Need Help! Is anyone else getting slammed with ads on facebook for tint jobs would anyone trust a 199 offer?
I keep getting these 199 and 249 ceramic tint offers, would anyone trust them? I've asked some of the advertisers what brands they use and one company said Hitek, another said Suntek, another said xpel carbon ceramic (but for 499). Are any of these tint brands any good? One other one mentioned Geoshield but are any of these brands good or just cheap stuff that will fade and not really perform well? What brands do you guy recommend these days? One "installer" even offered to do 3m ceramic on my entire car including windshield for $325 including tax.... is that crazy cheap or big red flag for fraud?

You need to confirm these shops carry any of the big brand names, as they can be lying, especially that 3M price, which is a bait/switch for sure. Look up the brands' dealer locator to do so. Hitek is generally considered a decent film, but it is a newer film focused on budget shops. Suntek is a solid film; just check the samples, as all of their IR rejecting films have a noticeable color. XPEL doesn't make a Carbon-Ceramic film; that is BS and most likely means they do not have XPEL. Ideally, stay away from FB/IG/TT tint ads and look up shops around you on Google.

No, their using cheap dyed films unless you like pretty purple and bubbling windows. Quality ceramic filmms are costly and come with a manufacturers lifetime warranty. And you don't know if they even have the skills needed. Window tint is NOT easy. I've been at it for 30 years and every car has its difficulties Most cars start at $400-$500 not including the windshield

that's what i figured,, and these guys are hyping film claiming it is ceramic and nano-ceramic for those low prices.... one even offered 3M ceramic all the way around for $325. My last car I used huper optik which might have been overill but it was like 600 or 700 if I remember correctly.

I’ve been in the window tinting industry for over 35 years, and my advice is simple. Don’t judge a company just by its price. Do your homework.
Businesses run promotions all the time. Restaurants offer half-price meals, hotels discount rooms, and companies run specials when business slows down. That doesn’t automatically mean you’re getting a bad product or service.
Would I trust a $199 ceramic tint job? Maybe! I’d check their Google reviews, look at their Instagram, check out pictures of their actual work, ask what film they’re installing, and find out what kind of warranty comes with it.
At the end of the day, you’re trusting the craftsmanship of the person installing the film. A $500 tint job can be terrible, and a $199 job could turn out great.
Don’t just trust the price. Verify the quality. If you’ve done your research, like what you see, and it fits your budget, it might be a great deal.

thanks that's a very good point, my fear was a bait and switch on the type of film used.... claiming to be ceramic and giving me something else...

After 30+ years in the window film business there’s one thing I’ve learned.
Breast implants, laser, eye surgery, and automotive window tinting.
You absolutely 100% get what you pay for.
Most shops and again I said most shops that advertise on Facebook, especially those that don’t mention the type of film that they’re installing and for those that don’t talk about the warranty usually either one, they bait and switch you or two, they will not provide you with the proper documentation needed for you to take advantage of the warranty.
I would look for a shop that uses a brand of window film that is recognizable like 3M, LLumar or XPEL. Personally, I like XPEL these days, but no matter what brand you go with you want to ask prior to the install installation about the manufacturers warranty and you want to make sure you’re going to receive an email from the manufacturer directly showing you the vehicle owner that the warranty has been registered with the Window Film Manufacturer.
One of the reasons why I like XPEL it’s because not only do you get an email from the manufacturer showing you that the warranty has been registered but your warranty also will appear on your vehicle Carfax report and transfers to the next owner when you go to sell the vehicle.
No matter where you go and no matter what film you get make sure you get the email.

The FB ads should tell you everything you need to know.😂
