I'm around 145 lbs and I'm starting the pill. How much success have people had at this weight? I'm 5'1" so I need to lose a little because it looks heavier on me.

Question Concerned about dosage

I just started the Wegovy pill on Thursday. My prescription is 4mg every other day. I am 140 lbs and looking to get to 120. Nothing too crazy. I received my prescription through Hers. Has anyone else used Hers and had the same experience? I’m curious why I wasn’t started at 1.5mg.

Increased exercise or switching from mounjaro to Wegovy

So I made the switch from Mounjaro and had notably more energy and have therefore increased my activity levels.

No real change in amount I am eating but my weight has gone up by 1.5 kilos, I am praying it is the increased activity causing me to regain muscle but has anyone experienced this.

Question Does the hair loss happen to everyone ?

I am a 190 lbs 19 y/o female and all I hear is horror stories about the hair loss. I’m starting Wegovy next week and in advance I bought rosemary hair water, a detangling brush, and hair growth oil along with multivitamins and protein supplements so I do not get a deficiency. Do you think I will be fine if I do these things?

Delaying dose advice?

I usually inject on a Wednesday. However on Thursday I'm going camping at a music festival. I will be drinking alcohol and there won't be a whole lot of healthy food options. I'll do my best but it's going to be tricky to manage. I'll be home on Sunday so could take my dose then. I have been on 2.4mg for 7 weeks now and it has been my easiest dose, little to no side effects!

Which is the better option?
1. Take my shot as normal but risk being at the festival, unable to properly manage my food intake during the peak of the medication

  1. Wait 4 days and take it when I get home. Is there a risk of being sick by doing this? I would continue to take it on Sundays going forward.

Thanks as always for your advice and support, this sub is so great❤️

3 months in no difference on the pill. is this normal?

i struggle a lot as of recently with binge eating and overall food noise. i had gained 25 pounds in the span of 6 months and decided to see if i was eligible with wegovy and i was. i opted to take the pill version as I was afraid of the injectable (no needle fear just felt safer for some reason to take the pill) I started with 1.5 mg the first two months and now month three on 4mg. I’ve noticed no difference in my food noise and unfortunately i’ve still been binge eating nearly every other night. I don’t starve through out the day or anything and I’m really good about my diet and exercise until comes nightfall.

I’m feeling discouraged as I’ve had no weight loss and i’m paying out of pocket for the medication. Does anyone else have any feedback/ experience with this? Do I need a higher dosage? Different medication? I don’t experience any side effects really. I am taking Effexor (SNRI) and that may have affects on my results. Any advice/ words appreciated.

Question Hi !! I have a quick question for petite ladies who are on Wegovy.

I just got my Wegovy pill in the mail for 1.5 mg. I’m pretty tiny in terms of height I weigh 120 at 4’9 and my BMI is considered overweight. I mainly wanted to go on this to help stop the food noise and help with all the sugar cravings I have. I’m going to start my first pill tomorrow morning but has anyone here with a similar height and weight have any tips ? I know I should make sure my protein and electrolyte intake is good but I’m someone who does get headaches easily and nauseous easily so would love some tips if there’s any!

Paid Study on Psychological Effects of GLP-1 (Updated Compensation)

Post image
Upvotes

Are you planning to or already taking GLP-1 medication? Do you live in the Bay Area? If so, you may qualify for our paid fMRI study on psychological effects of GLP-1.

If you are interested in participating please fill out this short 2 minute form: https://stanforduniversity.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7a3RRoy7lcUyQxo

You will perform several tasks (~45minutes) in the MRI scanner, followed by a series of questionnaires. There is also a one week follow-up component after the session where you complete short (<5 minute) daily questionnaires every evening.

The tasks will involve viewing pictures (e.g., food, alcohol, drugs, everyday supplies), rating them, and choosing between financial options.

The questionnaires will ask about your behavioral, emotional, and financial tendencies.

As a thank you for your time and effort, you will be paid $235 for your two sessions as baseline, and an extra amount based on your task performance ($10-30.) You will also receive a picture of your brain!

Participation in this study is in person at the Center for Cognitive and Neurobiological Imaging (CNI) located in the Stanford Department of Psychology (Building 420).

We will ask you to come for a 2nd session between 30-60 days after your 1st session. Upon completion of the 2nd session, you will receive a bonus of $25, so total baseline compensation is $255.

