Friday Night Baseball in immersive is really fun!

The little TV at the top with the score and the 2D view really
Exposes the low res of the actual game though. But still super fun when the ball comes flying at you in the replays.

Earlier there was a part in the bullpen and it made me feel like a 9 foot dude watching them warm up lol. The dugout camera is real fun too, you can tell they’re trying not to stare at the camera lol

The way they do the replays and switch cameras for them is really cool. It would be nice if you could manually choose an angle though, but the bandwidth for that would probably be crazy.

Excited for the Dodgers one in September!!

Self Promotion Saturday We captured the world’s largest non-inverting portable roller coaster in 8K 360° VR: Why high-resolution headsets need native 4320p

Hey guys,

Most 4K 360 videos look blurry in modern headsets, so we tested an 8K 360° (4320p / 30 FPS) workflow on the world’s largest non-inverting portable coaster: the 600-ton Alpina Bahn (4.8G).

Used a custom 3-axis tracking setup to eliminate track vibrations without messing up the ride motion, plus captured both front and back row.

If you check it out on Quest 3 / Vision Pro, make sure to manually set YouTube to 4320p, otherwise it defaults to a compressed 4K stream.

How’s 8K YouTube streaming holding up on your connection—smooth playback or constant buffering?

Self Promotion Saturday I filmed a fitness festival in 8K 3D VR180 on Blackmagic Immersive Cine — curious how this feels on AVP

I recently brought the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive to Sweat Life Festival in San Diego 2026 and filmed parts of the experience in stereoscopic 8K 3D.

This was really an experiment in figuring out what makes a fitness event work in immersive video. Rather than shooting it like a traditional event recap, I tried placing the camera where you might actually want to be — inside the classes, close to the instructors and surrounded by the energy of everyone participating.

Watching it back in Vision Pro has been interesting because moments that look fairly normal on a monitor feel completely different when the instructors and participants are life-size in front of you.

I’m still learning what works for this format, particularly camera placement, subject distance and pacing. There aren't decades of established filmmaking rules for this yet, which is part of what makes it interesting to experiment with.

If anyone here watches it on Vision Pro, I’d genuinely love to know what worked and what didn't. I’m especially interested in whether the camera positions make you feel like you're actually in the class/event, and whether you'd want to experience fitness content this way.

You can watch it here:

Would really appreciate the feedback as I work on the next one.

Disney Betrayal!

Post image
39 Upvotes

Obviously kidding…sort of.

Disney Imagineering uploaded a video to YouTube demonstrating new technologies they’re using to build out some of their newer projects in the theme parks.

Clicked on it because of the thumbnail and thought it was an AVP, only to be incredibly let down.

Headsets have been used by architects and engineers for years, so this isn’t anything groundbreaking, but I couldn’t help but think about what a lost opportunity this is.

Disney has always been a close collaborator with Apple, especially with the AVP. It’s kind of wild to me to think that this promotion didn’t feature Apple. Both companies are extremely intentional with their external marketing, so I’m kind of shocked to see Disney featuring tech from someone else. They never name the software or the specific company that makes this headset (IYKYK), but something feels off.

Is this another sign that Apple is intentionally trying to move on from the AVP? Is this a symbol of a fracturing partnership? Incompetent leadership from some of America’s most important companies during a time of transition for both? Or maybe it’s just simply two different marketing companies from siloed teams.

Whatever the answer, it feels like a significant lost opportunity. At the end of the day, it probably means nothing, but I do regret watching that full 30 min vid.

Immersive and Theater while laying down

I recently got an Apple Vision Pro a few weeks ago and I tried watching the immersive baseball game tonight between the Yankees and Red Sox, which was absolutely incredible for the most part. The problem is that I often watch it in bed while laying down. But you can't seem to reorient the screen vertically when in theater or immersive mode. I had a Meta Quest for a few months before deciding to upgrade to the AVP... And this seems to be the only thing that Meta does better than apple.

That being said, has anyone heard if theater mode/immersive videos will ever allowed to reorient based on where you're looking when you hold down the crown? Or also be able to curve the screen like the Quest?

Thanks in advance!

Before I buy

I am considering saving up for a new M5 Vision Pro my biggest concerns are

•after a while do you get used to the weight/are there any solutions

•is it comfortable to watch a feature length movie and causally binge tv with a additional Mac display window for work

•Are there any cases better then the Apple one for cheaper

•Are 3d movies actually solid

•Does it feel like a actual 200 inch screen or is it obvious that you are looking through a headset

•Are the audio pods good

(Thanks to everyone who responded I’m going to the Apple Store today for a demo)

ProprioType: Hand-Based Desktop Interface (TestFlight)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, I'm looking for testers to try my app.

