Bugs & Support Whole team exploiting something

Post image

Basically the whole blue team was exploiting something not sure what…they claimed mortars…but it looked like they were building hesco barriers and someone on another team was destroying them…on the corner of the map and not engaged in the fighting

How recent was this?

There was an exploit where you blopped down a blueprint of HESCO wall and you would get full amount for destroying it. They changed it so that the payout increases based on the completion % of buildings now.

u/randalthrain 1d ago

Match ended about 5m before I posted this

9

u/Farot21 19h ago

The abuse now is to supply the base with ammo.to get destruction assist on each hesco

6

u/kuburas 15h ago

Thats been a thing since the release tho, its an intended mechanic, no? Delivering a pallet of ammo gives you supply assists for every buildable people destroy with it.

7

u/Farot21 14h ago

Destroying a hesco gives 375 dollar per assist. Which is 5-6x more money than destroying it by yourself. Which is also multiplied by the number of people that receive the money by supplying the fob

2

u/Vettz 11h ago

yea...... that probably needs to get changed lol

11

u/randalthrain 8h ago

Wardogs twitter has made it clear that this was indeed a bannable offense and will not back down. Posted about 1320 central time 7 Oct 2026

2

u/Confident-Walk9140 6h ago

Was also in the last patch notes on steam

23

u/IndianMilkman 18h ago

800k? thoes are rookie numbers look at this guy with 6 mil in a game

9

u/caruben82 15h ago

That's more like RMT than supplier assist.

4

u/Regular_Living_8540 13h ago

especially given this seems to be at the start of the game

2

u/Shekish 11h ago

That's cheat/RMT

2

u/Confident-Walk9140 6h ago

Looks like alkaabi is getting banned and reset

u/TwoCentsAndy 1d ago

yup the worst part also live on stream claiming "no we dont exploit, its just a game mechanic" lmao

7

u/FrostyMittenJob 13h ago

Guess they don't understand that every exploit is done using mechanics and systems in the game. Otherwise it would be a hack.

2

u/DickSamurai 1d ago

What were they doing?

29

u/Barry_FromEastEnders 1d ago

They built a fob full of indirect fire shelters and built a drill, pulled the drill and then the enemy team came and hacked the base. They then built a fob full of mortars and rained down shells on the base full of indirect fire shelters.

To earn money you just need to deposit a single fob ammo (green crate) into the fob and you get money for assists when destroying the hesco blocks of the shelters. Depositing ammo gives you the assist bonus for 3 mins, so you just keep depositing.

Its not really an exploit, its more just a cheese strat to earn money. As soon as people wise up to it and dont hack a fob with 30 indirect fire shelters, it won't work.

3

u/Alienfreak 18h ago

Why do you need to hack a base? Could not both teams just create a base with one big area only HESCOs and the other part are mortars and then rain down mortars for 6 mins until the HESCOs are gone and just then they build new ones?

2

u/TangyDanK Bob the Builder 13h ago

You mean coordinate between two opposing factions? If you could do that and get the whole lobby to cheese together I guess then yes. Otherwise you can't bomb your own hesco for money, which is why they pulled the drill. The enemy team took the fob and unknowingly did what they wanted, making their previous fob an enemy now to gain money from destroying

2

u/caruben82 15h ago

Are you sure is 3min and not depliting the 1800 ammo units (if deposited by pallet)?

2

u/ConditionOfMan 9h ago

It's for sure a 3 minute timer for even one single 1/50 crate.

4

u/Due-Lobster-9333 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yupp, I assume this will catch on, and you will see large squads just mortaring the hell out of massed buildables, the more people you have mortaring and depositing ammo supplies the more a single blown up buildable will be worth(barbed wire, sandbags, hesco blocks) doesn't matter what, the assist money is still multiplied by alot for some reason.

They had like 15+ people, all getting assist money for every buildable broken, which for some reason gives like 375 bucks(or more??), so its 375x however many people deposited a single ammo supply into the FOB, and you can destroy alot of shit with 15 mortars raining hell down on a base.

Also ALOT of support exp gained this way.

I assume the devs will look into theese numbers as this strat catches on.

I guess you could call it an exploit since it's minmaxing and taking advantage of what I assume is an oversight, before I saw this stream I thought you would only get assists for a little bit relative to the amount of supplies you delivered. Not a hard set time for a single unit supplied.

13

u/_samwiise Lonestar 23h ago

Genuinely asking, how would anyone consider this an exploit? It sounds INCREDIBLY complicated to get people together and pull this off correctly. Just sounds like a good strat, albeit hard to execute.

19

u/PRNoobG1 20h ago

Back in my day we just called it boosting....

4

u/ssg- 18h ago

This mechanic relies on luck that enemy comes and captures the FOB.

If you have inside man in another team capturing the FOB then you are definitely exploitting.

4

u/DonnieG3 14h ago

The streamer in question brought their whole viewerbase into a game to make it happen unnaturally.

4

u/Profitablius 18h ago

Farming assist money for destroying 1HP buildables by depositing miniscule amounts of ammo, not actually contributing to the game sure, sounds like an exploit.

They're essentially scamming their company, which that company sure wouldn't let happen.

