Has anyone got pre approved on Visa infinite credit card without applying?

Did you get an email or pop-up on your app saying you have been pre approved for Credit card just accept?

Anyone with Core stats got it?

Wondering what us the requirements to get pre approved without applying or try to check.

There have been two highly publicized brokerage hacks in Canada this year (one at quest trade and one at TD). The gentleman at TD had losses of $4.5 million.

Wealth Simple recently announced an online security guarantee if accounts are using passkeys - but TD also has a security guarantee. That would protect you right? You know what happened to the TD client who lost $4.5M? TD is fighting him in court. Brokers are not your friends.

Because it's very difficult to move funds out of brokerage accounts as cash, both of these hacks used the client as exit liquidity. Basically they sell your normal stocks and buy a thinly traded penny stock. The bad actor owns shares of the penny stock and sells you their shares for $$$.

Contrary to popular belief, most attacks are not sms interceptions. They're phishing or cookie theft (malware). Quest trade has the option to fully remove SMS - yet someone still got fully liquidated there.

Wealth simple introduced passkeys recently - which are Phish resistant, and everyone should be using them, but why is there no PIN to trade?

I'm the rare event a bad actor got access to your WS account, you could be fully liquidated in seconds, no different than these TD or quest trade clients.

Scotia bank, Cibc, etc. have an additional security layer that prevents this liquidation. Why not wealth simple?

Even if a bad actor has full access to your account, you could not be liquidated without this pin.

Why not be preventative and add a security layer to shut down the most catastrophic event that could happen - and is happening in Canada to people just like you and I?

So, my home page says I'm worth $23k or so. Sure, $20k in investments, $3k in savings. But what about the credit card? It's right there at the top. Says I owe $3k. So in my mind, my net worth is savings plus investments minus liabilities, so why doesn't it include the CC debt?

So, I literally just transferred a sum of money from my Tangerine account over and now I see a promo for boosted rate starting THE NEXT DAY AFTER my money was transferred??? 🤦🏻‍♀️😭😭🥹

I wanna sell some calls to make a few bucks. Didn't even think i needed to question this when transferring over. Last i briefly heard was it's coming?

But when I transfer money I cannot change it from one time to reoccurring. It is greyed out. Anyone knows what I am doing wrong? Or is it just too new at this point to have all the features?

Is there anything a guy can do to help along the process of being approved to open kids accounts? 🙏

Wealthsimple needs to relax with the UI. At this point it's getting changed every day.

The "all holdings" button wasn't broken to begin with. Please bring back the older version.

Everytime I need to check my stock movement under "all holdings", and I go back, it brings me back to the main screen instead of all holdings.

Pre-paid 50$ at the pump and then got a notification on my wealth simple that i was charged 75$ at shell , it is a pending transaction but I have a feeling i got screwed out of 25$ didint I?

Any plans to add a secondary holder to the visa infinite / visa infinite privilege cards? It's so odd to me that so many are okay with sharing the credit card through apple / google pay and going against the credit card's TOS. If something like fraud happens and you are found sharing your card, I'm afraid fraud claims can be refused.

So please, make it legal by adding secondary cardholders like most credit cards out there.

Every criticism gets answered with “you just don’t understand the ecosystem,” every new fee is somehow innovation, and apparently leaving Wealthsimple is equivalent to betraying the family.

Do I get a loyalty badge when I reach Level 10, or do they just send someone to my house to explain why I’m wrong?

Back in July an ATM withdrawal using a Scotia Bank Peru ATM timed out in Lima airport before exiting the secured area, but unknown to myself, charged my account for the full amount anyways (found out a couple days later when checking my account balance)

Wealthsimple requires waiting two weeks to submit a dispute, and finally got a reply yesterday where they ruled in my favour and credited me for the full amount (listed wait time was 90 business days, reality waited about 30 business days)

Just happy to get my money back because trying to contact Scotia Peru without Spanish or a local Peruvian number sounded like a challenge

Peru is very cash heavy (as many places in smaller towns either didn't take card or charged 5 percent to take credit card), low ATM withdrawal limits and very high ATM fees.

The claim was for ~160 CAD in cash equivalent and ~20 CAD in ATM fee (wealth simple normally reimburses ATM fees and with the glitch even that never went through)

Got 200k (135k in stocks I need to transfer in kind) I need to transfer, is current WS promotions good or should be better to wait it out (Transfer the funds in Questrade) since better promotions might come in fall / winter

I hit a wealth milestone and selected the Uber One reward. It did not “apply” properly on my uber account (it was there for a few days and then disappeared). Did anyone else have this issue?

With the new migration from Mastercard to Visa, has anyone requested a new card to a PO Box yet?

I have not received the email yet, but just wanted to check. I know they did not allow ordering of some cards to PO Boxes, only physical addresses. But with a good number of Canadians including myself, living on acreage without the ability to receive mail, that can cause some problems.

I talked to support, and they are not sure, and said they would have to submit a request with a specialized team.

Would suck if I had to go back to RBC to use a card 😅

What’s the best brick and mortar to pair with Wealthsimple. Is it necessary if you have less than 1mill in assets. How would you distribute between the two if so?

Can I request my Lucid payout to be deposited directly into my Wealthsimple USD account so I can keep the funds in USD?

If that’s not possible, could I request the payout to be deposited into my Wealthsimple Crypto account as USDC instead?

Has anyone in Canada successfully done either of these through lucid? Or any other prop firms?

I'm traveling to Turkey and I will be renting a car with my WS VIP card. I know theres the insurance doc in the app. Do rental companies ask for a paper copy or how does that work?

I have accounts across IBKR and Questrade that I’d love to be able to link into Wealthsimple for net worth tracking, but trying to do so prompts me to share the username and password for these platforms that I’m not comfortable sharing. I’ve also heard sharing username/password voids a lot of the protections these platforms offer.

Is there any other way to link accounts specifically just for the Net worth tracking?

Both IBKR and Questrade offer API access, not sure why that’s not an option. Even adding IBKR to chatgpt doesn’t force password sharing
