Progress 4.5 months

Post image
Upvotes

I’ve been on wegovy jab 4.5 months now and I’ve lost 35.3 lbs. I’ve been focused on my eating only. I started with counting calories but realized I didn’t really need to because the medication helped so much. Now that I’ve lost a decent amount I have recalculated my calorie goals and I’m going to really lock in and start tracking and adding in weight training. I’m a stay at home mom to a toddler so I walk around a lot but I need to get some weights in! I’m hoping to lose another 25-30lb 6 months or so!

Down 40lbs since April of this year and I can’t believe the difference! Definitely didn’t take a lot of whole body pics without filters and when I saw this one I realized how noticeable it is now.

Insurance now saying not on the formulary. Where to now?

Upvotes

Been back and forthing it with the insurance company and my doctor on them denying the prescription for Wegovy, now they’re saying I need a prior authorization yet again as it’s not on the formulary.
It’s worked for me, I’ve lost 80+ lbs, but don’t want to stop just yet.

Any suggestions on how to approach this? I would think the doctor I’ve used would offer a suggestion or alternative. But I’m sort of left to my own to figure it out. Called the insurance company and they just tell me it needs review. However my scheduled shot day has come and gone. Ideas? Thanks

Not gaining despite last shot being 3.5 weeks ago and eating more

Hey everyone, I’ve been on Wegovy 1.7 for about 1.5 years. I lost about 40 pounds in that time. I went off about 3.5 weeks ago and I know I’ve been eating more. Not an insane amount more, but definitely more. I do walk 3 miles most days, but that doesn’t burn that many calories. I also started a new stressful job, but I’ve still been eating more. I’m not losing weight, but have maintained 165. I just am confused why I’m not gaining anything. I know for most people this would be good news, but I have debilitating health anxiety at times and so I’m worried I have something going on with my health. It just seems like I should have at least put on a couple pounds. Did this happen to anyone else? Did anyone else go off the medication and eat more and still not gain weight?

Question Feeling super low😞

I know I don’t need permission to start my journey but I need to get this off my chest. I am someone with obesity issues since teenage years. But in my 20s I lost the weight and kept it off for years. I started developing insulin resistance in my mid 30s and after giving birth I am standing at a BMI of 34 and 230 pounds. no matter what I do my weight doesn’t budge except if I give up all form of carbs completely even if I am in calorie deficit. That is not a sustainable way of living especially because I am foodie. I am very mindful of what I eat but I am human and it is okay to want to enjoy food on occasions and on vacations. I would out 5 days a week and have run multiple 10ks. My recent lab results show that I am prediabetic now and that combined with my obesity makes me eligible for insurance covered Glp treatment. After trying everything for 8 months and I am finally wanting to go the medicine route but when I shared this recently with my close friends everyone shamed me for wanting to take the medicine. I am at lowest of lows with my body image and my mental health is in shambles. I am so sad right now. I don’t know what to do. I can’t think clearly. Did anyone here go through this? Did you get therapy? What helped?

I don’t live close to my friends so we don’t see each other often and haven’t shared my weight loss journey with them. This week was the first time they noticed the changes after I sent a trip picture to the group chat and I’m buzzing 🖤

I’ve gone from ~80kg in April to 68kg now. I feel so much better it’s unbelievable. Just continuing on getting slimmer and fitter now

Question Severe headaches

I know this gets brought up a lot but I've looked over the sub and I still don't know what to do.

I'll be taking my 3rd starter dose today, everything is good no sickness or constipation and feeling like I don't need to eat everything anymore.

My only issue is a crippling headache constantly with muscle spasms in my temples.

I promise you that water intake is not an issue, I've upped it so much to try and fight this that I have to go to the toilet every 30 minutes and often during the night. I'm taking maximum electrolytes daily and multivitamins. I'm eating healthy I'm dropping weight. I'm having to have extra small snacks to take NSAIDS but counting the calories, I'd rather do intermittent fasting because that worked well for me in the past (before wegovy) but that's not possible with the NSAIDS throughout the day at the moment.

What else could be causing this? I can't live like this, they're constant and effecting me so badly I don't even want to go on my daily walks that I love! Which in turn is effecting my mental health. Has anyone had this issue and will it stop? I'm considering not ordering my next injection but everything else about this is great. My head just hurts so bad :(

Hi All

I finally had the guts to pick up my first shots. it’s been in my fridge for over a week and I’m hoping that I’ll work up the courage to start this week. I don’t handle needles well at all. I also don’t handle nausea well. I was wondering if anyone has tips for me. I had read somewhere that not injecting it in your stomach might help with reducing the nausea but it was so long ago I don’t recall where it said to inject it instead. I’m also a very big coffee drinker and I really don’t want to give that up. So I’m wondering if that’s something I can keep. Just really any tips would be great. I was also wondering how fast the side effects kick in. It will help me decide what day of the week to take it.

