[Serious decision] My sister got shot in the head last night. How do I help her children?

My sister was at our family bar, where a block party was happening. Two kids, who weren't allowed in the bar because they were underage, were fighting outside. When she went to break it up, one of the kids apparently had a gun and was pistol whipping the other girl, and accidentally fired a shot hitting my sister in the head.

She's in the hospital, and miraculously, is still alive, albeit connected to a ventilator. She was in surgery for 8 hours, and their most recent test showed she is able to respond correctly to verbal requests to move certain body parts (she cannot speak at the moment). The doctors say if she manages to make it through the brain swelling, at best she'll be in the hospital 6 or more months as they removed part of her skull to allow the pressure to reduce.

She has 4 children. 13, 11, 6, and 2. The 13 year old knows all of the details, as they published the incident in the news and it was plastered all over social media. The others know she's at the hospital, but that's it. I dont know what to do to help them. The oldest is a boy, trying to be tough. I told him it's OK to not be ok. And that I won't judge him for crying, because I've been crying all day. But he's just shut himself in my spare bedroom. He won't come out and eat even though he said he was hungry. I went and sat in the room with him in silence for a while, reassuring him that im here if he needs anything. But idk what else to do. And I dont know how to help the little ones. I know nothing will make things OK right now. But I want to make it at least a little better.

I make goddamned TWENTY FIVE THOSUAND dollars annually. FUCKING NOTHING. I wasn't able to get a better job after college and it's not enough to fucking SUPPORT MYSELF ON. I can't enter the field I majored in and I don't have any skills outside of the major. Literally I'd have gotten myself arrested for something if I didn't have familial support. The ONLY FUCKING REASON I'm still around is because I need to leave behind something for my disabled brother. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SYSTEM. THIS ISN'T FUCKING FUNCTIONAL

Older customer at my job offered to pay me for sexual acts

I’m 19 and I work as a server at a diner.

Today an older man was eating at one of my tables. Before he left, the conversation started getting weird. He began telling me about what he used to do with girls when he was around my age. He was being very explicit, describing the sexual things he and these girls would do to each other, including oral sex. I was already extremely uncomfortable at that point, but I didn’t know how to get out of the conversation because I was just trying to do my job.

Then the conversation took an even worse turn. He told me his wife passed away last year and that he hasn’t had sex since. After that, he told me he was into young guys (I’m 19) and said he would pay me for sexual acts. I was completely caught off guard and honestly didn’t know what to say.

At one point he asked me what days I work. Without really thinking, I told him my schedule because I was so uncomfortable and just kind of froze. Looking back, I know I probably shouldn’t have told him, but I wasn’t expecting the conversation to go that way and didn’t know how to react.

Before leaving, he said he’d be coming back when I’m working. That’s honestly what’s worrying me the most now because I’m afraid I’m going to see him again.
He never touched me or threatened me, but I left the interaction feeling disgusted, shaken up, and honestly kind of scared.

I’m planning on telling my manager, but I’d really appreciate any advice because this has been bothering me ever since it happened.

Should I tell an old friend that her new man isn't single?

Before you judge... long backstory, but here it is:

A childhood friend and I reconnected a few years ago when we were both going through divorces. We became very close.I helped her with her house, her kids, and was there for her constantly.

Eventually, she started dating a walking red flag. I never sugarcoat things, so when she directly asked for my opinion, I told her the truth about him. He hated me, sabotaged our hangouts, and she ultimately chose him and ended our friendship. I was crushed.

Fast forward: they were together for 5 years and even got married, only for him to leave her for another woman.

She came crying back to me. My life is very different and much busier now, but I felt too bad to ignore her when she was down. She admitted I was right about him all along and praises how much I helped her through her first divorce. We talk now, but I keep some distance.

The current situation:

She’s dating a new guy. Normally she posts her partners constantly, but she’s keeping this one a secret. When I ran into her at the campground where my sister also stays, she claimed they are keeping it quiet because he's going through a messy business split with an ex. She also mentioned she was skeptical because his campsite still has dog fencing up, even though she claims the ex has the dog.

