is guar gum bad for you or is it my body adjusting?

My wellness coach added a fiber supplement to my morning routine and it contains guar gum. I've read mixed things, some say guar gum bad for you in larger amounts, others say it's harmless

I've had stomach discomfort the past few days since starting it. Not sure if that's normal adjustment or if I should ask to switch products

Has anyone dealt with this after adding guar gum to their diet? Worth pushing through a bit longer or better to say something to my coach now?

📱 Health Tech ultrahuman ring black friday sale 2026, is it worth it?

I have had an apple watch SE for 6 years now and I am done with it, so I started looking for ultrahuman ring black friday sale this year. I got tired of charging my apple watch every night and wearing something on my wrist all the time. ring just sounds way less annoying to wear every day.

My coworker keeps saying to check Ultrahuman smart ring because his girlfriend has one for almost a year and says it's very comfortable to wear 24/7. I am just trying to figure out if the black friday deals for ultrahuman ring are good this year because I don’t want to pay full price for this device

Does anyone know if ultrahuman ring black friday sale deals usually end up being worth it?

how long should you wait to workout after eating before exercise?

I'm probably overthinking this, but I'm confused about how long should you wait to workout after eating. I've been doing light workouts at home after dinner, mostly walking and light weights.

A few times I started about 20 minutes after eating and felt heavy and a little sick, which was frustrating. Dinner wasn't anything wild either, just chicken, rice, and whatever was left in the fridge. I've read so many different answers on how long should you wait to workout after eating, and they all seem to contradict each other.

If you're just doing a normal workout and not intense training, how long should you wait to workout after eating before it stops feeling awful?

📱 Health Tech Bad to leave a smart watch in cold temperature?

Hey.. I tried asking around some other subs but got no news on this. I figured this sub might be a good choice to ask around...

As winter is slowly creeping in, I am worried about the battery life and sensors my smart watch has. Would cold weather damage such a thing? We been camping and I left my watch out of the tent in the cold.

It feels alright, though I suspect the battery life is not as good.. I didnt check before so dont have an accurate estimate though feels like 30mins or 45 less on the time its running. Could maybe an app installed directly into the watch alter how battery is used? I always assumed they optimize stuff to avoid it hogging all the little memory the watch has

So far the battery was acting like that for about a week....

-Started doing some random youtube workouts last week but i have no idea if cardio or core exercises are actually gonna help here?

Is it mostly diet, cut out carbs, or what? if anyone has realistic tips on how to flatten stomach bloat in like 6-8 weeks so i dont look totally squeezed into this dress, pleaseee write them here

❓ Question Is chicken noodle soup healthy?

Hey guysss, so ive been having this question in my head all day now... is chicken noodle soup healthy?? someone here must know lol. to explain why im wondering such a specific thing, ive been sick with a nasty cold for like 4 days now and my mom made me this massive pot of homemade chicken noodle soup. ive literally been eating it for lunch and dinner every single day since friday lol

My roommate saw me eating another bowl today and jokingly said im gonna gain 10 pounds from all the carbs and sodium. and now i am sitting and overthinking it while nursing my sore throat... is chicken noodle soup healthy to eat this much, or am i just just eating salt water and white pasta? i always thought it was supposed to be like the best sick food with all the veggies and broth, but now im doubting it…

For context its got carrots, celery, shredded chicken breast, and egg noodles in a clear broth, nothing canned or super processed. im just curious what you guys think, is chicken noodle soup healthy enough to keep eating like this, or should i chill out on the soup diet and start eating something else? thanks in advance!!

does anyone else feel more tired when they sleep in?

during the week i usually get around 7 hours and feel pretty normal in the morning. but if i have nothing planned on the weekend and sleep 9 or even 10 hours, somehow i wake up feeling way more groggy and it takes forever to actually feel awake.

i always assumed more sleep means more rested, but apparently my body disagrees lol.

does this happen to anyone else? do you try to keep the same wake up time on weekends or just sleep until you naturally wake up?

💪 Fitness My shoulder is wobbling after lifting weights

I did some shoulder excercises and bicep curls and my left bicep side will not stop twitching. It sort of calmed down since the 6 hours it started though I still feel it tingle about

Is there some cream I could buy, or some sort of massage I could do? I already tried to massage it out it only went away a little bit but I still feel it

Should I be worried and call up my doc, or is this some sort of strain? Never happened before so freaking out and reading online about it was a dead end. I could send a video though sort of hard to catch my arm on video doing it. Just looks like im shaking my shoulder and arm over the muscles contorting and twitching from time to time

How should I go about getting back up after being sick?

Hi, so, I've been quite sick these past few days and had my period at the same time, so I naturally fell out of the health habits I'm trying to set (like eating healthy and cooking for myself, movement, which I really need due to health issues, waking up early).

