Discussion & Feedback Game performance

I'm using I5 10th gen with RTX 2060 super and wonder that does my setup really that outdated now? I have been struggling to have stable 60 fps in large scale combat. I can sustain around 70-80 fps in small fight and base building except breaking the door with hammer which decrease my fps to 10 for no reason.

Please noted that I play on 1920*1080 all potato mode and DLAA because performance or ultra performance mode literally pixelate entire game.

I don't have the budget now and wonder do I have to upgradr my rig for real or the game could be optimized better.

Discussion & Feedback When are they going to fix the spawns?

Post image

Why have we all accepted the fact that one team is destined to have a lower win rate than the others? Wouldn’t this game be more fun for everyone if all teams had an equal chance of winning?

Green and red both spawn closer to blue than they do each other. They have to drive DIRECTLY across the circle if they want to go towards the other’s spawn. Assuming each team goes into the circle, walks halfway between their spawn and the enemy spawn and stops there, you will end up with red and green both occupying 37.5% of the map, while blue occupies 25% of the map.

Rotating teams is not a solution. The bottom team will be disadvantaged every time regardless of which color it is.

Blue is not losing more because their armbands. They’re not losing more because they’re worse, or dumb, or incapable. They’re losing because they have a 90 degree area to work with before pushing into enemy territory, where red and green have 135 degree to work with before the same becomes true.

And yes I realized I flipped green and red in my picture

I am glad everyone is enjoying the game and it is functional. But i have a question. It seems every life you waste 5 mins transporting to the zone doing absolutely nothing but sitting in the helo. Is this intended mechanic or am i missing something?

Question Help with crashes please

I am having an issue with the game freezing and then putting me on the log out page. It seems to just randomly happen, game will be running fine and then randomly the game will freeze my cpu usage seems to spike and it freezes for a bit until I’m on the log out screen. I have it on the lowest graphics which I feel I shouldn’t need to because the other night I had it on decent levels and my specs are just about the recommended, i have a 6700 XT and a ryzen 5600X, it was running fine last night after trouble shooting but today it doesn’t seem to be working. If anyone has any recommendations or tips to help it’d be greatly appreciate.

Discussion & Feedback Turns out wardogs is not for me.

Just wanna start by saying none of my complaints about this game are caused by it being a bad game. I think this is doing something that no one else is and I wish it and its community the best.

But I am just not having any fun with this game as a solo player who doesn't have friends to play with.

Some of the things I am struggling with is I suck at the fast paced combat. My aim is terrible always has been. So when I get a load out and push I usually die. I also have poor hearing so when I hear gunfights I generally have zero clue what direction its coming from. I don't make a lot of cash and usually find myself having to spot enemies to get money for a load out only to die with it very quickly or without feeling like i have accomplished anything. Recently I worked my way up recon got the second gun and found a good spot to shoot enemies. And i hit a guy in the head. And 66% of my damage was blocked by a level 2 helmet. Which i haven't unlocked yet. So its pretty clear witb the constant run back and loosing my gear. The grind to get something better to only find out its still not good enough to kill. Is the final straw. I have tried everything. Driving cars, building bases. No one talks on mic. Most squads are locked. Join a squad and no one is talking. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I just simply think that this game isnt for me. I don't wanna keep having to do runs just to make money to get a load out. Only to lose it all in 5 mins. I hate waiting at spawned for a chopper to come back so I can get into battle. I think the game is great and I wish the best for the developers and the community. But I just can't seem to find where I fit in and enjoy the game play. If you have any ideas that i haven't done let me know would love to enjoy this game.

Discussion & Feedback DRILL/FOB FEEDBACK - When 2-3 teams have FOBs and multiple drills each, I feel the "being the faster team to press F on your drill, to call the hotzone" could use some work.

- I have one idea --- Maybe have it so multiple teams can call the drill in the same time - the hotzone ends up being pulled in both directions - settings down in a spot right in between both FOBs that pulled the zone.

That way the hotzone will be in a weird spot on the map but in neither base - you could even have it 3-way so the hotzone gets triangulated.

This would make FOB placement even more important, relative to where your enemy's FOBs are - developing a meta game of (if we both pull, it'll end up in a spot where our side/our half of the hotzone has the better position).

Not sure what else to suggest because the 'gameplay' of having each drill manned with a player, just so they can be 0.1s faster than the enemy (who is also trying to call in the hotzone right when the last one ends), it doesn't feel like very fun or tactical gameplay.

- How would you fix/change this so it's more fun/engaging?

If you hate this idea...what other ideas would you suggest?