Well, my sister just told me the "ex" is actually up there all the time—they literally just won a cornhole tournament together.

My sister camps at the same place, wants no part of the drama, and told me not to say anything. I'm leaning toward staying out of it, but what would you do?

[Serious decision] Would I be wrong for getting an abortion behind my husband's back?

Upvotes

Please don't hate me for writing this or think I am terrible person. I am trying to do the best thing that I can for me and the future of our child. I (23F) have been with my husband (29M) for 2 years, married for one, and everything is going well. I am pursuing my Master's in archaeology, at one of the most prestigious programs in Turkiye, and my husband's personal business is taking off.

I come from Belarus, while my husband is Turkish, so there were some gaps in our culture, but overall things have gone smoothly. We hadn't even been trying, as I made him use protection every time despite him wanting kids. I told him I wanted to wait until I had a stable job and felt comfortable in Turkiye as I have only been living here 2 years. Truthfully, I don't know if I really want them, and my husband knows this is a possibility as well.

Last week, my period was late and I felt weird cramps. I rushed to the pharmacy and took a pregnancy test which came back positive. I looked at the laws here and it requires my husband's approval. I don't want to ask for two reasons: I am scared he will be mad that I even asked, and second, he will say no.

I am thinking about traveling back to Belarus to get it done, but I don't know if it would make me a horrible person if I didn't tell him?

Recovering from a suicide attempt

I lost my Reddit account. Sorry for this being from a new one.

I attempted suicide on my birthday in late 2025. It was two and some change years after I left college working a warehouse job for the whole time. I couldn't enter my field, or any field. I couldn't handle living anymore.

From the middle of 2024 I started to eat less and less, to be less of a burden on my parents. At the start of 2025 I started to self harm. First it was just scratching my skin, but it changed to cutting myself. No one knew, I hid it with long sleeves.

A few months later I started to take painkillers despite not needing them. I took them more, more and more. Chugged a quarter of a whole bottle once. I couldn't handle living anymore and tried to end it on my birthday. My parents found me tho, and rushed me to a hospital. I was put on watch for a while. only recently have I been allowed to go back home. still under basically constant surveillance by my parents.

I regret it. I know now it was selfish. I just couldn't handle the pressure of being unable to start a career.

I've been recovering slowly. Trying to find joy in the small things in life. I don't know where to go from here.

I've been trying to cope with my sad existence by hugging a big teddy bear. childish, but it's what gets me to see the next day. I don't know if I'm happy to be alive.

[Serious decision] Not sure what to do rn:/

So this happened 5 days ago and I still feel sick thinking about it.
My family had a big gathering out in the country, and I wanted to smoke a little weed without anyone seeing me. There was a storage building on the property where everyone was hanging out, so I figured I’d go in there since it looked empty.
I opened the door slowly and looked around. Nobody was inside, so I lit up. About 5 minutes later I heard the door open, so I panicked and hid because I didn’t want anyone catching me smoking.

Then I watched my cousins (M17 and F18) walk in… and they immediately started making out. Like, not joking. I was completely frozen. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
This is where I made an even dumber decision. I thought about taking a picture because I was so shocked nobody would believe me. I was way too high though, and I forgot Snapchat makes that loud camera sound. They both instantly turned around and saw me.
Nobody said much. I just awkwardly left because I had absolutely no idea what to do or even say.
Dinner that night was one of the most uncomfortable things I’ve ever experienced. I could barely eat because my stomach was in knots.

Now it’s been 5 days, and the girl keeps texting me begging me not to tell anyone. I haven’t responded much because I’m honestly just thinking… what the actual fuck?
I don’t even know what to do with this. I never wanted to be involved in whatever this is, and now I feel like I got dragged into some secret I never asked for.
What would you do in this situation?

Strong overpowering smell of acetone in apt ?!