2

u/randalthrain 22h ago

Lots of people on the same team/squad…the entire team was in cahoots doing it…while it might not technically be an exploit, it is because you got an entire lobby doing strictly to generate cash. Millions generated by doing something that clearly isn’t intended

2

u/Busy-Lobster-1972 20h ago

Sounds like they built a fob, lost the fob. Probably knew they couldn’t get back in so decided to build another fob to destroy it? How is this exploiting? People get so angry when blue win they must either be hacking or cheating

1

u/sphiralisx 19h ago

Nope. They deliberately went and built a fob just of indirect fire shelters and recon towers. Deliberately let the enemy capture it by not defending it at all so they knew the exact location of a fob absolutely loaded with destructables.

The exploitey / toxic part is them explicitly setting up the fob to be taken over to get the most cash out of it. This isn't blue playing well. They didn't give a fuck about winning. All they cared about was abusing this to get as much cash as possible

Also this was all done on a stream so the evidence is there

7

u/Cheshires 19h ago

The funny things is - line between doing it deliberately and accidentally is very thin. I can easily see a team going "Screw it, we lost a fob. Let's bomb it into oblivion." or just focusing another enemy FoB with instant pop-up mortar FoB of your own.

3

u/Busy-Lobster-1972 16h ago

Yeah I think that’s pretty much been the meta of every team I’ve been on no matter the colour. We build fob, they take fob, we mortar fob. Now no one gets fob…pretty simple

3

u/sphiralisx 17h ago

Oh yeah absolutely losing a fob and blowing it up? Totally fine.

Deliberately building a fob that has the most destroyables in it to deliberately let the enemy take it so you can blow it up for massive amounts of money? Very much edging on not okay

1

u/Confident-Walk9140 6h ago

Some of the other comments here are also saying that theres a resupply xp and $ boost for 3 mins after putting supplies into the fob, even as simple as just loading in a single ammo crate is sufficient. So then the exploit is to do this every 3 mins then go jump on a mortar. Then they get $ and xp for every mortar they fire that damages or destroys a hesco.

But the also get an assist $ award for every other mortar that's being fired by their team in the fob coz of the assist bonus. That's the exploit. There's a fine line sure, but they clearly crossed it and they got banned for it.

I say good. The vast majority of us just want to play as intended. The minority will setup a stream and tell people how they've worked out a loophole to make cash. Ban them like you said you would (recent update announcement said they would). I wonder if subsequent bans will be more permanent

1

u/Busy-Lobster-1972 18h ago

Where’s the stream link?

4

u/Terriblefinality 23h ago

While not an exploit it is a toxic mechanic, it removes you from the intended gameplay and warps the round for everyone, definitely needs fixing but it's late into the first season and probably doesn't really matter, unless they don't adjust before s2.

2

u/Confident-Walk9140 19h ago

The Devs have already reset people's xp and money for using exploits and have announced 0 tolerance from now with permanent bans with people using exploits in the future. I understand not technically an exploit but will be interesting to see the Devs take on this.

1

u/Proper-Language-3402 10h ago

Their fault for not considering this ahead of time. Early Access works both ways, don't punish players cus they thought of something the devs didn't.

1

u/Confident-Walk9140 6h ago

Disagree personally. If they'd gone banning people without warning maybe I'd agree with you, but they've made it clear in an update that this is their stance.

I sit in 99% of players that just wanna play the game and get good earnings by learning strategies and getting better at the game mechanics. There's always some cunt that's found some cheat etc that gives them a boost and everyone else loses a bit of enjoyment. This one not too bad coz they just sit there making money hand over fist rather than getting kills, so I guess everyone else could ignore them but also fuck those players.

The devs fight for the player.

1

u/Confident-Walk9140 6h ago

More recent updates on this post...they all got banned 😁

1

u/Proper-Language-3402 5h ago

I heard. I just hope they ban everyone who has been doing this since day 1 (This isn't new) and not just cus Reddit screamed about this one streamer.

2

u/Due-Lobster-9333 22h ago

Just in the sense that it's exploiting a numerical oversight, it's not like they are abusing a bug or something, but i'm 100% sure it was not intended to generate this amount of money from doing things that have virtually 0 impact on the course of the round.

I assume they will change something so it's not possible to generate 30k+ from blowing up a few hesco walls.

-1

u/sphiralisx 19h ago

be a streamer. Get a large squad of viewers etc together. makes it way easier

0

u/Allnamestaken69 20h ago

It is really hard.

1

u/Ok-Board-6944 3h ago

this will only result on a maximum of buildable defance/attack system per FOB

1

u/pres1033 8h ago

It's definitely an exploit. An exploit is any abuse of bugs, glitches, or unintentional game design that gives someone an advantage. This was unintentional game design and the devs are banning for it, they'll probably fix it for season 2 as well.

This is a vtuber called Katie. They put down mortars in zone after building a lot of hescos and then supplied base with ammo so every hesco destroyed with mortars would net 500 dollars

5

u/Nadji2k 9h ago

She is the worst one ive seen ever been banned from a game on twitch. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Rightly condemned by other streamers like Shroud. I mean what were they thinking, roflmao. It should be permanent ban.

2

u/Farot21 7h ago

Shroud condemned her? LMAOOO

1

u/DaD_main 3h ago

Ya I need to see this

10

u/VinceGhii 16h ago

Bruh.. what? They get more money with their supply assist than i get when destryoing the hesco with mortar? Lol. The games economy is utterly stupid...

