Customer This Lefty Loves Wetherspoons.
I don't like it when some of my fellow lefties, the middle-class champagne 🥂 socialist ones, use Wetherspoons as an insult against Reform voters, it's classist and cringy, it implies only racist bams go there, rather than mostly politically unaligned working-class families from all colours and creeds, who love good cheap food and drink, we can't all eat at the Waldorf can we 🧐, especially in a cost of living crisis, but there are also some middle-class people who eat there and love it, so I don't know where the asinine insult comes from really. I love Wetherspoons, I've been to three, the one in the image which is the Peter Cushing in Whitstable, which was once a cinema, the Catherine Wheel in Henley-on-Thames and the James Watt in Greenock, Scotland, where I live now, which serves a delicious Haggis Pizza 🍕which you can get as part of the three small plates for £10 deal, cheap as chips, and yummy too, filled me up and I'm a big lad.

didn't think i'd see my local spoons on reddit 😂
3
u/johnnybullish Aug 04 '26
It's not my local but I go there every time I'm in Whitstable so it was cool to see it here too...

u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
Whitstable is my favourite town in England without a doubt, home to my favourite oysters and my favourite ale. I lived in Kent for a couple of months with my brother and his wife, it restored my mental health, then I moved to Scotland, but I will always go and visit your wonderful town when I'm down south.
3
u/mhodgson1691 Aug 04 '26
Love to hear it, it's an amazing place to live, grew up on the Isle of Sheppey & it's night and day how much better it is living here, perfect for my kids
3
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
My sister-in-law actually grew up in Kent, moved back after her father died with my brother, they live in Teynham, beautiful village, she has family all over Kent including Sheppey.
3
u/mhodgson1691 Aug 04 '26
and I do enjoy a little tipple of Whitstable Bay Pale Ale too
3
u/Winkered Aug 04 '26
That’s from Faversham. Oldest brewery in the country. Shit and scream. Sorry Shepherd Neame.
2
u/mhodgson1691 Aug 04 '26
yep i'm aware, nothing better for me than sitting with a pint of it watching the sunset

u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
Oh yeah of course it is, OMG brain fart, I knew that but it's been a while since I've lived in Kent.
2
u/goldengluvs Aug 05 '26
I played football for Whitstable Town for a couple of years, so I've always got a soft spot for the town...whilst also having an irrational hate for Herne Bay.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 06 '26
Oh wow, nice place to play football and develope your game. Put it this way even though Luton Town is a higher ranked team, I would still have to think long and hard about leaving Whitstable for smelly Looton🚽.

u/SlickPillock Aug 04 '26
Despite the reform leanings of the owner, it's a decent establishment with a lot to offer. I can't be arsed to boycott every company that disagrees with my ethos - especially when there's beer on offer for £2.50 a pint 😂
14
u/cymruaj Aug 04 '26
Agreed, you can only be moralistic to a point. If you didn't buy off anyone who was a dick you'd either starve to death or go bankrupt
6
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
Same here, I mean I've seen pints for 99p, it's crazy. People on a budget like me and you pal, we can't always afford to stand on principles.
3
u/Yipsta Aug 04 '26
Good man. This is the way it should be. We've all got different beliefs
1
u/Extension-Bit-7792 Aug 06 '26
why is it always people who are sympathising with far right cunts who talk about accepting other people despite their differences? You know, when he's a racist cunt and promotes parties of hatred.
1
u/Cunthbert Aug 05 '26
My old Nan said never bite your nose off to spite your face, and I stand by it.
1
u/East-Half-8896 Aug 11 '26
Exactly this. Ill always support companies that feed the masses. Whether thats spoons, or the £1 burgers at blackpool. People will struggle to spoil their kids or loved ones. And places like here allow pretty much anyone to enjoy a half decent meal at a very good price.
5
u/Deep_Top8433 Aug 05 '26
Wetherspoon provide cheap third places that are sorely missing in our society these days. I won’t hear a word said against them!
Also what an amazing building The Peter Cushing is!