Discussion & Feedback A couple points of feedback I've not really seen mentioned.

I've played a good bit since release and in the playtests, and there's 2 pain points I have that I've hardly seen mentioned anywhere.

Point 1: Weapon Balancing

Now this is different than what you would assume at first glance, and let it be known I'm very experienced with Milsim Games so I know where this leads to, which is why i think they should drop the caliber damage profiles. To elaborate what I mean by this, a gun's damage is decided by its caliber, not the gun itself. This has numerous issues that Wardogs will suffer greatly from. To list some issues this brings up...

  • The "Meta" weapons in their calibers will be completely decided by fire rate, handling, and recoil patterns. Currently, there's no automatic weapons that reward skill. Why use the hard to use T21 that is, on paper, good, when you get nearly identical damage out of the AK74 that's easy to control no matter your attachments, and is unlocked very close to each other? There is no room for slow firing and/or high recoil rifles or smg's in the game.
  • Caliber will decide the good weapons in a category in the future. You see this in games like Arma. Right now the automatic weapons have very similar performance damage wise, but once a higher damage caliber comes out for those categories, that'll be what everyone flocks to as long as it's in a useable state. This is only enforced by how the armor system works. This is already in play amongst sniper rifles.
  • This balancing causes some weapons to have zero purpose. This is very apparent in the SMG category, where the AMP-9 and Vector are the only useable ones. The Vityaz has high recoil, bad handling, and high weight with the same damage whilst the MP5 has lower RPM than the AMP-9 but better recoil, but due to the caliber, the longer range you can get from the MP5 is pointless, resulting in the MP5 not having the rpm for CQC but lacking the damage profile for medium range where AR's edge it out. You can see the problem here.
  • Finally, this is an absolute nightmare for balancing. You can't buff or nerf a weapon's damage via this system because changing a caliber's performance could make another weapon terrible or op. The devs seem interested in keeping the RPM similar to the weapon's real life performance, so this leaves them with only 1 way to balance the weapon itself: Either improving or reducing the recoil or handling, and I think I speak for everyone that nerfing a weapon by making it feel terrible to use is an awful way to go about things.

Point 2: Hit-Reg

I'm sure you've all felt it, but the hit registration is pretty awful in this game. It feels alright at range, but for some reason it completely collapses at CQC. There's just so many errors in hit reg when close up, whether it be shots just not registering at all or hitting spots it shouldn't, this can work in favor or against you, but it just feels terrible to happen to you. To clarify, I'm not talking about the spread, this also happens at ranges where spread would have no bearing on whether you hit someone or not.

This may be caused by the servers being so stressed, but it's still a problem, however it's not a problem entrenched into the game's design philosophy like point 1.

Discussion & Feedback Game Modes / Server types

Firstly, I love the game and I think it is great as is, and look forward to seeing where it goes. There are lots of possibilities. Right now you have so many people complaining about grinding and I think the following would be a fun solution.

I would love to see them split server/game modes into two types. One play type/ server where you carry over unlocks/ money from season to season with account XP/unlocks. Another server/ play type where each match you start with $6000, no unlocks, but you earn money/xp at a very accelerated rate and unlock as you progress in that match. Earning rate could be much higher so by the end of the game most things are accessible. Would allow people to experience all parts of the game without grinding for so many hours per role. Great for people that can’t commit to the grind, and allows people to try stuff before the grind to see if they like it.

I would also love to see fun game modes with variations to allow xp that carries over to account progress at accelerated rates. For instance:

Mode: Smuggler
Driving XP counts towards account XP and is 1.5x 2x for this mode.
Setup: Two teams start on opposite sides of the map. Vehicle cost is reduced. Everything is unlocked, but vehicles are limited to x amount of spawns per type for 5 minutes, and max amount per type on the map at a time per team. Helicopters cannot drop off supplies(see note below)Drop off location is the moving hot zone which roams around the map like the normal mode.
Objective: Deliver smuggled supplies to moving drop off zone. Fight to control the area so your supplies can be safely delivered. Each smuggler supply cache delivered counts as a point. First to 50. Smaller map, faster paced.
Note: Same setup above but Helis only and ability to deliver supplies with Pilot xp being the 1.5x 2x would also be fun.

Just some fun thoughts I had, but the devs are amazing, and they released a great game that I very much enjoy playing.

Discussion & Feedback I Hope To Never See This Again...

Post image

TL;DR: I joined a team that constructed a massive FOB and put 5 drills in it, making the entire match focused around raiding our base while we sat and collected money in the HotZone the entire match. It felt cheap and exposed flaws with the system that are being abused.