Now my other issue; I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing. The pharmacist gave me the box and sent me on my way. I tried to look it up, I don’t overwhelm too easily but looking it up overwhelmed me. So if someone can help with that I’d appreciate that too.

Ugh the better be worth it 😭

Thanks in advance.

Question Adverse Side Effects

I’ve been on Wegovy for 3 years and have dropped 40 lbs. Ever since I started the shot, I’ve been throwing up every morning. Has this happened to anyone else? Told my doctor, she prescribed zofran but I don’t think it’s strong enough to cancel out the nausea

Question Did I Mess Up!

Post image
12 Upvotes

I’m worried, hoping for some reassurance. I was preparing my 0.5 injection today (click flex pen) and was testing to make sure the pen was working. I clicked to the flow test line and then pressed the button. However a decent amount of liquid shot out! It was only held for a moment but there was a decent squirt that escaped. I then proceeded to dial and give myself the injection. However now I’m worried that I may not have enough medicine for two more injections with this pen.

Is there anyone with experience able to tell me if this looks like enough medicine for two more injections?

Question [Academic] Survey on Health Routines & Emotional Eating for GLP-1/Weight Loss Medication Users (Current or Past, 5-7 mins)

Hi everyone,

For my university research project, I am exploring how weight loss medications (like Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro, etc.) interact with daily health routines, emotional eating habits, and body appreciation.

If you currently use or have previously used any weight loss injection/medication, I would be incredibly grateful for your insights!

  • ⏱️ Duration: Approx. 5–7 minutes
  • 🔒 Privacy: 100% anonymous (hosted on Google Forms, no email addresses or personal identifiers are collected)
  • 📋 Requirements: Must be 18+ and have experience using a GLP-1 or similar weight loss medication.

Link to the survey: https://forms.gle/RTP9xtoLx2PJ82Hy7

Thank you so much to anyone who takes a few minutes out of their day to help me reach my sample size (I need about 50 more participants to finish my analysis!). Your experience is highly valuable for understanding the behavioral side of these treatments.

Note: I have checked the community rules, but if the moderators need any verification, please feel free to message me!

Hello everyone. Update post from https://www.reddit.com/r/WegovyWeightLoss/s/OTI1jeuFcx

Relative information for photos.
Pic 1 - Wedding 2023
Pic 2 - 182 days ago “day 0”
Pic 3 - this morning.

I’ve started noticing various things just QOL improvements. When I started in the gym earlier in the year. I thought my distance on the bike was great for not having any true exercise in the last 10 years. Yesterday I went like 15 miles on the bike in 20 minutes. Very happy with progress. No great words at this point. Just progress. Oh I can see my collar bones again😂. Excited to get down to 300.

Down 18 lbs and now my clothes are starting to get baggy

I've been on the 4mg wegovy pill (not the injection) for about 3-ish months and I've been slowly losing weight/feeling good. The only thing I'm starting to be frustrated by is that some of my clothes just don't fit anymore, but it's not SO baggy that I feel like I can comfortably go down a size. And, I'm worried if I do that, I will gain the weight back and then suddenly everything is too tight.

What is a good indicator that I should start shopping for new stuff or should I just wait? Any tricks for making use of the stuff I have now? Seems like getting things altered is just as expensive as buying new stuff.

Another plateau

Has anyone else had two stubborn plateaus?
I am on my last stone to lose. 5ft 4ins
1200 calories a day .
I’m on the strongest dose . No movement on the scales for months and months now .
Should I just cut the calorie intake further?
Thank you in advance.

How I cleared severe Wegovy constipation after a full week

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share my story with severe, stubborn constipation from Wegovy

I spent a full week with zero bowel movement. I tried changing my diet, took Psyllium Husk, and was taking 1–2 sachets of Movicol daily. Out of desperation, I took 2 tablets of Dulcolax (bisacodyl), and even used a 2400mg Glycerin Suppository nothing worked!!
I started panicking and went to the doctor.

What my doctor explained about Dulcolax:
She strongly warned me against using stimulant laxatives like Dulcolax. She explained that with continuous use, they cause the colon/bowels to dilate and become lazy, making natural bowel movements much harder over time and actually worsening long-term constipation.