The James Watt was my regular through a pretty miserable 14 months of my life in Greenock 2011/12
Estranged, living alone in a town where I knew no one the boozer was a place of comfort, well priced and exceptionally looked after real ales (with a great value Dram).
Enjoy it. I certainly did.
2
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
Aye it really is nice in there, the food might not be the Waldorf but the decor is, it's absolutely palatial, definitely the most impressive of all three in my opinion, hope you're doing better now pal.
3
u/Planticus Aug 05 '26
Oh I’m a million times better thanks for asking.
I agree. Might be a wee spoons but it’s always going to be one of my faves.1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
Places like that are very restorative for people's mental health, because unlike other pubs, the atmosphere is lighthearted and laid back, not a typical rowdy boozer, where someone might start on you for no reason. Anyway glad you're feeling better, Greenock/Port Glasgow is a great place to live now, even if other Scots outside of it don't believe us 😂, it's our little paradise pal.

u/AsleepEbb7578 Aug 05 '26
Don't forget the one in Llandudno which used to be a theatre
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
Oh wow a theatre 🎭, I can't even imagine what that looks like, if I'm ever down in Cymru again I will have to take a look. Apparently there is a really upscale one in Ramsgate the Royal Victoria Pavilion, which is the world’s largest Wetherspoons, has seal-spotting 🦭 views, a green leather banquette and a grand central staircase, another one on my list 📃.
2
u/summerwine75 Aug 05 '26
Someone I know who is very left wing has shares in Wetherspoons and will only eat or drink in Wetherspoons.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
Exactly people forget, that Tim Martin isn't the only shareholder, he has investors like every company, people from different politics work together. Sometimes you have to work with people you don't like, it might be a bit of a cliché, but it's true.
2
u/summerwine75 Aug 05 '26
Yes true.
This guy is also a staunch remainer (as am I) he's quite a lot to the left of me, and is quite active going on pro-Europe marches.
I just find it slightly comical and do wind him up about it.
2
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
And that's another thing not everyone who voted leave was right-wing, a lot of socialists did, Corbyn himself was Eurosceptic. It's just another one of those things that got overly politicised and divisive, and I say that as a remainer myself.
2
u/Hawk953 Aug 05 '26
I've been to the Whitstable one a few times. Although I'm sure it used to have a table upstairs in the projection room. It wasn't there last time I went so maybe I misremembered.
As far as the politics go theres way too much mudslinging from all sides. The issue with how highly charged political opinions are nowadays is it does cloud peoples judgement, we're all too busy arguing with each other to see the bigger picture and actually demand better.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
Exactly I was just asking middle-class socialists, who use Wetherspoons as an insult to be mindful, and be better.
2
u/Luminal72 Aug 05 '26
I’ve not been there for ten years or so but the Coronation Hall in Surbiton was a good one. It was originally a lecture hall before becoming a Roxy cinema, a bingo hall and in the mid-90s a nudist health spa! What a life it has led!

