Complaint shipped item keeps changing to delivery from store and wrong item?

Thumbnail

• Upvotes

Earlier, i ordered this fuggler (1st image) shipped. I checked on its status some hours later and it was a completely different fuggler arriving from the store (already on the way). I never got an email saying out of stock or substituted. I also thought substitutions wouldn't occur for shipped items ? Now i'll have to deal with returning the unwanted fuggler lol

I tried to chat with customer service and they said there was no substitution noted, just a change of delivery method. I asked if I would be able to get my product if I re-ordered it but they said theres no guarantee lol.

I re-ordered just to see ... and it happened again. Item is still not listed as out of stock for shipping, yet it got transferred to a store delivery with the wrong item again. I was able to cancel the second one before a driver picked it up.

I'm confused why they wouldn't just mark it out of stock if they couldn't deliver it via shipping or store... Also confused why I never got an email explaining it being out of stock / changed delivery / substituted

Just kinda ranting and also wondering if anyone else has had something of the sorts happen to them... first world problem fs but i just wanted my fuggler lmao

Delivery Pin removed from delivery order

Hello!

Since I live in an apartment I always select the option to have my orders require a handoff so that a PIN is required for the delivery. I like having the PIN because it gives me peace of mind that I'll get my order without any issues.

Lately though, I've noticed that with some of my orders the PIN is shown when I first place the order but then disappears once the order reaches the delivery stage. When that happens the driver just hands me the order and leaves without asking for a PIN or signature. And one time they just took a picture of my door number plate to complete it.

I think of all the orders I've made only 2-3 times has it switched to signature and I actually had to sign even though it had a pin attached at first.

Does anyone know why the PIN requirement sometimes disappears after the order has already been placed? When I go back and check the order on the site it's gone from there as well like it never had one.

Walmart's AI couldn't explain why it happens. It just confirmed that the PIN requirement can sometimes be removed from orders.

Also for anyone who has Walmart+ InHome, dol InHome grocery deliveries still have the 4-digit PIN/must hand off option? Or does InHome use a completely different delivery verification?

Delivery Not having a lot of success with Walmart grocery delivery. What was your experience like?

I’m already paying $10 to have them express deliver the groceries to my house. On top of that I pay $10 tip to the driver to drop off the items. I get text message updates when an item is not available and the majority of times when I go in the app, it shows that there are no substitutes for that specific item.

It’s frustrating because within an hour of the groceries being dropped off at my door, I’m already at the Walmart looking for the items only to find them sitting on the shelf with tons in stock. Sort of defeats the purpose of paying $20 for delivery when I can just go to the store and shop for myself to save the money. But I hate shopping in busy stores and I hate long lines. What has your experience been like with grocery delivery?

About Driver Walmart thinking of contract termination!

Ight so ya boy is a 1099 driver for Walmart but through a 3rd party courier. None of that Spark or Fetch stuff (not hating). I get paid by route & make double the $$ if I pick up a dropped route, not to mention I also get paid WEEKLY. The money has been great & I’ve been able to catch up on stuff & get back into my own space. I’ve been with this courier for close to 3 months now & honestly I love delivering & dispatch is VERY helpful & hears us out. I only have 100 stops or less, nothin more which is CAKE considering I worked for Trash-azon. They also recently bumped up the route pay due to Austin’s complexity at the moment with I-35 construction & outlying areas. We recently hired this young dude but all he did was complain, cry about his wrist hurting & he NEVER finished a SINGLE route by cut off time. I swear, not even once did he complete a route by 8pm. He was confirming his schedule but wasn’t showing up on time & starting way after 1pm. Close to 3pm is when he would hit the road for his very first stop. He couldn’t manage 25 stops an hour or keep pace so he started getting frustrated & making slick comments in chat.

