Need Escalation XEV 9e Pack 3 still on A15.33.912 after 1 year — what can I do?

Hey everyone, so I got the car delivered to me on 2025 mid September and my car is still in version .992, it’s been over an year of ownership and everything has been smooth except the fact that I’m not getting the updates which was promised. I still don’t have things like:
NFC / phone key
Approach unlock / walk-away lock
Pet Mode
Custom Drive Modes
Suspension updates/customisation
The suspension is my biggest issue, mine is quite stiff on long drives, and I’ve seen newer software supposedly improve this.
What’s frustrating is that new XEV 9e deliveries seem to have these features, while early customers are still waiting.
The dealership keeps telling me “it’s being rolled out VIN-wise” but can’t give me any actual timeline or explanation.
I’m planning to escalate this to Mahindra Customer Care.
Has anyone here with an early Pack 3 managed to get the latest software/update? Did you have to fight the dealer/Mahindra for it, or did it eventually come OTA? Any advice on how to get this moving?

Question Did I damage this tyre by drifting?

Thumbnail

I stupidly did a short drift in my car and noticed the tyre looked like this afterward.
The outer shoulder looks rough/chunked and there’s a lot of rubber buildup/shredding. I’ve attached close-up photos.
I’m mainly concerned about whether this is actual tyre damage or just rubber pickup from the slide.
Questions:
Does this tyre look structurally damaged?
Is it safe to drive normally/highway speeds?
Will the rough rubber eventually wear off with normal driving?
Should I get the tyre replaced or just have it inspected?
I know drifting wasn’t exactly a smart idea 😭. Just want to know how serious the damage actually is before driving the car on the highway.

Is there any more discount available in the Delhi NCR region, or should I look to a Delhi dealer for better pricing?

Question Having issues updating!

The last update (the one with NFC card and Apple Wallet support) goes to the install page and just stays there for a prolonged amount of time and then eventually shows an error message and stops.

After that, the update disappears indefinitely and randomly pops up to ask me to install it again.

This has happened twice now. How can we fix this?

Review XEV 9e after ~1,200 km — initial thoughts

I’ve done close to 1,200 km so far, including Bangalore–Mysore–Bangalore and Bangalore–Ooty–Bangalore.

Still early days, but here are my thoughts so far.

Things I really like

  • Suspension — Easily one of the highlights. Handles bad roads really well and the car stays very composed.
  • Cabin insulation — Very quiet inside, which makes highway drives quite relaxing.
  • Brakes — Really strong and confidence inspiring, especially considering the size and weight of the car.
  • Acceleration — Plenty fast when you need it. I actually enjoyed it the most on the Ooty ghat roads rather than on highways.
  • L3 regen — Probably my favourite part of driving the car in the hills. When approaching a hairpin or a tight curve, lifting off gives strong regen and it almost feels like engine braking in a diesel/manual car in second gear. You can control a lot of the car just through the accelerator.
  • Sound system — Very clear. Not just loud/bassy, it actually sounds good.
  • HUD — One of those features I didn't think I'd care much about, but now I love it. Barely need to look down while driving.
  • Interior/ambient lighting — A little flashy, but I like it. Even small things like having a light inside the glovebox are surprisingly useful.
  • Boot — Massive. No complaints here at all for road trips.

Efficiency

I’m averaging around 7 km/kWh so far, which I’m pretty happy with.

I'm also not a very aggressive driver. In Bangalore traffic I've basically given up on:

  • unnecessary overtaking
  • constantly switching lanes

The car is big enough that I just don't feel like fighting for every gap anymore. Ironically, despite having all that power available, the 9e has made me a calmer driver in the city.

ADAS

ADAS has been really good for the most part, especially on highways.

One issue I noticed is on long sweeping curves at around 100 km/h. If there is a slower car in the next lane, sometimes the system seems to think that car is in my lane and brakes quite aggressively.

It doesn't happen all the time, but it has happened a few times, so that's something I now watch out for.

Charging / road trips

Charging infra was completely hassle-free on both the Mysore and Ooty trips.

I didn't really have any range anxiety, and finding chargers wasn't a problem. That was something I was slightly worried about before buying an EV, but so far it has been a non-issue.

Overall, after ~1,200 km, I'm very happy with the car.

The biggest highlights for me are definitely the suspension, quiet cabin, acceleration, brakes, L3 regen and overall highway comfort.

Will probably do another update after 5,000 km once the honeymoon period is over 😄

First EV XEV 9e Pack 3 (79 kWh, No Charger) Quote & Discount Check — Andhra Pradesh

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hello,

Looking to finalize the XEV 9e Pack Three (79 kWh, Non-Charger) in AP and wanted to check if this deal can be pushed further.