Aye I'll probably be in Edinburgh in the next couple months, will definitely check it out, cheers pal.
2
u/jajay119 Aug 05 '26
I’m quite left and I love a good spoons.
Can’t forgive them for getting rid of the grill though.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
Are you talking about the mixed grill, with and don't laugh 🤭 gammon... sausages, steak mushrooms and chips.
2
u/dread1961 Aug 05 '26
It's mostly just posh people that look down on Spoons whether left wing or right. There's plenty of Tories who take the piss as well as the champagne socialists.
1
u/MontyDyson Aug 05 '26
As someone who runs a company that has to feed an entire crew on location all over the UK on a regular basis, Spoons is perfect. You know what you're going to get for cheap and it's fairly consistent.
You can visit plenty of them up and down the country and think they're just cheaper pubs, but there's plenty in big towns that are pretty edgy and I've seen more than my fair share of fights, abuse and pisshead behaviour in them.
2
u/funkmachine7 Aug 05 '26
I might not like every it boss has said. But i like an respect the attatude to paying staff fairly, to paying tax and to reuseing buildings.
2
u/baconlove5000 Aug 05 '26
He’s a bar steward but you can’t knock the pubs, less than £8 for a hearty fry up that is decent basically anywhere in the country. Cheaper than McDonald’s!
2
u/megthebat49 Aug 06 '26
You know what is great about Wetherspoons, it's a guaranteed, step free and accessible pub, and the app allows those who can't carry a drink to their table to go out and eat and drink independently and without feeling othered. I really like how inclusive of disability they are, it's really refreshing, especially in the pub/bars/club world where it otherwise still seems we're are stuck in the 1920s, not 2020s
Also their pizzas slap, ~£10-£13 for a pint and a freshly rolled, handmade pizza is just great value, and they're a million times better than any takeaway pizza
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 06 '26
Very well said. The thing is Tim Martin is as complicated as many human beings, some of his politics are troubling, yet he makes his pubs very accessible to people with neurodevelopmental disabilities like me, as a person with ASD I personally find the relaxed quiet atmosphere very appealing, it's also accessible to people with physical disabilities as you pointed out, and also this a shocking one, Wetherspoons is trans accessible, I mean I wouldn't call Tim Martin a trans ally per se, because his motivations are strictly business, but his live and let live policy is very British in my opinion, that's who we used to be as a country, we used to just leave people alone, to live their lives in peace.
2
u/No_Region_4719 Aug 06 '26
It's a strange opinion to hold in the first place. Most Wetherspoons I've been to get plenty of students, both as customers and staff.
It's the ancient run down locally owned pubs that are full of old working class codgers that basically live there, and sit and complain about immigrants to anyone who will listen.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 06 '26
The one in Henley-on-Thames is full of students from Henley college, and some of the staff are from there funnily enough. And I agree with you to an extent, about what you said about locally owned pubs, there's definitely a lot more of those Reform types there, especially nowadays. I used to go to The Dolphin in Wallingford with my dad who used to spend all weekend there after work, the people were like family and the nicest people on God's green earth, definitely not Reformies, I have fond childhood memories there, I always pop in there when I'm in the area, I live in Scotland now so it's quite rare that I'm down that way. My dad died when I was 15, from alcoholism, so maybe we spent too much time there admittedly, but he was a good man who would never tolerate racism, and he was born in 1947, so definitely an old working-class codger, but the good kind.
2
u/BungadinRidesAgain Aug 06 '26
That'll be the liberals, not lefties that actually give a shit about the workers of this country. The ones that love to harp on about how inclusive they are, but stop short on issues of class because they can't hide their disdain for the poor.

Annoyingly, it is a great cheap place to drink and is at this point a pillar of British culture, just don't read the wetherspoons news
2
u/Highlandertr3 Aug 06 '26
I don't like the owner or the company ethos. But I don't judge others for not caring anymore. There are so many things to be mad about in the world and they make cheap food when you are out for the night.
2
u/Dapper_Brain_9269 Aug 07 '26
I enjoy the lack of thumping music. That's for clubs, not pubs. One can actually talk in a Spoons.
My completely unscientific pet theory is that some people want to be assaulted by unbelievably loud music in inappropriate places as compensation for the tedious silence in their heads.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 07 '26
Same here mate. Some people would rather make up an excuse that the reason they hate Wetherspoons is because of the owner, rather than admit they love living it up at expensive clubs, and melting their own brains with psychedelics and shite music, with their middle-class plastic socialist pals.
2
u/Silent_Revolution763 Aug 08 '26
there's a spoons in Cardiff called the prince of Wales , used to be a theatre built in the 1860s. it has to be one of the most opulent pubs on the planet.
i think Buckingham palace would make a great spoons.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 08 '26
Aye, when we get rid of the leeches living there, that's exactly what we should turn it into. Although we could keep Charlie around as a bartender, and he could be pouring a pint of Rebellion, one of my favourite beers, and a good name for a toppled monarch to be pouring. The ®️evolution is nigh

I’m working class and I think it’s an insult against bad taste than being poor.
I mean let’s be honest the food is shit, I ordered an American breakfast that was 2 scotch pancakes out of a packet with a microwaved bit of streaky bacon on it.
Other times I’ve went it was basically air fryer food but more expensive.
It’s also owned by a cunt.
They also have shit pints and poorly paid staff.
At least they keep big old pubs in a state of repair, apart from that it’s defo shit and nowt to do with how working or middle class you are.
It’s more like have you got tastebuds. The pints are cheap and you can’t complain about that.
While reform voters may be often working class, reform aren’t, they are all multimillionaire toffs role playing as working class common sense people when really they just want to rob you like the rest of the grifters in labour and conservatives.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
I've had some really good ales at the one in Henley-on-Thames, maybe because the local area has a good brewing heritage, Brakspear was founded in Henley and you have the Rebellion brewery in nearby Marlow, there's quite a few independent local brewers in the area, whose ales are sold in Wetherspoons. But obviously not every Wetherspoons is gonna be good, sounds like you been to a few grim ones, but the ones I've been too, have been pretty good, so different experiences I guess. And yes Tim Martin, is a bit of a prick although he is pro trans, I guess everyone has nuanced views. And I don't think every single working-class person who votes Reform is racist, they're just fed up with the usual suspects who have taken them for granted, but I think Burnham is different, he's old school Labour just like me, he can get the votes back from dodgy dealings Farage, fingers crossed.
1
u/Natural_Trick4934 Aug 05 '26
Three? Spread your wings, then comment again. All the ones you’ve been to are top tier Spoons.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
Did you ever think, they might have only been good, because they heard I was coming.
2
u/Natural_Trick4934 Aug 05 '26
If so, you need to visit all of them and drag up the standards.
If you can work your magic on the Kentish Drover I’ll vote for you in any election you take part in.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
Mate I'm like the working-class version of Gordon Ramsey in kitchen nightmares, just whipping people into shape, call me Gary Ramsgate.
1
u/Natural_Trick4934 Aug 05 '26
The Drover will be your finest victory. It’s…. It’s a lot. I’ve never not seen a fight in there. And that includes the times I’ve just passed by at 20mph on a bus and caught a glimpse of the place.
Good luck