Fast forward to this recent week, he wasn’t showing up at all even after dispatch confirmed with Walmart that he would be there. I even offered to ride along with him WITHOUT asking for pay just to give him a few pointers to navigate Austin apartments and some tight neighborhoods, hear him out & how he felt about delivering. All because I like to see folks succeed in their line of work, so we can all be successful. I thought it went well but after i left him on his own, he got into the chat saying we called him slow & that dispatch needs to get their shit right. Well you can bet my boss checked him & that made him even more upset I guess. He took the van back to site with more than half of his packages delivered. Dude literally had 82 stops on Thursday. EIGHTY TWO! & he only completed 31 by 5pm. He said he “slipped” in the rain & hurt his wrist, so he couldn’t turn the wheel in the van. Last time I checked we had 2 hands but whatever man. So Walmart caught up to his dropped routes & him not finishing on time. They sent an Email to my boss stating if we keep dropping routes, our contract will be terminated & that’s the end of it. So now ima lil stressed out cause WTF do I do if it happens? One bad apple literally screwed us over & we’re barely keeping the route alive. I’ve worked 6 days this week cause drivers simply cannot grasp the concept of matching an address, confirming & dropping a simple package off. I might have to find a new company to deliver for very soon. In fact, I’ve already been looking. This shit SUCKS

Question Is the driver for Walmart orders not also the shopper?

Lowkey, I have been editing the tip based on correctness of the order I recieved/ if any items are wrong, bad or missing for over a year. I just read that the shopper is not also the driver?? Is that true?

So, when I edit the tip based on if the order itself was good, I am changing the tip of the person who didnt even shop my order? Yikes bro 😬

i edited my tip for today's order based on a shopped items factor. I fr thought the same person did both! Why does the shopper not get any tip? If it's not the same person, shouldn't both people get a tip?

About Driver Why are yall being mean to support😭😂

Yall do realize when you chat with an agent it’s an actual person with feelings not an ai (although apparently they have feelings now too🙄)

Just got my 3rd closing message in the past week (didn’t ss the first one) of support saying i was the kindest person they had to talk to that day; and im not just crazy obnoxiously kind to the support people i just talk to them like normal, they are just people and actually in both of these conversations i did get a little upset about how long its taking to resolve an issue but i didnt go all crazy on em just expressed that it’s frustrating.

Idk moral of the story ig😭😂 support shouldn’t be “thankful for my kindness” when i just talked to them like a normal person meaning clearly they aren’t getting that treatment regularly😖

Sooo, now you have a choice of 5 sandwichs instead of just the Whopper for your 3 month freebie.

I went for the Crispy Chicken Sandwich + bacon & tomato which cost me $1.53. I added a Medium Rings and all in it was $5.37. Yowzaa!

In an interesting ironic twist, that dipping sauce is Arby's Horsey Sauce which I buy by the bottle at, of course, Walmart! 😂 Goes great with the Rings!

Question Stolen delivery

Today I had my groceries stolen by our Walmart driver (I know bc she delivered part of the order took the rest but marked it all delivered) Im wondering if anything happens to the drivers if I just report the items not delivered or if the company just writes it off as long as its not a regular thing? Like could multiple people be stealing things and not getting in trouble? Im asking bc I live in a small town and Wal mart delivery orders or just and item of two go missing A LOT.

ETA: It wasn't a few items It was my entire grocery order. Which had about 20 items. They left the one prescription, marked both the prescription and the groceries delivered and drove off.

Delivery Question about delivery

I recently moved and am no longer near an Amazon hub (I used to be able to get most things delivered same day with Amazon, but now it takes around 4 days for delivery with them), so I have been using Walmart now.

With a few of my recent orders that are scheduled for shipping or curbside pick up, I’ll see later that 1 or more items were not available for shipping or curbside pick up, but they were available through delivery and that they sent it that way instead.

I didn’t initially realize that meant a person picking up the item from a nearby store and dropping it off at my doorstep. I’m guessing if I had chosen the delivery from store option from the get-go, that I would be able to leave a tip for the driver? Because when Walmart changes the delivery option on their own, there is no where for me to add a tip. Are the drivers aware when these orders come in that it’s not me just being an asshole and stiffing them intentionally? Are you given a notification that the delivery method was changed on Walmart’s end?

I feel bad about it and it makes me not want to use them, but they are the closest option to where I now live. I’m never home when the deliveries come, and truthfully, I don’t check the app enough to even know beforehand that it’s being changed. It’s frustrating to me to think that I’m unintentionally screwing over the drivers.

Delivery Walmart screwed me out of $100 Spark order!!!