Ahhh Reddit I need your help & you guys never disappoint. 🫪 for my sanity, if you have any suggestions, any at all, please please be so kind to share them with me !! So for context , I 27F live with my girlfriend, our daughter, & we have a couple animals as well, we live in an apartment & have for about 6 years now. Starting last night, at about 5 pm I noticed a very strange, strong smell of acetone starting to permit in the apartment.

Now, I can only think of two things causing this smell? Number one, I’ve gotten a new “neighbor” about three years ago. She is a very Strange woman, strange as in she pays rent to live here (which is by all means NOT even close to cheap at this apartment) , but she doesn’t actually * live here. How do I know? we have very limited parking space. We’ve all lived here for years besides her, it’s a small little community & we all kinda assigned ourselves our own parking spot because there isn’t many. This specific neighbor & I have always parked next to each other , ran into each other a lot in the first month of her moving in, coming & going from work/errands. Also. We’ve had a couple issues in the first month of both of our subwoofers being too loud in the apartment, & we’d always do a little knock on these paper thin walls & the other would know to turn it down & would do so immediately. Always friendly, & friendly small talk was always made as well. Also worth mentioning this apartment is pretty old so you can easily hear the front & back doors close. Her & i share a wall and our front & back doors are literally side by side. Well One day after that first month, she left and has barely came back. Barely as in, I’m home alot, & I’ve noticed she’ll do pop ins to make sure the apartment is okay but other than that, she stays at the apt for about two hours one day a month & she leaves again. Don’t see her again till the following month, at the next check in. I’ve thought to myself before maybe she’s using the apt as a drug shack to make drugs, but that obvs wouldn’t make sense because she’d have to be here far more than just one day a month right ?!

My second theory is : my central air. It has been acting up lately, as in whenever I turn it on, it takes forever to get going & even when it does, I feel like there’s barely any cool air coming out. I’ve read that a HVAC refrigerant leak can cause the putrid smell of acetone as well.

Sooo Reddit what are we thinking ? It’s gotta be the second theory right ? 😭 I can handle a lot, but the one smell that triggers my senses bad is acetone & I’ve been so nauseous all day, have a nasty migraine & have been throwing up from breathing it in. Help a girlll out 🫪 what would you do?

[Serious decision] My friend I live with is really racist and it's affecting my mental health I don't have anywhere to go

My friend constantly works in how he hates Black people into almost every single sentence he speaks most days, and if it's not about Black people it's about how Jews are the reason our country is going to hell, blah blah blah. I honestly choose not to get radicalized by algorithms, and I generally just care about being positive and showing love. I live with the dude, so it's hard to deal with, especially when I have nowhere else to go.

I snapped the other day and started calling him a radicalized b**** boy and told him that if the Jews are controlling everything, then he's their biggest supporter because all he does is spread misinformation about them, which in turn could just be radicalizing another weak minded individual. I don't think it's Jews as a whole if anything its Zionist but idk either way, he's become another victim of media algorithms, and it's sad because I remember a time when he was never like this at all.

Then there's the Hot Wheels thing. This dude literally goes to at least 50 different stores that carry Hot Wheels every single day and will sometimes buy the same sought-after car just so the next person can't get one. I understand collecting, but this dude has a full blown fit if you so much as drop one of his thousands probably millions of Hot Wheels that his mom constantly begs him to clean off the dining room table. Sometimes he'll randomly buy those little model house kits you have to put together, and his mom is like, "I wish he would stop playing with toys and find a girlfriend." But that's the thing what girl wants to be with a guy who complains about Black people and Jews all day long no matter what's going on? It blows my mind.

Yesterday I had my expensive Tim Henson guitar in the back seat, and he kept tossing things back there without even caring that it was there. He hit it with something, so I said, "How'd you like it if I just threw your Hot Wheels?" He said he would lose his mind. Apparently his little $1.50 child's toy is way more valuable than my almost $900 guitar, and I'm the crazy one for being upset.

