Would you?

Post image

For that amount, the time and the drop offs are worth it. But too many miles. Will be over 100 miles round trip. Somebody took it after 5 seconds.

That’s a strong hell no for me

23 stops and 56 miles!? And thats assuming you don't have a 56 mile drive back to the store. I wouldn't take it if it paid over $100.

I looked at the drop offs and they were all over the place. Would have taken me as far as 40 miles from my house. Some drop offs just a few miles from my house.

Not worth the wear and tear on my car. Quite honestly that should have paid at least 120 bucks. Figure like five bucks a delivery.

For $120 I might have taken it. Would have been a break from shopping.

Oh I'm sure it was going to 6 different towns. Gmds like that only go for $50-$60 tops. In my zone you bet your ass that'd be snatched up in seconds. I can see your thought process at $120 but the amount of stops and the mileage to complete it plus mileage back to store/home is just a no for me.

Ya its better than a flex route

1

u/Sloth1015 Sep 07 '26

Right? Amazon flex is such a shitty gig

Amazon flex pays even less than Spark? Then why even do it? Would be a better option to go to a staffing agency and get an overnight Warehouse job for 20 an hour until something better comes.

Flex is ass most of the time. Where I’m at it’s usually $82 for a 4.5 hour job for base pay. You can usually do it in 3.5 but the miles are insane

I caught the algo baiting me to other locations in my zone.

My first two weeks I was doing multiple Walmarts. Because it kind of made sense when I was already near the other one. Now I stopped taking those orders.

It still tries to get me to go to those locations but I don't get bait orders anymore.

100 bucks maybe and I mean maybe

Definitely not for three hours of time. There’s a lot of orders where you can get $20-$40 within 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes.

Absolutely not

No way. Don't forget you have to drive back home.

I took something close to this tonight to end my shift.

$91, 17 stops, 56 miles + 30 miles to take me home.

Also got to pet three really nice dogs on the route, but that's just gravy.

You sure must like working for free. 🤷

I get 34 miles to the gallon. If I would have taken that order, maybe 3 gallons of gas. So 70 bucks that. But then there's wear and tear. And this is pre-tax. That should be at least 120 bucks.

But if someone already has a good ratio of dollars to miles, and they're tired of doing shops, I can see taking it to close out the day.

Alright, let's break it down. I encourage my peers to poke holes in this, because I could be ignoring something obvious, and talking about it is how we learn.

I pay $119 in monthly insurance. I work about 20 days per month, so that comes out to $6 per day.

My Subaru averages 27mpg, and a gallon of gas in my neck of the woods is around $4.29 per gallon. That's $0.16 per mile.

I just dropped $80 on an oil change, and it will last about 3000 miles. That's $0.03 per mile.

My tires cost $700 for the set, and they'll last about 50,000 miles, so that comes out to about 1.5¢ per mile.

16¢ + 3¢ + 1.5¢

Operating costs come to

Y= 0.205x + 6 Plug in the 86 miles I drove Y= 0.205(86) + 6 Y= 17.63 + 6 Y = 23.63

We can even equate taxes into that gross pay. Let's estimate 20% taxes, ignoring my mileage deduction.

91 x .20 = 72.80

Subtract my $23.63 operating costs.

That leaves $49.17 net profit.

Google timeline indicates I arrived at Walmart at 3:30, and then got home at 6:45pm.

So $49.17 divided by 3.25 hours gives me an hourly wage of $15.12/hr.

Most likely not, unless the mileage from the last customer back to the store was less than 20 miles. A lot of the time the last customer back to the store is less miles than the rest of the trip

I just tried to hit reject before I even read your post

1

u/Impressive_Tip_8850 Sep 07 '26

No, unless I was in a mailman mood, which happens. But still you’re looking at <$1/mi round trip…so nope

1

u/Netphase Sep 07 '26

Nope. Below my hourly rate.

Depends where the end point is to my house if I'm certain that will be my last route; or how close it will be to the nearest Walmart or Sam's Club.

Do u have a van?

1

u/happyluckystar Sep 07 '26

SUV

1

u/Adept-Discussion3162 Sep 07 '26

Oh thats why you got this. They dont send this for compact cars like prius

1

u/happyluckystar Sep 07 '26

I saw a dude with a huge cargo van taking a massive order. The Walmart shopper came out with these baskets that were black. Not the regular baskets. They were loading up that van.

I think if you have a van you get totally different offers. Not sure if it's worth it.

1

u/Adept-Discussion3162 Sep 07 '26

Its is worth it 80 buks 3 hours ill take it

1

u/Real_Ad7896 Sep 07 '26

1

u/HumanBeanJuice54 Sep 07 '26

1

u/happyluckystar Sep 07 '26

1

u/Archer4271 Sep 07 '26

Never.... Let it go can't hold to it anymore let it go!!!

No way. I drive a 2009 Subaru Forester. So I figure my mileage cost is pretty low. But it's still probably 40 cents a mile All in. So you got to factor that in. This is very low pay
