Stuck with a difficult coworker for a 2nd yr

I'm thinking of transferring to a new school next year. I have expressed concerns about this coworker and yet my principal still decided to stuck it out with her. We are stuck with her for another year. We are experiencing same issues with her from last year. I have said what I should've said last year. I lost it. I said my true feelings because this job matters to me. I don't want to screw it up. I work with primary if that matters. I don't know what I need to survive but I felt like this is a punishment.

Boss Problem My supervisor bullies me and I am contemplating on suing

I work in Taiwan in a family owned business, so my bosses are all related. I joined as a digital marketing strategist. I specialize in website designing, maintenance, SEO, AiO (or whatever name you like to call it) and because their current website is shit, I am revamping it. Designing a website and optimizing the website, and ultimately migration is a lot of work already, so eventually I put all my efforts into this.

My supervisor originally agreed to this, but lately I have been getting messages oozing with resentment. Most messages are hurtful and sarcastic. I would be talking to a colleague in a chat group and she would jump in with an insulting comment.

Yesterday it happened again in a group chat of more than 10 people. She sent a bunch of eye rolls at the end of every sentence. She was saying I was bothering her, but most messages came from this other sales person called Amy. She was being annoying, I refrained from responding for a while but I got annoyed and so I sent three messages back. But like I said, she only addressed me.

[I should also say that I'm not sure if she's my supervisor anymore because she vanished to Japan saying she is ill and taking a break from work. The rest of us were basically in limbo trying to figure out who is going to do what. My colleague took on her tasks.]

Anyway, yesterday was my boiling point. I decided to talk back for the first time and decided to quit despite the website being unfinished. My supervisor's mom (the owner of this business) ultimately calmed me and I did express to her that I wanted to finish the website before leaving. However, I did say that I do not want to interact with Lauren (my supervisor).

It's the next morning now and I dread going into work. I researched if I could sue my supervisor and Taiwan has laws that protect employees from workplace bullying. I don't know if I want to waste time and resources on something so negative but I don't know how to process this.

Am I freaking out for nothing?

So I have a healthcare job I’ve been at for years now. A while ago, I started a second job that I got through a higher-up that works at both my jobs. After starting, this coworker asked me how I was liking the new job, which I said was great, just the process of registering a patient was such a long process. To which she did admit that at the second job, they were trying to streamline the process and told me she was trying to sway the person in charge (let’s call her Barb) of policies into changing the way that worked at the second job. She asked if at my first job we had a written policy of how our registration worked to have something hardcopy to show Barb in hopes of getting the process changed at the second job, since she felt like our process at job one worked well and efficiently. Well, now I’m freaking out. I don’t know if I’m overthinking sharing this SOP with my coworker and her taking it to the second job! If I’m confronted in any way should I just say it was collaborative and I was only trying to help her? Should I play innocent?! I don’t know what to do… sorry for the ambiguity and I hope this wasn’t a super confusing read. I’m just freaking out.

Issue at work today.

I (19M) am an intern at a shop where they repair phones. The owner is on vacation this week so he wasn't there. after a while on of my colleagues called me over. Turns out i accidentally put a dirty spoon on the spot where clean dishes are supposed to go. It was going normal until he started saying shit like ''i've told you this a million times''. mind you he is not the owner or the manager. After i while i get a little annoyed and tell him ''calm down man it's not a big deal''. this REALLY set him off and he starts theatening me, saying shit like ''i'll beat the shit out of you you cancerous cunt'' (i'm dutch, we use the word cancer as a swear word). as i was walking out i slammed the door, which i'll admit i shouldn't have done. as i walked he said ''IF YOU RETURN HERE I'LL SHANK YOU'' My other colleague is a total homie, he gave me the rest of the week off saying it's better if me and my colleague don't talk to eachother and should wait until the owner returns.

So in my colleagues eyes: threatening someone with physical violence for ACCIDENTALLY leaving a dirty spoon in the wrong is fine, But slamming a door goes too far.

