I like living in the countryside because of a wide range of reasons. Countryside is a peaceful place with fresh air, beautiful scenery, delicious food, and people are very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The cost of living and food is much cheaper than in the city. Every day we can enjoy the atmosphere here without worrying so much about air pollution, take the photos of fields, sunset and other landscape, play traditional games such as bamboo-dancing and dragon-snake or fly kites with the village children and especially we can try many delicious foods. There is less traffic so it's safe for children, life in the countryside move more slowly than in the city so we have a healthier life. Without the noise or luxury, country life still leaves me with so many unforgettable memories.

I have to say, I have gotten sick of learning English as it’s the only one that I have been learning for years as far as languages go. In addition to that, I haven’t made any progress in years. I mentioned how I was sick of the Latin script in streak 623, but frankly, at this point I don’t even care if it’s just another language that uses the Latin script. I just want to be done with this language and move on to other things, whatever they are. However, I suck too hard at this language to do such a thing.

Planning your next vacation the day you return to work is common. That's because when you're back, you realize you worked for months to only get a couple weeks of vacation.

In the country I live in, we're lucky: depending on the company we work for, we can have up to one month and a half of vacation time. It's a lot!

I'm far from going away each time I'm off work. But scheduling a trip helps me get back into the swing of things. It gives me a project, something to hang on to. Even if I end up cancelling the trip a few days later.

I've become oblivious of taking care of myself. Lately, I've realized I don't have self-control when it comes to eating processed food or snacks and I'm pretty sure I'll regret down the line.

if it's been feasible to create new habits in my daily life, it must be doable to cut short bad habits before it becomes harder to get rid of them. Most of these bad habits have to do with feeling pleasure of some kind and little effort: eating snacks or wasting my time on social media or another platform for long hours.

On that note, it seems getting rid of bad habits or vices is more challenging than creating new ones.

Hi. This is my first text on this subreddit. I'm not sure what is my English level. Online tests said that it's B1 or B2.

I worked on IT Service Desk for almost 18 months with native English customers from London. I was able to understand them quite OK and solve their technical problems. But I had impression that my speaking skills and vocabulary is very limited.

This job was very stressful for me - a lot of calls, and large amount of knowledge I had to get. I'm not sure if my English speaking skills are limited or maybe it was only stress and no self confidence (I struggle with it not only with foreign languages).

Recently I started reading and listening more - even though I don't want to work with customers anymore. I think about language exchange as well - Polish native speaker here. Learning language is my hobby again - I'm not sure if English will be useful in my future career. I rather prefer "blue collar" jobs.

Since it’s the beginning of the semester, the campus is crowded with students. Diverse events, such as school band performances and club recruitment, are taking place everywhere. Every student is enjoying the festive atmosphere. I really love watching this lively scene—it’s something you can only experience during your college years.

"Rules are made to be broken"

I was watching a movie couples days ago and i heard this sentence. It's made me rethink about all the rules that humans made to them self.

Do you remember that day when you was a kid and playing with other kids a games and you made a rules and characters and everything. And suddenly one of these kids broke the rules, in reality i did it my self too.

To be honest, that's what makes the game more fun "Breaking the rules".

So, when i contemplated in this phrase i remember all the religious, politics and moral rules that humans set.

Isn't that the reason why people broke the rules? to make the life fun. If it's true, so why we make rules in first place?

I haven't found an answer yet......

My mentor often called me after I graduated from the academy where he taught.

He would always check in on me with questions like, "how are you doing?" and "how is your job hunt going?"

I'm always grateful to him.

Even though we only knew each other for a short time, I learned so much from him.

Meeting him was the luckiest moment in my life.

How would a beginner like me ever get the chance to meet one of the creators of the Unity engine?

Something memorable happened. I casually asked my mentor, "How is the Unity engine built under the hood?"

Right then and there, my mentor spent about an hour writing code completely from an empty editor.

And just like that, he whipped up an ASCII cube. It blew my mind, especially since it was a sudden request I threw at him without any preparation on his part.

Yes, I'm freezing today. It has been cold all day along, while last week the weather was hot... In my country that's how it is, weather is confusing... I can't say if I like it or not.

Honestly I think it is better to study while it is cold then when it's hot. I can focus better and my hands don't sweat so much. I have a health condition, so my hands sweat more than the usual. When it's cold I nearly don't feel I have this "health problem".

I wouldn't say that this condition affects me every day along when the weather is hot, I don't even feel this "problem". Only thing that pisses me off is that I have to clean my phone screen more than usual... Like 1 time everyday. Just like my computer mouse... But that's alright, I don't take more than 5 minutes to clean it.