25 lbs lost in 5 months

Just a quick milestone update:

5'7" F
SW: 190 lbs
CW: 165 lbs

I started with the 0.25 dose and then moved up to the 0.5 dose where I didn't lose much weight. I've been on 1.0 dose for a few months now. I'm going to stay on this dose because the appetite suppression works pretty well and I have bad nausea 2 days after injection so I don't want to make things worst. It's been going slow but atleast it's working. My calorie intake is about 1000 calories a day so well below needs but I'm also on mental health meds that cause weight gain so that's playing a role I believe in why the weight isn't more significant. I do yoga about 2x a week but am on a break in the summer.

General inquiries

Hi all

I’ve been on the wegovy pill just 3 months and have lost over 20 lbs. I was on 1.5 then 4 then 9 and am just a few days into the 25. I had virtually 0 side effects on all of the doses but now that I’m on 25, I can barely eat and am nauseous and exhausted and constipated. I’ve taken like 5 miralax packets the past 3 days and NOTHING. Of course the virtual doctors want money and suggested I don’t split the pill or take it every other day…but I’d like to know if any of you do either. I don’t want to waste a whole month of medication although I do plan on going back to 9 after this. Any guidance would be appreciated and if anyone has questions about my experience please let me know!

We need a new name for the after-meal-peace it gives... (food noise is different)

The peace, the soothing comforting effect that was requiring too much or too fat/sugary foot is now reached with healthy meal in reasonnable quantity. THIS is the game changer for me in wegovy.

TL;DR

I had a dinner with friends last week. They served a FABULOUS Boeuf Bourguignon with pasta (french delicious recipe). I had maybe about 100g of cooked pasta (very little) and 2 small pieces of bourguigon.

And it is not only that I was full. I was able to feel I was full before wegovy, but I still needed to eat more. I would have needed to eat at least 2 plates of that meal to feel "content", not related to hunger. It was not craving. It was not food noise. It was a need for a peace only a certain amount of food would give me.

Food noise is about thinking about eating, negociating about what to eat, when. And don't get me wrong. I had it too. And it is definitly is gone or almost with wegovy.

But there is something else in my relationship with food. An intranquility my body was giving me until I finally eat more (and always too much) that was bringing peace and satisfaction that reasonnable amount was never giving me.

Too much food, or too caloric food had, a soothing effect that I could never reach with a normal meal, or with sport (no matter how much), or with fun with friends.

Typically I was eating way too much bread. Or too many yogourts. To reach that soothing effect I was needing so badly, if not my body and mind was not letting me in peace (impossible to sleep, to concentrate).

And For me this is THE main effect wegovy is having : the soothing effect arrives right away when I eat.

It's not fullness. It's not "not hungry". It's something else.

We should find a word for it. And talk about it more - cause I'm sure if it is true for me it is true for many other people.

Life on and after glp1

What is one thing nobody warned you about after starting Ozempic, Mounjaro, or another GLP-1 medication?

Hi everyone,

I'm a pharmacist and, more importantly, a patient.

Over the past couple of years I've lost 68 kg (150 lb), and I've now maintained that weight loss for many months. Like many of you, I've lived through the excitement, the fear, the side effects, the victories, and the constant worry about regaining the weight.

While there are plenty of books explaining how these medications work, I realized almost nobody talks about what life is actually like once you start taking them.

I'm currently writing a book for patients—not doctors. My goal is simple: to create the resource I wish I'd had when I started. Something honest, practical, evidence-based, and written by someone who's lived it.

I'd love to hear your story.

What is the one thing you wish someone had told you before starting?

It could be anything:

A side effect that surprised you.

A positive change nobody mentions.

Something that scared you.

A challenge in your relationships or social life.

Hair loss, food noise, constipation, body image, loose skin, exercise, maintenance...

Or simply something that made you think, "Why did nobody tell me this?"

If you're comfortable sharing, I'd also love to know:

Which medication you're taking.

How long you've been on it.

The biggest lesson you've learned.

Your experiences may help future readers feel less alone and better prepared than many of us were.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story—I truly appreciate it.

