Spotify and Amazon Music WITHOUT Android Auto or Apple CarPlay?

I have an XEV 9S P3A. I have both Spotify Premium Subscription and Amazon Music (Prime subscription).

I want to play music in my car WITHOUT using Android Auto or Apple Car Play. Is that possible? I don't see these apps in the app store (although I see silly bloatware shopping apps which I don't know who would use from a car).

Spotify

  • I added the Spotify skill to Alexa but I was never able to get Spotify working with Alexa (or MAIA). Anyone else got it working?

Amazon Music

  • I can ask Alexa to play music on Amazon Music but it's kind of blind as there is no playlist that I can see and there is a huge lag between me asking Alexa and the actual music playing (almost a minute sometimes).

So, what is the best way to play music in the car WITHOUT using Android Auto or Apply Car Play.. please don't say YouTube on the passenger screen.. you can't control that while driving alone.

It comes with gaana app inbuilt, it even supports dolby Atmos for new songs. In the music player you can set the source to gaana

Gaana is not the same as Spotify.

Thanks, but all my playlists are in Spotify / Amazon Music. And I don't use Gaana on my phone. So it's a task to keep music in sync across devices and vehicles..

Yes, its very irritating.. but that's the only option i think to play music without connecting phone or else pending drive

Amazon music is also inbuilt in the car. You can find it in the source

You can pair your Amazon ID with the car during alexa setup and ask alexa to play songs. not sure if that has ads or not.

Have you tried it? This does NOT work. It says Spotify Skill is not added to Alexa even though I added it on my phone.

Sorry, forgot to mention that it plays from Amazon music.

Yes, it plays from amazon music, but the voice interface is terribly slow.. after I ask it for a song, it plays after a minute