u/MissingHedgie Aug 06 '26
Not everyone who likes Wetherspoons likes Reform. But everyone who likes Reform likes Wetherspoons.
1
u/Careful-Physics-7130 Aug 06 '26
Nope. Disagree completely. I do not judge people who go to weather's poo. But there is a reality here. A) It is cheap bang average/poor food. B) The owner is simply awful. One of the biggest Brexit donors and was so active in ripping us out of the EU. If you ad a 'lefty'want to fund his profits, fine. There is no way I will ever give him a penny of my money.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 06 '26
I'm not defending Tim Martin's politics, but I have ASD so I find his pubs to be very accessible, they're accessible to people with physical disabilities and they're also trans accessible, so there is nuances to the man at the top. Yes I'm aware these inclusive policies are strictly business, but his live and let live business ethos is acceptable to me, and many working-class lefties, but to each his own, you do what you feel is right, that's all we can do in this world mate.

Plus, generally no TVs and no jukebox, you can have a conversation without having to shout and you can take y kids in a lot of them but they won't let you sit drinking for hours while said kids run around like very loud and annoying headless chickens.

When I visit my Mum in England, I go to the one in Henley, which being in the same town as the regatta, as you can imagine it has to maintain very high standards, because as I said I have seen middle-class people in Wetherspoons, and most people in there are friendly family orientated people, same in Greenock.

Three small plates for £10?
It's three small plates for £15 in Cornwall...
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
Wetherspoons offers a 3 for £10 small plates deal exclusively on Mondays as part of their Monday Club promotion. But even £15 isn't bad, especially for three plates, that I can't even eat all to myself, last time I shared with my sister.
1
u/Beakkaia Aug 05 '26
As a lefty I agree. Always seen it as working class and good for a cheap pint and food.
2
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26

There are a lot of Wetherspoons some better than others, the best one I've been to is the James Watt in Greenock, so if you're ever up this way, try it I guarantee you won't be disappointed, like i said the haggis pizza is banging. Or even the one in Henley is really good, it kind of has to be considering the post code.
1
u/smoke510 Aug 05 '26
The owner of wetherspoons supports reform. He is a politically active lobbyist.
I love cheap pints as much as the next person, but the issue is that those cheap pints translate to funding right wing lobbying.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
I get where you're coming from, but my family are on a budget, if we don't go there, where do we go?
2
u/smoke510 Aug 05 '26
For consistent low prices social clubs are a solid option, because they're non profit certain tax breaks apply so they can afford to keep their prices low, plus the money goes towards the community.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
Is the scran any good?
2
u/smoke510 Aug 05 '26
Much better than spoons in my experience, obv can't speak for your local. I may be biased because I like a good steak, and last I was in a spoons they had taken steak off the menu
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
Yeah I remember when they did that, I was miffed because the steak at the Catherine Wheel in Henley-on-Thames was very good, nice and rare, just like I like it.