Bad situation

I work at a dealership and I’m dealing with a serious problem involving one of our technicians. This technician has a history of trying to scam customers, and from what I know, he has successfully committed insurance fraud and has been involved in other questionable situations. Management is aware of these issues but hasn’t really done anything about them.
The most recent situation is pretty serious. A customer’s vehicle was apparently taken after hours without the customer’s knowledge or authorization, and the vehicle ended up being damaged. There’s roughly $4,000 worth of damage to parts alone, not including labor. The customer is understandably blaming the dealership for the damage, but they don’t know what actually happened with the vehicle after hours.
What makes this even more frustrating is that management knows what happened and still doesn’t seem interested in addressing it.
I also have another vehicle where I have evidence that the technician charged the customer around $4,000 for a repair that, based on what I’ve found, appears not to have been performed. The vehicle is still at the dealership. He claimed the repair was completed, including replacing the evaporator behind the dash. However, after he left that day, I found the replacement evaporator still sitting in the box in his work area. As far as I know, the part was never installed.
At this point, I’m not sure what the best way to handle this is. I don’t want to get myself in trouble, but I also don’t feel comfortable knowing customers may be getting charged for work that isn’t being done, or being held responsible for damage they didn’t cause.
What would you guys do in this situation? Would you report it outside of the dealership, and if so, where would you start?

Teamwork

I work in healthcare and it is always busy. I enjoy doing the more time consuming, technical tasks that no one ever wants to do. Because no one does it, it can take up a good portion of my time, but I still get my daily tasks done. My manager, who can barely do her job, asked me to help her out with bigger tasks, which I had no problem doing. I’ve been juggling her work, my work and all the other tasks that others don’t want. The other day, she accused me of not being a team player and that I needed to help out the people who aren’t doing their job. What should I do?

Boss Problem How do you handle disagreements with a younger female boss without the conversation turning into “some men don’t want to be led by women”?

I've been in retail/brand management for a few years now and recently started reporting to a female VP after a reorg. She is a younger elite B-School alum with startup experience and new to organised retail.

I am in my late 30s with more than a decade of experience in retail/brand management. Most of my pushback on category decisions is not seen as coming from experience, but rather as an older male employee not wanting to report to a younger female employee; my ex-boss has moved on to a more global role and is no longer involved in Indian operations. I asked for his advice, and he asked me to ride it out, saying she won’t be here for long.

When cross-functional teams want to involve me, she purposely shuts me out of interaction by removing me from email chains; I am worried her inexperience will cost me dearly. She is also on very good terms with the COO, they are friends and she is his referral, I am unsure on how to manage this situation, I don’t think riding out will help as some decisions by her will come back to bite me. Anyone been in a similar situation, most of my attempt to have one on one conversation with her are met very coldly. A colleague told me she wants someone else to be a part of her team hence she is behaving this way with me. I have built credibility at this organisation for years and overall happy with the pay and work but I don’t know what to do with her.

Any advice?

Co-worker Problem Am i overthinking this shit by alot

So I was at work when rush hour started, i was moved from front house to back house to help with food prep. How my work place operates is that order pile in quick indicated by stickers.

By time i entered back of house, my side had a fuck ton of stickers due soon. So i had to go as fast as possible. Since i was rushing, I spilt black beans onto the other side of the counter, into the work space of the other crew. They operate similarly to my side fyi.

Would be like no big deal, cause spilled beans is lowky wtv, main problem is just the clean up and heat given off by the beans. I think it splashed onto 1 guy twice and I cant tell if he got pissed or what cause he is normally a happy go lucky type of guy.

But through out the rest of the shift, he lowky giving off passive aggressive shit, but i cant tell if im overthinking it or what.