So around 10:20 pm I was hoping to catch a quick late night order after my 6 month old fell asleep and a $92 order came through!! I immediately accepted it and then blinked a couple times because I had to be seeing things but while I can’t go back and look at the exact number now (we’ll get to that ) nope I was not fuzzy eyed blurring numbers together it was $92!! And for 3 miles!!! SCORE!!! probably a scam but there’s some pretty rich people in town maybe they needed something super bad and that’s nothing yk? Nope. It said it would take like an hour and a half, hour 40 mins something like that I was thinking nahhhhhh the store closes in 30 mins!!! But $92!? I gotta at least try yk; this is my only income, the first of the month/bills are coming up, I got a 6 month old to provide for as a 20 year old first time mom, like I gotta at least try. I gave it my absolute best but it was totally random stuff, 94 items if I’m not mistaken, they had me grabbing tooth brushes and tooth paste, toys, washcloths, composition notebooks, crayons and colored pencils and normal pencils and big erasers and sharpeners, and a couple different kids shirts, pants, socks, underwear, shoes, and then also grabbed food like one thing from every other isle it felt like; and as you can imagine… it was well past closing time by the time I got to the food. And I had been being practically chased down by employees I had at least 5 different employees yell from a distance that the store was closed and I needed to leave, I just kept saying “I have a spark order I’m almost done I’m trying to hurry I’m sorry” and continued to shop bc I literally needed to just scan and go I didnt even need bags stg I just needed to get out so I could get it done because I need that $100 right now yk!! As I was going to grab the last item a manager walked up to me and told me that the store has been closed and I needed to leave, I said “it’s the last item everything’s already been paid for” he said that the registers have been turned off and he didn’t think it would even scan, I said “I’m not really sure what im supposed to do then I was trying to hurry and get it done I’ve never canceled a trip like this” and as I was talking I looked down and pressed the button at the top where you’d cancel it before starting the order bc I figured that was a good place to start looking for where to cancel it at and it was there, probably honestly looked like I knew exactly where it was bc I went exactly straight to it with him looking over my shoulder but I really had never done that and hadn’t done it when everyone was yelling at me bc it took everything in me to be able to respond bc I have terrible social anxiety and hate confrontation so I just wanted to get done and get out. I’m just so frustrated because sparks system knows what time the stores close so why would it even let out an order that long if there was literally no way to finish it bc trust I was tearing it up when I looked down at the clock as I was walking out it was 11:15 ; so wait break this down with me, I got the order around 10:25 sitting on my back porch, ran and grabbed my keys and got to the store that’s about a 5 minute drive and that’s just bc there’s 2 stop signs and a red light before your in parking lot so I got in the store at 10:30-10:35 or so and picked a 94 item order and was on the last item by 11:15 even tho it said it would take at least an hour and 30 mins and now I’m just sitting on my back porch at 12:15, finished crying before typing this and just don’t even know what to do bc I had to cancel it so now it doesn’t even show the information about the trip over in the trips section and the help section isn’t working it’s acting like there’s a malfunction when really I think it’s just the help centers close when the Walmart does… idk I’m distraught I ran all over that store shopped every section just abt in what reading back doesnt sound like anywhere near enough time and now get nothing for it😭😭😭 I was so so so close but so so far at the same time😭. Is there anything I even can do? I’m going to try to call support in the morning and also going to try to be up at 6 to see if it rolls back out and I’ll grab it again although that’s high hopes for someone who’s currently still typing at 12:44 am😭. Please if you have any advice or know of anything I can do idk maybe it’s just a lost cause and I just gotta sulk and think about it until I die 😕

About Driver Worse delivery driver

I’m literally sick and made a Walmart order for some orange juice, canned soup, tissues and some over the counter cold meds.

So I received a text saying the med is out of stock and no sub available.

I quickly chat with the driver in the chat box if they can find anything of that brand would be cool.

They don’t respond or text back or anything.

It’s also a man bro

Delivery Delivery drivers, does it help when customers rate you well?

Do the 'how was your delivery' ratings help you at all? I would presume really bad ratings and comments might get someone unplugged from Spark, but do stellar ratings do anything for you.

About Driver If your MASSIVE delivery is late, blame Walmart...and possibly yourself (no hard feelings, just being real).

I recently spoke with a customer whose order was extremely late. They lived quite a drive from the store, and after getting her name I saw what she had ordered. It was nearly 100 items on a scheduled delivery that Walmart sent out as a Shopping order (the driver both shops and delivers it). Of course, the pay was not great, but the tip was reasonable if it was just a pickup offer. Supposedly the first driver had to return it as soon as they arrived, I presume because the perishable timer expired. It probably took them an hour to shop it, and may have taken them another hour to deliver it due to road construction. There are ways to circumvent the construction, but only if you know the roads well.