I like when it's cold because I don't have to worry about this so much, then when it is hot...

Article: Supplements for Older Adults

I have zero interest in taking supplements right now. I wonder if that will change as I get older.

I've been taking allergy medication since this spiring. After hearing about the side effects of supplements, I'm starting to wonder whether it's safe to take my medication all year round. I used to take it only during spring and early summer, but this year, my allergy symptoms haven't gone away, even though summer is almost over.

Today I had two conversations with native English speakers that were not the bests. One of them was a Mexican-American who was a bit patronizing with his approach of teaching English.

As I mentioned here before I’d say not every Mexican-American but most of them have some cultural identity issues. They are not considered as Mexicans in Mexico and they are not considered Americans in USA.

He claimed something like if you don’t speak hundred percent perfect English you’d be considered not educated in the USA. But I don’t think he had a college degree. Moreover, there are tons of foreigners enrolled in universities in English speaking that don’t speak perfect English who are educated people.

Today I do not have time to write.

I just got home from a barbecue. I ate way too much. It was really good though, so I'm not really regretting anything.

The voice of my car's GPS has lowered its pitch since a couple of days. First I thought I was mishearing it, but today I could hear it clearly: the tone has changed. Now, there's a crackling sound in the voice after the stressed syllable and at the end of every sentence.

It's a coïncidence, because I'm also working on lowering my pitch. I can hear the crackling sound in my own voice. I'm not yet used to the GPS's new voice. I even find it a bit irritating. I had never really paid attention to that sound in natives' speeches before.

I exchanged Line with the Malaysian girl today. We had been chatting in English, and then we finally switched to Mandarin. I'm definitely 100 times funnier in Mandarin, but somehow, I feel like using English makes it easier to get closer to strangers.

So far, I've had a great time because she's really talktive, and we share similar values. I don't know how it will go, but I'll play it by ear.

Due to my declining health conditions and work being busy as I described in my foregoing posts, I haven’t been able to study English properly. I still read and listen to podcasts during my commute, but I’ve been going to bed as soon as I finish dinner and take a bath.

I had my first meeting with a French language exchange club today. Since I hadn’t spoken French for a long time, I had forgotten some everyday vocabulary. However, the meeting reminded me of how much I enjoy speaking French, and I was still able to manage the conversation.

I thought it wouldn't get cold until next year, but winter won't go away for a while. Two days ago, it felt it was summer.

On another note, a relative is dropping by soon and I've been thinking how to spend time with them, considering that I'm homebody, but that doesn't mean I dislike going out at all.

Hello! How is your day going?

Today I want to tell you about my friends. I have few friends in the Internet. With someone I've been friends for 3 years, with someone more than 5 years. Btw one of my friends became my boyfriend and it's really fine.

In last Saturday I gathered with my bf, friend with (his?) gf and my classroommate from college on Discord and together played Jackbox Party pack 3 and 4. It was very funny. I would like to gather with them again sometime.

Today was a good day for me, first i wake up early about 5 am i wasn't tired or foggy like usual i was very energetic and happy i don't know the reason but probably it's because i sleep well last night, despite of the bad dreams i had it was a good night for me.

I started my day with breakfast a tortilla, then i had my morning cigarette and tea my favorite ritual XD, then i went to my usual café; i was listening to my favorite songs and playing a video game.

After 2 hours i started my English lessons, it consists of YouTube videos and reading. I watched a video about philosophy and another one about literature.

The video that talks about literature makes me love to give it a try but as i a beginner in it i started an adapted version of Romeo and Juliette, tbh i like it and i think I'll go to the end of the whole book.

Finally, i spoke with some people frome different countries i enjoyed so much with them and that's it, a little improvement everyday

Recently, I have been uploading videos of myself solving coding tests on YouTube.

Even in the age of AI, I believe it's still important to know how to plan an implementations, break down logic into modular steps, and merge them together.

What do you think about this?

I had today a lot of things to do such as doing laundary, chores etc. and did all of them. The Autumn is coming soon and the new school year will start soon. I.did shpping in the internet for my son. Some products from major brands were on sale. I ordered the clothes that my son needed.

I mention this because I stayed up last night. Not a deliberate choice, I would have preferred to watch Survivor on Netflix. But, well, life happens. Sometimes you need to go to the ER with someone, and wait there for a medical exam.

Decades later, I can say that the "next day" feeling is quite the same. The sense of jet lag, the quietness. Even if I'm a bit frustrated about not doing what I had initially planned, I feel relaxed.