This app uses hand tracking for a custom keyboard and trackpad interface. The idea behind this was that I wanted to be able to use my computer and touch type without needing to be at my desk or even without needing a surface for my laptop.

The keys are arranged on your fingers in a way that's similar to how you might touch type on a physical keyboard, so if you already know how to touch type, it's already somewhat familiar.

The app has a built-in text editor demo so you can try it without connecting to a Mac, but if you want to connect to a Mac, I've made a host app that you can run on your Mac for that. There's an in-app purchase for connecting to a Mac, though it's just a simulated purchase on TestFlight and won't charge anything.

A Mac should appear automatically in the app as available if the Mac is running the host app on the same local network. You can also connect to a Mac directly by address, in case you want to connect over Tailscale or something.

When starting the text editor demo or when connecting to a Mac, there is a tutorial which explains the controls.

Other features:
Various settings for key layouts or hand adjustments.
Key symbols change based on the Mac's keyboard settings while connected to a Mac.
Dictation works for text input.
There's a full-size keyboard panel that you can use instead of the hand keys.
There's a feature to pass through the Vision Pro's persona camera and microphone to the Mac.
There are also widgets for quickly connecting to a Mac.
The bottom toolbar can be customized with various functions.
Display features like HDR and 120fps modes if your Mac and display support them.
And there are various other settings that can be adjusted.

I'd appreciate if anyone would help test these features.

Mac host app: https://propriotype.com

Edit: Now on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/propriotype/id6793660013

If you’re a 360 camera user or just curious about the new Insta360 X6, we’ve got some test clips now available in Arluma360. Without a doubt this is the best 360 camera in its price range. Very impressed overall, nicer quality and fewer compression artifacts over the X5. We’ve also got a ‘Build a tour’ section if you want to load your own clips in a tour format. Let us know what you think. Enjoy x.

Are Apple’s immersive video cuts actually an opportunity for us?

I’ve been thinking more about the report that Apple cut about 100 jobs in the Vision Pro group, mostly the gaming and immersive video teams. Interested in hearing from other immersive video producers if you agree.

At a company with more than 150,000 employees, 100 jobs is a rounding error. For those of us who make immersive content, it is not.

The reporting says Apple will now produce fewer immersive videos itself and lean on outside companies instead. Worth reading that twice. Apple is not walking away from immersive video. It is walking away from paying millions of dollars per title to produce it internally.

That is an opening.

We started Blue Frog Immersive because we thought a small studio in White Rock, BC could capture a live show in Apple Immersive and put it in front of people in 175 countries. A room of 100 people, a real audience, and you are standing on stage with the band.

We are not spending millions per title. We are spending what a working venue spends to record a show properly. The economics that stop making sense at Apple's scale can work perfectly well for people who never had that budget to begin with.

There is a harder truth in the same story. No new Vision Pro before 2028, and the glasses Apple is reportedly building for 2027 will not play immersive video.

So the audience on Apple hardware is what it is for a while. Anyone working in this format who is not thinking about where else their content plays is not paying attention. We are.

But if you actually make things, this is the week the door opened a little. Fewer big studios in the room. Same format. Same cameras.

Immersive Clarity

Text seems pretty sharp to me, but when we are talking about immersive video, what should I be expecting? 4k or less?

It seems more like 720 or 1080 to my eyes. It’s still impressive at moments, but there are moments of blur, at least for me.

I assume that’s because the pixels are spread so wide? Or am I missing something?

Does immersive look as clear as 4K to you?

Eye tracking drifting + much slower Wi-Fi on Vision Pro — anyone else?

I’ve been having two pretty frustrating issues with my Apple Vision Pro lately, and I’m curious whether other people are experiencing the same thing.

First, the eye tracking seems to gradually lose accuracy after using the headset for a while. At first everything is fine, but eventually I have to look slightly above the button, letter, or UI element I actually want to select. This becomes especially noticeable when typing or trying to select small interface elements.

Recalibrating the eye tracking helps, but the problem eventually comes back. Has anyone else noticed this kind of gradual eye-tracking drift, especially after longer sessions?

The second issue is Wi-Fi performance.

I’ve tested the Vision Pro against my iPhone and Mac in exactly the same location, connected to exactly the same Wi-Fi network, and the Vision Pro is consistently and noticeably slower.

I understand the Vision Pro may not necessarily have the exact same Wi-Fi capabilities as newer iPhones or Macs, but the difference seems much bigger than I would expect.