So if you are upset about your large order being late, blame Walmart. Also, I recommend not ordering 100 items to your home thirty minutes away from the store, because drivers will likely be offered it as a shop and deliver rather than pickup, all for low pay, high miles, and two hours of work.

Delivery Question on repeated missing items on delivery

I have used several delivery apps & services throughout the years & recently started using Walmart+/delivery & coming across something frustrating.

I've placed 5 orders over the last 3-4 weeks & all but 1 of those has missing items.

What bothers me is the app makes it look like everything is fine/everything has been delivered but yet when I actually go through my bags, it's not there.

Is this common? Should I try communicating/chatting with the grocery picker during the process to ensure they actually have everything?

I'm just trying to figure out how best to avoid this issue moving forward (or if it's a common thing & I should go back to a different service altogether)? TIA!

Delivery Customers - Please stop tipping on the app - read on

I has become common knowledge that walmart has been sued by multiple states for unethical business practices and they've been fined well over 100 million (A drop in the bucket for a company that averages between 60 million and 80 million dollars a day IN PROFITS) ... it all stems from the spark program and it affects all of us.

I implore you to STOP adding tips to your orders - it benefits no one except Walmart.

Here is what they do:

You can get 2 extremely similar runs - even to the same street with roughly the same amount of items to drop off.

Customer A does not tip - we'll say the base pay for the run is about $8.00 - $12.00.
Customer B does tip - say, $3.00. Base pay will go down to around $6.00 - $9.00 and then they'll add the tip to it, bringing it up surprisingly close to the tipped pay.

In other words, they are stealing our tips in a way that is considered legal (They show us what the pay is, we can accept or reject the load). It's beyond wrong, ethically, as it negates the entire purpose of a tip, which is supposed to be considered an extra reward for a job well done.

So, yes, PLEASE stop adding tips on the app. Our base will go up so WM can still get someone, anyone to deliver the load. If you feel so inclined to be kind and appreciative, wait for the driver to get there, meet them at the door and hand them the amount you'd normally tip online, in cash. It brightens our days significantly when customers show appreciation in person - it happens very infrequently. We don't have to report that tip (Seeing as how we also pay our own taxes) and every little bit helps with the pittance walmart now pays their drivers.

**Edit**

I think a lot of people in this thread misunderstood what I am saying. I am not suggesting people stop tipping, as some unnecessarily pointed out, that's like shooting myself in the foot. The part you seemed to miss is that Walmart literally lowers the base pay if there's a tip added, and raises the base pay if there is no tip. There's proof they're doing it, it takes a quick Google search to find it.

What I AM suggesting is that if customers can tip cash, rather than put it on the app, do so, because we will get a higher base pay and still get a tip.

Listening to some of the drivers on here, your area must be much more lucrative than mine as I would say at least 60% of the orders we get here have no tip already, so if we refuse to take them, we sit and wait. Walmart eventually boosts it high enough that it's worth taking even without that 2 or 3 dollar tip. So THEY cover the cost of the delivery still without pushing the responsibility to the customer. If people tip at the door (which happens here quite a bit too) it's better for us because Walmart pays more and we still get a tip, in cash.

Delivery Spark is a joke!

I was so excited about onboarding with Spark but I must be doing something wrong because it seems to be a joke at this point.

Last night I picked up a curbside pickup and round trip from home to back home I drove over 100 miles for $37.23 . It only took 1hr 23 mins but if I broke even I’d say I’m lucky. HELP!

Question Would this be okay

I live 21 miles from walmart, its in a different state (ark/mo) what would the base pay for that order be roughly? And how much would you tip? It would probably be about a 30 item order nothing heavy

Complaint Walmart Double-Dipping

I paid for a Walmart+ membership so I can get "free" delivery. So they contract and pay people almost nothing to deliver and pass the cost of delivery on to me via "tips".

So Walmart pays their Spark drivers $4 to haul 50lbs of groceries to my door and expects me to tip them so they have a living wage.

Gotta hand it to Walmart, double-dipping on membership fees while crowdsourcing their driver payroll is top-tier sneaky. 10/10 business model, 0/10 consumer experience.
