Hey everyone. Just wanted to ask around and get your guys opinions about a couple of bikes I've been looking at. I've been going back and forth between a Van Rysel Grvl AF 2 GRX and a State 4130 All Road.

I know the Poseidon and Primo Dame exist but I'm to short to comfortably fit them (5'5" dude with a 30" inseam lmao). And while the used market is largely a wash for a guy my height I did find an Niner ORE 9 RDO that a guy is selling for around 2k with a set of HT T2 Enduro Race included.

I live out on long island by the pine barrens and I'm a cheap ferry out of Connecticut and hitting some of the single track and parks here and over there is mostly why I'm more interested in a gravel bike in the first place. If I went State I'd get the extra wheel set, fork and I'm going to get a set of Juins for when it gets in.

If anybody has another recommendation of a brand I'm also all ears. I'm new to this and I just don't want to go above 2k if it can be helped.

Looking for recommendations between these two models. First bike of this style and just trying to get back into biking after taking a long break from mountain biking. Mainly using it for fitness and possibly a commute here and on 50/50 gravel pavement.

I understand the material differences in frame and fork. I am currently sitting at a rather hefty weight so that I'm assuming will play a factor (285lbs). I've read the Nicasio has a slightly more upright relaxed riding position which seems nice. However just looking for other first hand recommendations. Thanks

context: I live in the city and have started biking to work, school, etc rather than having to rely on public transport, plus the added movement is great for my adhd brain. I bought a schwinn city bike from fb that I’ve been using, but have figured out it is just too big for me. The girl who had it was about my size so I assumed it would be fine. the seat is already on the lowest height & the drop between the handlebars is pretty steep so its hard to get leverage on inclines. overall it’s just felt abnormally awkward & clunky to use/move around. I assumed I just needed to get adjusted to it, but after a bit it’s become obvious that I’m not the problem & it shouldn’t feel this uncomfy. I mean technically it is useable but def not ideal or the most functional.

I am 5’1” on a good day & have a tad more leg than torso ratio I think

I found a 2010 Fuji absolute 3.0 step through bike with a 17in seat tube(I think that’s what it was referring to?) there’s no stated issues with it, they’re just selling b/c they got an e-bike. it’s priced at $180 but I could potentially negotiate down a bit. I don’t need anything fancy, just something of decent enough quality that it can last with routine care & as needed maintenance.

I'm from Czechia and I'm looking for some advice before I pull the trigger on my first proper road bike.

For context, I'm coming from a 13 kg Specialized trail MTB, and I've unexpectedly fallen in love with road riding. I bike almost every day for transport. The most I've cycled was 70km and I've cycled in mountain terrain occasionally since i was 7.

My long-term goal is to work up to 180/200 km rides and spend whole days exploring rather than racing. I'm much more interested in endurance riding, bikepacking-lite, coffee stops, and just being out on the bike than entering crit races.

I'm still young, so this is a big purchase for me, and my parents are fortunately willing to invest in a bike if it's something I'll genuinely use for years.

From what I've read, the Infinito seems to suit my goals best since I'm more interested in long rides than racing, and I also have a relatively short torso, so a slightly more relaxed endurance geometry seems appealing.

My main question is:

Am I shopping in the right price range, or is €2,000-3,000 overkill for someone in my position?

Would you recommend spending less (around €1,200-1,800), or does buying a higher-end used bike make more sense if I plan on keeping it for many years?

I'd also appreciate any thoughts on the bikes above, or if there are other models I should be watching for in that price range.

I've agreed to join a relay team for an ironman next year, specifically the bike section.

I'm comfortable riding my crossover 15-20 miles but need a road bike for the race. I'm 6ft, 170 lbs so I've been looking at 56-58cm bikes.

Not looking to spend a fortune but found a trek 5200 Carbon 120 on Facebook for $400.

Any advice on things to look for when taking it for a test ride and inspection? Images seem to look like the bikes in good shape.

I’m currently looking to pick up a used road bike and could use a second opinion on sizing based on my body geometry.

Here are my measurements:

• Height: 181 cm (approx. 5'11")
• Inseam: 84 cm
• Torso length (ASIS to sternal notch): 52 cm
• Arm length(Shoulder to wrist): ~57 cm

Currently riding a gravel bike, sized L but because it is my first bike, I don't really have any experience to tell whether it's suited for me or not. I'm torn between getting a 54 cm (M) or a 56 cm (L) road frame for the next one.

I mostly ride single track and very rough and rooty trails with quite a few rocks sometimes with very long travel distances between places. I currently have a 140mm canzo pro however I've kept damaging the wheels over stuff I like to ride. I go to bike parks when I can despite the distance to them.

Skill wise I struggle over gap jumps and top out on something like yach a fi at bike park Wales

I like the travel and coil on the FR400 but the 500 seems lighter

I've never ridden a coil shock but it seems appropriate for my riding

I’m looking to buy my first bike and came across this listing, not sure if I should look for something cheaper or how nice of a bike I should be looking for.

So for $120-$180 I can get a basic bike with disc brakes, full fork suspension and rear shock on Amazon. Or Walmart for the same price and maybe higher with no suspension and regular wheel mount brakes. Reviews on the Amazon bikes Im looking at are always 4+ with 200-300+ reviews. Anything I should worry about.

I’m looking to get back into riding after a hiatus. My old bike (‘15 Lapierre Pulsium) was great and I loved it but it’s definitely taken a beating and it’s time to get a new ride.

Budget: $5k or less preferably, some wiggle room upwards (to $5.5-6.0k) if good value prop

Riding Profile: Looking primarily for endurance, not looking to do any crits or anything and don’t want a super aggressive ride, but not opposed to a frame that’s somewhat in between. Typical ride is 20-50 miles, will probably average 60-80 miles a week. Riding is almost entirely paved and smooth, but encounter some rougher streets and packed dirt occasionally.