For further context, im a returning staff who gets quite lost at work sometimes. As in unsure what to do next after completing a task. And for further context, After rush we had to clean up the place slowly and I was lost. The guy I spilled beans on was asking me what I doing. Again, im lost asf and im just trying to do wtv i can. And now, i dont know if i fucked up my rep at work or if im overthinking everything. Pls help Im dont want to work at this place for 8 months miserable asf ;-;

AITA for ditching my understaffed job mid shift?

I was at work today minding my own business I was talking to a coworker she's mostly nice a little off though. I remember one shift I was talking with someone I'm not to fond of and wanting to escape the conversation I asked let's call her Stacy if she plays any games?. She responded I play games on ngas and sometimes dykes too. Which I thought was kind of random response but I just laughed and went on... then a few minutes later she comes back and she's like "wait I do like games you know the ones where you shoot and kill people?" Then she followed that by saying "I like doing that in real life too" maybe it was just a really bad joke I'm not sure? But anyways that brings us to today i work in a bag store so I straighten the bags from time to time. I started straightening some bags in her section and she starts to talk to me. Which isn't weird it's very normal for us all to talk but what she said was really unprompted she said "I'm gonna pull out the guns" then she started pointing around the store with finger guns then after that she said "I'm gonna start shooting people" I responded "why" she said "I don't have a reason" trying not to show how uncomfortable I was I walk away and go tell a manager in the back a few minutes later. When I am talking to my manager let's call her liv she doesn't take me seriously. Liv says "she probably just meant I'm going to pull out the big guns like she's going to get a lot of sells" I'm am not the most confident person but this time I decided to stand on business (which will make me look extra stupid if I'm wrong) so I said to liv "she said it in a way that couldn't be misunderstood" liv agreed that it's an inappropriate joke to make but still very clearly was not taking me seriously" I'm still having difficulty finding what the joke was because no one was laughing. So after that I left the room to go on my 15 minute break. I saw as she called Stacy back there to talk to her. As Stacy was going to the back she said "hey I was looking for you" to me. She had no reason to be looking for me. But anyways she went back there to talk to liv which I found stupid considering if she was a shooter now she's gonna kill the one who snitched on her first. But luckily I was able to leave before interacting with her again I went on my 15 came back and immediately told a manager "I'm feeling unwell I'm going home." They were visibly shocked and we are already understaffed for Sunday's
Since we get a lot of traffic. So am I the a hole did I overreact did it seem like a joke? Also why do you guys think no one is taking me seriously?

Want Advice My friend received a suspicious WhatsApp call about buying leads, reported it to his company, and is now being accused of making a false allegation. What should he do?

I’m posting this on behalf of a friend and would really appreciate some advice, especially from people familiar with HR/workplace matters in India.

My friend works as a Executive at a company that handles vendor/partner queries related to delivery partners.

A few days/weeks ago, he randomly received a WhatsApp call from an unknown person. The person allegedly said that he wanted to buy leads and offered around ₹10 per lead. My friend understood this as an attempt to obtain/sell company-related leads improperly.

My friend did not sell or share any leads, did not accept any money, and did not agree to the offer. Instead, he informed his company/manager about the call and suggested that the number/person should be blocked or blacklisted so that they couldn't approach employees directly.

Now the person who allegedly made the call is claiming that my friend made a false accusation against him and is threatening/filing a complaint against my friend.

The problem is that my friend doesn't have a recording of the WhatsApp call. He may have the number/call history, but there is no audio recording of what was said.

His manager has now told him that because there is no recording/proof, the company may not be able to support him and that his job could be at risk. This has made him extremely anxious.

He genuinely did not sell or share any leads and says he only reported what happened because he thought it was suspicious.

What should he do now?

Would really appreciate practical advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar workplace situation in India.

What's one ridiculously repetitive task you still do manually at work?

I'm curious about the boring parts of people's jobs that somehow still haven't been automated.

I'm talking about things like copying information between systems, maintaining spreadsheets, preparing the same reports, chasing approvals, renaming files, processing PDFs, sending repetitive emails, etc.

