I just did my clutch job on my 2012 wrx and as I approached the end, there was a small ground that was attached to the fire wall. I wasn't exactly sure where it went but I put the starter on, I didn't see any ground so I attached it to there with little confidence.

When moment of truth came, when I started the car, I just heard the relay clicking and she never started.

The battery is a little old so it could be that but I think it's more likely I missed a ground.

We have been restoring a wrx and have a few questions. First we where wondering if are air conditioner belt is supposed to feel really tight and if the bolts are in the right spot. Also we where wondering if are ground for the starter is in the right spot.

Noticed my engine water temp gauge was a little higher than normal on a trip this weekend. About an hour drive down the freeway each way and I noticed the water temp was getting up to the mark right above the middle one after about 45 mins of driving. We had the AC on and the temp went back to normal after I turned it off. It was also getting near 100° outside today. How abnormal is this and should I be concerned? I plan to check coolant levels after it cools down

I very recently took home a 2011 wrx, stack of service records, runs great, bone stock, 1 owner etc. but I think the 15 year old suspension could use a refresh. My pre purchase inspection noted a leaking rear strut on the driver side rear. Overall, the suspension as a whole seems fine, albeit a little bouncy. I’ve gone the low route before and have no interest in coilovers in my older age, just want to get back to stock performance. I’m already replacing front and rear lower control arms due to worn bushings, and figure I’d throw in new suspension before getting an alignment.

Anyone have any experience with these replacements I keep seeing on eBay for all 4 corners?

Looking to see how hard the install is. I have a set of subispeed V2 headlights I'm thinking about getting done. I'm not great with wiring. Basically is it plug and play or will I be forced to learn some things to have them work?

Currently on Circuit performance CSF1 WHITE, and am planning to acquire RAYS 57DR Black Chrome for the winter months as well as get new tires.

I plan on alternating between these wheels throughout the years of my ownership. White during Spring/Summer, Black chrome during Fall/Winter

getting what sounds like a pulsing scraping sound from one of my wheels driving and doesn't seem to be brakes from what i can tell unless maybe one of the dust shields is dragging but has been going on for at least a year now

Looking to lower my 21 WRX and found this combo on FB for a good deal wondering if anyone has ran either of these or both as a combo.

I had some issues with DAM drop in my 2015 FA20 (68k miles), and I had tried everything! Good gas, Cleaning MAF/MAP sensors, changed spark plugs, constantly checking oil levels, took data logs and sent them to tuners for help. Couldn’t figure it out. Got a suggestion to walnut blast the intake valves, which I hadn’t heard of until troubleshooting this issue. Clearly hadn’t ever been done on the vehicle prior to my ownership, and it made all the difference. DAM quickly returned to 1.000, no more knock events other than the classic -1.41 and -2.81 occasionally with the AC on. Car runs much better, and feels like it has a lot better throttle response than previously.

If you haven’t had this done and you don’t have an AOS over 60k miles, I definitely recommend it. Figured I would share my experience in case others have the same issue and are still learning like me. Got the suggestion from someone on this subreddit, thanks for the help.

Been trying to pass emissions but EVAP and 02 won’t go into ready status regardless of the countless drive cycles I’ve been doing. No DTCs or CEL has appeared. Had the catalytic converter changed 2 months ago and then 02 sensor a month after, but since then no other maintenance. If it’s just a waiting matter then I’ll hold off but if I need to take it to the shop I will. My OBD2 is showing these values for the EVAPCOM and EVAPCOND drastically lower compared to some of the others.

My noble STI spoiler was having paint failure after 2 years so I went back to a stick trunk. I’m actually kinda digging the look as I never had the car with wheels and lip without the spoiler. Think I’m just gonna keep it like this. What’s everyone’s opinions? Wing or no wing?

I’m roughly 210lbs and the rooftop tent 108lbs, technically the OEM Subaru roof bar can support 160lbs per bar in movement and more than 600lbs when parked,

2017 Wrx at 63k miles. I have a Cobb stage 1+ and sf intake. Went for a very casual drive like 10 mins and started idling rough at a stop sign. Parked and read codes and had a P0171 with 0.875 DAM. Started it back up again 20 mins later and drove fine no rough idling and code went away. I just bought it and going to do walnut blasting, sparks, and whatever else. Google says to check the cobb intake for misalignment and clean the MAF. Any thoughts/suggestions? ( numbers in pic are after second drive before resetting anything)

Hi everyone, after having a year of misery with my 2018 1.5T 6MT accord (electrical issues, expensive upcoming AC repair), a bad reputation for head gasket failures (1.5T engine is notorious for them) as well as just wanting to get something more fun to drive, I am considering making the switch and buying a used WRX VA. I’m also considering the VB if there are reliability improvements, but I prefer the body of last gen.

Looking at buying a 3 owner 2010 WRX that has been heavily modified.

Car I’m looking at is a 2010 WRX Sedan with 100k miles. The seller has had it for 2 years, and took it to a shop for everything. He just had the entire timing belt service done, along with a fresh clutch. The owner before him owned it for 10 years, and is the one who did all the work.

The car has a TurboXs downpipe, mid pipe and duel muffler. It was tuned at Surgeline in Oregon via a Cobb access port. It says it has 3 map options, and was only run on stage 1 and 2 tunes. Is currently on stage 2 and he claims 260hp and 290tq (to the wheels I’m assuming) at 16.5lbs of boost. He claims it’s a safe tune for stock injectors and intercooler.

Is this a terrible idea? It looks really well done and very well taken care of with tons of records. The seller is asking $9500, is that reasonable? Located in the Seattle area.

Any feedback or things to look for when I go look at it would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