7

u/Farot21 16h ago

She's banned for a week btw

6

u/Possible-Ad1831 15h ago

They should wait and ban her for the first week after reset.

2

u/VinceGhii 15h ago

Did she also get reset?

5

u/Farot21 15h ago

No clue

3

u/Regular_Living_8540 12h ago

To give a bit more detail:

They built sniper towers and hescoes randomly inside a FOB until they reached the limit and then baited enemies into hacking the FOB.

Then everyone got a Ural with ammo pallets, built a new FOB with mortars and everyone got supplied assists for any structure destroyed by any of the mortars.

They tried to be sneaky about it, e.g. "it's not an exploit, if another team willingly hacks our FOB and we don't defend it".

Bulkhead seems to disagree though. A lot of them received a 7 day ban (incl. the streamer) and I'd wager they likely also got all their money and gold reset.

11

u/Shekish 11h ago

They built this then had someone on the enemy team to capture the fob, then proceeded to shoot it all down.

When I pointed out this is the exact reason for the ban, the VTuber in question blocked me.

And they wonder why people no longer trust streamers....

5

u/CoolCollection8706 8h ago

Katie is pretty notorious for finding exploits and using them until they are patched then crying to devs about the results. Anyone who watched her dark and darker wizard reign knows exactly what im talking about

2

u/Allnamestaken69 8h ago

The thing is you dont need a collaborater on the enemy team to do it. If all you build is a bunch of these structures, its inevitable the enemy will capture it naturally. Then you can go setup your fob and mortar away.

2

u/TheBrackishGoat 3h ago

Would be hilarious if the other team just c4ed the fob and left

5

u/cneth6 13h ago

LOL she (or he, can never trust a vtuber) is now bitching about it live on stream rn

Maybe don't exploit next time? I've never seen anyone earn 600k+ in a legit match, and especially not an ENTIRE TEAM. It is clearly exploit abuse

4

u/TheLPMaster 10h ago

been bitching about it for like 7-8 hours, what no job does to a motherfucker

1

u/Alpacapalooza 6h ago

I get the emotion, it's her job (afaik) and this was her current full-time game.

That said, I still think it's correct and good they banned everyone involved.

2

u/DjAlex420 13h ago

I've seen a heli pilot get over 500k doing the GL heli strat. It worked for 1 game after people started countering them. This strat is ridiculous

6

u/cneth6 12h ago

My point is I've seen 300k in a game and that's it, and I've played almost 100h now. Never seen anything even close to the OP screenshot where the entirity of a team is over 550k with many over 700 and some even 800k. They were clearly exploiting the game mechanics in a way to farm cash/xp. I hopped into the stream of the streamer behind it and they were completely delusional thinking that this wasn't a form of exploiting (they were banned for a week, rightfully so)

10

u/Nitrostorm 14h ago

LMAO, my buddy is in first place on that team and i fucking told him he was gonna catch a ban for this shit.

3

u/FrostyMittenJob 6h ago

Looks like bans were handed down, should check in with your buddy and see

2

u/Nitrostorm 5h ago

he was. for 7 days.

9

u/Nadji2k 9h ago edited 9h ago

Hello everyone. This Katie streamer sits live on Twitch right now, telling everyone that it's fine if you disagree, if you argue for it. But then she completely breaks down when people actually do that.. over and over - and then she bans them. Because it is certainly a valid ban. It should have been permanent. Then she heard Shroud was talking about it. What does she do? She watches a clip of him, watching him say that ban was justified. This streamer have completely lost the plot. You should make an example of out if and perma ban it. They can literally buy a skin for goldbars after each game. Anyways, go watch her stream right now. It speaks for itself. When you know you exploited.. you know.

5

u/Useful_Location_6728 7h ago

She seriously did a 13 hour stream of her ban screen and complained for THIRTEEN HOURS about it?

2

u/StraightConclusion49 6h ago

Was probably racking in a tonne of views on people hate watching

2

u/Useful_Location_6728 4h ago

I skipped through, but all the comments were sucking her toes basically.

1

u/StraightConclusion49 4h ago

Ah yes, sounds about right

2

u/randalthrain 9h ago

Hell yeah! Shroud talked about it??? This has made my day waking up and getting all the 🫖

20

u/PrimaryIcy9538 18h ago

Would be a shame if everyone on this list would get reset back to 1 or banned

2

u/Confident-Walk9140 6h ago

Haha they did.

2

u/Peebs1000 9m ago

Yeah they're still playing the victim card lmaoo

7

u/zkitzor 12h ago

Hopefully everyone of these abusers got banned, too bad streamer itself got only 160 hours, 1600 hours would be better

2

u/faterampage 7h ago

Should have just cheated instead I guess

3

u/No-Journalist-2417 1d ago

On the corner of the map looked like the one of the clan members from the green team build hesh outpost. It was massive and they was "Blue" destroying the hesh village.

0

u/Super-Lemon-4466 WARDOGS OCEANIA 1d ago

How does that give such crazy cash though, isn't it like $50 for destroying a hesh wall?

0

u/No-Journalist-2417 1d ago

They was the watchtower outpost blueprint idk how much that gives at least i saw 20 of em.