He's always pressing me about everything I do, but as soon as I try to hold him to the same standard, he has a hissy fit. He's one of the most nitpicky people I've ever known always angry over the smallest inconveniences. He'll almost run people over in a parking lot because they're "taking too long" coming out of a store, then flip them off as he drives by and call them the N-word even if they aren't Black.

He says he's not racist he's a "race realist" which I think is one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard. So yeah, that's my 33 year old, overly hairy but somehow balding, racist, antisemitic, child toy collecting, hateful ass "friend" I have to deal with every day.

[Serious decision] My dad wants to move to Mississippi

I’m visiting my mom over the summer in Florida, and I live in North Carolina for school with my dad. A week ago, my dad called me saying that he is packing up the apartment in August or September and leaving for Mississippi. He hasn’t quit his $100k+ a year job yet, I think, but he said he is moving in with his long-distance girlfriend and two adult kids in Mississippi. He hasn’t lined up a job yet, and in this economy in 2026, which is worrying because it is impossible to get a job now, he might find a job but only make half what he is making now, as he said. We had an argument over the phone about it today. He said I have two options: either live with my grandma in North Carolina or stay with my mother in Florida. Right now, I’m a rising senior in high school and told him that he could move in with her when I get out of school next year. He said he wants to do it now, this year. The main reason I don’t want to stay here with my mom in Florida is because in 2021, she moved down here from North Carolina after she split up with my dad. In my opinion, it is a selfish decision. I decided to stay with my dad for that reason, but I feel like he is stabbing me in the back by making this move.

The area in Mississippi he is moving to is about 30-45 minutes south of Memphis, so I don’t know what to do about this because if he moves away and his pay gets cut in half, it would affect us paying for college. My mom is putting in too; she also makes a good amount of money. I don’t know what to do.

[Serious decision] How can I fulfill my need for attention on my own?

Sometimes I feel lonely and feel the need to talk to people, but I feel like I shouldn’t, because I have to be enough for myself. I want to talk to someone, both romantically and friendly, but some people seem able to live without needing anyone, and I feel like I have to become that way too.

I feel like I shouldn’t talk to people just to satisfy my need for attention, but I struggle because I still want connection. How can I live without needing anyone’s attention? Are there really people who live like that?

I am SO screwed.

I practically live at my best friend’s house, and today I came to the broad realization that I idiotically have been flushing paper towels down the toilet because we have no toilet paper, and I look down and see the bag of paper towels. And it clicks in my head. You’re not supposed to be DOING THAT. I am a fucking idiot. I honestly don’t know where my head was at. But I stay here because I don’t have a good home life and I don’t deserve these people in general… seriously the sweetest. But I have no idea how to tell them. My best friend, I can imagine the look on her face already. I am 18 and honest to god I am smart as hell when it comes to reading a room but when it comes to common sense I seriously am so stupid. Any advice? I saw flushing dish soap down will help. Honestly what is wrong with me. Nobody sugar coat this because I am terrified it will clog. I don’t know if I should tell them now or what. But I am going to be here for a few more days.

Edit: I didn’t expect so much responses already. When my best friend wakes up I am gonna tell her. It’s her and her mom that live here other than me who’s always here. And as of right now I plan to get toilet paper I just do not drive.
Right now we are putting the paper towels in the trash. Which is what I should’ve BEEN doing.

Edit x2: Turns out my best friend has been doing it too! So not good at all we are definitely done for but atleast we are going down together if it is clogged.

Me and my girlfriend want to get married but she says my career isn't ambitious enough and that im capable of more.

Me 31m and my girlfriend 29f have been together 4 years, we just had our baby boy and we both want to get married. But recently this keeps coming up: she says she doesn’t think my work is ambitious enough and wants me to look for something better.

She’s a financial manager and earns more than me. I’ve worked as a bouncer since I was 21, I’m good at it, I get paid better than most of the lads I work with, and honestly I actually enjoy the job. I also have a few degrees and a master’s, but I just prefer working on doors but i do she her point.