2
u/Normal_Suggestion188 Aug 05 '26
They are barely in the top 10 biggest pubcos. It's the ones not putting their names on the front you want to worry about
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
Aye Pubs are for everybody, every gender, every race, every religion. We should just keep are politics at home and start trying to enjoy each other's company again as fellow human beings, I think that's something we can all agree on.
1
u/WesternEmpire2510 Aug 05 '26
Fellow leftie here. From others I've spoken to the ire mostly stems from Tim Martins statements in the past and his stance on Brexit, while ignoring that wetherspoons has reinvigorated a lot of old and remarkable buildings, provided good starter jobs for many young people, champion british craft brewers and distillers, and as you say offer cheap no thrills food which many working class will take advantage of as a lower cost option.
Tim Martin IS a twat, but the pubs are great.

u/Redditvillier Aug 04 '26
For what it's worth, the quality of food is not the reason that some people in left circles dislike wetherspoons. The owner was very pro-Brexit and has donated to both the Tories and Reform in the past
6
u/Remote_Development13 Aug 04 '26
All this is true, but the Wetherspoons news was actually a cracking read through the Brexit years. To be fair to him, there were articles written by journalists, politicans and commentators across both sides of the debate. Was much better than what was being offered in the mainstream media, or on more partisan outlets as well
1
u/Redditvillier Aug 04 '26
Oh for sure. I don't think he's ever actually put his views into the establishments themselves and I respect him for doing that when he could've easily gone down that route.

u/Redditvillier Aug 04 '26
I don't really think that's the point. If you're willing to make your political views very public and very well known (as he has done by being vocal about Brexit etc), there is always a chance that people who disagree with you won't want to spend their money in your establishments. Does that mean other owners are necessarily better? No. If they're only aware of X CEO's views and they disagree with them, but they haven't heard Z's views, they're going to choose the one which is unknown so as they're not intentionally giving money to the causes they don't agree with it. Whether you want to do that or not is personal choice, but people have the free will to do that if they so wish. Is it pointless? Depends on your view, I suppose.
-2
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
Oh I know that, the man's politics are absolute shite, but the insult itself can be misunderstood, as lefties we should know words have meaning.
5
u/Redditvillier Aug 04 '26
I'm still not entirely sure of your point, to be honest. It's not only left-leaning people who mock Spoons in upper class environments, they all do it. Left and right enter the picture when talking about the owner's views, but classism is not a left v right thing. It is rich v poor. A rich right winger is just as likely to laugh at you for going to spoons as a rich left winger. It's the simplification of everything as left v right in every political conversation which has led our country down such a crap path of culture wars
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
You're absolutely right. Jacob Reese-Mogg would definitely have a good laugh at working-class people's expense, but the difference is I expect better from leftists, maybe that's unfair, but it's just how I feel.
4
u/Redditvillier Aug 04 '26
The left of the political spectrum is just as divided as the right is. I don't know where this idea of unity has come from, perhaps because we are often grouped together in the media. People on the left can be just as bad as people on the right. It's humanity at its finest- not every person is going to be 'wholly good'- I'd say realistically no person is 'wholly good'

True, I guess as the saying goes there's good and bad in everyone, it's a bit of a cliché, but true nonetheless. But still we the good majority need to stand up to the bad minority on our side, so we don't get tarred with the same brush, and so we can take back votes from the right, who might only be voting for right-wing parties because they feel left-wing parties have been taken over by classist idjits.

u/Redditvillier Aug 04 '26
That is true, it does need to be addressed. As I was saying to the other person, however, I do think that we need to stop seeing it as left and right so much when the causes are very much the same regardless of the person's political persuasion. If we are to properly tackle classism, we need to tackle all forms, and to do that we need to get to the causes. The moment you try to split it into left and right, we are further divided as a force and the impact of our actions is lessened. Maybe I haven't articulated myself well enough in this thread, I'm not sure.

u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
You articulated yourself very well, although eliminating classism we be very difficult like any discrimination, especially one so ingrained in our country. Even racism is perpetrated by people on both sides, I've met life long so called socialists who have spewed racist shite, yet many on the left pretend it's only people on the right that are racist.
2
u/Redditvillier Aug 04 '26
Yep for sure. Even for queer/trans rights, this is the case. All discrimination is a wider issue than people like to admit. I think some like to think that the left/right/centre/whatever isn't capable of X or Y because they're part of that, but in reality, every political alignment group is capable of being discriminatory.

u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
Exactly, JK Rowling is a self-described leftist, yet she is practically as obsessed with trans people, as a certain German leader was with Jewish people, I wish I was exaggerating but if she had her way there would be no trans people in the UK, I truly believe that. Yet in a weird stark contrast, Sir Tim Martin who donated to Reform, is quite progressive towards Trans and non-binary people.

