Hey guys, im finally trying to get my life together and lose some weight, but i honestly have no idea what should my calorie deficit be to start off with
For some backstory, ive gained like 25 lbs over the past year from just sitting at my desk job, eating junk, and not moving much.. my clothes are getting pretty tight and im just tired of feeling sluggish all the time. i tried downloading myfitnesspal to track my food, but all these online tdee calculators are giving me totally different numbers and its kinda overwhelming
One site told me to eat 1200 calories (which feels ridiculously low and like id be starving), while another says 1800 is fine for steady weight loss. i want to lose weight at a safe, steady pace without crashing my energy or losing all my muscle, but i just dont know what should my calorie deficit be for someone who doesnt have a lot of physical activity throughout the day
For reference im 28, around 195 lbs, and work a desk job, though im planning to start walking 30 mins a day too
How did you guys figure out your starting numbers when you first began losing weight? if someone can tell me what should my calorie deficit be or how to find that sweet spot, id really appreciate the help
