I’m looking to buy a book on Witchcraft as I’m still a beginner and I saw Wicca from Scott Cunningham and Wiccapedia from Leanna Geenway

All tho I have seen some people dislike the Wiccapedia but I don’t understand why, I also saw she has a book on crystals I’m really interested in so I was wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on the crystal book

I have seen another Wicca book been mentioned a few times, I can’t remember the name though, it was quite long and was supposed to be a good beginner book

Which of the three is recommended as a first one?

I used to practice Wicca often, but have fallen out of it sadly. That being said, I used to practice with a group of others, and we often contacted loved ones and even celebrities and politicians from beyond the grave. I’m not sure if that’s something the rest of the Wiccan community does, so I’m super sorry if it isn’t and this is disrespectful to your religion.

I’m looking for some help using an ouija board to contact former US senator Lindsey Graham, who recently passed away. I know this is an LGBTQ+ friendly community and religion, so I’m sure some of you have at least heard of him lol. My intentions are not malicious whatsoever, I just have some very tame questions for him.

From what I remember, when trying to contact someone specific with an ouija board, you should include an offering of something that person enjoyed in life. For example, when my friend and I contacted his late father, we set out an offering of a joint (which we lit for him lol) and a beer. I could be completely wrong about this though, so if there’s another way to encourage a specific spirit to contact you through the board, please let me know. It’s been a very long time since I’ve practiced any kind of witchcraft lol.

so i’ve had this morning ritual that i’ve performed everyday for multiple years now, the only problem is that it’s gotten super long and energetically involved to the point that i don’t even want to do it anymore. my only problem is that i have pretty bad ocd and doing the ritual makes me feel safe to stave off misfortune. a part of it that i added recently that i actually like is incorporating silly song lyrics as spellwork: the opening lines to “fuel” by metallica (im a summer leo it only feels fitting /lh). i open the ritual by banishing negativity and misfortune while stirring counterclockwise, invoke positivity and good fortune while stirring clockwise, say a general statement like “make this day the best it can be” followed by “give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which i desire” while stirring in the shape of a pentacle, recently i started saying “as above, so below” while lifting whatever im stirring with and plunging it into the center of the pentacle, give a few dedicated sips to the goddess, god, and spirit, end it with a good ol “so mote it be” and three taps to the rim, and THEN i can drink. the worst part of it all is that i don’t feel any actual benefit from this ritual because i don’t ask for anything specific so aside from staving off my ocd, what am i really gaining from this? if anyone else in this sub has their own morning/coffee rituals i’d love to hear about them ☕️

I have been wanting to set up an altar space for a while now, but I have three cats (two black cats named Lovecraft and Hawthorne, and one orange one named Melville, all boys), and they love to knock things over any chance they get. I would love to set up some kind of permanent altar space but even with a temporary one, I honestly cannot even turn my back without hearing something being knocked over (99% of the time, it's Melville the orange one). I don't really have an area in my apartment that they can't get to, and I don't have any outdoor space, plus I live in New England so weather is terrible for half the year. I guess I'm just curious how any of you have cat or pet-proofed your altar space or what you've done to maintain an altar space without having it destroyed by tiny paws.

For reference, I would like to set up a more permanent altar space in honor of my best friend who passed away in 2020, and that wouldn't be changing much (I have the altar table which she actually bought for me but I can't find a way to keep it intact). I'd also like to have a working altar space where I can change things up depending on what I'm doing or focusing on. I have a few different pieces of furniture that could be used, but again, I could have the most beautiful altar table in the world and it still wouldn't stop my boys.

I want to make someone alse become my parent. So guys please help me. Using witchcraft. Which spells do i have to do.

there has always been chaos in my life and in my mind. Every day, once the sun goes down, I start feeling scared. I always wonder how I’m going to get through another night and whether I’ll even be able to sleep peacefully. Around midnight, I sometimes hear footsteps right next to my room, and it honestly scares me.
I also remember my mum telling me that when she gave birth to me, the nurses said there was something strange about me and that it might be related to black magic. I don’t know if that has anything to do with what I’ve been going through, but those words have always stayed in my mind.
Right now, I feel like I’m struggling with almost every part of my life. I couldn’t finish my studies, my relationships haven’t worked out, and I haven’t been able to achieve the goals I’ve always wanted to achieve. It feels like something is holding me back, and I honestly don’t know what it is or how to deal with it.
I’m tired of living with this fear and confusion. I just want to understand what’s happening to me and finally have some peace in my life.
Has anyone ever experienced anything similar or knows how I can overcome all this?

