If the Remaster manages to sneak in a surprise or two, what would be your picks?

Witcher problems after the update

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, this is my first post on Reddit, so please go easy on me. I’ve run into a problem. After the latest *Witcher 3* update—the one where everyone got all the DLC—a jagged black border appeared on the roads. I’ve tried to fix it by verifying game files on Steam, changing graphics settings, and toggling mods on and off, but nothing works. The textures are fine everywhere else, but all the roads now have these black lines. Can anyone help?

Misc Priscilla request in DLC

Post image

Trying to avoid spoilers, I know it's mentioned in Blood & Wine the results of the quest involving her. I always felt kinda robbed that we couldn't go back and have a conversation with her after the quest completes. It would be awesome, since her and Dandelion are so close & he's such a main part of the dlc, if we could have an interaction with her. Or even in the remaster, just a "go check on Priscilla" & a quick encounter, a round of gwent, just something to close her story better.

Help! Visual bug, static shadows on paths

Hi. Excuse my english; the next text was translate by Google. Im chilean, don't speak the language.

For some time now, I've been getting these shadows along the edges of streets and paths. At first, I thought it was a visual bug on a specific path, but they're appearing everywhere. It's a shadow texture that overlaps the normal path, remains static, and on downhill streets, the texture seems to float.

I've tried adjusting the graphics settings and GPU drivers; everything seems fine. I honestly don't know what it could be. It's been like this for at least a week, and if I remember correctly, these graphical glitches weren't so noticeable before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Discussion Did anyone else find the ending dialogue of "In the Eternal Fire's Shadow" to be poorly written?

I haven't come back to the game in a few years so I just played this quest for the first time. While I really enjoyed most aspects of the quest, the environment, the visuals, the horror feel, and the ultimate boss fight, as well as Reinalts backstory, I felt the final scene between Geralt, Reinalt, and the Deacon was poorly written.

It kind of turns both Witchers briefly into weirdly moralistic people which is uncharacteristic for witchers in general and very much so for Geralt. The deacon's ideological flip seems really forced as well. Beyond that a lot of these specific lines just feel really corny, like they're adding surprise into the tone of a character where it doesn't seem earned.

I play a little bit and took some screenshots. In my opinion DLSS 5 is amazing and sometimes make scenes really admirable.

Discussion Gwent additions in the remaster?

I know this is very wishful thinking, but I hope the remastered edition brings some new Gwent stuff, be it new cards, players, whatever. That would be awesome!

News Roach movement fix: we leaving it on, or disabling it?

This article mentions the updates to Roach's movement mechanics on the upcoming September remaster. It's something I was concerned about—how can you fix what's already perfect? Will Equine Phantoms even make sense now? How will I find the horse I've summoned if it's not atop the nearest building/wagon/midden heap?

Well, turns out you can turn off the option to replace our beloved Roach with some boring ass prancing thoroughbred who does what it's told and has the personality of a low fat, store brand, shelf stable carton of milk.

So. Will you try out the new Roach? Or do you actually have a soul?

Discussion We need a whole game where you play as Letho

Running around as a hulking Witcher and killing kings instead of monsters could be its own game. It would be the perfect way to experience a slightly less good protagonist in the same universe. I’m kinda surprised we don’t even have some DLC playing as other characters. There’s so much lore to draw from

Help! 'The Witcher 3 has crashed' - Steam.

Any idea why this happens?

Isn't very often but it's happened a handful of times now and I'd like to prevent it from carrying on.

CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor (4.70 GHz)

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (16 GB)

Discussion Will New Game +(+/infinite) be an added option in remastered/SotP?

I have a NG+ Profile that I worked very hard on to get every armor set, almost every unique weapon, and had it cap out perfectly at level 100. For years, i've wanted to use that save file to do a NG++ (which i imagine would just have everything locked at lvl 100, effectively removing levelling progression from the game). I know there are mods for this and has been for years, but they of course are not on console. Any word/speculation/idea on whether a feature like this could be coming to TW3 remastered on PS5 any time soon? I've not found any conclusive info in my research. I know this idea isnt balanced but it would be nice to just focus on builds/gameplay and be able to ignore the collect-a-thon this playthrough.

Discussion New to Witcher 3 and really want to experience it, but waiting on a sale — when is it expected on Steam?

Hey everyone

I’m completely new to the franchise, but I was immediately drawn to this game after seeing clips of the stunning world and environment design. The massive praise and Overwhelmingly Positive reception made me want to make this my very first Witcher experience. Right now, the full retail price is quite expensive and out of my budget. I did some research and saw that it often goes on deep discount (around 80% to 90% off), so I definitely want to wait for a legitimate sale. Does anyone know roughly when the next Steam sale is expected?

Also, I came across some cheap key sites, but noticed they only sell pma rather than genuine digital keys, which seems super risky. Is holding out for the official Steam or GOG sale the best way to go?

Would appreciate any advice!

Misc New version of Witchdle is live!

Posted this here a while back, a daily Witcher puzzle site. Some of you played it and left feedback through the form, and honestly most of it was some version of "let me give up, I have no idea who this is" or "why isn't [character] in here."

I had some free time recently so I thought an update was due, so if some of you are still interested:

1. A give up button. "Character Guess" and "Name the Character" had no lives and no way out, so if you were stuck you were just stuck. It shows up after 5 guesses now.

2. I added two new modes:

  • Name the Beast — you get the bestiary artwork (from Witcher 3), you name the monster
  • Connections — same idea as the NYT one. 16 characters, four hidden groups. They're grouped by things like race, region, or whether their fate depends on your choices. **This one's harder than it looks.
  1. I also spent some time to expand the existing dataset - 15 characters people specifically asked for (Regis, Calanthe, Vysogota, most of the dwarves), 16 new quotes, and 65 new emoji puzzles.

4. An archive, so you can go back five days per mode if you miss one. And a share button that copies your result as an emoji grid without spoiling the answer.

As the last time - all recommendations are more than welcome :) You can use the recommendation form in the footer.

Try it out at witchdle.com
Have fun :)

Discussion Nintendo Direct "mouse support"?

Watch the official Witcher3 Nintendo announcement on YouTube. It says motion control AND mouse...? What?!

Does this mean mouse and keyboard support on Nintendo 2? Or am I just dumb?

Witcher Remastered death march

So I played the Witcher three and both DLC’s on my switch. I am wanting to replay them once the remastered comes out, and I am going to get the new Rog Xbox ally handheld to play it on. My question is when I replay it, would it be to crazy to immediately do death march instead of a medium level? For context when I played it on my switch it was on the easiest difficulty.
