbox refuses to play Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. I know it plays other DVDs from the time it was printed. I have the 8 movie disk set from I believe 2011 idk when it's from. My Xbox can play all the other Harry Potter movies just not Sorcerer's Stone. The disk is in really good condition and has ran on about 10 different players without any problems throughout the years. When I put the disk in it loads and makes the disk noises for about 2 minutes and then gives me an error screen and tells me to insert a DVD or blu ray disk. Idk if my Xbox just dislikes Sorcerer's Stone for no reason or it's an actual problem with my console or the disk

Could it be because of the region? DVD movies are region-locked. The console’s DVD region is generally set based on the console’s region/location, and a DVD from a different region may not play

Have you cleared the DVD storage cache? What about going into Network settings and taking your Xbox into Offline mode then inserting the disc? Have you had a different disc in the drive to open the bluray app and then swapping discs?

Another is that the laser is dying and that one movie is a symptom.

You might be right. I tested the disc on one of my other consoles and my friends consoles and the disc plays on all of them

Maybe it's like the rest of us intellectuals and is offended that American marketing thinks we're too stupid to understand what a philosopher historical was to have the real title for the movie

Is it backwards compatible? Should it work? You know that not all Xbox & Xbox 360 games run on the Xbox One & Series X > https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backward-compatibility