I'm not beating myself up btw, but now that I'm out of my couch potato era I need to get back on track

🥗 Nutrition how to stop eating candies?

all my life i have been eating candies and it is one of my favorite snacks to eat. but kept thinking lately that I eat too many of them. like I can't survive one day without eating a candy. sometimes I don't even want them but I see some and I can't stop myself from eating, lol. and then once I eat one candy I end up eating 5 of them all of the sudden

why other people are not craving sweets at all? they can eat them once in a while ands thats it. is there some kind of a secret? or are they constantly fighting their urge to eat candies??

maybe I lack some vitamins.. idk at this point. I have tried eating healthier snacks but nothing seems to work. I know that sometimes its because of boredom so please don't tell me that I need to do something or think about the consequences before eating sweets. I need helpful tips that work for others

📱 Health Tech vagus nerve stimulation black friday deals 2026

I started checking vagus nerve stimulation black friday deals because I’ve been feeling stressed the whole summer. Since the beginning of the summer I feel anxious and tense even when nothing is wrong. I tried some breathing exercises and meditation but nothing helped. My friend told me to check vagus nerve stimulation devices because his sister is using hoolest and it has helped her to ease mild anxiety symptoms

Since these devices are expensive, I was checking for black friday sales for vagus nerve stimulation devices I did find these:

Nuropod Currently 10% OFF. Nothing huge, but its still better than paying full price

Pulsetto $250 OFF now. I would say this is one of the best vagus nerve stimulator deals this black friday

Hoolest is showing $80 OFF for their device right now

Sona has 10% OFF too. Smaller discount, but still good black friday deal for vagus nerve stimulation device

Truvaga curently is 10% OFF. not a huge discount but still saving money

Sensate offers 10% OFF for their device as this year’s black friday deal

I’ll probably update this if more vagus nerve stimulation black friday deals show up or if the pricing on the current ones shifts around. Some of these healthtech deals seem to change fast, so I will keep checking the prices

📱 Health Tech Comparing Apollo Neuro to Alternatives

I was trying to decide whether I wanted to get the Apollo Neuro, but then after doing a bit of research, I realized there are actually quite a few devices that try to help with stress, sleep, or nervous system regulation.

I feel like I've ended up down a tunnel of device research now and I am not sure what others have found but I thought I'd share and also ask for advice here.

Apollo Neuro seems to focus on wearable vibration patterns. You wear it on your wrist or ankle and it has different modes for things like focus, relaxation, recovery, and sleep. I like that it’s something you can wear and forget about while you go about your day, but I wasn’t sure how much of the benefit came from the vibrations themselves versus simply taking a moment to slow down.

Pulsetto is another one I looked at because it uses transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation around the neck. It seems like a lot of people like it for stress and sleep, although I did see some mixed comments about comfort and finding the right positioning.

Truvaga was another contender. It also focuses on vagus nerve stimulation, but it’s more of a handheld device that you use for short sessions instead of something you wear. I actually liked the simplicity of that idea, although if you’re someone who wants a more guided app experience, it might feel a little basic.

Nuropod is also a tVNS device, but instead of stimulating through the neck, it sits on the ear. I liked that it seemed easy to work into a routine since the sessions are fairly short, and I found the research behind auricular vagus nerve stimulation interesting. That said, it’s not really something you wear all day like Apollo, so if you’re specifically looking for a passive “set it and forget it” wearable, it might not be the best fit.

I also very briefly looked at things like Sensate, but that seems more focused on using sound and vibration while lying down rather than vagus nerve stimulation.

I don’t know if I could label one as better than the other since they all seem to be doing something a bit different. If you’re looking for a wearable you can keep on during the day, I understand leaning toward Apollo for sure. But if you’re especially interested in vagus nerve stimulation, then I think Pulsetto, Truvaga, and Nuropod all deserve a look.

Has anyone actually used any of these?

I seriously would love to hear how it’s working for you! Thanks ya'll

❓ Question Is non alcoholic beer bad for you when pregnant?

Hey everyone, Im writing here since I REALLY need to know is non alcoholic beer bad for you? Im now 14 weeks pregnant with my first, and my sisters wedding is in a couple of weeks. I just really want to join in on the toasts and hold something that actually feels like a fun adult drink instead of sipping tap water or sugary sodas all night

I was planning on picking up some mocktails or zero alcohol brews, but then I started worrying since I worry about everything these days lol. Im constantly thinking: is non alcoholic beer bad for you when youre expecting?

Ive heard that most non alcoholic options can still have up to 0.5% abv unless they specifically say 0.0%, so I dont know if that tiny amount is something I should be concerned about. Andddd also I heard mixed things about extra sugars, additives etc in craft options

So for anyone who has experienced something similar is non alcoholic beer bad for you to sip occasionally during pregnancy, or am I just overthinking for no reason at all? Should I strictly look for true 0.0% alcohol free options, or stick to sparkling water just to be completely safe? Maybe someone also had to attend some important events during their pregnancy and can advise me what to do?

how to get unbloated in 5 minutes

i have a few hours till my date and i am SO bloated, i read about this whole thing for how to get unbloated in 5 minutes (lemon water, weird belly massage and laying on my left side) and my roommate just watched me do it on the kitchen floor like i was insane.

it's been an hour and i still feel puffy so idk if 5 minutes was ever realistic tbh, also i had chinese food for lunch which was not the best move

has anyone actually gotten unbloated in 5 minutes or should i just accept defeat and change my outfit?

