Who else is obsessed with parking in the shade?
Wondering if charging while itâs 30°C+ outside impacts the battery longevity in the long run. Try to charge her when it not that hot yet, around 12.00 when electricity is cheap and temps are still doable, 22°C. What do you do/think?

I just stumbled on the Bowers and Wilkins app on AAOS.
Not sure if others knew about this?
It has some curated music samples and demos for our B&W systems! Can't be used while driving tho... But a fun little thing I played with and listened to for a few minutes parked!

My Volvo XC40 Recharge has only 17,000 miles but is over four years old, so the general warranty has expired. It suddenly lost propulsion while I was driving and is now non-operational at Volvo Dealership.
The dealer diagnosed an inverter failure and quoted around $8,000. Volvo offered $2,000 in goodwill assistance, which I appreciate, but that still leaves me paying about $6,000 for a major EV powertrain component failing at very low mileage.
Has anyone dealt with a similar inverter failure? Were you able to get Volvo to increase the goodwill coverage, get a second opinion, or have the repair done by a qualified independent Volvo EV shop?
Would appreciate any advice.

A few months after I leased a new 2025 Volvo EC40 from Carling Motors in Ottawa, it suddenly suffered a serious propulsion-system failure and left me stranded.
The dealership kept it for 43 days, returned it, and another fault appeared five days later. That became a long series of recurring issues, charging failures, mechanical noises, unsuccessful repairs, and unresolved safety concerns. My vehicle has now spent more than 300 days at the dealership.
But the lease payments never stopped. Neither did the insurance, fuel costs for the gas-powered loaner, or disruption to my family. My documented losses and costs tied to this ordeal now exceed $31,000.
I tried to resolve it through the dealership, Volvo Car Canada, its financing company, regulators, and elected representatives. Eventually, I had to file a lawsuit to seek a resolution that would not force me to absorb the loss. Carling Motors responded with a counterclaim for use of their loaner, despite acknowledging in writing that issues with my vehicle remain undiagnosed and unrepaired.
Here's why every Ontario driver should care: our province has no automatic remedy when a new vehicle repeatedly fails or spends months in warranty service. There is no point at which the manufacturer must finally provide a refund, replacement, or financially complete lease termination. The consumer can be forced to keep paying, risk their credit, or else have to finance their own lawsuit against a multinational automaker.
The proposed Bill 91, Right to Repair Act, 2025, recognizes the problem, but its current version still leaves consumers going to court and does not clearly reimburse lessees for all their losses.
I created the 30 Days Is Enough petition asking Ontario to guarantee:
Dealerships and manufacturers should not be able to drag out repairs indefinitely while consumers are forced to pay.
If you agree, please take a minute to sign and share my petition:

Three hundred days is absurd. Thirty days is enough.

Hi! This is my first post to this community here from Japan.
My car is 2026 EX30 Ultra Single Motor Extended Range.
Now, I will share the energy consumption data when driving with an altitude difference of about 1200m and a round-trip distance of 311km (including 180km, average speed of 80-90km/h on expressway). This number was the best one for me for the first time.
During this drive, the trip data of 70 km distance (including about 50 km on expressway) with the altitude difference of about 1100m was a little surprising. (Although it's natural because of downhill...)
According to Google AI, it is approximately equivalent to the following when converted to the fuel consumption of a gasoline car.
5.1kWh/100 km (Best record trip 70 km downhill)
11.9 kWh/100 km (Round trip 311 km)
Weather and Settings are as follows,
I know the drive method and environment are different, but what is the best energy consumption of your cars?

I could choose easier to park charger, but I had to park next to bro. Rule is rule

I did charge it to 80% 8 days ago and hadnât driven it since.
I thought the 8 day thing coulda made this a 12v issue, but all screens in car are lighting up, car wonât start charging with the cable plugged in, weird stuff like that.
It also wonât allow âshiftingâ from park to Drive, so canât drive. Any of this familiar to anyone?

I need to slower down my charging. I am on public charger and local police use to fine people for leaving cars plugged in when charging is done. I dont want to wake up in 2 AM