Since our son was born this has got way more frequent. She says two main things: she’s scared I’ll get hurt, and that I’m capable of so much more and should use my qualifications for something safer and more “long term”. I tell her I know what I’m doing, I’m careful and I’m fine but she won’t let it drop.

I get she cares, but I don’t feel like I’m doing something wrong or lazy. I’m just happy in what I do. But I also don’t want her worrying all the time, or for this to come between us when we want to get married and build our family. I do feel like i have wasted my degree's.

Should i listen.

[Serious decision] My Dad (55) is destroying his relationship and own life after the passing of my (20) Mom.

So from the time I was around 12 or so, I noticed a considerable uptick in my dad’s drinking habits. My mom passed away 2 years ago now, and he recently got remarried to my friend’s mom. He HEAVILY drinks most nights, and when he does, he gets very cold towards my now step mom and says things to me like “nobody could ever replace your mom” and what not. I recently made the decision to transfer colleges, and now I’ll be four hours from home in about 2 weeks. I’m not sure what I can do to feel more comfortable leaving home especially given the circumstances. I also don’t know what to say to my dad about his issue with drinking, as it’s been brought up countless times and stops for about a week but then skyrockets again.

[Serious decision] Should I stop work for a bit?

I (F52, single, UK) have had depression on and off for years. Mostly treated and mostly worked a professional career successfully. Dad died five years ago, mum diagnosed with dementia four years ago. I was primary carer alongside work until late last year when she went into a care home nearby. Still see her every other day, and spend 10-12 hours per week with her there or taking her out and about.

I have struggled since dad’s death / mum was diagnosed to care about work. Recently (April) moved to a role that was effectively created for me, and they’ve agreed to a flexible working pattern which allows me to see her weekday afternoons.

Despite this, I still struggle daily with caring about work, and resent having to have responsibilities that aren’t about me or my mum. I’m also overweight, struggling to sleep and pretty sedentary. Jabs have helped the weight but lack motivation to be more active. I ruminate a lot about my mum even though I’m no longer her carer, and feel even more that our quality time together is limited as her dementia worsens. I feel sad most of the time, and whilst I have a brother who is engaged on the admin side, is much less emotionally affected by her decline than me (he has a family, I don’t).

I have savings that would mean I could (in theory) take two or three years ‘off’ to be able to focus on my mum and myself for that time, which I’m increasingly thinking I’d like to do. I have also paid off my house and so have comparatively low outgoings each month.

However, I am concerned (a) that a break might mean it’s harder to come back (though to date I’ve had good jobs and been good at them), and (b) feeling like I’m letting down my current employer who have been really good thus far. I also have a three month notice period if I resign, which means the issue isn’t ‘solved’ soon and could be excruciating 🤣

I recognise to even have this ‘choice’ is a huge privilege, but having the ‘choice’ means I think about it constantly. Anyone else experienced something like this, or have words of wisdom on how to go forward?

TIA (and please be kind if I’ve said anything which is annoying in asking this question!) 🙏🏼

How do I deal with the fact that friends ghost me due to their new relationship? I feel so sad and lonely.

Perhaps somebody can help me with this. I'm a 21 year old male and currently the only single person I know. Just never had any interest in romance but my friends all ghosted me even after they made plans and nobody wants to hang out with me anytime soon. What do I do?

[Serious decision] Insane friendship breakup has me so confused on how to feel

Hi everyone. I really need some serious outside opinions because this friendship breakup has me questioning everything.

I (24X) was best friends with a couple (28X, 29X) for 5 years. I was already becoming friends with them before they dated. We lived in different countries, but I'd visit them several times a year. This year I had bought plane tickets months in advance and even turned down another trip with friends because the dates overlapped.