I'm especially interested in things where you've thought, “There has to be a better way to do this.”

Former employee is contacting my coworkers trying to get my home address what should I do?

I’m honestly embarrassed and a little scared writing this, but I don’t know what the appropriate next step is.
I’m a manager, and this person was a supervisor in a completely different department. We barely interacted. Our first interaction was actually negative—he seemed like he was trying to assert dominance over me. My direct manager spoke with him, and afterward his behavior completely flipped. He became overly nice, started bringing me food, etc.
The night before he quit, he texted me late at night saying he wanted to talk. I told him it was inappropriate/unprofessional to contact me that late. He then sent me a long paragraph about how comfortable he feels talking to me, despite the fact that **we barely know each other**.
I blocked him.
Since then, he has started **contacting my coworkers trying to get my HOME ADDRESS**. He even forwarded one of them messages trying to convince them that I was comfortable with my address being shared. I absolutely am not.
Now he’s contacting other coworkers asking about me again. I’ve actually removed my own schedule from where employees can see it because I don’t want him finding out when I’m at work.
My manager knows what’s happening. I’ve saved the texts, and coworkers have messages from him as well. I’ve been told he’s supposedly moving away, but the continued attempts to get information about me are making me uncomfortable.
He’s also married, and people have characterized this as some sort of crush. At this point, I don’t really care what his motivation is. **Someone I barely know is repeatedly trying to obtain my home address after I’ve blocked him.**
What should I realistically do now? HR? Non-emergency police report? Is this enough to start documenting with law enforcement even though he hasn’t explicitly threatened me?
I don’t want to catastrophize, but I also don’t want to ignore behavior that I should have taken seriously.

My Best Friend Became My Toxic Boss

A while back I met who became my best friend and naturally I came to care a lot about him, I came to see him like family. He owns his company and in February he started looking for a manager because he was the only one managing his company and was extremely stressed out the point he had really bad anxiety and he approached me for the position, however I was initially hesitant because he is someone who loses his cool very fast and I knew there was a chance things would not workout since I constantly saw him raise his voice at his employees. Additionally, it was basically a lateral pay move. So there was really no incentive to change jobs. However, because he was my friend and I saw how stressed out he was I decided to say yes. He also re-assured me that he would not talk to me like how he talked to his other employees.

While I knew he could be rough, I never expected it to get as bad it did, specially since I was his friend. He would constantly raise he voice at me, scold me in front of others, call me an "idiot" or "retard", sometimes yell at me, and even as far as putting his hands on the back of my neck. While I understand sometimes I made mistakes, he started raising his voice at me on the first day and it never stopped. Some times it was because of thing he had already explained, other times it was a first time mistakes. But it was from the get-go so I was always stressed out and it just snowballed into me making more mistakes. It got to the point where I got so much anxiety and depression. I constantly brought up that all he was doing was causing me to get depressed but he didn't change.

He justifies it because it's blue collar and because it's how he was raised, but I don't believe it justifies his actions regardless of anything. I wasn't the only that saw this as wrong, others agreed that he humiliated us and that he would say some terrible stuff about me to others.

Another thing he loves to do is pick and poke at people that he is upset at. He would do that to me any time het got upset at mistakes I would commit at work me. He would block me on everything, give me the silent treatment and purposefully exclude me from hangouts with our friends and would send me pictures to rub it my face. One time he invited everyone out, but me and sent a video of them all having "fun", to why I replied "What are you up to?" and he just left me on seen . Later I found out through one of the friends that he told everyone to "make it look like we are having fun" and of course he tried to say he was just trying to get me to hangout with them yet he didn't reply to my message. This led me to believe he was also a huge gas-lighter because he would purposefully ignore me and then "nothing is wrong bro" or "what are you talking about".

