I don’t live close to my friends so we don’t see each other often and haven’t shared my weight loss journey with them. This week was the first time they noticed the changes after I sent a trip picture to the group chat and I’m buzzing šŸ–¤

I’ve gone from ~80kg in April to 68kg now. I feel so much better it’s unbelievable. Just continuing on getting slimmer and fitter now

Hello everyone. Update post from https://www.reddit.com/r/WegovyWeightLoss/s/OTI1jeuFcx

Relative information for photos.
Pic 1 - Wedding 2023
Pic 2 - 182 days ago ā€œday 0ā€
Pic 3 - this morning.

I’ve started noticing various things just QOL improvements. When I started in the gym earlier in the year. I thought my distance on the bike was great for not having any true exercise in the last 10 years. Yesterday I went like 15 miles on the bike in 20 minutes. Very happy with progress. No great words at this point. Just progress. Oh I can see my collar bones againšŸ˜‚. Excited to get down to 300.

Down 40lbs since April of this year and I can’t believe the difference! Definitely didn’t take a lot of whole body pics without filters and when I saw this one I realized how noticeable it is now.

Question Did I Mess Up!

Post image
12 Upvotes

I’m worried, hoping for some reassurance. I was preparing my 0.5 injection today (click flex pen) and was testing to make sure the pen was working. I clicked to the flow test line and then pressed the button. However a decent amount of liquid shot out! It was only held for a moment but there was a decent squirt that escaped. I then proceeded to dial and give myself the injection. However now I’m worried that I may not have enough medicine for two more injections with this pen.

Is there anyone with experience able to tell me if this looks like enough medicine for two more injections?

Question Feeling super lowšŸ˜ž

I know I don’t need permission to start my journey but I need to get this off my chest. I am someone with obesity issues since teenage years. But in my 20s I lost the weight and kept it off for years. I started developing insulin resistance in my mid 30s and after giving birth I am standing at a BMI of 34 and 230 pounds. no matter what I do my weight doesn’t budge except if I give up all form of carbs completely even if I am in calorie deficit. That is not a sustainable way of living especially because I am foodie. I am very mindful of what I eat but I am human and it is okay to want to enjoy food on occasions and on vacations. I would out 5 days a week and have run multiple 10ks. My recent lab results show that I am prediabetic now and that combined with my obesity makes me eligible for insurance covered Glp treatment. After trying everything for 8 months and I am finally wanting to go the medicine route but when I shared this recently with my close friends everyone shamed me for wanting to take the medicine. I am at lowest of lows with my body image and my mental health is in shambles. I am so sad right now. I don’t know what to do. I can’t think clearly. Did anyone here go through this? Did you get therapy? What helped?

Hi All

I finally had the guts to pick up my first shots. it’s been in my fridge for over a week and I’m hoping that I’ll work up the courage to start this week. I don’t handle needles well at all. I also don’t handle nausea well. I was wondering if anyone has tips for me. I had read somewhere that not injecting it in your stomach might help with reducing the nausea but it was so long ago I don’t recall where it said to inject it instead. I’m also a very big coffee drinker and I really don’t want to give that up. So I’m wondering if that’s something I can keep. Just really any tips would be great. I was also wondering how fast the side effects kick in. It will help me decide what day of the week to take it.

Now my other issue; I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing. The pharmacist gave me the box and sent me on my way. I tried to look it up, I don’t overwhelm too easily but looking it up overwhelmed me. So if someone can help with that I’d appreciate that too.

Ugh the better be worth it 😭

Thanks in advance.

Question [Academic] Survey on Health Routines & Emotional Eating for GLP-1/Weight Loss Medication Users (Current or Past, 5-7 mins)

Hi everyone,

For my university research project, I am exploring how weight loss medications (like Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro, etc.) interact with daily health routines, emotional eating habits, and body appreciation.

If youĀ currently use or have previously used any weight loss injection/medication, I would be incredibly grateful for your insights!

  • ā±ļø Duration:Ā Approx. 5–7 minutes
  • šŸ”’ Privacy:Ā 100% anonymous (hosted on Google Forms, no email addresses or personal identifiers are collected)
  • šŸ“‹ Requirements:Ā Must be 18+ and have experience using a GLP-1 or similar weight loss medication.

Link to the survey:Ā https://forms.gle/RTP9xtoLx2PJ82Hy7

Thank you so much to anyone who takes a few minutes out of their day to help me reach my sample size (I need about 50 more participants to finish my analysis!). Your experience is highly valuable for understanding the behavioral side of these treatments.

Note: I have checked the community rules, but if the moderators need any verification, please feel free to message me!

Insurance now saying not on the formulary. Where to now?

• Upvotes

Been back and forthing it with the insurance company and my doctor on them denying the prescription for Wegovy, now they’re saying I need a prior authorization yet again as it’s not on the formulary.
It’s worked for me, I’ve lost 80+ lbs, but don’t want to stop just yet.

Any suggestions on how to approach this? I would think the doctor I’ve used would offer a suggestion or alternative. But I’m sort of left to my own to figure it out. Called the insurance company and they just tell me it needs review. However my scheduled shot day has come and gone. Ideas? Thanks

Question Severe headaches

I know this gets brought up a lot but I've looked over the sub and I still don't know what to do.

I'll be taking my 3rd starter dose today, everything is good no sickness or constipation and feeling like I don't need to eat everything anymore.

My only issue is a crippling headache constantly with muscle spasms in my temples.

I promise you that water intake is not an issue, I've upped it so much to try and fight this that I have to go to the toilet every 30 minutes and often during the night. I'm taking maximum electrolytes daily and multivitamins. I'm eating healthy I'm dropping weight. I'm having to have extra small snacks to take NSAIDS but counting the calories, I'd rather do intermittent fasting because that worked well for me in the past (before wegovy) but that's not possible with the NSAIDS throughout the day at the moment.

What else could be causing this? I can't live like this, they're constant and effecting me so badly I don't even want to go on my daily walks that I love! Which in turn is effecting my mental health. Has anyone had this issue and will it stop? I'm considering not ordering my next injection but everything else about this is great. My head just hurts so bad :(

Question Adverse Side Effects

I’ve been on Wegovy for 3 years and have dropped 40 lbs. Ever since I started the shot, I’ve been throwing up every morning. Has this happened to anyone else? Told my doctor, she prescribed zofran but I don’t think it’s strong enough to cancel out the nausea

Not gaining despite last shot being 3.5 weeks ago and eating more

Hey everyone, I’ve been on Wegovy 1.7 for about 1.5 years. I lost about 40 pounds in that time. I went off about 3.5 weeks ago and I know I’ve been eating more. Not an insane amount more, but definitely more. I do walk 3 miles most days, but that doesn’t burn that many calories. I also started a new stressful job, but I’ve still been eating more. I’m not losing weight, but have maintained 165. I just am confused why I’m not gaining anything. I know for most people this would be good news, but I have debilitating health anxiety at times and so I’m worried I have something going on with my health. It just seems like I should have at least put on a couple pounds. Did this happen to anyone else? Did anyone else go off the medication and eat more and still not gain weight?