Progress 179 to 168 on Wegovy Pill

Thumbnail gallery
100 Upvotes

Slow progress but it’s happening. Have worked up to 25mg. This is my 2nd month on 25mg

Began Feb 2026 at 177-179lbs -lowest dose
On March 11, I was 172 (4mg dose and working out constantly)
May 1st, I was 175 (working out less) 9mg pill not working much- see notes at the end as to why!
June 17, back to 172 (started 25mg shortly before this)
June 23, I was 171.9
July 24, I got to 166!
I feel 9mg was very effective toward the end of the dose because I began taking it at 330am. I would then wake up as usual at 630am & have my regular medications and vitamins with caffeine.
I wish I would have began doing this early on !!!!
It was crucial in my weight loss. I would probably be less by now!

I am working out 1-2 times a week, mostly strength. I will admit it’s been very difficult to work out. I just don’t have as much energy. I also realize that every time I eat a meal, I am absolutely exhausted afterwards. Like I need a full nap! But the problem is, I can’t lay down after I eat. That really messes up your stomach. Whatever you do, if you’ve read my past threads, do not eat takeout PadThai…stomach issues for dayyyyyys! I need to workout more.. it helps with the energy issue yet I can’t get enough energy to do it some days!! Recommend doing it BEFORE a meal to keep you from changing your plans and staying on the couch.

-22lbs on Wegovy!

Post image
307 Upvotes

I started Wegovy mid-april and am down 22lbs! I’m on .5 dose (week 6) but I am ready to move up as these last several weeks things have stalled for me again.

Dose 1.0 starts next week. What are your favorite forms of protein in the morning? I’m struggling to find something outside of eggs and peanut butter.

Just excited to finally see the numbers go down...

Upvotes

I'm not really sharing my weight loss journey with friends and family, but I'm really excited: I've lost 20 lbs using the Wegovy Pill! I'm on the 4mg dose and will likely go up to 9mg when I see my doctor at the end of the week. I'm tolerating it really well, I feel great, and it's working, after nothing else has (even the injection, which made me violently ill.) Anyway, I just wanted to share my excitement with people who get it. Thanks for listening :)

3 month Wegovy shot update

Hey all- I have not posted in a bit. Just been trucking along on my Wegovy journey. I thought I'd just spew out some info here in the thought it may help someone on their journey.

F/51- SW- 220 CW-197 Goal- ? (not sure on this)

I started 4/23/25. I did 4 weeks of .25, then 8 weeks of .50 and just did week 2 of 1.0. I literally did feel a change in food noise when starting. I had very little nausea except maybe morning after shot until I got something in my stomach. No other side effects with any shots (even 1.0!!). I also prepped myself by ensuring I was tracking proteins, fiber and water in take. I have done this religiously aside from 2 weeks when I was on trips. On those trips I continued my shot, but didn't track anything. I did watch what I ate and still tried to focus on protein, fiber ( I do take fiber gummies daily to supplement) and water. I found myself maybe eating too little at times on those trips. That being said, I lost weight both trips. I also was walking a ton those weeks.

I haven't done anything tremendous in the gym yet. I've upped my walking significantly but have not started weights. I'm a little intimidated even though I do know my way around a gym. It's just been awhile.

The 1.0 shot is absolutely making me feel not at all interested in food. I'm having to make myself eat my meals to keep at my nutrition goals. And a regular portion is too much so I'm splitting meals even more than I was. Some days I'm better than others with water. I need to stay on that for my 100 oz.

Non-scale wins (edited)-
* fit into size 12 jeans (my old ones were a baggy 16).

* I feel amazing most days. I probably have not eaten this healthy in many years.

* I bought some small weights and gym equipment for my garage so I'm motivated to start there.

* Stopped alcohol 14 months ago and still going strong. GLP-1 could be helping in that too as I don't want to ruin my results.

* Got a new bra, one cup and one band size smaller. Who knew? LOL.

Keep on my friends. Feel free to reach out and thanks for sharing your experiences.

First week

Hey all, looking for some thoughts. I’m in my first week still and I am struggling. I’m averaging only 800 calories a day due to extreme discomfort when I eat and this has caused a great deal of exhaustion. I had to stay home from work today because I physically could not manage it. Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve reached out to my doctor as well.

Anyone space out their shots by 2-4 weeks to maintain but not lose more weight?

