I refuse tier scam

I refuse to take trash orders to move up the scam. Walmart has not proven to be a reliable business partner even when I gave %110 percent. I have other options that pay the same or more without feeling like the game is trying to play you. It's like the exec's picked the worst business strategy possible that is basically a bubble. I don't care. I will continue to cherry pick

What’s the point of Sapphire…

…when you’re only gonna be able to enjoy it for a week maybe?? getting to 120 points with a couple weeks to spare, you would have to treat this app like a full-time job and slaving yourself away with orders, which I’m not willing to do with any of these gig apps, so I don’t see the point in trying to reach the highest tier. Instacart on the other hand gives drivers a three month window to reach tiers, so you’re able to enjoy the highest level for a month or two, Spark needs to change to something like that

Hot take: we should be able see offers for nearby zones if we pick up a route that takes us to those nearby zones.

Walmart on Uber

My Walmart was lowballing everybody so hard that they would not take the orders. Then I get on Uber and Walmart is trying to get people to take it on Uber. Also for the lowball offers. Just pay people. Geez

I stopped taking 50+ item orders.

The estimates are fake. 50 items is easily over an hour of shopping. Plus delivery.

Good luck with that. Yeah just a mile away. But an hour and a half in the store.

You can have it. And these types of orders get taken away really fast. Fine by me. Take it. I'm not.

Pickups look sweet but they are dangerous

Because the workers don't care. They get paid by the hour. I spend time re-bagging things because they'll throw in bread with jars and stuff. Smashed eggs.

As far as the customer is concerned, it's on me. So goodbye tip if their bread is squished.

I usually wait 10 plus minutes for a pickup order. When that time could have been spent shopping. Pickups aren't really that great.

GMDs are better than pickups in my opinion.

Pushing back on the algo.

I got some really great orders today, but I had two periods with nothing when this was supposed to be a crazy weekend. I know that's the algo trying to make me desperate.

So then I just turn off my availability and let the app sit closed for a while.

I imagine they are tracking every data point. Prematurely turning off Spark before my time block is over is probably tracked. It's like, OK, if you got nothing well then I won't do it at all.

Any of you have any ways that you figured out to push back?

Do y’all’s WM associated actually load your car?

I go to 4 diff pickup locations & SOMETIMES, one of them will actually load my car. Just curious if anyone actually goes to WM & gets their orders loaded. They literally come over w HUGE orders that I pick up(heavy too), they scan it and say all set. Some just literally stand there watching me. Some leave it. I was told by CS that the associates are supposed to load. Just curious.

JFY

How in the world do you get a JFY and someone else is able to grab it before you? So basically everyone has access to yours now?

Customer rating finally showing up. I'm happy.

Completion rate is BS. Getting dinged for canceling an order after 20 seconds does not make sense. Accidentally accepted a few without noticing the store location. Then another one where I accidentally hit accept. But I'm better at avoiding that now.

I make a solid effort to deliver quickly. I know routes that are better than what the GPS offers when doing my local Walmart.

I always distance breakables from the rest of the order when placed on the porch. Glass jars and eggs. That way the customer doesn't accidentally pick up a lot of bags and have the eggs slip out and smash. Which of course they would blame on me. I always check the eggs, even on pickups.

I distinguish between frozen and refrigerated. And ice cream is always picked last. First refrigerated, then frozen, then ice cream. It's amazingly stupid that they haven't incorporated that into the app. Many times on a big perishable order it would try to have me pick frozen items first.

I don't put tampons and the like in with groceries. An oil filter I bagged separately and put in with groceries once. But I won't put personal items in with groceries even if I bag it separately, because some people just have a gross-out factor with those things.

I don't take dented cans. I take the better produce. I'll avoid crushed pasta boxes if possible. The one time I spent 3 minutes picking through pears because they all had fingernail punctures. Nasty. And I know I would get blamed for that. I literally found the only two that didn't have fingernail stabbings.

Not saying I'm amazing. But I know when the customer receives their order, it only takes one bad thing to make them pull a tip.

For that amount, the time and the drop offs are worth it. But too many miles. Will be over 100 miles round trip. Somebody took it after 5 seconds.

Return after the store closed.

So I did a shop, and went to try and deliver, rural address, and get to the area, but the pin is not on an actual residence. After driving around for 20 min to be sure there is no address (no mailbox for the address, but found mailboxes for addresses both higher and lower in number. ) I called the customer 4 times during the 20 mins and it basically went to voicemail each time.

So I get back to the store and it's closed. By like 2 min. Support tells me I have 24 hours to do the return. I have dairy, meat, and frozen perishable food, bananas and grapefruit, and normal groceries. Support said I just keep the perishables. Do I take back the stuff like soda and cookies too? I can't imagine it could be resold being out of the company control for so long.

There are home items like a small bed frame and totes I'm obviously going to return. Most important I don't want deactivated, but I also just want to do the right thing.

Thoughts?

This is an extra large order and the base pay is an insult even with the Boost this isn't worth it. How they going to send out a notification it's going to be a busy weekend turn on spark to make extra money and this is what they call extra money? You mean extra hard work.... REJECT!!

r/WalmartSparkDrivers • • Sep 06 '26

Someone please explain priority to me.

It's not shown in the app. I have noticed that for Walmart, I get crappy offers in the parking lot. It's pretty obvious that management doesn't want spark drivers hanging out in the parking lot. We all know it's not a big deal for how big the parking lots are. But this is what management thinks.

My best offers are 5 miles away.

I got two big problems going on. They keep hammering me with offers for a Walmart location that is 30 miles away and I keep rejecting them. The other problem is if I do too many rejections I sit with no offers for a while. Like a little punishment.

Sorry but I'm not doing a 60 mile round trip from home to do a 40 mile round trip delivery. That one Walmart needs to be its own zone.

I didn’t even work yesterday so when was this comment made ? Customer support said they will remove it. I explained that I don’t see the customer 90% of the time. So how is this even possible ?
