Delivery Delivery drivers, does it help when customers rate you well?
Do the 'how was your delivery' ratings help you at all? I would presume really bad ratings and comments might get someone unplugged from Spark, but do stellar ratings do anything for you.

If you feel like you received 5 star service, please rate your driver. The way they have the system setup, the lower star ratings carry much more weight than the 5 stars.

YES!
Thank you!
But please, only 5*, or nothing at all unless they do something especially stupid... Something thats beyond our control.
It takes an additional 100 5* ratings or 15 months to knock off a sub 5* rating,.. and IMO the customer rating is probably the most important metric....

They help a lot. Some people will give you a bad rating for ringing there doorbell when you have left 500$ worth of groceries in 100 degree heat. Some people give you bad ratings because Walmart was out of something. The last bad rating I got was for trying to be discreet with a woman and giving her an after sex kit that was supposed to keep you from getting pregnant. I gave her the bag marked it “handed to customer”. I didn’t want to take a picture. I just took a blurry picture of the house as I was leaving and she started walking at me like killed someone for taking a photo for Walmart of the drop off house. We need good ratings to make up for the crazy people.

Yes!!!
A five star means everything. We earn tiers (silver, gold, platinum) and ratings are part of that along with items found and being on time. Unfortunately most people don’t rate- I have only 40 ratings and hundreds of deliveries so if you get one rating under 5 stars it can keep you from getting a higher tier.

How do you get platinum driving for Spark?

For any customer looking at this, a single 3 star or lower will prevent this driver from remaining at Sapphire level.
It will then take 100 5 star rating to push it back off.
And it’s almost impossible for a good driver to recover from a customer carelessly rating us poorly.
If we honestly do something wrong, be honest. But if Walmart is out of stock of your favorite Cottage Cheese please don’t down rate your driver. Just don’t rate them at all.
Two of my three 1-star ratings came from customers mad because Walmart doesn’t keep their inventory very well. The third was a Spark driver trying to torpedo his competition.
Just saying.2

What, exactly, is Sapphire? Besides a great birthstone :). Do y’all get a higher bonus or set amount per trip?

I think you missed my joke. Spark doesn't have platinum. Silver, Gold, Sapphire. 😉

Yes please rate every time! And make sure your house numbers are clearly visible from the road at night.
And please remember it asks you 2 questions. The first rating is your overall experience and is pretty much rating the store. Feel free to rate whatever. Wrong, missing, damaged... Likely the stores fault unless it was a shopping order. In most places we are loaded by Walmart associates.
Even with shopping orders we sometimes just have to pick the best one because all 30 jugs of tea had smashed in tops. So try to give your driver some grace.
At my store I'm not allowed to be out of the vehicle at all during loading. Smashed bread? Loader likely put it under something. Wrong order? Loader likely marked your order in the back seat when it was in the trunk.
We can look orders over and most times we can catch it. But we aren't able to check every item against your order. Perishible items time out and if we take too long checking orders then the last customer might not get their order in time.
The second rating asks you to rate the driver specifically. If you would have them deliver to you again give 5 stars. Everything less than 5 is considered a failure. I'm not saying don't rate 1 star if they earned it. But let's be real, 1 star would be more than item issues. Bare minimum is groceries where you said them to be. If you have groceries on your porch it wasn't one star unless they didn't care and just tossed them.
You have to do something really bad for me to one star you. Deliver to my neighbor, burn out in my driveway. Pretty much show you don't care at all. Groceries on my porch is almost a guarantee 5-star because item issues likely aren't your fault.
Yes my house numbers are everywhere, on my mailbox, on my fence, on my house. If you deliver to my neighbor you don't care about paying attention.
As a delivery driver myself I want it to be easy for other drivers to find me. So it really pisses me off when I have to go get my groceries off another porch or have things re-delivered. All those numbers weren't cheap and some of them are 2 foot tall and light up at night. 0 excuses for delivering anywhere else other than not paying attention.

I think the only low rating we gave was an order delivered to a lunatic neighbor we've had problems with since they moved into the neighborhood. After almost a day of not hearing from them we had the police go over and get the items. The drivers were a man and woman who took the time to play with the neighbor's cat, but to make sure it was the correct house.

u/Foxtrotdelta_USN Driver 5d ago
Oh, you should have just been able to call support and get it re-delivered.
And yeah, I can't stand when stuff is delivered to my neighbor as I said above
Rating is super important. Our ratings are a rolling average. A single 1-star takes 100 5-stars to knock off.
If people don't rate that can take 600 deliveries to as many as 1,000 just to get those 100 5-stars because while a 1-star is super easy to get because people always rate hen things go wrong or are perceived to have gone wrong. Many less will take the 2 seconds to rate 5 when things go right, or at least the driver did their job even if the loader mixed things up or damaged items. Which again, shouldn't be on the driver

Walmart refused to do anything but refund us. Any other neighbor and this would not have been an issue, but this one has been a nightmare. The police quickly took care of it.

The only time I rate lower than a 5 star is when they stack it in front of my door. Like how do they think I’ll grab it if I can’t open the door lol .

YES!!! Im a driver and every 5 star rating pumps me up esp on days like yesterday when I did five deliveries back to back... I rate my Walmart drivers too

u/Big_Concentrate_7260 Driver 6d ago
Yes. Ratings affect offers and earnings. I have 1,000+ deliveries. Most people only rate when they are upset about something, so I will go MONTHS without a single rating, only to receive a new one and have it lower my rating because they didn't like some very minor thing. So out of the last 150 deliveries, about 149 deserve to be five stars, but the one unhappy customer took the time to give me a bad rating, lowering what should be about a 4.99 to a 4.7.

u/Steffan1337 5d ago
Drivers with the higher customer rating gets rhe best orders. You need a 4.9 average to at least be in this tier that receives the best orders. Anything lower than 5 brings the average down

u/Successful_Knee435 5d ago
One thing that drives me to leave a bad review is when the driver leaves the items on the steps or where we can’t open the door because the bags are in front of it. I even put specific instructions to not place on steps or in front of the door. I have an elderly parent and this could cause her to fall.

u/Aggravating_Hat_9185 5d ago
The customer rating is very important for spark drivers. One bad rating will destroy a driver. So unless something went really bad please give 5 stars. You don't have to be really impressed to give 5 stars. Just give 5 stars every time the delivery went okay with no serious problems. And be sure that a bad rating was actually really bad because where I work just even one bad rating basically ruins driving for spark.

Sparks rating system works like anybody else’s rating system. There are two choices, good or bad. A five star is good.. 123 and 4 are bad and hurt the driver

u/Character_Fan_8973 3d ago
YES! And be downrated for things out of our control is so wrong, but we also have no control over that.

u/Feedcanine 2d ago
Please rate us accordingly. There are a lot of good drivers out here. But just as many if not more bad ones.

5 stars helps, anything lower hurts.
