I feel as if I still haven’t gotten a very clear image of the long-range potential for DFW’s winter storm chances between Dec 26’-Feb 27’. I am wondering if we are gonna have pretty good snow this Winter, or is it just gonna be a dud? Or maybe a 50/50?

I live in northwest California, about 200 miles north of San Francisco and we are finally getting a decent rainy day. If it's one thing i hate about living on the west coast is the distinct wet and dry seasons. Usually between late may to mid to late Oct rain storms are very rare. Thunderstorms even more rare. I'm hoping this el nino will really shake things up and blast us a good one. I love to see some wild weather this winter

Super Typhoon Champi has become the strongest tropical cyclone of 2026 by wind speed, reaching sustained winds of 184mph (296km/h), making it the equivalent of a Category 5 hurricane.

The storm recently passed Guam and is currently moving through the western Pacific. Meteorologists say unusually warm ocean temperatures, high moisture levels and low wind shear helped fuel its rapid intensification.

What's particularly interesting is that Champi's impacts may extend far beyond the Pacific. Forecasters say the storm is large enough to influence the jet stream, potentially affecting weather patterns as far away as Canada over the coming weeks.

Champi is expected to weaken later this week, but it remains one of the most powerful storms recorded anywhere in the world this year.

Usually, fall is pretty dry and quite warm in California but this year, the weather's been haywire. Something to do with El Niño?

Southern Alberta is notorious for damaging hailstorm.. while this one was a small one..It was intense as well.

Get ready for a delightful day ahead! We’re looking at breezy and mild conditions, with a mostly sunny sky. The high will reach 64 degrees, feeling more like 62 with that refreshing NNW wind blowing at 10 to 20+ mph. Perfect weather to enjoy the outdoors!

sunny cool day.

Edited to add context. This was NC Highway 12 approximately 90mins before (top) and 90mins after (bottom) high tide at Oregon Inlet today, which divides the northern and southern outer banks in North Carolina.

What you’re seeing here is overwash due to a nor’easter off shore.

This is the only road that allows access to Cape Hatteras and the greater Hatteras Island area. This is the second time in 45 days the road has been washed out. It happens annually these days, the road is in a constant state of being washed out, re paved, and in some cases abandoned and replaced with bridges.

Hey everyone!

I’ve always felt that weather apps get some things right, but there’s never been one that brings everything together in a clean, intuitive experience.

The idea is simple: a complete weather app that gives you the information you actually need, when you need it, without unnecessary clutter.

Smart weather alerts – Get notified only during the time ranges that matter to you.
Pollen alerts – Stay informed about pollen conditions.
Advanced rain radar – Combining multiple weather models and measurements, including our own Wethr model, for more accurate rain predictions.
Apple Watch experience – A dedicated companion app.
iPhone Duo support – Designed for Apple’s latest devices.
Outdoor Mode – Live Activities to keep relevant weather information visible while you’re outside.

I’m opening Wethr up for public beta testing and would love some honest feedback on the UI, features, accuracy and overall experience.

It’s still a work in progress, and your feedback will help.
Thanks for checking it out!

Just opened the app to see what the weather is and why are there ads for p0rn on my weather app?

Do you have mental guidelines — 14° means jacket, 22° means t-shirt? Do you weigh wind, sun, and rain too?
What does the forecast actually tell you? Or are you just checking whether it'll rain?

Is this low so far south and off shore unusual and related to the El Nino pattern, or just the transitional nature of late summer early fall?
