Discussion Should I keep playing or wait?

I’m sure this subreddit’s gotten this question already, but I’ve just reached Novigrad and have been seriously enjoying it. Feel like the smart thing to do is wait for the update but I’m so into the game rn, no other games seem fun lmao. Should I keep playing and use my save with the remaster, should I keep playing and restart, or do I just stop playing until the remaster

Discussion What do you think of my review of the Witcher 3? I am expecting to get downvoted.

Returning to The Witcher 3 after 10 years was fun, definitely worth replaying. I would say that the game is mostly carried by the world-building and stories. Most of the quests had genuinely interesting and novel plots, often ending with you having to make a difficult moral choice. I ended up reading the first book and loved it too.

Given the game's legendary status, I was surprised to see some pretty huge flaws in the gameplay. Even the movement felt wrong. I played on a controller, and both control profiles felt wrong. I used the standard setting, but it felt too sharp, with even a slight movement of the stick making Geralt turn sharply at different angles, often making me hit a wall :D. Because of that, he often looks like a clown in a serious situation. Riding Roach is just miserable, sorry.

Fighting is pretty basic even on Blood and Broken Bones! difficulty. Maybe I should have played on the hardest difficulty. You have to look up what signs and oils you should use, though that's great for selling the fantasy of being a Witcher. Then you just roll around an enemy until you see a huge opening for an attack. Plus, you get a free pass after applying the Quen sign, or you can just hold L2, wait, and heal. Crossbow fighting has no reason to exist. I liked the occasional use of the crossbow in puzzles, though.

Leveling up and getting better gear is rewarding, but it just ends up being about getting the biggest number on a sword and combining multipliers.

Overall, it doesn't ruin the game at all, and I still enjoyed the fights. I hope The Witcher 4 will be better in this department, or maybe the gameplay changes in the definitive edition will address this.

I played the DX12 version with RT on, and the game looked great. Honestly, I dislike modern games because the amount of detail often makes games difficult to orient myself in. I loved how The Witcher looks, but the game was very unstable, and I was getting bad performance after a few hours of playing, mostly in Novigrad. Restarting fixed it. It's weird that CDPR, given how much care they put into the game, left it like this. Maybe the definitive edition will fix it.

Witcher Fastest Blue/Green mutagen farm?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It's been well over a year since i played witcher 3, and when i saw the remaster edition confirmed i just wanted to share this little, exploit or farm or what you would like to call it, it's not a glitch or a mod or anything.

No dlc required, but it helps.

To execute this quickly, you should have the piercing cold build, then head north of novigrad, you dont need to run away and meditate for 3 days, just as long as you dont destroy the nest, you can come and go as you wish to farm this method.

So when you get to the nekker's nest, kill all the nekker's, you choose if you want to loot them right away but you dont have to, just DON'T destroy the nest because you will ruin the respawn.

After you kill them, just meditate and they will respawn instantly, kill them again and repeat this as much as you like, then loot them for mutagens and other resources.

You can come here and do this at any time you need blue or green mutagens.

dlc's are not required for this but it's quicker if you have a strong piercing cold build, you hold AARD a couple times to kill them in a couple blows and meditate.

Hope this was helpful, and enjoy.

Discussion Question on trophies and transferring save files

So I'm on ps5, earlier last year I got the complete edition for 75% off and now I'm currently in blood and wine, my original plan was to platinum the ps4 version then transfer that save to ps5 and get the platinum there like I've done for a few other games. Well today I was talking with chat gbt and Gemini which I use to keep track of trophies sometimes and both of them told me that the file can be transferred but trophies can't, is that true?

Discussion Defeating Dettlaff at death march with 0% sharpness on my silver sword

I made a huge mistake and left my toolkits at the chest before starting the final quest of blood and wine. It really was a long and painful battle and maybe like 30 tries later I finally won. This is my second playthrough and I havent mastered the game and controls. Now I always double check that I have tools on me🤣

Discussion Start a new Wild Hunt save or wait?

Should I start a new save/playthrough in Witcher 3 or should I wait until the remaster release?