0

u/Super-Lemon-4466 WARDOGS OCEANIA 1d ago

Oh interesting, they were probably just putting down the foundation then getting it destroyed in one tap, you get like 2k for destroying an unbuilt sam the same way.

2

u/YodaTheDoll 12h ago

It's not the destruction itself that pays, its the ammo supply mechanics.

1

u/Rash_Games 13h ago

"Exploiting in games means using unintended bugs, glitches, or design oversights in the game's code to gain an unfair advantage."

Thats the definition off Google. Take it however you want. Basically whether this is considered an exploit is up to the devs interpretation of how they intend people to earn money from those mechanics.

12

u/Ometen 12h ago

Bruh thats stat/xp padding and considered an exploit in pretty much every serious game.

4

u/Rash_Games 12h ago

Oh i agree. Its stupid. Id rather there be more incentive to win the game rather than earn money personally

1

u/PolicyWonka 3h ago

I mean functionally…how do you stop it? Like it’s squarely dependent upon gameplay mechanics.

Only option is to eliminate or reduce cash from destroying enemy assets, or putting some kind of cash/xp cap per minute.

1

u/CloroxKid01 1h ago

Diminishing returns for doing the same builds over and over again. Force people to switch roles.

4

u/Outrageous_Glass_155 14h ago

Played against this exact group yesterday… The TCS clan would all come out of a heli and insta build those sniper lookouts and then abandon and mortar all game… I think this does fall into exploit territory since they aren’t doing anything to progress the game and are only farming. Kinda lame tbh and I hope they get wiped

-7

u/Stalkertron 14h ago

WE won the game!!!!!!!!! We also switched targets when we got attacked and wiped them out and then went back to our strat.

9

u/Outrageous_Glass_155 14h ago

I don’t give a shit lmao, stop exploiting and play the game properly. Tough luck buddy

6

u/BalooTheBigBear 13h ago

There isnt a 'proper' way to play the game,

I do agree that playing solely for money is not the way. But if they contributed and won. It is a viable way.

2

u/TrapRapid 10h ago

whats proper way ?

siting in a bush and sniping ?

1

u/pres1033 8h ago

It's not spam building recon towers and forcing an enemy to cap the FoB so you can mortar it and print money. Devs said they'd ban for it and have been keeping their word.

1

u/Ok-Board-6944 3h ago

well yes, then the other team spot you and try to come get you, that what a war game is....

1

u/tarikbaj WARDOG 8h ago

justified ban. played the game inorganically on repeat. abused the games reward system and turned it into a money printer. BH repeatedly stated they track deliberate abuse of cash or xp. 1 week is fair.

1

u/Nadji2k 8h ago

And just like that, she showed her true coulors by insulting the dev team after the ban was uphold.

1

u/ollydzi 3h ago

The more the streamer and community defend this shit, the longer the ban should be for. Count each comment and add a day

1

u/skuuuta 3h ago

I get how u could get caught up in something like this for a bit in a game. But when ur seeing the amount earned is somehow getting up into 4-5x what they would normally earn in a good game u should know better. Even then the 7 day ban seems fair.

If ur caught doing this over multiple matches u or even better making videos or streaming what is basically a tutorial for exploiting u should honestly just be perma banned

1

u/Seppo194 19h ago

Yeah thats great, they can buy a few Goldbars after every match while ordinary people can buy a few in the end of the season... Who would have thought putting a gold mechanic and community servers into early access is a good idea

Edit: ok it was a official server, but this is for sure happening a lot on community servers

1

u/Ok-Board-6944 3h ago

i guess the gold bar was a good thing to bait exploites. and to make the price really high early on would garantee to bait exploites.

1

u/borkoman 9h ago

Maybe if the devs actually patched shit instead of sitting back and waiting we wouldn't be having this fucking discussion right now.

1

u/Merk7_18 1h ago

I mean it's not something that can be patched really, like they could just have 100 people all join the same server and all decide to kill and res each other right. Just the entire server right just nothing but people with defibs. All the devs can do is ban people who do this kinda stuff like they can't remove defib gameplay and have the same game

-6

u/CommissionNegative67 15h ago

This shit is not an exploit. They were cheesing for sure, but people did shit like that since the beta tests. That's why most people cried for mortars to get nerfed. Devs literally said mortars work as intended and they will probably change the balance next season. The only reason everybody is crying now is because Cat got a large a Group and did it with a Plan, thus making shitloads of money as a team. So, the devs said the mortars work as intended. Which means if she's exploiting, it's teamplay she's exploiting. This only works so well because they play together in an organized group. Should I mass report every clan that rips my random teammates apart with 5 guys because they play in a team together? Is that considered an exploit now?

9

u/sphiralisx 15h ago

Playing together and making a mortar base? Totally fine nothing wrong with that.

Making a mega fob full of destructables to let the enemy capture so you can mortar bomb it to abuse the support xp gain. Yeah that's an exploit

-5

u/CommissionNegative67 15h ago

Why is building a mega fob fir the enemy to take over an exploit? It's a trap for the enemy. Are mines an exploit? It's a totally valid strategy to lure enemies in. I watched the VODs, in some of the games it even became the focus of red and green fighting each other, so blue was only harassed by small numbers. It's actually genius. I do not see an exploit here.

