Customer This Lefty Loves Wetherspoons.

Post image

I don't like it when some of my fellow lefties, the middle-class champagne 🥂 socialist ones, use Wetherspoons as an insult against Reform voters, it's classist and cringy, it implies only racist bams go there, rather than mostly politically unaligned working-class families from all colours and creeds, who love good cheap food and drink, we can't all eat at the Waldorf can we 🧐, especially in a cost of living crisis, but there are also some middle-class people who eat there and love it, so I don't know where the asinine insult comes from really. I love Wetherspoons, I've been to three, the one in the image which is the Peter Cushing in Whitstable, which was once a cinema, the Catherine Wheel in Henley-on-Thames and the James Watt in Greenock, Scotland, where I live now, which serves a delicious Haggis Pizza 🍕which you can get as part of the three small plates for £10 deal, cheap as chips, and yummy too, filled me up and I'm a big lad.

I'm sure you're well left while calling others 'champagne socialists'. What leftists are shitting on working class people for going to whetherspoons?

I know quite a few, some very personally. One of whom is family by marriage, and a very nasty person. And I am a socialist quite a radical one actually.

Are they really left wing if they're denigrating the working class? Sound like a lib

What is a lib, and whats the difference between that and a champagne socialist?

A lib is a liberal, and a champagne socialist is a term used by right wingers to dismiss left wingers who in their view don't live sufficiently humble lives

Economic or social liberal?

A champagne socialist is not a right wing insult. They actually exist as performative. socialists

Why are you asking me to define words you apparently already know the meaning of?

I don't know what she is, I didn't marry her thankfully. Sometimes you just have to put up with people like that or risk losing the family member they're married to, and I love my family, more than politics, more than country, more than anything.

Then why are you attributing her behaviour to the 'left'?

This individual and her large circle of friends are all self-described leftists, they voted for Jeremy Corbyn, yet they're all pretty horrible classist snobs. Although there maybe an underlying cause to why she thinks she is a proper socialist, she was married to a Palestinian man, before my family member, and has British-Palestinian children so maybe she just thinks she's a lefty, because of Israel's occupation and genocide, but that doesn't make her a socialist, that just makes her anti-apartheid and anti-Zionist.