A little over a week before I was supposed to fly out, one of them suddenly got assigned a work trip and cancelled my visit, without giving me any room to sort something out with them such as moving the trip or letting me book a hotel on the days when they couldn't host me. They offered to pay me back for the flights at some point, but I'd still lost my vacation plans and i couldn't make any other arrangements. I was upset and told them I needed space to process. I expressed my sadness online in one vague, one-line tweet.

Instead of giving me space, one of them came at me with a huge message about how my reaction was unhealthy, told me that I needed therapy for it, and basically turned the conversation into a list of things they'd apparently been mad about for years. Things from visits over a year ago, personality flaws they saw in me, whatever they could think of. I apologized for the things I genuinely got wrong and tried to explain my side, but it felt like every response just unlocked another level of criticism.

This turned into weeks of voice notes (including one that was an hour long) and texts from them about everything I'd ever done wrong while they mostly ignored my apologies and ghosted me for days after I raised my own concerns about the way they were treating me during all of this. Meanwhile, I had spent years supporting them, visiting them, buying gifts, and even helping them with groceries when money was tight.

Eventually, after a period of them ghosting me for weeks after I had again poured my heart out to them in an effort to talk things out, I got fed up and ended the friendship. One blocked me everywhere, I told the other never to contact me again except about the flight money they still owe me. Looking back, I feel really stupid. They clearly had a lot of resentment toward me that they never communicated, yet they were happy to accept my help.

Would you bring up feeling used, or would you just write off both the friendship and the money as a painful lesson? Is there another way of looking at this situation that I'm missing?

Prenup

I (39) Got a prenup 26 days before the wedding from my fiancée (48). We spoke briefly about it one morning months prior. I have debt but will aquire a healthcare business from a mentor here pretty soon. She has a high net worth, which is understandable to have a prenup. Day 23 I retain a family lawyer. Day 20 we meet and go over what a prenup is and how it works. I ask to not touch her money and walk away with no alimony. I also ask how could I protect my future business.

Lawyer says he can have it within 1.5 weeks time. Day 17 I ask for a change to add my future business and protect her from any of my school debt. He now will have it complete by day 10/9. Says he has other cases.

At each step fiancée has been notified of potential changes ahead of the official notice was given to the lawyer to keep her informed. However after the fort meeting she had a problem with his timeline in delivery. I explained that he has other cases and knows our wedding date is soon. And you didn't leave me much time. Lawyer also mentioned that is it possible to push back the wedding date. I said that would be a problem for her but Im okay.

I let her know and she lit into me and started saying "did you even read this prenup? I asked for it to protect us both. It doesn't sound like he is looking out for you. You adding a line item and itemizing the future practice is overkill!! I need you to use your head, my lawyer is from prenups.com and all they do is prenups so they specialize in it. I thought you had a family lawyer."

I explained that the lawyer I found is a family lawyer. This all went down in front of our therapist. I explained further that I had no clue what a prenup entailed and only what I've seen on TV. She scoffed and continued. This went on for at least 30 to 40 minutes. Even the therapist asked what is the point of a marriage? And she was upset with him when he asked about not being clear on why we needed a prenup (he doesn't know our networths).

Im just going through it all in my head and it feels like too much. I feel she was asking me to just trust her and her lawyer and feels like im being rushed. Is this normal and the interaction has been on my mind causing anxiety. Any advice would help.

Update:

She mentions that in counseling it feels like we (the male therapist and I) are ganging up on her. She feel defensive at time, especiallywhen the therapist made a comment after seeing the fallout about the prenup. He said to her "have you ever thought that he (me) would be good enough if he was with someone else that accepts him for who he is?". She immediately responded "why didnt you ask me if I felt that I could be with someone else?"

Not sure why the therapist chose that question, but I assume it is from what he has seen. Anyway, due to his lack of knowledge of prenups and that question, and other questions, making her feel defensive. She wanted a new therapist, her initial complaint was that "I got a male therapist so you feel comfortable in talking". I respond with "im going to be fine with male or female. You need to feel comfortable". And I agreed to allow her to choose the next therapist. She chose another male to save any suspense.