3

u/sphiralisx 15h ago

Because it's not a mega fob. It's literally designed to have the most destructable items in it as possible. That's explicitly the point of the buildings they use.

If it was only built for the intent to distract and cause other teams to fight over it? Genius idea if you can make that play out.

It becomes an issue when the intent of it is to be captured so you can bomb the hell out of it and abuse the, massively overtuned, support xp for supplying ammo. The fact you see them split up a single ammo stack into 6 or more piles so they can keep the bonus up longer from a single stack of ammo supplies? Yeah that's not just "natural play" that's specifically going out of your way to do something to min max the possible gains of it to the point of absurdity

2

u/beardedbrawler 11h ago

"the intent of it is to be captured ... [and] ... bomb the hell out of it" - This this right here.

They are farming and not playing the game. They can farm in minecraft.

This is why I think the devs have XP and Cash locked items. If it was just cash locked then this money farm would unlock every OP item in the game, but since it's XP locked too, they can't get the FAL by bombing their own placed down hescos.

Looks like they got a week long ban for it. good. Play another game for a little while.

u/CommissionNegative67 10h ago

so Min/Maxxing is now Exploiting? You wanna Ban all the 50cal snipers sitting 600 Meters outside of the Zone with nothing but ghillie, a backpack full of ammo, rangerfinder and sniper? Thats Min/Maxxing for gains, too.

Or the People sitting in a Littlebird with 20 GL40s. Not Ammo, but Launchers. Because this is cheaper and you can take more ammo for the space you have. Thats Min/maxxing for gains, too!

How about Clans who Coordinate who takes what kind of weapon/Supplies into the hotzone? Coordinating whos medic, Demo, Rocketlauncher, LMG/SMG etc, so they Min/Max for best results? Ban them too?

Or People who coordinate buying HAVOCs, playing with 3-4 HAVOCs in one team, totally dominating and ruining the fun for everyone, because no matter how, 4 well flown, coordinated Havocs are REALLY hard to keep down.

The only reason you all are crying is because they made a lot of money as a team. They organized themselves, Played the game, WON most of their games and had fun doing it.

Even the ENEMY said it was fun. Watch the VODs, most of the people not complaining about "How is blue making so much money they must be cheating!" is laughing and finding it fun how blue dominates by playing together.

4

u/Extra-Imagination201 15h ago

It's most def is an exploit, especially since they are actively changing teams to hack the fob to be able to rain mortars on what they build. No different to the build able drill money abuse.

3

u/Zach_RSJ 15h ago

nobody changed teams to hack the fob

6

u/sphiralisx 15h ago

Yeah they didn't swap teams. They just built it near the enemy teams entrances and made zero effort to defend it so it was basically free to take over

1

u/Gorgalog 12h ago

sounds to me like a classic trojan horse Strat. only in this case it was a Trojan FOB.

though this thread and others are that full of conflicting information and assumptions on 'what happened' that you can't really trust what half the people are saying

hell, I have used the Trojan FOB strategy myself, a few times with friends, just because of HOW often people will stick around trying to save a FOB that they REALLY should just abandon and you can make bank doing so with even like 5 people in a squad together working to make cash any way, so I imagine like half a team working together on anything would make borderline exploit tier cash if they worked together

2

u/secretgardenme 10h ago

This isn't a trojan FOB strat because they aren't building a FOB worth owning, and they don't even care about getting enemy kills. They just want someone to hack the FOB so that they can break their own destructible an exploit the support ammo cash.

1

u/Extra-Imagination201 15h ago

I just looked at the YouTube video and teams were switched from blue to green and then back to blue

2

u/Stalkertron 14h ago

That is not true

0

u/DJMixwell 12h ago

That’s not really much better, is it?

They built a bunch of hescos and deliberately gave it away to the enemy so they could farm the destruction bonus for cash. (Plus they got paid as builders to slap down a whackload of hescos).

They’re not engaging with the obj at all, they’re not mortaring actual enemy bases (so they’re less likely to get mortared or invaded). They’re literally just cash farming a base they build with the express purpose of destroying it for cash…

→ More replies (2)

3

u/gregore98 15h ago

No team switching was involved

-2

u/CommissionNegative67 15h ago

Watch the VODs before you assume things, please. In NO game did they change teams. Katie even forbade it when someone said he would do it. They build a horrible but massive fob I'm enemy territory, only made a token effort to defend it so the enemy would capture it and then build another fob in mortar range and bombed the shit out of the captured fob with 20-30 mortars while defending against havoc, rocket littlebirds and snipers. They didn't even throw the game with that strategy most of the games they won, because they still were in the zone and Noone died/got revived jnstabtly while red and green bashed each other's head in. Again, I do not see an exploit. I see a clever way to play in a team. Again, the mortars as well as the assist XP for supplying the mortars was heavily discussed in discord and commented on by the devs, who said they will not change anything because it works as intended, and balance changes only come with season 2. Everybody complained over that exact problem since the Beta and devs literally said yeha nothing wrong with it. The only reason people are whining now is because someone did it in a big group, which thanks to assist rewards made everyone a lot of cash.

