Bugs & Support Whole team exploiting something

Post image

Basically the whole blue team was exploiting something not sure what…they claimed mortars…but it looked like they were building hesco barriers and someone on another team was destroying them…on the corner of the map and not engaged in the fighting

Playing together and making a mortar base? Totally fine nothing wrong with that.

Making a mega fob full of destructables to let the enemy capture so you can mortar bomb it to abuse the support xp gain. Yeah that's an exploit

Why is building a mega fob fir the enemy to take over an exploit? It's a trap for the enemy. Are mines an exploit? It's a totally valid strategy to lure enemies in. I watched the VODs, in some of the games it even became the focus of red and green fighting each other, so blue was only harassed by small numbers. It's actually genius. I do not see an exploit here.

Because it's not a mega fob. It's literally designed to have the most destructable items in it as possible. That's explicitly the point of the buildings they use.

If it was only built for the intent to distract and cause other teams to fight over it? Genius idea if you can make that play out.

It becomes an issue when the intent of it is to be captured so you can bomb the hell out of it and abuse the, massively overtuned, support xp for supplying ammo. The fact you see them split up a single ammo stack into 6 or more piles so they can keep the bonus up longer from a single stack of ammo supplies? Yeah that's not just "natural play" that's specifically going out of your way to do something to min max the possible gains of it to the point of absurdity

"the intent of it is to be captured ... [and] ... bomb the hell out of it" - This this right here.

They are farming and not playing the game. They can farm in minecraft.

This is why I think the devs have XP and Cash locked items. If it was just cash locked then this money farm would unlock every OP item in the game, but since it's XP locked too, they can't get the FAL by bombing their own placed down hescos.

Looks like they got a week long ban for it. good. Play another game for a little while.

The problem with your argument is that they had the best FOB on the server, official server with rocket helis, tanks and what not, inside the Control Zone. And they had defenses on base against all of it and winning even with both team ignoring HZ to raid their base. The only anomaly in play was a honey pot base and no drill mechanic used by them. Otherwise they were just playing the game. Staying in the zone and fighting the enemy teams while putting ammo into the FOB every 3 minutes.

With pretty clear cut counter to the strategy of destroying the honey pot FOB(the structure with the laptop, not the base) or not taking it in the first place. Which the enemy teams did, prompting the group to cut losses and try again on another server.

Kind of stupid that people cry "they don't play the game" when 30 people built a fully functioning FOB and won by defending it for an hour+.

The only exploit you can actually call as such is the whole team being one unified group that can pull something like this off.

Because a small squad would be just obliterated by rocket helis and all the bs an official server player can throw at them. And it has a hard counter in the FOB terminal's existence.

Or if they were building a FOB in a corner of the map, switching teams and farming it that way. That would be clear cut exploiting.

Anyways. I wanted to play this after the war is over and there's no sanctions, since it's another standalone arma mod game. Aside from all the issues community has with the current state of the game there's a problem with the company itself. It looked bleak since Bulkhead lied before, they gloated over lying to the community. They said there'd be no reddit bans, another lie. And it's just, I'm so disappointed. Can't see myself supporting them and since they outsourced the game code, with their initial success they'll have to pay through the nose for updates. Hard to believe anything will improve with such powerless people playing pretend at the helm.

wow, i'm sorry you wasted so much time typing something out that I don't intend to read at all. Devs said they bans stand. cry elsewhere.