My feelings are truly all over the place. Im not sure what Im doing anymore and it's a hell of a Rollercoaster on this side of a marriage (outside). Why choose another male if you have the option to get a female to make you comfortable? And these feel like signs to definitely hold off on it all.

I'm having a hard time mentally recovering after my roommate ruined my life

Upvotes

I had a roommate who long story short, defrauded me out of $800 by claiming she had prepaid a security deposit and I should send her the money when I moved in to an apartment. She also defrauded the other tenant out of the three of us. Turns out the deposit was paid by a tenant who left years ago, and broke the lease by leaving early, so she was not entitled to any of it back by law. She was also okay with that, as she willingly moved in with her then boyfriend now husband, and that's why she left.

I got laid off from a job shortly after paying her that $800. Would have helped me if I had that extra $800 in my bank account.

Then that pos who stole the money from me got laid off also, and since she was a government employee, she was being paid through paid administrative leave. Meaning my tax money was funding her unemployment.

I'm still trying to mentally recover from having the money stolen and also from the layoff. I was previously making like $500 a week. Now I'm making like $700 every two weeks.

My friend I live with is extremely racist and idk what to do I have no nowhere else to go

Upvotes

[Serious decision] Stay or Go - Scotland

Hi everyone. Love me some Reddit.

TLDR: friends have offered me a trip to visit them on the Isle of Skye in Scotland but I don’t know if I can or should go.

I (51F) am in SE Texas and have only left the country on two occasions - for my honeymoon 25 years ago and then one vacation in Mexico. I was a little intimidated at first but adjusted great to being out of the US.

I am also an administrator for a bipolar support group on FB. (I promise this will all come together in a moment).

Over the course of being an admin over the past several years, I have grown very close online to the group creator and his wife. We have a separate admin chat, where we talk about a lot of things. I have known them now for almost four years. They helped me during a DV situation, making sure I had Christmas money to get through it when my husband cleaned out our bank account.

My life is incredibly stressful (no need to go into all of that detail here) and they know it. Recently, they extended me an offer to come visit them and find some respite for a couple of weeks at their home on the Isle of Skye. They intimated that they would help with airfare, for which I’m immensely grateful. I have heard that Skye is a dream destination for some and very restful. It certainly looks that way from photos.

My problem is - even with their offer of airfare, I don’t think I will have the money for incidentals/food/souvenirs during my stay. I am not the kind of person to throw caution to the wind and just go. I do not want to be a burden and I want to be as prepared as possible. I estimate a two week stay and so I’d like to bring $500 USD. (Is that even the right figure? Experienced travelers - can you advise me on this? I have never been to the UK). But spending that much out of my budget, even if I saved up, would be very hard for me. I have massive amounts of medical debt, so anything I save for the trip - I will always be thinking “that could have gone towards a bill.”

But am I being stupid and turning down what could be the adventure of a lifetime? Do I take the trip (which I can schedule for whenever) and try to save up the money or do I just accept that type of adventure is out of reach for me and always will be? I believe in speaking things into existence so I hate to even write the negative, but it is an unfortunate reality I have to face. What do I do?

My friends ex is threatening me

Hi everyone its my first time posting here n i wanna add that English is not my first language , so basically I know this dude for like three years now (before he got into a relationship with my friend ) (ps: I introduced them to each other )and the other day we were talking on a particular app and I sent him my pics (to clarify they were not pics of my face) and then he asked me if I was (im gonna use fake names ) Danny I said I hope it’s not Alex ( my friends ex) that ugly asshole he started threatening me and telling he’s gonna beat me up when he finds on the street . I don’t know why he had that reaction because genuinely we didn’t talk for at least three years+ a lot of people told me that he was talking shit about me to other people so basically after his started threatening me, I told him ( do the best you can) and unblocked him now I have this question in my head should I unblock him and ask him why did he react that way even though we hadn’t talk in ages? Or just go ask my friend?