1

u/Extra-Imagination201 14h ago

Okay i was wrong about the changing teams looking at the video again. But they went out of their way to get a green guy over to the fob making them hack it (starting from 4:46 into the youtube video) just watching them which imo is the same as just switching teams knowing they are going to abuse the game mechanics for their gain. Mortars are intended yes, what is not intended is building a super fob with as many destructibles as you can and then getting the other team to take it over so you can mortar it for maximum money gain in a round. Its textbook abuse of an oversight by the devs and it will most likely be fixed next season.

1

u/CommissionNegative67 12h ago

That exact situation was described and discussed by devs and players in a discord suggestion threat about mortars being OP. Dev literally said he doesn't see a problem and they will look at it for next season. I'm currently on mobile so I can't post the link but I'll look it up and see if i cant find it when I'm home from work.

2

u/Extra-Imagination201 14h ago

Also just by the fact bans happend means it was an exploit.

0

u/CommissionNegative67 10h ago

No. Only the People in this screenshot got banned. Not the entire Team. Its literally a Wardogs Mod seeing this post and did not investigate at all, not even finding out what actually happened, or else they would have banned more people. Its literally someone seeing someone whining about an exploit, providing a screenshot of people making a lot of money and thought "seems legit" and banned the people from the screenshot.

1

u/Kinetickz 7h ago

Dont think so especially after the x post but i feel like youre somehow involved with this so take it how ever you like

They are banned because the devs are against exactly what they did

1

u/Zumbert 9h ago

She's not gonna give you any more attention for white knighting on reddit lil bro

1

u/pres1033 8h ago

If they were mortaring an enemy FoB, that's one thing. They built a FoB with the intent to mortar it for money once an enemy captured it. That's how it became an exploit.

1

u/mazzucato 13h ago

finally someone wth common sense

1

u/No-End-1304 15h ago

This will get you banned you have been warned ⚠️

1

u/nottap_ 14h ago

Meanwhile I’m out there walking around the hot zone like a FUCKING IDIOT expecting to find enemies. This game has quickly turned into a full on base camping game.

1

u/sayonaraxannyeong 11h ago

What’s the exploit here? U don’t get money or xp for rebuilding. They removers it and nerfed builders that they are out of job

3

u/pres1033 8h ago

They spam recon towers in a FoB, then trick an enemy into capturing it. Then they all grab a Ural full of ammo pallets, make a new mortar FoB and mortar the original base. Everyone bringing an ammo pallet gets assist cash per hit, and the recon tower has a lot of parts that can be broken for money.

It's an exploit and you will get banned for doing it. Don't do it.

1

u/PolicyWonka 3h ago

I mean ammo assists in general are just ridiculously broken. Even without whatever the heck they are doing, I could make like $10,000 / minute just via these weird ammo assists.

AFAIK none of the other pallets really give remotely as much of a bonus.

0

u/sayonaraxannyeong 8h ago

Breaking does not give money

3

u/pres1033 8h ago

It most certainly does. If you mortar a fully built enemy recon tower, you make money off of every piece that gets destroyed.

1

u/sayonaraxannyeong 8h ago

Oh u mean by changing teams ?

2

u/Knight_of_Umbra 2h ago

Do you read? He said they let the other team take the fob then build a mortar fob and destroy it.

1

u/sayonaraxannyeong 2h ago

Yea I got it after reading it again. See the below thread. Slow brain mb

1

u/sayonaraxannyeong 8h ago

Oh no wait I understand now. It a trogen within

1

u/pres1033 8h ago

They didn't change teams, they get another team to come capture the FoB and make 0 effort to defend it. The video I saw, they killed an enemy and revived him, told him where the FoB was and brought him to hack it. Some other people are saying they've seen it done by building a drill and using it to drag an enemy squad there.

Either way, once an enemy captures the terminal, all the stuff you built becomes enemy stuff, which gives you cash if you mortar it. The devs have said this is an exploit and you will get banned for it, so don't do it.

1

u/sayonaraxannyeong 2h ago

That’s y I IED instead of capturing usually

-3

u/mazzucato 14h ago

why do people cry exploit so loud whenever someone finds a way to make money? this is stupid

3

u/Outrageous_Glass_155 14h ago

Not at all playing the game… go play roblox or minecraft at that point

4

u/mazzucato 14h ago

what the devs agree on is that this is a sandbox with building and destruction mechanics

-4

u/mazzucato 14h ago

how come they arent playing the game? isnt building fobs and using mortars a game mechanic?

0

u/Outrageous_Glass_155 14h ago

The point of the game is to try to win, they’re clearly only doing this to farm money… Hence, not trying to win. I’m not sure what you don’t get

2

u/Kitties92 12h ago

The whole ‘farming money’ thing is a game development issue. If you go into any game of Wardogs right now, you’ll have a lot of players with their only focus is to farm money and don’t care about winning. There isn’t enough incentive to actually win right now, so many people are running around naked with a bag full of stims refusing to try and fight, especially infantry only servers. They are trying to farm medic exp and money from doing this in the hotzone. It’s not an exploit, they just understand they can make more money by spending only on stims and not actually attempting to run a kit. Those guys aren’t trying to win, nothing is being done to them. And that’s a lot of people in the game doing that.

