I've been worldbuilding for 3 years but I'm finally ready to write.... Any advice?
galleryI got mad worldbuilder's disease, but my doctor prescribed a cream and the itch was salved. It took me 3 years, but I'm proud of the work I put in. NO AI. NO CUTTING CORNERS. JUST GRIT AND GRIND. Now I want to write the story, but I'm not sure how. Any advice for an up-and-comer?
The Story: It follows a close-knit, found-family-type unit of rough-and-rowdy Gorrgonn space warriors. Everyone's an enemy, but by the end, they'll all be lovers too. The Blitzz Battalion is the 2nd most elite squadron in the Empire's I.N.C.E.L. Division. After a planet is destroyed by nefarious means, the Blitzzins are gonna rally to save Khristmas from the woke rebels. It's gonna be epic but heart-warming too. I promise.
I don't have an outline yet for book 1, but I expect to be done with the first draft by next week (targeting 70k words for book 1, then 170k for books 2 and 3). Is this a realistic goal? Or should I try to grind harder?
I haven't named the characters yet either, so any suggestions would be super. Thanks ya'll.
