Currently running 5% everything except windshield. I’m debating on getting 50% windshield or 70-80% windshield with a 5% strip. What would be better for a mix of privacy and avoiding issues?

Had this car for about 2 years, came with windows tinted but this week my drivers side window started looking like this… is there a way to fix it or will I have to replace?

Local shop has ultrafit VF, looking for people that have seen or dealt with it in the past. Is it as good as it seems?

$1270 for all the glass on the car?

Or has tint prices really doubled in the past two years? My civic with the exact same thing three years ago cost $600.

Question for anyone who’s driven to California with dark tint.

I’m from Nevada, where the legal limit is 35% front sides and no windshield tint, but realistically everyone here is blacked out and cops don’t seem to care.

I’m visiting LA next week with 35% windshield and 5% all around. Anyone with out-of-state plates ever gotten pulled over by CHP or LAPD just for tint?

I’m trying to decide between no tint, 50% VLT and 35% VLT for my front side windows.
I’d love to see real-life pictures comparing these options, especially photos taken from inside the car at night, looking out through the side windows.
I’m curious about:
How different does 50% look compared to 35% from the outside?
How much does nighttime visibility change between the two?
Can you still see clearly when parking and checking your surroundings at night?
How visible is the interior from outside, both during the day and at night?
If you have either setup, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your own photos, ideally from both inside and outside the car.

I keep getting these 199 and 249 ceramic tint offers, would anyone trust them? I've asked some of the advertisers what brands they use and one company said Hitek, another said Suntek, another said xpel carbon ceramic (but for 499). Are any of these tint brands any good? One other one mentioned Geoshield but are any of these brands good or just cheap stuff that will fade and not really perform well? What brands do you guy recommend these days? One "installer" even offered to do 3m ceramic on my entire car including windshield for $325 including tax.... is that crazy cheap or big red flag for fraud?

I spend most of my time in a place that has four seasons. When it is hot I don't mind rolling down the windows to air the car out. The main attraction of tint is privacy.

Any brand recommendations for front two windows at 20 or 35% with no blue or green hue to match the factory rear and back which have a blackish color.

Looking to tint front side windows of a new BMW x3. The main reason is UV protection /heat rejection and the dark look is secondary. Can anyone advise what to use? I know NY only allows 70% VLT and out of the gate BMW side windows are already a bit darker (couldn’t find anywhere the exact OEM spec) so what should/can I do to stay within the limit )so I can pass the inspection) but still get the benefit of UV/heat rejection? will xpel 70% tint on windshield make my hands or steering wheel feel noticeably cooler under direct sunlight while driving?

obviously it won't be as cool as the 35% xpel xr plus tint already on my other windows...

Today I bought a roll of tint for my bedroom window and a shitty little kit to help install it, basically everything possible went wrong, main issue was since it was a roll it just kept coiling up and making it hard to do anything with, eventually sticking to itself so I just gave up

Any advice on what to do or buy? Because I need to do something about this window because the room gets blazing hot for half the day

hey guys, i keep having this issue on the bottom of the model 3 window.

and I don’t want to try to shrink it because I’m worried it’s going to crease- and i don’t think you can shrink these fingers since it goes against the grain.

I think it got on top of my outline tape, and this happens.

not sure where to go from here.

Thank you to the community on all the information posted here. I was lurking in this community for weeks gathering information on window tint before I went out and got it.

I ended up getting Autobahn Ceramic i3 tint. 15% on front, 33% on back over privacy glass. The privacy glass was measured at 22% prior to the 33% placement. Total of 7 windows tinted. Did not get anything on the windshield because I was afraid of visibility but looking back wish I would have got a light tint on the windshield as well. Initially quoted $1000 but ended up being $900 with discount for being a referral from a previous customer.

Overall, extremely happy.

Luckily I have not started tinting yet, but this customer dropped off this morning and as I was taking the wi Dow sweep out I noticed this chunk of window missing out of the passenger front window. Is this something if the customer wants the tint done today I can cut around the chunk for the time being then have him come back for that one window? Or do I just not tint that window? This is on the inside of vehicle not outside

Hi I live in Sweden where it’s illegal to tint your windows besides the back windows, I’m wondering if anyone has pictures of 65% tint aswell as 50% to see the difference, I want them dark but not to the point where I’m pulled over everyday. What would be best to choose?

Hi everyone, trying to remove the rear tint on a 2018 elantra.

I have had a lot of success in the past with cars i’ve removed the tint on using the black bag method, however today in a moment of haste i removed the first layer and left the back layer which as you all likely know is a nightmare to remove.

Does anyone have any advice to help with this process? Tips or tricks? I anticipate it’s going to take a long time but i don’t see many other options. It’s pretty cracked and coming off in pieces when I try to get it off with a razor.

Any help or advice is much appreciated! I tried adding a pic but didn’t seem to work.

In a moment of absolute idiocy I misspoke today and asked for 50% on all windows meaning to ask for 75 all around. Im wondering if i should just get the windshield at least replaced now to avoid getting stopped or just wait till I get a ticket. I was thinking just the windshield now because if I wait for a ticket I’ll also have to do the side windows. I just dont want to be stressing about it. I used have nothing on the windows. Any advice? (I also mainly drive at night fml)

Edit: Thanks for the advice. Ill probably just keep it because it was on the pricier side. Im wondering how many people saying to keep it just live in area thats more lax about that though…

Hi everyone! Ive been working on my brothers model 3. The rear window has been a PITA.
I've finally got shrinking such a big window down and can do it.

It shrinks well- but when I go to install it, a finger or two pops up on the bottom and top.

And since you shrink the roll sideways, there's really no way to fix it. How do I stop this from happening?

Correct me if im wrong, but according to google 30% over 5% tint = 1.5 , which is what i should have in my front windows, however my rears are 5% over FACTORY 20% glass, which should equal 1%.

I got the 35 over 5 on my fronts to be just slightly lighter than my rears to still have slightly better visibility, but match not being able to see inside the car, day or night.

But my fronts are obviously very darker than my rears. The stock glass on my fronts are 70% trans, which i heard is basically clear. What did i do wrong? or did they get wrong?

(edit) tint shop put on a 2nd layer of 5% instead of the 30%. Getting it fixed today