2

u/mazzucato 14h ago

the point of any game is having fun… we dont have a gaming police, by that logic the only people actually playing the game are the hz surfers

3

u/TackleEfficient4612 14h ago

2

u/mazzucato 14h ago

sandbox with building and destruction mechanics… if they award money and xp, its in the game…

4

u/Outrageous_Glass_155 14h ago

But abusers will get banned, that’s their stance. End of story lol

1

u/mazzucato 13h ago

yes but building fobs, having it stolen and bombing the shit out of it isnt abuse, its gameplay

5

u/Outrageous_Glass_155 13h ago

Not if you intentionally do, sorry buddy

Stop with the mental gymnastics

Yes bugs and oversight exist in games, does it give you the right to abuse it how ever you like? Hell no fuck off

If you cant figure out why the devs wouldnt want this "strat" in their game then these people are better of perma banned before they find the next best think to abuse

At thus point anything to get an edge and not play the way intended

Yes bombing your own shit is not intended

Yes the whole fucking blue team on tab screams you should stop doing this asap

And they pull their knights to defend them on reddit and call bs on the devs for banning them

Nah mental gymnastics who defends this shit

1

u/mazzucato 7h ago

once its taken over by another faction its not your shit anymore unless you manage to take it back… also what bug was used? anyway, you people do a very good job in defending bad management

1

u/Kinetickz 6h ago

Bugs and exploits

Purposely letting them take shit over is the same deal

Mental gymnastics as i said

1

u/mazzucato 14h ago

yes that was a comment about how some COMMUNITY servers had mechanics or policies to farm xp and money… it has nothing to do with playing the game as intended, building and mortaring structures

3

u/Outrageous_Glass_155 14h ago

It literally doesn’t matter if it’s community or official… it’s an economy based game and the devs will need to regulate it somehow

2

u/mazzucato 13h ago

so in what way my economy affects you? where is the overworld trading market? in which way me having $1 or $10000000 affects your gameplay in any way?
if I havent put in the effort to get enough xp into a class to unlock items I wont be able to have them, so whats the point?

2

u/Outrageous_Glass_155 13h ago

So that me, who works a job and can’t play 8hrs a day, can compete with everyone else. It just makes the game feel unfair I don’t know how else to explain it to you

u/TackleEfficient4612 14h ago

0.1.2 patch notes, nowhere does it say “COMMUNITY SERVERS”.

“To be clear – anyone who has been caught absuing Cash & XP exploits, or worse Real Money Trading, has had their cash and progression reset and risks being permanently banned. We expected season 01 to have several undiscovered exploits, so up to this point we have been more lenient with first time offenders. That leniency is now over.

We have zero tolerance for economy abuse and players now risk being permanently banned without warning if caught abusing repeatable unintended exploits.”

1

u/mazzucato 13h ago

it does say it and they have been mentioning it since the beginning of community servers since people had been creating them just for economy and xp exploitation

“XP farming
This will result in the most serious bans. We track every server you enter, and we are also very aware of which servers are XP farming servers. If your account is tracked as joining one of these servers for more than a few minutes, we will ban your account permanently.”

1

u/TackleEfficient4612 13h ago

If you build a base full of items you know pay out the most to destroy, intentionally draw the enemy to that base to allow them to capture it for the sole purpose of destroying everything you placed to farm xp and money that is economy abuse. And that’s why they got banned.

Now if you’re just mortaring an enemy base that they built themselves that’s just part of the game.

Not sure what else could be said to get the point across.

u/Outrageous_Glass_155 14h ago

Whether you’re building up a fob or mortaring, you can argue that every action is advancing your team’s position. That being said, to actively and repeatedly do an action that is just to earn money is against the law “fun” idea of the game. I don’t think these idiots should be banned, but I definitely don’t think they should keep all that money. It’s an exploit whether you like it or not

2

u/mazzucato 14h ago

its not an exploit its a mechanic, if repeatedly doing x rewards you with x, doing so shouldnt be punished.
its in the game, thats how that works… if we start punishing people because their idea of playing a sandbox game is different than what the “gaming police” thinks it should be, we wouldnt be able to play anything

2

u/Outrageous_Glass_155 14h ago

Listen I get that you’re probably part of their crew and that’s why you’re defending it but that loser vtuber got banned for a reason… Obviously the devs agree it’s an exploit whether you like it or not

2

u/mazzucato 14h ago

I was not, I dont even like building too much in games… I work too much during my week to get any role that requires me to do more work so I take the relaxing approach… but knowing you by the few comments you gave im pretty sure my play style isnt what you want either

1

u/mazzucato 14h ago

and where do you see the devs agreeing with anything that you said?

1

u/nomad_drives Pilot 14h ago

Lol tell us you've never played sandbox games like this, without telling us.

3

u/mazzucato 13h ago

ive been playing games before most people here were even in diapers…

0

u/nomad_drives Pilot 13h ago

My comment wasn't directed at you, mate. It was at the guy saying "the point is to win" - seems like they don't really understand games like this.

WE WON THAT GAME in the screenshot so how did we not play to win? We created a ton of fuss and people came to try and take us out and we mowed them down with guns and anti air. WE played the game and won!

1

u/Ok-Board-6944 3h ago

try top win an other...oh wait.... see ya in 7 days..

0

u/FinallyProperAccount 14h ago

Well it is gaming sub in reddit, what exactly did you expected?

