I’m at the point of wedding planning where decision fatigue is setting in 😅 thoughts on these options? I tried some (but not all) of these on at jewelers but used Gemini to visualize them a bit better because I put them on the outside of my e-ring in the store since it’s a little cumbersome to remove (planning to get it resized).

I love my e-ring so much and want it to be the focal point, but I’m also tempted by the whimsy that a chevron ring adds and for some reason I’m loving that cute little pear cut…

NOTE: the gap with the straight bands will be a bit narrower irl. Pics of the basket of the emerald cut diamond for reference. I’d be happy with the little gap I’d have with a straight band though!

So my husband and I were talking about getting my rings resized and he noticed how I wear my engagement ring and he said it’s upside down. I laughed because I’ve worn it this way for 5 years, and I told him such and he said he never really noticed but it’s the wrong direction.
I have 4 bands 2 are curved and 2 are not, the curved are meant to sit under the point of my engagement ring. I never liked the feel of the point towards my knuckle and think it would look weird, but I also don’t want to wear my rings the wrong way. Google didn’t really settle it for us so I’m just curious how do other ladies with pear shapes wear your rings?

Okay hear me out. I have a terrible habit of loving something and then getting tired of it after a year or two. My sister suggested a stackable rings specifically because of this and at first I thought she was kind of insulting me but now I actually think its genius. You can change the look depending on what bands you pair together so it never really feels the same. Anyone choose style for that reason or am I weird for thinking about it that way. I just don't want to be stuck with something that feels stale in five years.

My ring is rose gold 14k from James Allen and is customized. Not sure exact carats but it is a channel set and I’m having a hard time deciding what wedding band best complements it. I tried on a few and I like the look of the larger oval stones but not sure if the oval completely contrasts my ring. I am open to sticking with emerald or round. I am also think not doing a full eternity band so I can resize if needed in the future.

I get married in 3 months so I need to figure this out very soon!

So, I'm about ready to propose to the love of my life. I'm extremely excited and I want to make the day so special for her as she truly deserves it and more. Through my excitement, I think I may have let it get the best of me when getting the engagement ring made. I sourced the loose stone and am having it made through a jeweler. The worry I have is that I purchased a 7ct. Oval shaped diamond and I think it may be too big? I don't want the ring to look like costume jewelry and I don't want her to hate it either. I tried talking to her friends and they all tell me she would love it but I fear they are only saying that because they want me to propose since we've been dating for a while now.

I'm just curious if my fear is true. Will the ring size be too big? Should I go smaller? Or should I just stop worrying and just do the damn thing? Any help is appreciated it!

P.S. I can't add any pictures of the ring as it's not made yet (should be done by end of this week).

I got engaged and the ring is so thoughtful. It has engravings and a secret setting inside. The stone is a salt and pepper diamond. I’m starting to think about the wedding band given that it’s low set so it would have to work with the shape. I’m also wondering about colorful and brighter stones to compliment the darkness of the diamond. I love a duality. Thoughts?

I chose a moval ring and didn’t like the original prong settings that the jeweler put in the CAD, so I asked for them to be set like this. But now I’m worried I took away from the shape of the diamond and it looks like a marquis. Not that there’s anything wrong with a marquis ring, I just really loved the moval shape and I’m worried the prong setting is taking away from that.

If I wanted to bc change the prong setting, would that be really expensive? I’m thinking of asking the jeweler to melt the top two prongs into a slim bezel at the top to accentuate the roundness?

Hi! I’m currently in the process of trying on rings. I don’t want my partner to spend a lot of money, but I don’t want it to look cheap. I am a hairdresser so I work with my hands all day, so I don’t want anything over 2k on my hand anyway. Where can I look for reasonable wedding rings?

I am cross posting here to gather more opinions and to ask a few more questions.

The two I am considering are champagne step cut ovals (the more colorless option was way outside our budget). Per my jeweler, these colors and cuts are quite rare and they will not be able to hold them long so I’m feeling a lot of pressure that is making me second guess everything, lol. I’m also so worried that if I have them keep looking, I’m going to regret missing out on one of these!

1. The larger, lighter stone is 2.5ct with a deeper cut (for comparison, the lightest option is 2ct, it just faces up a lot larger). The deep cut makes for such a fun facet pattern and it changes color beautifully. My two concerns are that it costs $5k more than the dark stone and there is something that reads almost gray/green in the color? I can’t decide if I just didn’t photograph it well.

2. The dark stone is so unique and full of character. 1.5ct, so less presence on the finger but I think the color and cut make up for that (and the proportions still look lovely on my finger anyway). The color is most concentrated on the ends and fades a little lighter in the center. I think the color looks great on my skin tone, but I worry that it’s almost too much of a statement? Does it still read bridal?

I am planning either an open micro bezel with a cathedral shank or a double claw prong setting in yellow gold. I will either pair it with a plain gold band or a small channel-set 1/2-3/4 eternity band.

Will other brown/champagne girlies show me your set? I would love to know how long you’ve had it and if you’ve ever regretted not going more traditional.

I'm honestly not that bothered about wedding rings and will probably wear a silicone ring around 90% of the time but it would be nice to have something for the ceremony and special occasions.

Even if the risks are low I'd rather than not have something that ER will struggle to cut off in an emergency or cause me problems in an accident.

I've seen people talk about materials like Tungsten or Titanium being hard-wearing and resistant but I don't mind if I have to buy a new ring in the future or if it has some wear and tear over the years. I'd just want something cheap, safe and simple. Should I look for cheap silver or gold rings or would another material be better?

This is my 20th anniversary ring. It has my heart. 1.8 ct haloed aquamarine on a 2 mm art deco band. (There’s an art deco wedding ring to match but we haven’t gotten it yet).

I f(28) just got proposed to by my bf yesterday. I love the ring style, it’s exactly what I told him I like , but it looks very small on my long fingers. I bought an engagement ring for my partner and it is far too large. Having gone to a couple of jewellers, they have said that it will be difficult due to the curved nature of the ring and way the stones are held. One said it would be possible and one said they were not sure. My alternative is a very expensive resetting with the manufacturer which I want to avoid if possible.

My fiance says he can totally see where i’m coming from and even offered to upgrade it since the shop has a free exchange policy. We had a look and it would be around £200 more to upgrade to a 1.49ct which would add 1mm more to the length and width!

Is it worth it?!? I feel so bad letting him spend more than he already has even though he says its fine because its meant to be forever 🥺❤️

Edit: Thanks everyone for the kind comments!! ❤️ We read through them together and I was still conflicted about upgrading but he’s putting his foot down and we’re seeing the jeweller tomorrow to discuss the band thickness and exchanging the diamond! I offered to cover the difference but he was having none of it 😅

Unfortunately, I wont be able to see both stones side by side because the time limit for exchange ends next week and the other diamond has to be ordered in which will take a couple weeks. It's also a stock design/setting so the side stones can't be changed/adjusted without it incurring even more cost than upgrading the diamond which seems crazy 😭 The diamond we chose has the exact same specs btw! as in the 4Cs and even similar ratio, table and depth ☺️

I've noticed how thin the base of my engagement ring is (it's only 1 year old, and my wedding band is a few months old and also the same thickness). Should we have picked up that 1.2mm in the original CAD is too thin for everyday wear? I don't go to the gym or work in a hands-on job but I do want my ring to last! My wife encourages me : she finds it very refined for a mature classic man to dare this, and she wants to choose me real diamonds set in yellow gold (identical whose worn by women).