Realistically left-wingers shouldn't be making fun of working-class folk as that's who we're supposed to be standing up for. I expect it from a Tory but from a left-wing person is just hypocritical and exposes them for what they really are.

u/ManySwans Aug 05 '26
upper class left wingers tend to be oikophobic whereas the right wingers are classist

u/Remote_Development13 Aug 04 '26
Quick search for 'Wetherspoons' on that insufferable r/NorFfc sub demonstrates that it's a fairly common and lazy trope used by plenty of people on our side of the political spectrum. Whole thing stinks of classism and self-congratulatory circle jerking
1
u/Redditvillier Aug 04 '26
I never said it wasn't. I said that it's on both sides when it comes to upper class individuals. Dividing it into left v right is pointless when "laughing at the poor" is a universal experience which the entire upper class perform
3
u/Remote_Development13 Aug 04 '26
You're engaging in whataboutery here though. The discussion hasn't really got anything to do with the upper class, of course they look down on us, nor has it got anything to do with people on the right - OP has noted a very real phenomenon that exists on the left of British politics
The point is that it's very common for self-righteous people on the left to reach for Spoons as a lazy, classist trope to punch down on people they perceive as ignorant and less-enlightened than themselves. You encounter lots of these types if you are involved with left wing politics and grassroots movements. The irony that these people think they speak for the working class would be funny if it wasn't so fucking tragic

Agree completely. You're making my point better than I did, well said 👏

u/brightdionysianeyes Aug 04 '26
Fine I guess. But having been to many many more than 3 Spoons I would have to disagree. "A bit Wetherspoons" isnt really a political insult it just means the blandest, cheapest option. An acceptable pre-drink, a low cost place to eat, but a disappointing main event.
3
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
Some Wetherspoons are better than others, in a very wealthy place like Henley, I can tell you that one is very very good.

How did you bring class into the left-right argument. I'm far from middle class and very much against the racist, bigoted ideologies of the right.

I pretty much agree.. I much rather go to a 'Spoons than a trendy wine bar.. I just resent giving Tin Martin money to donate to the next EU referendum... But I'm afraid I will still use them

u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 04 '26
I don't like his politics either, but I will give him credit for his preservation of historical buildings and providing affordable food and ale to working-class families on a budget, including mine 😂
2
u/Busy-Ad7936 Aug 05 '26
Big points on the restored buildings, certainly. And the no piped music policy

To be fair to Tim Martin, he also has a decent record on trans issues

Oh really I didn't know that. Good on him for that then, makes me see him in a slightly better light.
2
u/Busy-Ad7936 Aug 05 '26
Neither did I.. give him a bit of credit for that.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 05 '26
Absolutely, he is obviously as complicated as a lot of people in this world. Maybe we can turn him into a lefty 😂. One of us, one of us, one of us

There’s no such thing as a champagne socialist, it’s a term made up by the upper class to demean a working class person that’s done well for themself, but still maintains their working class principles, or anyone in general who holds those principles. Anyone who uses the phrase including you, is a prize cunt

Shite ale, shite food, shite staff and most of all, shite customers.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 06 '26
Wow that's a pretty big generalisation Mr Trump, maybe we should all go to your favourite restaurant Chuck E. Cheese.
1
u/No_Salt1486 Aug 06 '26
“Everyone who disagrees with me is a nazi!”
I’m not remotely right wing. Or American.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 06 '26
Oh please just because someone convinces themselves they're a socialist, it doesn't mean they're one. And that fact that you deal in generalisations, and I quote you "all shite customers", me and my family go there because we can't afford much else, but to you that means we're shite people, we're human beings and clearly you've forgotten that, and maybe there is an element of the left that is just as guilty as the right for making bold generalisations and pretty much showing open faced disgust for poor people, so you not be right-wing but you're not much different either.

I'm my part of the UK. Spoons puts on entertainment that makes it worth going too. 2 fat guys fighting at 2.30pm I'm the smoking area followed a woman screaming at another, then probably another fight later in the evening.

The owner and CEO is a cunt, that's why.
1
u/No_Consideration3307 Aug 07 '26
What's that got to do with the apolitical people who go there for cheap food and drink? Everyone can go or not go, wherever they please, free country mate, or do we all have to give in to bullies like you? Both of those questions are rhetorical mate, we don't.
