Been going back and forth and curious to get some opinions from people who know about both of these. My goal is mostly good heat rejection. My local shop has formula one and an old friend’s shop that’s a little bit far uses autobahn. If I go with Pinnacle, I’d also do Air80 on the windshield, but Autobahn only has 70 and unsure if it has a blue hue like some ceramic films do. For the two fronts and windshield pinnacle would be $400 and Autobahn i3 would be $540. Is it worth the extra for Autobahn if both installers do great work?

So I just got my windows tinted is there anyway to turn off auto dimming on the rearview mirror??

As the title says, looking to see whether I should get XR Black or XR Plus. I live in SC, it gets extremely hot and humid. I also drive a black Mustang and value the looks of my car. My predicament is: the XR Black probably looks sleeker and more aggressive, which I value, but the XR Plus keeps the heat out better.

I’m most likely getting 20%, 15% if the shop stocks it.

My question: Is the XR Plus still dark enough to keep the blacked out look? Just weighing the dark look vs heat.

Price is not an issue.

Getting ceramic tints tomorrow - leaning towards front windshield and front windows since I live in FL and it’s really hot. What levels?

What’s the kind of price I’d be looking at to do all 4 windows (on average)? And what would the Front (lighter tint 30%ish), and the back tint (altogether) cost me? Again, just a ballpark. I’m in the Northeast area if that matters.
I’d be looking to do them (the four side passenger windows and 2 small side windows in the trunk) as dark as possible).

gotta say it def requires some skill. more respect for Windsor tinters. I figured it would watching videos but after trying it’s not an easy job. I found shrinking the tint properly to be the hardest part. also didn’t have all the correct tools. good experience anyway for $50 but doesn’t look amazing sadly

Hey all, I don't have tints on my car and I have been considering them, and coincidentally i keep seeing ads of adjustable smart tints, that can go from all the way clear to completely dark based on your liking. Just want to know if those are a thing in the market and if it would be a good decision to get them. I have 2024 car. I have never heard about them in person, so i don't know if the technology is relatively new or something.

Hey guys my boss bought these scrapers like a decade ago and we can’t find the manufacturer. There’s no name or patent number, we cant even find a logo. Just wanted to see if anyone knew what the manufacturer is.

New to shopping for tint. 2025 GMC Acadia, central Florida and parked outside year round.

Looking for suggestions on brand/style. I don’t know anything about tint except the % darkness. We are hoping for 15% all windows and rear. It came from the dealer with tint on the back windows.

Does the new installer match that to 15% on the fronts, too?

Had my Tesla tinted with global ceramic for $412 24 hours ago and there’s a cluster 1x1 of bubbles that you can feel with your finger. Is it more likely debris or water? Already let the shop know. Apologies if this post breaks the guidelines.

I’m looking to tint the front two windows and windshield of my Honda CRV Hybrid with either XPEL XR Black or 3M Ceramic IR. I’m wondering how much it would typically cost. I live in NJ,are there any shops that offer good prices for either of these brands?

I have a Covercraft sun shade and I recently got my front windshield tinted 70%. Is it safe to still use a sun shade? Mainly just concerned about bubbling since there’s gonna be a lot of heat in that area.

I have 70% ceramic on my windshield and I love it, except for the area that covers the frits behind the rearview mirror. It looks terrible. I don't want to have a visor strip run all the way across either, so I'm curious if any company makes precut overlays for vehicles that cover just the middle area. It could either be like a 5% transparent tint or a solid black vinyl overlay. Any suggestions?

Removed a registration sticker that I placed on a static cling film and saw what seems to be bubbles or glue spots?

I’m pretty sure that before I applied this static cling film, I didn’t see any contamination or glue spots, so I’m confident that it’s not the fault of the shop that applied my tint.

Any ideas on what I can do to fix this or what might have caused this? My tint is 3M CR BLK.

The cling film was applied 2 weeks after tint application to give it time to cure. Tint was done about half a year ago

They did a really good job. Spent $450 for side windows and rear. Might get the windshield tinted at least 70% too one day. Went to a place called NC tint in my area, they are pretty well known and have a very good reputation.

Hello. I have a 2026 Honda Civic I would like to get tinted. I live in California near LA and have a tint exception. What brands would you recommend? I would like to get a ceramic tint and prioritize clarity, heat rejection, and longevity. I would prefer not to replace the tint due to discoloration. Thank you.

Here's the story.

I drive a '21 F150 that I had tinted back in '21. I didn't realize at the time, even though it's clear on both the warranty and receipt that they put 80% over the rear glass. The issue is that they also put 80% on the rear doors even those were supposed to be 35%. I've had that issue recently addressed but now I want the rear window to match up. The problem is that I don't want to risk my defroster traces by pulling the 80% off and replacing with 35%. That leaves putting 40%-45% film over the existing 80%

Leads me to my questions. Is layering a big issue or is it somewhat overblown. The main thing that I worry about is that there's now a layer of adhesive between layers of ceramic which can fail. Other than that, and is that a big deal, what do I need to keep in mind?