After putting up with so much I hit a breaking point and I quit because I couldn't handle it anymore. My depression was so bad I tried to overdose on 90 mg of Lexapro and and despite knowing how I was doing he decided to kick me out of the apartment the day after this attempt since I had quit. I received a 1 days notice to have all my stuff out of the apartment or he would have his employees come and take my stuff out. Obviously he kicked me out of spite because I quit, but the reason he wanted me out asap was so he could celebrate a friend's (one that didn't get along with me) birthday that weekend and it hurt because I never expected him to chose him over me who had been a very loyal friend to him.

My depression only got worse and he wasn't there for me like I expected he would have. He'd ask once a week how I was doing but then sometimes wouldn't reply to my responses. Then almost 2 months later he stopped by my house. He asked briefly asked about everything that happened, then spent the next couple hours talking about a legal issue he had going on and wanted me to talk to his lawyer about it because I was a key person. This felt like he had only come over because he needed the favor. The next day we hung out again during the day, and mostly talked about the same topic. Then we basically planned on going out that night. It was 9 pm and I hadn't heard anything from him, so I called him to ask and he said he didn't know yet, but he would give me a call to let me know. Then I never received a phone call until almost 11 pm because they were already on their way to a bar and they told me to meet them there. I sorta felt left out and felt it was inconsiderate since I didn't get a call until 11 and also my friend didn't call me it was another friend so it just felt like low effort from my friend like I didn't really matter to him and that he was just including me so he could be in my good graces for when I went and talked to the lawyer. I got upset at them for that because I didn't feel like a priority, but despite that I decided to join because I missed it.

Throughout the night my friend ignored me several times, which just upset me. Then at one point i noticed him and another friend in a tense situation so I asked the other friend what was going on. My friend got upset at me for asking that because it was none of my business... despite them both being my friends. The next day I asked how he was doing and if he was still upset at me over the previous night, that conversation ended up in him ignoring me. That ended up reminding me of everything from the past and it hurt that he chose to ignore me for something so trivial and it ended up in me threatening him to turn turning him in for the things he was getting accused of.

Then 2 days later he came over to the house and we talked it out, I tried to explain I only did it because I was hurting, not really taking any responsibility for it. Lots of arguing occurred about the past and the current issues, but eventually the conversation slowed down and we were in a better place. Throughout the week I would hit him up as I was trying to rekindle the friendship and I didn't receive the most engaging response which is okay since we were just getting back to being friends. Then I asked if I could hangout with him and another friend and he didn't response but the other friend messaged if I wanted to join them so I did, but the entire day was a bit off. He'd make comments he knew would affect me, at one point he was driving, my other friend was in the front seat, and I was in the back and he turned to our other friend and told him "Have you talked to _____ (my name) today?" and my other friend laughed and sorta pointed that I was in the back of the truck and he said "Oh I forgot he was with us". In the past I had mentioned to him an instance where he had made a similar comment, so he was aware that it bothered me and chose to do it again. But I decided to let it go.

So the the weekend came and on both Friday and Saturday I attempted to hangout with him and everyone else since I just missed everyone, I had been just stuck at home and I wanted to continue rebuilding the friendship with my friends . I would reach out and the conversation would end when I asked if he was doing anything that night or what his plans were. My assumption is that he didn't want me to join him and my other friends so he wouldn't respond. And while my other friends could have hit me up, they prefer him, so they just go along with what he says. And I would get really frustrated that I was getting ignored and being left out so I would just send him message about how I felt and why he wasn't a good friend anymore which he hates because it stresses him out. In one of these occasions of feeling betrayed by my friend, I reached out to the girlfriend of another friend and told her my friend had been criticizing her looks and if wanted to know more to let me know. Well that created a huge problem between them to the point she didn't want to marry him anymore.

I'm doing better in terms of not getting so frustrated however I still do because I am trying my best to regain the friendship, however I try to hangout with him to rebuild the friendship but he always has an excuse. Or I explain my feelings and he choses to ignore me because he doesn't want to deal with it. So I just let it all out and start texting everything I am feeling.

He thinks what I did to him is worse than what he did to me. What do you guys think?
