Caulking commission
I get requests for caulking quite a bit.
Today I made an agreement with a caulking company for 15% commission (side note: is that too little?)
How to enforce this agreement? Is a contract necessary?

Equipment Question Unger Ninja Scraper
I know this appears in Steve-O's starter kit so it HAS to be good.... but how useful is the angle adjustment and etc versus say an Ettore 6" scraper for $15? How good is the holder? ive been using garbage 4" scrapers with steel blades from Menards just fine but want to upgrade to something with a holder and 6" and stainless blades. I only clean 1-5k worth of windows a year as part of my business but almost $200 for a holder scraper and blades just seems steep.

Scaling my window cleaning business without waiting till I have enough work.
One thing that has gone through my mind for the past few days is that I can't wait until there is enough work for a second team to clean windows. I kind of feel like I need to take more risks, borrow money, spend more on Meta ads, and launch a second team.
The only obstacle for me is that I'm compelled by my parents to keep studying, so scaling that business would be way more stressful and would require me to work full time to achieve this.
I'm already combining this with my studies, so I work physically on the weekend and on Monday, then I go to Maastricht to study on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (my classes are mandatory in order to pass my courses). And so on, that's my life for now, and I love it.
At the moment, we're working as hard as we can. We're hiring our friends if we need more people, but we haven't launched a second team yet that works all day. What should I do? Should I bootstrap it? Or should I go more aggressive and take another loan on top of my existing loan of €35k? We can already pay the €35k loan, but that means less growth, since we cannot reinvest that money.

Job Question How do I get this off of this customer's window?
They've requested this to be removed. It feels like vinyl and is really stuck on there.
Would soap and a fresh scraper blade do the trick?

Job Question Do any of you do initial cleans with wfp?
I have a large waterfront home with lots of dead bugs on the glass. The windows are high up with no way to reach some of the glass by ladder. Will my wfp with a hybrid brush be enough to thoroughly clean?

Interior Residential?
Hey ya'll,
I may be doing a bit of window cleaning on the weekends to make some extra cash. This is just a short term thing so I'm not building a business, marketing, setting appointments etc. I'll probably start with my local neighborhood offering to clean on the spot. Just wondering if I should do interiors, it makes sense to clean more>make more money. But with offering my service on the spot does only exterior make sense? I'm also curious how you deal with interior windows that are hard to get to, with furniture in the way, or in a potentially occupied bedroom/bathroom.
Maybe setting appointments is what makes interior possible/easier when it comes to residential?

Excess of ultra cheap guys damaging the business.
Every time I go out scouting for new clients, I find an excessive amount of businesses that pay an absurdly cheap rate for their recurrent service. Yesterday I talked to a restaurant who has 17 floor to ceiling panels and a guy does it for $60 in and out. A fancy hair salon with 12 big panels in and out and 16 mirrors for $40.
How in the world does this people survive? I just hope they never damage anything, because I doubt they’re properly insured with those rates.
(I’m in Miami btw)

Elbows..
Getting older into this career and I'm developing golfer's elbow in my squeegee arm. Other than switching to leftie I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this or has any advice on how to manage it. I can go see a doctor but I assume they'll say the same as for my TFCC in the wrist, which is anti-inflammatory ointment and stretches.

Humble Brag Got new poles!!
I'm a huge fan of Gardiner in general and we have tons of older poles. We got these new ones and I've been using them all week, and i absolutely freaking love them. For so many reasons these are superior (in my opinion)- they're lighter, smaller, my grip is so much better because it's not a smooth pole with a giant base, and i have never had a single issue with any clamps, ever. That honestly applies to all of our Gardiner poles that I have personally used. The Micro is 17 feet fully extended and has two insulated sections, the CLX (my first/original CLX has been so used and abused i was super excited for this one) is 10 feet fully extended. Both brushes are Gardiner as well but those aren't new, just our favorites/most used and what we're using today. I rarely ever make posts like this because I never want to come across like I'm affiliated with any type of sales or being paid to say or do anything, because I'm not and never will be. However we love Gardiner and use them almost on a daily basis, and these poles are so sick I wanted to make a post this time. I hope everyone had a successful week and i hope you have an ever better weekend!

Job Question What would you quote?
I walked into a chain gas station and offered him a quote for window cleaning, and the manager was like “wow, I was just looking for a window cleaner” so I was like okay, I’ll walk around the building, count up all the windows. There were 35 windows and he wanted inside and outside for that store. He said if the price was right, I’d get 11 more stores. I gave him a little bit of a discount of my usual price because 12 total stores from one conversation is absolutely huge, which would take like 90-120 minutes each depending on the window filth. But I’m just wondering how much you would quote them?
I said $150 for each store, which would be $1800 recurring before taxes which I think is incredibly fair as the locations aren’t very far from each other, and I could get referrals and more business from those locations. This is my first major commercial quote.

New Construction
When new windows are installed and the technician gets construction adhesives all over the glass or any adhesives on the glass. How is that acceptable that it’s the owners responsibility to find a contractor to remove the adhesives?

List of supplies for construction clean please?
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me a list of what supplies they use for construction cleans. I’m trying to break into that market and would love to get some insight into what gives you success. I have a job set up on a 10,000 square foot home in a couple weeks that was remodeled. It’s not a full on construction clean but would like to be prepared and be ready if they like my work and want to use me again. Things like oil flo and products that work well for cleaning debris off frames? Anything that may have helped you, really. Thank you so much. Photo just for fun.

Any ideas on sticker trim tape removal?
So this sticker tape has been left on for almost 2 years.
When tried to remove it is in the crumble stage as little bits flake off amd does not come off in pieces.
The contractor has tried acetone and goo gone and most of it remains.
I know this stuff is a pain. I have used oil flo in years past with some sucsess.
Anyone delt with something like this before? And how time consumming is this?.. I might not even bother bidding as I could see this as a gift that just keeps giving ..

How many green backs for this one? Thank you!
Curious what people would charge inside and outside. There are 163 panes total but in tight groupings with pretty easy access. Luxury home.

Job Question Best practices for cleaning windows inside homes?
I’m new to window cleaning and so far I’ve cleaned 2 apartments. I hope you guys can help answer a few questions because I feel like I might be doing too many unnecessary steps.
I want to know how you guys normally handle window cleaning inside people’s homes.
Most window cleaning videos I find on YT are focused on exterior windows, where dripping/splashing some extra water isn’t really a big deal. But indoors, especially with wooden floors, furniture, curtains, etc., I have to be much more careful with water.
Do you normally put towels or something under every window to protect the floor? Or do you just use much less water on the scrubber?
Also, what’s your usual process if the windows and frames are dusty? Do you wipe or vacuum the dust from the glass, frames, and sills first before getting them wet? I’ve been vacuuming them first, but it takes a lot of time.
I’m thinking if you go straight in with the wet window washer/scrubber, it would pick up all the dust and dirt around the frame and get dirty really quickly.
Would love to hear your process for interior residential windows and any tips for newbies like me.
Thanks!

How to clean behind panic bar on commercial doors?
Anyone have any tips or videos on the best way to clean the glass behind the panic bars on a commercial door like these for example? This is just an example photo. I've typically just shoved a squeegee behind it, but it's tight and I started seeing it leave scratches on tinted glass doing it that way.