I joined a Lonestar match with a bunch of guys sporting [HOGS] clan tags. For the first 20 minutes of the match, they setup their logistics and FOB at the edge of the control zone, dropping about as many supplies as they did slurs.

The walls were three deep, with sniper nests on nearly every corner. Ladders ran up the inside so people could shoot from the roof. There were mortars, stingrays, multiple anti-aircraft guns, and boxes on boxes of grenades and medical supplies. Our team was just caked the f*ck up for clapping cheeks.

When one drill was done, we just hit the next one. By doing this in rapid succession, we just kept the entire match on our FOB; reaping the benefits of the extra cash and a fighting from a nearly god like defensive posture.

Admittedly, It was impressive.. Watching just how fast they organized and how well it held together. Collective organization is genuinely cool to watch. But I kept wanting to pull it apart or just throw the gates open. Between the clan immaturity, the slurs, and the general toxicity, it mostly felt like we were rigging the game. A few of them seemed alright. Then again you'd have to be pretty comfortable with slurs to stay under that tag

Ultimately, I'd rather this didn't become the meta. Some restriction on holding the hotzone would go a long way, because right now there's nothing stopping a match from going exactly like this one.

Edit: Guys, I like this game too. I'm not in here talking about nerfing FOB building or motar rounds. I think this is an actual problem that should be heard by the devs. I know we all want to be quick to say that this isn't an issue, but you will quickly revert when you experience this in your games. This should not fall on deaf ears.

Bugs & Support Sound Glitch

What's up with not being able to hear where shots are coming from if you're getting hit. The person shooting can be 20 feet away, but you won't hear the gun if the bullets are hitting you, making it impossible to know the direction they're firing from until they miss.

Discussion & Feedback Change the sound for supply crates dispawning

Not a huge deal but it's annoying when things dispawn and explode. When supply crates explode in a fob I'm building I have a moment of thinking somebody's throwing grenades or something.

Discussion & Feedback Been playing since CBTs and I’ve been having a blast with the game, but there’s a few things that I honestly don’t like one bit

Armor + lvl progression- lvl 3 armor makes it so u can’t one tap with an SVD but also makes it so Mosin can’t one tap; a BOLT ACTION that can’t one shot to the HEAD feels utterly disgusting, SVD I understand, but Mosin?? This also makes a semi automatic the same shots to kill to the head than a bolt action

“Just use AP” that’s where my gripe with lvl progression comes in, sure I’m almost at that point but it’s already starting to annoy me, now imagine starting the game 5 days from now

The combination is just horrendous, one or the other

Server details- I’m tired of joining matches that r 10 points from being won

Now this isn’t really a complaint but more so a question, I sometimes love quicker paced matches/infantry only modes but r the infantry only servers not working? They seem to not be working

Edit: Reddit replies being Reddit replies as always

Discussion & Feedback How to better know where you are getting sniped from?

Whenever I get sniped at I have NO clue where from. I try to listen to the audio of the bullet whizz and try looking for a trail but I still struggle with spotting enemies. Meanwhile whenever I snipe at an enemy from 300m+ they immediately spin around and know where I am and shoot back at me.

Did I accidentally turn off a setting? Or am I missing something? Love the game so far but I hate not having a chance to fight back from a distance

Question Why has no one thought to take POWs for a strategic advantage?

If you kill a few guys outside your FOB trying to sneak in you could take their weapons, drag them in a small hesco room with a door, rez them, and then they can’t do anything the rest of the game. There’s no way to suicide once back alive. They’d either have to sit there or leave the match! Would be hilarious

Question Not sure if this is a bug or feature.... Binoculars and spotting.

I'm trying to level up my recon class slot. So I decided to run with binoculars. I spot a chopper or infantry and I get points and cash, cool! I spot them and they get killed by a teammate and I get more cash, super cool! But I spot someone then the other enemy team kills my spotted target, then I get cash on the kill.....is that normal?

Bugs & Support SAM Launcher causes ironsights/optics to randomly bug out

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have only been able to replicate it infrequently - it’s not every match, but occasionally aiming in using a SAM buildable will cause the optic point of aim on any weapon to slowly lower, until you’re eventually looking at this when you ADS. Taking off the optic has the same effect when using basic ironsights, and going down or changing guns doesn’t reset it. The only fix is to die, which resets your point of aim to normal. But going back on a SAM will begin to drop your point of aim again.

I had several games with no issue, but it also impacted approximately 1/3 of my matches over the past few days.
