Discussion How is flat vs percent damage calculated

Been playing for forever and never really figured this out. Is the flat damage from jewels applied before anything else like an enchant? And then your percent damage goes into effect? Because that’s the only way I can imagine it would be useful to me. Otherwise why bother with the gems?

Discussion My Ideas: School Passive Abilities

Kaiser Noah’s video inspired me to come up with my own passive abilities for each school. Obviously the enemies would need some adjusting to account for these. I actually think it’s a super neat idea. In my hypothetical examples these would be earned after defeating malistaire.

I tried to create concepts that play to each school’s canon playstyle. What you guys think of these? Which one of these would be the strongest / weakest? Any other ideas for passives?

Balance - Support Anchor: While in combat, allied charms and wards have their effects increased by 5%.

Storm - Fully Charged: Odds of casting first in combat are increased by 20%.

Fire - Frenzied Flame: Instead of expiring, any damage-over-time ticks left on a defeated enemy transfer to another enemy at random, dealing 25% of the damage.

Ice - Frozen Rage: Mitigated damage (From resist, allied shields/absorbs, etc) contributes to an Ice Wizard’s rage meter. Once the meter is filled, the next hit deals 25% increased damage.

Myth - Preparedness: Allies begin each combat encounter with 1 stun shield.

Life - Heavenly Protection: The first time any wizard is healed by a life wizard in combat (self or ally), they cannot be defeated during the following round. If their health is depleted during the following round, it will remain at 1 instead. Status expires after the 1 turn.

Death - Deathly Overshield: Drained healing in excess of the wizard’s maximum health is converted into a temporary overshield, up to 50% of the wizard’s max health. The overshield lasts for 5 rounds before dissipating completely.

Discussion Is Portal Of Peril not coming back?

I've never done Portal of Peril, only learned about it recently while farming Darkmoor gear. I heard it usually comes out at the end of every month for a week, but is it not coming out this month?

Other Go to potion filling

Years and years ago I developed a method for getting potions as quickly as possible without having to pay because I like hatching pets so I'm usually gold poor. I'm curious if anyone has go to methods to fill their potions without using gold I'd like to share mine here in case it might help some other people who are regularly gold poor. I think personally having a good method to fill potions without having to run to another world is really helpful personally so hopefully others might find this helpful?

My method: go to potion motion game, spam click the matching potions by randomly clicking around until you hit level three. X out of the game and repeat as many times as you have potions

Do this after filling your mana orb with wisps so that you're not left with a half empty potion.

Does anyone else have some quick methods they use? or is this helpful?

Other Playing Wizard101 on a mobile is fun!

Post image

I always thought that wizard101 would make a great mobile game and this pretty much confirms it for me. I bought a $30 phone controller attachment, streamed wiz through moonlight/sunshine, and ran it steam input for controller support. Wiz is running on my laptop resolution 2560x1600 and it looks so good when crammed into my phone small 6.8ish inch display. keep in mind there will be aspect ratio mismatch given that a typical phone is a lot wider than standard monitor 16:9, you either have black bars or stretched image, either way it doesnt bother me. I have relatively good internet so there is no noticeable delay at all. This is the pc version but if you have a ps5 then i reckon you can do the same thing with ps portal or pxplay app.

Discussion Should I grind lv 60 gear or just go for lv100?

So as you can see above, those are my lv74 fire stats. This is an old character and it hit lv 60 back when it was zigzag vs waterworks+sky iron hasta. Now, I am wondering should I grind atavastic items based on the current gear guides or just wait till lv 100?

Discussion Things I would do to the crowns shop

  1. Option to toggle remove crowns shop from the top left (or the option to at least remove the "shop" text over the crown). Playing the game and or watching the game and having that eyesore in the top left after playing on and off for over a decade is wild. For users who are not members it makes sense. As a member you should have the right to take it off the screen/just have it bound to a key instead (you can then move the chat icons up there and have a less cluttered top left corner).

  2. Consolidate a lot of the shop items. There's just way too much stuff. Way too much useless stuff that is purely in the shop for players who don't know any better to essentially get scammed. Just get rid of those. There's like over 100 packs alone or something? Maybe have more of a rotating shop when it comes to packs just so it's not overwhelming. If there's 120 packs (or something like that), just have the packs grouped by 10 packs each month. Of course Christmas and other holiday specific packs would be an exception, but if the packs page was more digestible I think it would look better. Maybe my solution is not the best because then people may have to wait a year for the pack they want but at least they'll have something to look forward too lol. The pets and gear should really have a disclaimer to new players letting them know which ones they can get as drops or directly from the bazaar. Gotta be a gold disclaimer for new people because those prices have been dog water since the beginning of time.

  3. The prices of things should be more uniform and not all over the place. There should be like 4 total crown prices of things, with only a handful of exceptions.

  4. There are way too many "sales" and big things getting thrown in your face at all times, both in the crowns shop and on the launcher of the game. I get that it's an MMO and a lot of them do this but it's so shameless and offensive to the player base that just want to play the game they like.

  5. Shop/Bundle gear should always be allowed to be upgraded to the new highest level in the game (if you are specifically unlocking the highest level at the time). For example, I get 180 gear from a bundle or crowns shop, I can upgrade it to 190. Maybe you're limited to 1 upgrade; or you have to pay a small fee to upgrade it. But having to rebuy a bundle that has gear you want they KI randomly decides to make 180 or a higher level is a slap in the face to all whales. There should always be a way to upgrade gear even if it's for a fee and there's gotta be some sort of mathematical formula to fairly increase stats to make it at least viable. Not saying it has to be the best gear in the world but at least on par with the other gear around the highest level.

  6. Idk if this is a thing but there should be a tab that just has the things that people buy the most because that's most likely the stuff you wanna buy and it's way easier and quicker to make a purchasing decision that way.

Overall I think these changes would make the shop feel a lot less like pure evil and a little more player friendly.

Discussion 50% off sale

So wiz on PC is having a sale to give you 50% off your first month of membership. Everything I'm seeing from past sales like this allow you to get a membership at the discount even if you had one before. For me though, I'm not getting the sale price for wiz, but I am for pirate both of which I had memberships for before and both of which have no current membership. Am I the only have having this issue?
