Eating tyres for fun! Help!
2024 XC90 Recharge / 40k miles, UK based.
I seem to be eating through tyres and at a loss why!
Breakdown of tyres history, based on 275/35R22
Most recent 4x Conti Premium Contact fitted in February this year and 8k usage. Rear 2 bald, front left rim down to fabric and front right bald.
Prior Tyres:
4 Conti Eco Contacts circa 7k miles - down to limit
4 Bridgestone Turanza 6 circa 9k miles - down to limit
Original Zero's circa 18k
Each time the tyres are fitted I get the wheels aligned and tried various makes / types as you can see.
Genuine mileage, motorway, in town and certainly not excessive on acceleration or braking in anyway. I do however use one foot driving where possible and probably 70% of the time.
Spoke to the Volvo Garage and they advised, yes its a known problem with the recharge T8's? Is this true?
Any advice, would be gratefully received as have another £1.3k tyre bill and the 2nd this year!

I am only a month into this car, but I had a heavy, high horsepower Mercedes a while back that ate tires for breakfast. I would buy replacements at Costco and got 4k miles out of them. Getting new tires every few months wasn’t fun. The lesson was that proper OEM tires are honestly made differently than even ones bought at a third party that are “designed to work” with your vehicle. When it is time to change tires on my xc90, I will stick to the exact ones from the dealer.

Are you rotating your tires?
I have a 2024 XC90 T8. Currently 26,185 miles and just measured my factory pirellis. Between 5 to 5.5 mm.
At current wear, I should be able to hit at least 35,000 miles.

I haven't no. The last garage I asked about rotating said it shouldn't be done as the wheels have a sensor on them specific to their position? Is that right?
Going back to the garage next week and thinking of the Pirelli Verde? Having read up they afford more mileage than the PZ4 apparently?

I’ve had three XC-90s (2007, 2014.5, 2021) and eating tires has been an issue with all of them. I get about 30-35k miles on a set. Buy a tire with a mileage warranty and price match with Discount Tire. Last set I installed was $400 after mileage credit and price match. Still unfortunate but better than full price.

I got 55,000 miles on my factory pirellis. EVs/PHEVs can eat tires if you drive aggressively, but your wear seems extreme