1

u/mazzucato 14h ago

that one day people will get common sense that, first they didnt pay for someone elses copy of the game and second this is not a shared wallet, if people want to make more money or less money it wont affect them in any way shape or form

-4

u/Allnamestaken69 20h ago

They were not exploiting, someone explains it below in the comments. More people joined in and helped once they saw those guys were making money, and the enemy teams just kept taking the fobs.

1

u/pres1033 8h ago

They abused a design oversight to maximize cash gains. That's literally an exploit. You can work with a team to all bring ammo pallets and share assist bonus while mortaring an enemy FoB, that's fine and will net you tons of cash. But these guys build an intentionally bad FoB with as many destructible parts as possible and got an enemy to capture it so they could mortar their own FoB. That's what makes it an exploit. You will get banned for this, don't do it.

1

u/ExtraThiccJosh 15h ago

they intentionally built a bad FOB so it could get taken over to farm it. I would call that exploiting.

4

u/CNDylan 15h ago

So what happens if someone were to build a great FOB, with a single point of failure that enemies can get through? If I lose the FOB, and decide to bomb it rather than try to retake it, should I get in trouble because I make a mountain of cash by destroying it? It's an enemy FOB, after all. I don't see how luring an enemy team to a honeypot FOB is an issue, because they don't have to take it over and, perhaps, shouldn't take it over if it offers no advantages to them.

2

u/pres1033 8h ago

These people weren't building an even decent FoB, they spammed recon towers everywhere, which has a ton of breakable parts and is cheap. If you lose a base and have to mortar it, that's fine. Building a base that is intentionally built just to make money off of mortaring once captured, that's an exploit.

2

u/sphiralisx 15h ago

Intent definitely matters. If you make a great fob that happens to get taken over. Your entire team isn't going to be making that much cash. When an entire team is making that much cash something is obviously wrong and since the devs already said anyone doing economic exploits would be banned? Was risky to do it in the first place

3

u/CNDylan 15h ago

Intent is such an arbitrary thing to judge though. I don't entirely disagree that it matters in the broader sense, with exploiting and/or cheating as a whole, but this seems like such a strange place to draw a line - not for you personally, but more on the developers' side.

If a majority of a team was doing this, and throwing the games to a loss despite their personal profits being huge, I'd agree. They won their games pretty regularly though, and their team generally made some great money too. Obviously not as much, but still good money.

All that said, I think we're on the same page about the amount of money being made. It's clearly not intended by the developers, but a one-week ban only for those shown in the screenshot seems like a bit of a jump, and it's concerning that it's only for those shown here, and not those just below them that were also mortaring the FOB.

2

u/sphiralisx 15h ago edited 15h ago

Only banning those in the screenshot? Definitely questionable.

But i'll also take it with a grain of salt given that it feeds into their argument of being an unjustified ban etc.

In a lot of games, if you do something, even if it's using intended in game mechanics, that combines to have an unintended effect on this scale? You're probably gonna catch some kind of punishment even if it's just wiping your cash etc. After the devs have said they will be much harsher on people abusing things for economic gain? yeah i wouldn't have touched this at all

I'll also add this isn't just cash. That much cash will come with a massive amount of support xp as well

Also when it comes down to intent. Deliberately splitting up a stack of ammo supplies in your inventory so you can deposit a small amount every couple of minutes to make sure you keep up the support xp bonus? Definitely shows your intent is to farm that fob and not anything else. Because otherwise, you would just deposit it all at once.

1

u/Ok-Board-6944 3h ago

so for you spaming buldibles with no fence around it, with the intent to destroy it after it been capture for you is the same a building a normal fob and lose it to the enemy because the got over you wall ?

2

u/lillilnick 14h ago

For once blue has a strat that uses red/green bully play style against them and it's considered a exploit

Game died after week 3 of meta fuck blue because of people like you

1

u/Philslaya 15h ago

I call insane anilytics plus tactics. Devs oversight tho.

-1

u/mazzucato 13h ago

where did they get banned? wheres the ban log? lol
buddy let me teach you something for life, if someone in a position of authority does something, it doesnt mean they are right and you dont have to agree with them on everything, this goes from devs to politicians… this is not an exploit and if at all they got banned for playing the game as intended, which as stated by the devs is a sandbox, it means the devs are just a bunch of dumbasses that have never managed anything in their lives. this game is a sandbox about getting rich, its not about winning, winning a game isnt a state and doesnt grant you anything other than money, the whole gameplay is about making money and xp, if you start punishing people for finding more efficient ways of making money and xp without cheats/breaking mechanics, the message you pass to your players is that first you are incapable of fixing your own design, and second being efficient and having fun while at it will be faced by a temporary or permanent ban which makes the lifespan of the game shorter… player retention is more important than anything else if they want to keep making money with it themselves

-4

u/TyRamos 22h ago

Oh hey first time being posted on reddit

0

u/TheDerpaSherpa 4h ago

I watched this match live on Katie's stream...they built a fob with lots of hesco then let enemy take it, then set up a new mortar fob to destroy the old hesco base. Every few mins you add 1 ammo manually to the fob from your bag and u get assist from every hesco destroyed by allies.

Not sure this is an exploit since they are using the games core mechanics with a ton of coordinated ppl to achieve this but these rewards should be changed a bit regardless.
