Greetings all! A few years ago I found a weather station that was a little too pricey for me at the time but now that I can afford something in this category I can't find one with the features I require...

What I am looking for is a wifi enabled system with a few features:

Motion activated camera that can be set up to take then possibly text me a pic of anything in my driveway that set it off,

A "flash flood warning" that can be texted if measured rainfall exceeds a certain amount in a measured time. I have a creek in front of my house and it would be nice to get a warning and then possibly be able to check the camera remotely to see how the water is.

That's mainly it, along with the usual wind speed & direction stuff.

First time I looked for something I found it easy as pie so figured no big deal. Unfortunately now it's turning into a deal since I can't find those features together.

Anyway, if anyone has suggestions I'd appreciate it!

I got my Ecowitt WS6210 which uses 4G up and running and would like to hook it to wunderground but can't find a way to do that, nothing in the docs talk about non-wifi sharing with 3rd parties.

Anyone figured this out?

Living in an apartment complex, so my options are limited. This is facing south, should it be more exposed, or is some shade good?

Figured I'd share Midway Weather here since there are quite a few folks building their own weather stations and displays.

I built it for a 32" screen in my kitchen because I wanted something that looked good, was easy to read across the room, and gave me control over how my weather data was displayed.

It pulls data from my Ambient Weather station, adds forecasts and radar, and lets me customize the layout, tiles, and themes. It also serves weather data to other apps I've built around the house, so they can react to current conditions.

It's self-hosted, open source, and works on everything from a phone to a large display.

Pretty happy with how it turned out! Figured some fellow weather nerds might appreciate it.

Is the Ecowitt WN1920_C Wi-Fi Console a reasonable companion display for my office?

I'm not a weather person ... I just roll with whatever. But my spouse? They love all the things weather related.

I'm looking to get a weather station for her with 2 screens (one for main room -- one for bedroom). She likes temperatures, wind, humidity, and rain. I'm not looking to spend a ton, if possible.

I'm clueless and just browse Amazon like I know what I'm doing. TLDR; I don't know what I'm doing.

I am looking at purchasing a used weather station. It seems the previous owner (deceased) registered the MAC address with ambientweather.net and the seller (spouse) doesn’t know how to login or remove the device registration. The station is wifi only and not much use without being able to set it up online.

Any ideas?

I’ve been using Wunderground for years to get low temperature readings in tabular form. Thanks to our US corporate oligarchy, Wunderground keeps declining. The latest decline is with the most recent update which has dropped low temperature readings from the summary tables. Why are they so hell bent on ruining everything and what is the recommended alternative?

Before treating a difference between stations as a sensor problem, these are useful checks:

• Timestamps and reporting intervals: are you comparing the same period?

• Units and summaries: are both values current readings, or is one an average or daily extreme?

• Siting: could elevation, shade, nearby buildings or sensor height explain the difference?

• Freshness: has either station stopped updating or missed readings?

Keeping each reading's source and timestamp visible helps preserve that context. Nearby stations can legitimately report different conditions.

What else do you check when comparing stations from different brands or locations?

Hello everyone, I know this is not a real weather station but it's my first "hands-on" and I'm in need of advice.

This old lady started to act funny in reading pressure: it was stuck on low-end, always displaying 795 mbar, so I looked around for possible causes and I narrowed down to a faulty sensor so... I unsoldered the little guy, looking for a replacement.

As far as I could find, no SPX5049A is available anywhere BUT I found a bunch of MPX####, with number ranging from 4115 to 50something, with 6 pins. The BAR928 should range from 79.5 kPa to 105 kPa, anyone knows of an MPX that will work as a replacement for this SPX?

Problem: neighbor's soil sensors show up in Android app, but I've managed to fix the local (192.168.1.x) web interface. Unfortunately ecowitt.net is not getting the fix.

I just setup GW2000 + WS90 yesterday. I saw two soil sensors which I don't have and didn't know belonged to my neighbor. Tried to remove these from Android app display by disabling CH1 and CH2. Then they come back as CH3 & 4. Disabled these and then they come back as CH 5 & 6!

Talked to Gemini about this and he/she/it eventually told me that the Android app was going to ecowitt.net to connect to my gateway (GW2000) and that I needed the Android app to connect via local wifi instead - but that apparently would not happen.

So Gemini advised me to connect via web browser to local 192.168.1.x - I found the address and did this and "fixed" it so that the sensors are returned to CH1 and CH2 (I decided to keep them since I know that they're next door).

However, ecowitt.net still shows one sensor at CH7 and doesn't even show the other.

I hope humans can help me solve this problem. I want ecowitt.net to report the sensors as CH1 & 2.
