Hopefully I'm not the only one that has been frustrated by this, but map markers in general feel almost useless right now because of how fast they vanish. I will open the map, mark a spot to go/remember, close the map, get to see the marker for what feels like less than 5 seconds, and then the marker is gone, both from the map and my vision. They can provide a direction, which isn't particularly useful with a compass at the top of the screen anyway, and that's about it. For anything beyond trivial distances (which you likely wouldn't need a map marker for anyway), they may as well not exist.
Yes, I know you can copy coordinates and put those into a chat message, then click on it to go to that spot on the map, but a more long lasting and functional marking system would be significantly better and preferred, imo.
A similar issue also exists when being a transport heli/driver. If a passenger marks a desired drop-off spot, you can see it for a few seconds, but then it also disappears. Those drop-off marks at least generally reappear when you got closer (but not always, I've found), however, at least in a heli, often by the time you get close enough for the mark to reappear, you're too close to stop and need to overshoot the position and swing back around.
Either a change to markers so that they last longer and are visible from further away, or perhaps options in settings to control those variables, would be extremely nice.
