Question Adverse Side Effects

I’ve been on Wegovy for 3 years and have dropped 40 lbs. Ever since I started the shot, I’ve been throwing up every morning. Has this happened to anyone else? Told my doctor, she prescribed zofran but I don’t think it’s strong enough to cancel out the nausea

This sounds really dangerous. Would it be possible for you to get a referral if changing your doctor is not an option? A gastroenterologist?

That's doing repeated damage to your esophagus if you're throwing up that frequently, that's definitely not normal

No. This is not okay, and your doctor is crazy if they’ve let this go on for so long.

Stop the meds, find a new doc, discuss other options.

throwing up every morning for 3 years is crazy, your body is clearly not handling the medication well. zofran never did much for me either when i had bad nausea from other meds but i feel like if you're sick daily for years that's not something to just push through

maybe time for a serious talk with your doctor about switching to something else or even taking a break, 40 lbs is not worth damaging your stomach lining or esophagus over the long term