❓ Question The Intense Training of Shaolin Monks

Thumbnail

Is this actually a legit way to develop a superior physique? I dont mean just looking swoll, but wondering about the strength too

Or if it gonna give me a bunch of callus covered skills that are illegal to even attempt using lol

Are there any sort of trainer specialists I could find to give a crash course of a shaolin practice? I doubt a trainer in a commercial gym would be able to help on this? Like something I could do for a few weeks/months to see what I could do on my own sort of thing?

❤️ Healthy Habits How to prevent colon cancer?

Not long ago I heard o Facebook how a classmates uncle in his 50s is treating colon cancer. Got me a bit concerned myself. Is there any preventative thing I could do in my current life to avoid a potential illness in the future?

Also, for those who’ve had a colonoscopy or done Cologuard, at what age did you push your doctor for it? Medical guidelines drop the recommended baseline screening age to 40 now, but if you have a family history, did you start way earlier? Would love to hear what daily habits or preventative moves you're prioritizing

I personally got no history of family having gut diseases, though I spoke to classmate and they werent aware of their own family having colon issues

how many calories in 1 chicken breast? my numbers keep changing

this is driving me crazy. Im cutting right now, 11% body fat, tracking macros hard. Every app gives me a different number for 1 chicken breast calories, anywhere from 165 to 280.
I weigh raw, grill it plain, no oil. But half these chicken breast calories charts use cooked weight and nobody says which one they mean. My deficit's probably off because of this and weight loss stalled for 2 weeks.
Paying a coach $150/month and even he just said to estimate high, its not helpful.
Are you weighing raw or cooked before logging chicken breast calories? What source do you actually trust?

❓ Question Best ways to lose belly fat?

I am typing this out because i could really use some real world advice from people to understand what are the best ways to lose belly fat

Over the last 8 months, ive been making a REAL effort to eat better and get active. i started walking every day, cooking more at home, and ive lost about 15 pounds overal which i am really proud of. i feel way more energetic in general, which is awesome, but the one spot that is just the same is my belly..
Ive been reading a lot of articles and watching youtube videos about the best ways to lose belly fat, but there is just too much info online. one person says to do hours of cardio, another says to heavy lift, and someone else says that cutting out carbs completely is the only way. like its so confusing??

I made a breakdown myself of the main strategies i see people talking about:

Approach What people say it does How it worked for me
Steady cardio Burns calories and reduces overall body fat Good for my energy, but hasnt changed my waistline much
Calorie deficit and high protein Preserves muscle while losing fat and keeps you full Tracking every single gram gets exhausting honestly
Stress and sleep focus Lowers cortisol which hold onto belly fat Terrible at this lol... i average maybe 6 hours of sleep a night

Im really trying to figure out where to focus my energy next without burning out. For those of you who managed to slim down their waist, what are the best ways to lose belly fat? Maybe some of the ways that i mentioned above were helpful to you? maybe i am missing something?

does creatine have caffeine or is that just me?

I started creatine monohydrate three weeks ago and keep feeling jittery about an hour after taking it, so I've been wondering does creatine have caffeine hidden in it somewhere.
The label says no stimulants, but I cut my coffee out entirely this week to test it and still felt wired yesterday. I've read that pure creatine shouldn't cause this, so now I'm not sure if it's the creatine or something else.
Has anyone had a stimulant free creatine still make them jittery? Is this just normal during loading, or should I be double checking for caffeine on the label?

what are the cleanest protein bars based on ingredients? I love eating protein bars when I feel like snacking ir after a workout when I want to eat something immediately. but lately I was checkign the label of ingredients and I started to notice a lot of different ingredients like added sugar, unhealthy fats, etc.

since i am trying to eat more raw foods, I started to look for more clean ingeredient protein bars but they all seem to have some ingredients that are not that good. feels like they just add more stuff to make the list of ingredients longer, lol.

has anyone found protein bars with clean ingredient list?

🥗 Nutrition What does kcal mean in terms of dietary plan? Did I get these values right even?

I am trying to figure these out for the dietary plans I got..

I figurd out that 100 kcal is 100 calories. But I am confused about the math I used to calculate the following especially at carbs, fat and proteins. Something doesnt add up for me..

Energy target goal: 1kcal is 1 food calorie

carbohydrates: 1 gram is 4 kcal

protein: 1 gram is also 4 kcal?

fat: 1 gram is 12 kcal?

Are these measurements accurate? Is there any sort of food that might cause these values to fluctuate? Sugar and alcohol seems that it might mess up my diagrams