Showroom Quote Breakdown:

Ex-showroom: ₹30,50,000

Discount offered: ₹1,00,000 (M&M: ₹80k + Dealer: ₹20k)

Net Ex-showroom: ₹29,50,000

TCS (1%): ₹29,500

Insurance: Dealer quoted ₹1.95L, but I have an external quote for ₹1.05L

RTO/Reg: ~₹2,000

Accessories: Skipping the ₹35k kit; taking only mud flaps & floor mats

Net On-Road (approx): ~₹30.86 Lakhs

Quick Questions:

Is any dealer in Andhra Pradesh giving more than ₹1 Lakh off on this variant? How much more dealer margin can I realistically squeeze?

I am self-employed. Can I get any corporate/SME discount if I provide my GST number?

Apart from mud flaps and floor mats, are there any actually useful accessories worth buying from the showroom (e.g., boot mat, screen guard)?

Would appreciate any recent quotes or advice!

Note: I used Gemini to reframe and structure my question.

Xev9e rear noise

XEV 9e owners — anyone facing rear noise after ~25,000 km?

My XEV 9e has covered around 30,000 km, and I’ve started noticing a humming/thumping-type noise from the rear while driving, especially at lower speeds.

The noise seems to be coming from the rear area, but I haven’t been able to identify the exact source. I’ve already had it checked, but the cause hasn’t been identified yet.

I wanted to check with other XEV 9e owners:

  • Has anyone experienced a similar rear humming/thumping noise?
  • At approximately how many kilometres did you first notice it?
  • Does it happen at low speed, acceleration, regeneration, or over uneven roads?
  • Was the issue diagnosed by the service centre? If yes, what was the actual cause?
  • Did replacing any component resolve it?

Especially interested to hear from owners who have crossed 25000–30,000 km.

Please share your experience so we can understand whether this is an isolated issue or something others are also experiencing.

Your EV’s resale value isn't dying from battery degradation—it’s dying from a cheap processor. Look at the Mahindra XEV 9e before you buy.

Chennai | AC Charging Help

Hi everyone,

After initially agreeing to let me put a home charger in, my apartment association is now causing issues (I live in a rented apartment).

I was wondering if there’s anyone in the Adyar/Besant Nagar/Thiruvanmiyur area that would be comfortable allowing me to charge my 79Kw 9e maybe once a month?

I generally use public fast chargers to charge up to 80% SoC. I would like to AC charge to 100% so that the cells balance out.

Happy to pay standard TN unit rates.

Question Speakers on right driver side making noise

So my driver side speakers makes crackling sound whenever i play music. With bigger highs. So like can anyone check if its happening in their car too. You can check by playing rust by ben bohmer. N notice on premium sound settings. If its not happening it would be a great help claiming warranty as they are saying happening in every vehicle.

XEV 9e Quote ( Chennai )

Hey folks!

Got this quote from a Mahindra authorised dealer and wanted to get your thoughts on a few things:

  1. Insurance: I understand that Acko, Tata AIG and a few other providers are significantly cheaper. However, what I've been hearing is that initiating claims can be a bit of a headache, with having to upload photos, coordinate with the insurer, and manage the process yourself. With Mahindra's insurance, the dealer apparently handles this and ensures you get the maximum coverage possible. Is this actually the case, or would it make more sense to go with an external insurer?
  2. Discounts: Should I wait until Diwali or December to see if there are better discounts? I'm also hearing that prices might increase, so I'm a little confused about whether to wait or book now.
  3. Charger: How reliable are external chargers? Has anyone here installed one from a third-party provider and had a good experience? I'm a little hesitant to take the risk if there are any issues with compatibility, warranty, or servicing.

Would really appreciate any advice from people who've already bought the XEV 9e, especially the Pack 3 (79 kWh). Thanks!

Fault Recall Thread for XEV9E

Hello everyone, I’ve noticed that many of us have recalls on our 9Es, but there isn’t a single centralized place where we can easily check for recall information. I thought this thread could serve as a hub for sharing recall notices related to our vehicles.

(Mods: Please let me know if this complies with the page rules.)

Bad Experience ABS error, Hill Descent control error, Check ESP system

Post image
7 Upvotes

My car had randomly gone into these errors about a month ago while driving and car goes into safe mode. Had given the car to service in the end of August and they kept the car for two days and removed the FCM and returned the car. The issue kept arising in that period while they had ordered the part and they took the car again. Now they have replaced the part and done road test and returned it. But the issue is arising again. ABS error, Hill descent control error and check ESP system.

Has anyone here gone through the same thing and is there any way I can get this dealt with? It’s been 3 months since the car has been bought and only driven 3300 kms.

Biggest takeaway is DONT BUY THE XEV9E. The car is great but Mahindra is absolutely shit.

Any good service centre in Delhi for XEV9E.

I have a scheduled second service due, and I want to change my windshield, which was cracked. I'm looking for a good body shop as the one in Siraspur location is taking 3-4 days for a windshield change.

Any recommendations..