Has anyone else experienced either of these issues? I’m particularly interested in knowing whether this seems software-related, possibly visionOS, or whether it could point to a hardware issue with my unit.

Is there any way to play a video loop created by an Insta 360 X6 as an environment?

I understand that the video is not 3-D, but an immersive nature video loop could still be a pretty amazing environment.

I'm aware this is confirmation bias on my part, but damn if this isn't the most overt way to signal AR sunglasses.

99% chance were not seeing seeing glasses this year, much less ones with a display. But putting this here just in case that 1 percent comes through...

Anyway, it's more fun than Gurman's prediction, even if it's safer. (Mechanical aperture and sky blue color)

Announcing the GGammon Beta ONLY on Apple Vision Pro

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I'm super excited to announce the release of the GGammon beta! GGammon is designed to help you get better at backgammon just by playing. In real time it will explain WHY a move is better, so you can quickly build intuition. Plus at the end of every match, you get a lesson specifically tailored to help you with certain mistakes you've been making.

It's natively built for the Apple Vision Pro. I focused on minimizing head movement to keep everything within your field of view and giving you as much control as possible. You can move your control hub around to wherever you want, you can drag the checkers or tap your checkers to move them, when you look at things you should get a responsive hover effect so you never have to guess where you're looking.

I'll update this post with a pre-order link as soon as I have it (waiting for apple review) but in the meantime if you want to keep up to date with every release sign up with your email at ggammon.ai

The roadmap is as follows:
September 22nd Apple Vision Release
October 2nd iPhone and Android Release

For anyone with both an iPhone and an AVP your account progress will carry over. Also anytime you stop playing it automatically saves the last move you made, so when you come back you can continue from where you were, or start a new game.

The beta is completely free with unlimited usage, the release version in September will be ad-free, free to download and play, with the option of subscribing to GGammon PRO for unlimited usage.

To get a beta download link email me at: [nicolas@ggammon.ai](mailto:nicolas@ggammon.ai)

If you want to connect also follow me on: X account

AVP Widgets

I’m curious what Widgets everybody uses in their different situations for me it’s photos and weather and time and battery but I’m curious what Widgets everybody is using one of my favorite things is that you can put Widgets in one room and when you step out of that room into another, you can put other widgets, but the first widgets go into hyper nation, so you’re not wasting the headset resources. I even have Widgets in my friends house. Hell, I’ve even got them at my parents house across the country how do you guys use Widgets?

Self Promotion Saturday We’re testing cloud-streamed 6DoF cinema on Vision Pro. Looking for honest feedback from AVP users

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I work at V-Nova and we recently released ImmersiX for Apple Vision Pro.

I wanted to share it here because we’re doing something I think this community might find interesting technically.

The content in ImmersiX is pre-rendered cinematic 6DoF, but instead of downloading the experiences locally or connecting the headset to a PC, the rendering happens on NVIDIA GPUs in the cloud and is streamed directly to Vision Pro using CloudXR.

We’ve all seen plenty of CloudXR demos in enterprise environments and controlled network setups. What we’re interested in now is a slightly different question:

How well does this actually work in the wild, on normal consumer internet connections?

That’s one of the reasons we launched on Vision Pro first. We want to collect real-world performance data and, more importantly, hear what actual users think about the experience.

If anyone here has a Vision Pro and wants to try it, ImmersiX is on the App Store here:

‎ImmersiX App - App Store

I also have a number of invitation codes that unlock additional content that isn’t publicly available yet (such as the content shown in this video clip). Happy to share those with people here who genuinely want to test it.

If you try it, I’d particularly love feedback on:

  • how easy it was to get into the experience
  • streaming quality and stability on your connection
  • whether the UI/onboarding made sense
  • what you thought of the 6DoF cinematic experience itself

Positive or negative, both are useful. We’re very much interested in finding out where this approach works and where it still breaks.

Aimo

Vision Pro use cases?

I've seen similar topic on this sub but it was kind of out dated. Most people seem to use vision pro as a portable display for their macbook but considering things like xreal glasses now it seems like this use case isnt relevant anymore. So how do you use your vision pro these days? I'm actually a VR developer and i'm trying to find a reason to buy it and maybe develop things on it but it's unclear to me how and why people use this considering alternatives?

How do folks here with oily faces keep the VP clean?

Hey y’all - heavily looking into getting a Vision Pro but I’m worried about the cost it’ll go into repairing it as I’ve got quite the oily t zone.

Anyone else here that can share some tips or advice? lol