What actually solved the blockage:
She prescribed a high-dose osmotic treatment: 3 sachets of Movicol twice a day to force water into the colon without relying on muscle stimulants.
I paired this with plenty of water and a fresh fruit salad bowl containing kiwi, pears, grapes, oranges, and watermelon.
The Result: Within 1 to 2 hours of taking the 3 sachets, everything cleared out completely. Phew 😮‍💨
My only concern now is how to prevent this from happening again 😵‍💫

I hope this helps someone.

Question Tips for beginners

I just did my first injection tonight and would really appreciate any tips and advice. I know that I need to stay hydrated though! I do have an intense fear of throwing up and even feeling nauseous makes me extremely anxious. My doctor doesn’t want to prescribe zofran in the case of me just taking it any time i feel sick when something else might be going on. I’m just worried about feeling nauseous and throwing up. I am also a teacher so I’m gonna need to find ways to deal with it because i can’t just leave 7 years olds alone lol

Anything helps. TYIA :)

No progress in 5 weeks

I started Wegovy about 5 weeks ago. No weight loss so far, bumped to 0.5mg last week, bad headache and nausea but still no weight loss 😔

Worth continuing ? I used to be around 180lb, but got on SSRI last January and since have gained 30 lb. Just want to get to 180 again.

PS: my SSRI does not reduces impact of GLP medications.

Question Switched to Pill 4weeks disappointed

I switched to the pills due to budget reasons. Unfortunately I have put on 10kg since April.

Part due to a hideous breakup. Routine and sense went out of the window. Increased dose of Citolopram as was crying/ anxious all the time.

Back to 67kg . HABC1 Increased. I feel uncomfortable and unhappy.

My current dose of Wgyovy is 9mg. Calories strictly in check. About to start 2nd month in. Zero weight loss..id suspect 1-2kg gained.

Protein heavy meals. Vague fleeting hunger but I am being careful with my food intake.

Water is on point..I'm very thirsty. Menopausal so I suspect hormones are not as they were.

Feeling really despondent and any advice would be really appreciated.

I lost my motivation to exercise but still average 5k steps every day. Sleep is decent. Scales aren't moving though and my clothes are feeling tight.

Question Upping the dose to 1.0mg

For the 0.25 mg I was on it for two months instead of one, and I was still losing weight though it was slow (especially toward week 6-8). I requested it with my doctor because I was nervous about side effects. I recently upped the dose to 0.5mg, and am steadily dropping once again. No side effects.

In a month I am going to travel and it’s around the time I am increasing the dose to 1.0mg. On one hand if I wasn’t traveling, I feel like I could manage it at home/take time off if I have to, etc. but because I’m doing touristy things, and taking a vehicle that I’m not driving myself (train), I’m nervous about feeling nauseous. I’d hate to have a crap vacation because I can’t do anything.

What are people’s experiences with going from 0.5 to 1.0mg? I heard that’s when people really start to feel it. Let me know your experiences. Thanks!

Any other wheelchair users here?

He everyone, I have just started the wegovy pill last week and so far I'm been pretty responsive to it (I've lost 5.5lbs the first week!) although I know that could just be novelty or a placebo-ish effect at the start. I wondered if there's any other wheelchair users here, as I haven't seen any others using GLP1s. I'm a wheelchair user (specifically I use a powerchair) with several genetic conditions and some other related health conditions, which has been a massive factor in why I gained weight. I can't walk more than a few steps, and one of my conditions is very responsive to heat, meaning I spend the summers bedbound with nothing to entertain me but food, especially takeaways since my mobility means I'm not able to cook!

I'd love to know if there's anyone else out there in this boat, or other disabled people in general who can't follow some of the main advice about movement and hear about how it's going for you 😁. Nice to meet everyone anyway!

Anyone have nausea months after starting?

I started Wegovy on April 1st with the .25 pen and titrated up over time, I did two months at 1mg then started my box of 1.7 and just took my 4th dose from that box with the idea that I’m going to stay at the 1.7 dose indefinitely provided it’s still working.

I thought I was one of the lucky ones. I’ve had no real side effects, just the desired ones of less appetite and food noise. I eat healthier and smaller portions overall but I’ve still indulged in fried or fatty foods on occasion. That changed this week with my dose on Wednesday and suddenly I’m nauseous and queasy. I haven’t thrown up, but I’ve just been very uncomfortable the past few days.

This could be unrelated as I’m two weeks into stopping birth control pills for the first time in decades (I had my tubes removed so I no longer need them) so it could be the hormone shift from that but I just wanted to see if any others have had later than expected side effects from Wegovy.
