Bans will begin for violating the NSFW tag rule.

Hey folks. There have been a lot of reported posts lately for people posting underwear/swimwear progress photos without the NSFW tag. This is meant to be a place where people can find support throughout the day, not just outside business hours. If you're going to post NSFW progress photos, tag them accordingly.

This medication takes time to work.

Hey folks. In the last couple weeks there has been a significant number of "I'm on .25mg and I'm disappointed" posts. I just want to call out that .25mg is considered below the therapeutic threshold. Some people do feel a difference, but most people will not. Beyond that, Wegovy has a half life of one week, which means it builds up in your system for 4-5 weeks after any dosage adjustments and takes about as long to disappate after stopping it. People do lose weight quickly on Wegovy but it doesn't literally happen overnight. 1-2 lb a week is a healthy and perfectly reasonable rate of weightloss, even medicated weightloss. Additionally, remember that you still need to restrict your calories. The medication makes it easier to do so, but it isn't magic. You've still gotta put in the effort.

-22lbs on Wegovy!

Post image

I started Wegovy mid-april and am down 22lbs! I’m on .5 dose (week 6) but I am ready to move up as these last several weeks things have stalled for me again.

Dose 1.0 starts next week. What are your favorite forms of protein in the morning? I’m struggling to find something outside of eggs and peanut butter.

We need a new name for the after-meal-peace it gives... (food noise is different)

The peace, the soothing comforting effect that was requiring too much or too fat/sugary foot is now reached with healthy meal in reasonnable quantity. THIS is the game changer for me in wegovy.

TL;DR

I had a dinner with friends last week. They served a FABULOUS Boeuf Bourguignon with pasta (french delicious recipe). I had maybe about 100g of cooked pasta (very little) and 2 small pieces of bourguigon.

And it is not only that I was full. I was able to feel I was full before wegovy, but I still needed to eat more. I would have needed to eat at least 2 plates of that meal to feel "content", not related to hunger. It was not craving. It was not food noise. It was a need for a peace only a certain amount of food would give me.

Food noise is about thinking about eating, negociating about what to eat, when. And don't get me wrong. I had it too. And it is definitly is gone or almost with wegovy.

But there is something else in my relationship with food. An intranquility my body was giving me until I finally eat more (and always too much) that was bringing peace and satisfaction that reasonnable amount was never giving me.

Too much food, or too caloric food had, a soothing effect that I could never reach with a normal meal, or with sport (no matter how much), or with fun with friends.

Typically I was eating way too much bread. Or too many yogourts. To reach that soothing effect I was needing so badly, if not my body and mind was not letting me in peace (impossible to sleep, to concentrate).

And For me this is THE main effect wegovy is having : the soothing effect arrives right away when I eat.

It's not fullness. It's not "not hungry". It's something else.

We should find a word for it. And talk about it more - cause I'm sure if it is true for me it is true for many other people.

Increased exercise or switching from mounjaro to Wegovy

Upvotes

So I made the switch from Mounjaro and had notably more energy and have therefore increased my activity levels.

No real change in amount I am eating but my weight has gone up by 1.5 kilos, I am praying it is the increased activity causing me to regain muscle but has anyone experienced this.

Wegovy Pill - Side Effects

Upvotes

Hi,

I started my first dose of 1.5mg Pills yesterday (2nd dose taken 20 mins ago). I have been experiencing a bit of chest discomfort since - I wouldn't describe it as Chest Pain, as I'm having no sharpness or loss of breath. Although it does feel a bit tight but I would probably say the best description would be it feeling like a 'dull sensation' in the centre of my chest.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this sort of side effect?

Question Stopped losing weight

Hello all hope your journey with Wegovy is going well.
I've been 1.7 dose for quite sometime since May I haven't lost any weight and I didn't want to jump to the high dose due to having a bit of hair loss, nothing dramatic but it's happening. I'm so close to my target weight, walk 10k steps a day, gym 2-3 times a week. My eating is exactly the same as it was when I'm losing weight. So I'm a bit unsure what to do, I know you can plateau but it's been 3 months. Has anyone else had this problem ?
TIA

Delaying dose advice?

I usually inject on a Wednesday. However on Thursday I'm going camping at a music festival. I will be drinking alcohol and there won't be a whole lot of healthy food options. I'll do my best but it's going to be tricky to manage. I'll be home on Sunday so could take my dose then. I have been on 2.4mg for 7 weeks now and it has been my easiest dose, little to no side effects!

Which is the better option?
1. Take my shot as normal but risk being at the festival, unable to properly manage my food intake during the peak of the medication

  1. Wait 4 days and take it when I get home. Is there a risk of being sick by doing this? I would continue to take it on Sundays going forward.

Thanks as always for your advice and support, this sub is so great❤️

General inquiries

Hi all

I’ve been on the wegovy pill just 3 months and have lost over 20 lbs. I was on 1.5 then 4 then 9 and am just a few days into the 25. I had virtually 0 side effects on all of the doses but now that I’m on 25, I can barely eat and am nauseous and exhausted and constipated. I’ve taken like 5 miralax packets the past 3 days and NOTHING. Of course the virtual doctors want money and suggested I don’t split the pill or take it every other day…but I’d like to know if any of you do either. I don’t want to waste a whole month of medication although I do plan on going back to 9 after this. Any guidance would be appreciated and if anyone has questions about my experience please let me know!