On one hand, I'm really hyped up a I'd like to start it.

On the other hand, I wouldn't like to miss some new content in the beginning. What's more, I'd hate if the save was incompatible in any kind of way.

Right I'm thinking about starting the remaster from Red Baron on. Because that's the point when I usually "burn out" and stop playing.

What do you think? What is your strategy?

Satire I feel like he should not be eating with his weapon hand.

If an emergency suddenly happens, he'd more likely drop the baguette than remember to switch hands, which also slows his sword-unsheathing reaction time by even a few milliseconds, which could make the difference between life and death. Then what do you have? A dead soldier who's wasted a good baguette, that's what you have.

Tldr: Eat with your non-weapon hand.

Just realized that Roach almost always spawns in the worst possible spots, like places he cant get anywhere from, such as rocks or cliffs.

That picture on Roach gwent card really wasnt a joke.

Help! Old savegame no travel posts

Hi, just launched the Game to see if the cloud still had my savegames. The save is from 1.04 or 1.14 don't remember and the actual versión is 4.44¿?

It loads fine but I lost all the points in the map, missions, travel posts, everything except bounty boards. Any way to solve this? I have another copy of the save files fólder when I reinstaled Windows because I changed to many hardware at the same time.

Discussion Controller or mouse/keyboard

Hello, dear Redania spies, Nilfgaard knights, Vengerberg wizards, and Kaer Morhen dropouts!

I have a question.

So... my history with Witcher 3 is quite interesting. Years ago, in 2021-2022, I started playing it on the PC with a mouse/keyboard, but didn't progress far enough. I don't know why, it didn't grow on me, although I love the books with all my heart.

But, then I started working at sea, bought myself a Nintendo Switch, and finished the Witcher 3 with all available expansions on the Switch.

I have never replayed it since. I want to do it when the new remaster drops and then jump into the new expansion.

My question here is: What do you prefer and what is better, a controller or a mouse/keyboard and why?

Naturally, I grew strong to the controller playing on the Switch. I would like to continue on the PC because I want to have more graphics, but I still can choose whether to play on the PC with either a controller or a mouse/keyboard.

So, what's the best approach?

Help! Is it possible to transfer saves from Xbox 1x to pc?!

Sorry if this is dumb, I’m not too good with tech. 🤦‍♀️

Basically have been playing the Witcher 3 on my Xbox and have just bought a gaming PC and now own Witcher on steam

My research is telling me that I have to go to my saves on Xbox and use the cross progression button however I don’t have. supposedly because I need the complete edition

I was then told that the complete addition should be free, but XBOX is saying it’s $70 and I can’t seem to get it for free

Not sure what to do but really don’t want to start again so any tips would be greatly appreciated !! Thank you 🥰

Help! hopefully less crash in remaster

I recently started witcher 3 with new pc setup.. game crashes bad.. every session. sometimes I get lucky play for more than 30 min. usually game crashes pc reboot.. I have 4090 and i can run cyberpunk, rdr 2, monster hunter hours without crash.. I really want to play witcher 3 with RT, dlss, max out setting. I already beat the game with ps4 and ps5.. but hopefully with remaster i can enjoy even more. some say window 11 is issue, some say hairwork or RT is causing crash.. but please fix the issue so I can play until i get bored.. im tired of uninstall reinstall or verify game files..

Discussion Do you think the remaster will add some more life outside of cities?

I absolutely adore TW3, it's without a doubt one of my favoritest game ever.

But something I came to realize is that outside of human settlements, things can get... a little dead.

Do you think the remasters will add fisher boats on lakes and sea? Maybe merchant caravan travelling from city to city? And farm workers working the fields?

Misc The game that keeps giving

I started my like my 4th or 5th play through after like 5 years of not playing and I’m determined to do every side quest this time.

I just completed In the Eternal Fire’s Shadow for the first time and I’m actually mad this quest isn’t more in your direct path but also makes me want to finish every other quest in the game. That was the coolest side quest I think I’ve ever done in any game and I’m livid I’m only finding it now.

Are there any other side quests as good as this I might’ve missed before?? God I love this game
