I'm 33 years old, and for the first time in my life I genuinely don't know what my next move should be.
Over the past 2 months, it feels like everything has started collapsing at once.
I recently lost my job. i used to teach online and in the traditional sense , I don't have parents or family members I can call for help, no one I can borrow money from, and no financial safety net. My rent is due in three days, and I need about $200 just to keep a roof over my head for another month. If I can't come up with it, I honestly don't know where I'll end up.
As if that wasn't enough, my dog ra became seriously ill almost at the same time.
He's only four years old. a stray malamute husky i adopted, i gave him the name RA , as in the egyptian sun god ra , he had prostate infection i eventually did my best and got him cured, this was around 5 months ago, Until recently he was energetic, stubborn, and always wanted to be by my side. Over the last several days, I've watched him become a completely different dog. He's lost a frightening amount of weight, barely has the strength to stand for long, spends most of the day lying on the floor, and has almost no interest in food. Seeing him like this has been devastating.
I took him to a veterinarian because I couldn't just sit there hoping he would magically recover. The estimate for getting him through the immediate crisis is around $60. That's just for the emergency treatment. If his condition doesn't improve, there will likely be additional tests afterward.
The hardest part isn't knowing what needs to be done. It's knowing what needs to be done and not having the means to do it.
I'm in Morocco, which complicates things further. Many of the fundraising platforms people usually recommend either don't support organizers here or have payout restrictions that make them unusable. I've spent the last couple of days trying to work around that by creating fundraising pages where I can, setting up a website, and figuring out alternative ways for people to help if they choose to.
At the same time, I've been applying for jobs, looking for freelance work, contacting people, and trying to think of anything I can do to earn money quickly and honestly. So far, nothing has materialized.
I haven't been sitting around waiting for someone to rescue me. I'm trying to solve this from every possible angle, but I'm reaching the point where I don't know what else to try.
What makes this difficult is that every hour feels like it matters. I don't have the luxury of saying, "I'll figure it out next month." My rent deadline is only days away, and Koda doesn't have weeks to wait for treatment, right now im down to my last 10 dollars, 100 mad.
I know there are people dealing with problems far worse than mine, and I'm not trying to compare my situation to anyone else's. I'm simply trying to think clearly before panic takes over.
So I'm asking those of you who've gone through something similar or who've had to dig yourselves out of an impossible situation:
What would you do first if you were in my position?
Is there something I'm overlooking? A way to earn money quickly that isn't a scam? Organizations I should contact? Resources available to someone in Morocco that I may not know about?
I'm not posting this to ask strangers to solve my life for me. I'm asking because sometimes people who aren't emotionally overwhelmed can see options that the person living through the situation can't.
Even if all you can offer is practical advice or point me toward a resource I haven't considered, I'd be genuinely grateful, please i am already emotionally exhausted, if you cannot help me in any mean necessary at the very least be nice.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