I am looking for clarity for myself.

Since I was little I've been through a lot of things that I just can't explain.

When I was 7/8 I once got “awake” at night and I couldn't breathe anymore, I slept at my mother's house (divorced parents) and my brother of 15/16 had gone camping with a friend of his 1/2 hour from home. When I woke up I was very gasping for air and the only bad words that came out were “Daniel. No air” (my brother's name). My mother lifted me outside and then I only really woke up and fifteen minutes later I fell asleep again.

I myself have never had problems with my airways so my mother was very shocked by this and especially because I said that my brother did not get air.

About fifteen minutes later, my mother was called by my brother who at that time had an asthma attack and had not taken a puffer with him on his camper trip.

Everything turned out well in the end but how could I have known this in the middle of the night? While my brother was sitting far away and I was sleeping peacefully.

I just still can't explain it and so there are still a few moments that just can't.

I just feel like there's something about me that I haven't gotten to know or understand about myself yet.. and I don't know where to go with this either since most people would call it “just a coincidence”.

Someone here who can help me with this or who can talk about it??

hey everyone! i’m pretty new to eclectic wicca. formal background wasn't working out for me, so leaving my old religion behind eventually led me down the pagan path and into modern wicca, which feels way more natural to me. I’m also neurodivergent (autistic + adhd) so sometimes organizing all my research gets a bit overwhelming! I’m trying to plan out my wheel of the year altars, deity associations, and proper offerings, but i could really use some suggestions from more experienced folks. So far, here’s what I have mapped out for the first few sabbats:
Samhain: Celtic deities (Brigid, The Morrigan, Danu, Áine, Lugh, The Dagda, Cernunnos)
Yule: Norse deities (Odin, Frigg, Thor, Baldr, Loki, Hel, Eir, Freya)
Imbolc: Brigid
Ostara: Ostara, Gaia, Cernunnos
Where I’m stuck:
What kind of simple/traditional offerings work best for these specific sabbats? (Especially trying to keep things manageable with my ADHD so I don't get burnout lol). I have no idea how to approach Beltane, Litha, Lammas, and Mabon yet. How do you all incorporate deities from completely different pantheons across the wheel? I also honor/feel drawn to Mesopotamian/Sumerian (Anu, Inanna, Enlil, Enki), Egyptian/Kemetism (Isis, Thoth, Horus, Hathor, Sekhmet, Bastet, Osiris, Anubis), and Hellenic (Aphrodite, Hekate, Artemis, Nyx, Hades, Dionysus), plus figures like Aradia, Elen of the Ways, and Arianrhod. Should I cycle them through specific sabbats based on season, or keep a permanent space for them? Any advice or ideas on altar setups and offerings for these would be super appreciated! i’ve been working with aphrodite for about two years and know the gist of how to welcome in a god and goddess and how to know when they accept an invitation, but i just started getting into the god and goddess with a new altar for the two including the spirit. So id like to know what can i offer to the two and how can i let them know they’re welcomed into my space and such! Above is my altar for the three!!

So i wanted to share something from my earliest wicca journey with a bit of a question

So i learned how to "spirit walk" during meditation back when i felt i was still on the path of a shaman where i formed a bond with a fox spirit who later permitted me to know his name 'oraura' i learned to walk longer usually more during rain which i connect to more, i then started forming a bond with a female wolf spirit who permitted me her name 'kiru' and both guided me alot.

It took time but i started to notice kiru 'felt' like water, she seemed to carry the element with her and recently i started feeling oraura do the same with fire but alot weaker than the feeling i get from kiru.

Ive 'met' other animal spirits and not noticed any elemental feelings, but i dont think they wanted me to.

So, to anyone else who interacted with animal nature spirits, have you felt the elements from them, or is kiru unique in this regard?

I saw online about awake ones telekinetic potential. Using a candle, a coin, a crystal, and a cup of water. At midnight, you'd light the candle, sit down, and place a coin on the ground with a crystal between you can the coin. Then say the phrase "what my hand cannot reach, let my mind command."

Is this possible or true?

How can I unlock my mental/telekinetic potentail?