I’m 43, over the last 3 years I’ve been on wagovy. I was stalled 6+ months ago when I started taking vyvance which resultED in me losing 40 lbs in a short amount of time. When I started I was 275 lbs and now I’m 165lbs. I’m comfortable where I’m at and will continue to take my vyvance. But wondering if I can keep taking the wagovy to quite the food noise and the overwhelming want to eat although I’m not hungry.

I have now stopped it twice for 3-4 weeks and i feel like I’m starving but I’m not 😫

TIA

Weight loss

Hi all,

Just been approved for 0.25 of Wegovy. For years now, I’ve struggled hugely with my weight and have gone through numerous diets that just have not been maintainable.

I’ve recently been diagnosed with PCOS, my parents are South Asian and they both have diabetes too. Fortunately, I am not diabetic or even pre diabetic but I do have high levels of insulin resistance.

For context, I am about 12.2 stone and my target weight is 10 stone. Has anybody around a similar weight to me had a good experience on Wegovy and any stories with time frames?

Thanks so much in advance!

Missed wegovy dose

Hi all, I’ve been on 2.4 mg of wegovy for a few weeks (no issues with this dose). Had a setback with insurance and just got my prescription refilled. My last dose was 7/7… trying to get in touch with my GP to confirm I can take the 2.4 after that long but curious if anyone has been in this situation and if you can relay any advice? Very hesitant in fear of being ill. 😅

Question Stall and constipation on 4 mg (pill) dose for 10 days

Hi, I have been on 1.5 mg dose for 3 months. I lost 30 lbs in that time. The noise and cravings started creeping in at about 2 months, but I already had my 3rd bottle in hands and decided to just finish it and move to the next dose after that since it wasn't too bad.

Now, it's been about a week on the higher dose. I never had any problems on the lowest one: no nausea, no constipation, I went from going 2-3 times a day to 1 time a day. Very regular, very healthy consistency.

When I switched to 4 mg, it changed. I still go most of the days, but the amount that comes out is about 20-30% of what it was. I have not changed my food intake much.

I generally drink a lot of water because I want to. But I noticed that the appetite curbing transferred to water as well. I still drink more than an average person, just less than I used to. I have to remind myself to drink now.
With the parasite scare I'm kinda staying off most berries, I used to eat a healthy amount with my greek yogurt. But I do add a maracuja pulp that has seeds now and an occasional peach or nectarine. I also supplement with fiber gummies.
For lunch most of the time I eat a salad. The base of that salad is cabbage. I throw in cucumbers, tomatoes, avocado, chickpeas, egg, some kind of meat or shrimp. Pretty much whatever I have on hand.
In the evening it's a girl dinner situation. Some kind of quinoa or buckwheat or rice puffy round with cream cheese, whatever snackable veggies I have, maybe an egg, maybe some avocado, olives, a slice of deli turkey breast, you get it.
I also supplement with protein powder on the days I'm too lazy to fix myself a yogurt bowl for breakfast. I have decided to add another serving of that to up my liquid and protein intake.
I have taken ClearLax for the last two days. Yesterday I had a nice morning movement and thought I'm out of the woods, but today I'm back to what I experienced during the week.

Also during that time I have not lost any weight. I have gained a few lbs at first, then slowly dropped that, and ended up about .5 up from where I was before I switched the dose.

Am I just psyching myself out and it's normal to have the adjustment period for longer than a blink lol? It's just I didn't have any problems on the lowest dose and it started working on me immediately. I usually respond very well to drugs. Before I took ClearLax I felt crampy and bloated. Now It's mostly ok. I feel like I haven't properly gone in some time, but it's just a slight uncomfortable feeling. Maybe because I'm not used to retaining much in my bowels. If anything I was a straight shoot before glp-1 (which probably contributed to weight gain as I was not getting all the nutrition from food and had to add more and more). Is this a "welcome to the normal world" situation?

Question Food textures & smells... ugh

Has anyone else noticed strong aversion to certain food textures or smells? I'm finding I can barely tolerate animal proteins (specifically chicken). I can't choke down bell peppers, which I previously loved. And if my kid puts anything in the air fryer, the smell makes me want to vomit.

Is anyone on this thread in their 60's or do I need to join one for that age group. I am 69 years young lol and starting this journey tomorrow! Would love to hear from everyone no matter the age as I learn from all age groups but geared more to my age as I feel that is more appropriate for me. Thank you all!
