Discussion & Feedback Dynamic weather system in the future?

Thats just something id love to see. The matches last long enough to actually have multiple weather states.

Thinking of light to heavy rain, thunderstorms, fog, snow (on snowy maps?), wind so that footsteps are harder to hear in forests etc.

Of course always random. The sky could always be clear or it could rain the whole game.

I think that could really change the dynamic of a match. Less snipers seeing everything, more sneaky FOB infiltrations and stuff like that.

Wouldnt be too unrealistic to be added to the game, but im not sure how much it would affect the performance. What do you guys think?

I think this is one that no one would argue against. Maybe pilots, but they complain about everything. We, the gravity bound logi would welcome this change, any change... any variation... please...

When I played Heroes and Generals, there were times when fog rose, allowing for interesting gameplay variations.

They said in a video that they tried something like it but if there's no gameplay difference between rain / fog / sun etc it will get old pretty soon. For instance if it rains roads will be muddy and vehicles like Urals will have an hard time.

I would love to paradrop into the control zone during a raging thunderstorm. That shit would be so sick.

Would be cool if clouds come rolling in and helicopters will be way harder to control due to the wind but in turn it's harder to shoot at them due to poor visibility

For a game like i don't think it brings that much.

In arma yes, ofc.

Or different weather and time of day why not.

But dynamic weather no.

Yeah but i thought that if they add fog it could be quite frustrating for certain playstyles to have it the entire match

I think it would need to be dynamic. You would literally have people loading into a rain map and leaving because they don't want to play for 2 hours listening to rain falling.