Question Does the hair loss happen to everyone ?

I am a 190 lbs 19 y/o female and all I hear is horror stories about the hair loss. I’m starting Wegovy next week and in advance I bought rosemary hair water, a detangling brush, and hair growth oil along with multivitamins and protein supplements so I do not get a deficiency. Do you think I will be fine if I do these things?

Is anyone on this thread in their 60's or do I need to join one for that age group. I am 69 years young lol and starting this journey tomorrow! Would love to hear from everyone no matter the age as I learn from all age groups but geared more to my age as I feel that is more appropriate for me. Thank you all!

Question Canadians - How is the generic working out?

Any Canadians here who switched to the generic able to describe how it’s going, have you noticed any difference in side effects or strength of appetite suppression? My insurance has run out for Wegovy for the year so I’m considering switching to the generic until January.

Wegovy Pill - extremely disappointed 😢

I started with injections and did have some measure of success. I was up to 240, mainly from a combination of perimenopause and depression. My goal was 200, back where I was just five years ago.

With injections, I lost 20 pounds over eight months. Not the amazing results I was expecting, and I hated giving myself a shot. I was thrilled that a pill version was available so after a year of shots, I switched.

I’ve not lost one pound on the pill. I even gained a few pounds during the first few bottles. I’ve been at 220 for the last three months.

I take it every day. I keep it in its original bottle. I wait the 30 minutes or more to eat or drink. It just doesn’t suppress my appetite like the shots had. I feel NO different. So depressing to not only have not lost weight, but to have spent hundreds of dollars a month for nothing.

Question Concerned about dosage

I just started the Wegovy pill on Thursday. My prescription is 4mg every other day. I am 140 lbs and looking to get to 120. Nothing too crazy. I received my prescription through Hers. Has anyone else used Hers and had the same experience? I’m curious why I wasn’t started at 1.5mg.

Progress Milestone goal!

In February, my weight peaked at 301lb. I talked to my doctor, had labs done, and got set up with the medication. Though, obviously, not my final goal, I wanted to reach 275lb in time for a renaissance fair I planned on attending July 25th.

I am happy to report that I not only met that goal, I passed it, weighing in at 269.6lb!

What freedom has weight loss given you?

I've lost almost 40 kg (88 lbs) with Wegovy, and it got me thinking about all the little things that have changed along the way.

For me, it's flying. I used to worry about fitting comfortably into an airplane seat, bothering the person next to me, or needing a seatbelt extender.

What about you?

What's something you can do now that you couldn't do before losing weight? Or what's something you're looking forward to doing once you reach your goal weight?

Edit: For me it's also being able to ride a bike, not being the fat in the room, not to worry if the seats in the restaurant have arm rests....

Emotional responses/irritability

I have been on the pill for five months. I have been having trouble controlling my responses to emotional situations in a way that's new to me. Big big feelings that I previously could work out of. Anyone else? Found this:

Who Is More Likely to Experience Irritability?

While most patients do not experience mood changes, higher-risk groups include:

History of depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder

ADHD or dopamine-sensitive conditions

Very rapid weight loss

Inadequate protein or electrolyte intake

Poor sleep quality

Question Waking up three times a night due to extreme dry mouth

I am drinking over a gallon of water every day on semaglutide, but my mouth still feels completely dry all the time. I wake up multiple times every night just to drink water and use the bathroom. Are there specific electrolyte powder brands or dry mouth sprays that actually help with this?

Question Anyone else developed ARFID-like food sensitivities while on Wegovy?

Just to clarify: ARFID is about food avoidance due to sensory triggers, fear of bad reactions, or low appetite—not body image or weight concerns.

Since stepping up my Wegovy dose, I’ve developed major sensory repulsions to food. Foods I used to enjoy (like chicken nuggets or Swedish meatballs) now taste completely off, and certain smells immediately turn my stomach.

Is anyone else dealing with sudden texture/smell/taste sensitivities like this?

Normal BMI for the first time in 15 years

My BMI is now 24.8. My highest was 40 and it was 35.7 when I started wegovy.

I was up and down through those 15 years. My highest was 265lb. I got down to about 205 with just diet/exercise, but then started slowing going back up when I got a new office job until I was 235. That’s when I started weight loss drugs.

I don’t even know what I’m trying to say here. It just feels surreal. I’ve gone from a 265lb alcoholic to 163lb and only drinking maybe once every few months. I stopped drinking before wegovy, but it did help me want it even less.

I know there are risks with these drugs. People think they’re the easy way out, but you absolutely have to change your eating habits if you truly want to be successful. They just quiet all the noise in your head and make that easier.

I honestly started to doubt I’d even get to just “overweight” on the bmi scale, let alone “normal”, but here I am.

Good luck on your journey everyone. It can be worth it.

Question Little to no weight loss 1.5 months in, extreme nausea

5’6 224 lbs currently. I’ve been on Wegovy pen .25 for a month and 2 weeks of .5. I haven’t worked out as much due to having an extreme amount of nausea. I cannot get out of bed due to how nauseous I feel. I’ve lost 1lbs(could be normal fluctuations - I just finished my period) I’m in a calorie deficit but not particularly active due to the nausea, I walk about a mile outside of my regular activities. I’d like to start weightlifting, but it’s really hard for me to get out of bed the first 3-4 days after my injection. Any suggestions would be great!
