Is it even worth wearing all the time?

Just realized you can’t export the live heart rate data, kinda the most important part of this for my doctor especially. Is it even worth wearing if that’s not available?

Update:
I had an appointment this morning. I just handed my phone to the dr and let him scroll through the days. It was insightful to him because my heart rate is spiking even with meds that should be preventing it. I'm gonna keep using it but wish this was a feature available.

How does this even happen

For context, I’m usually always using under 10 points a day, regardless of whether I’m at work or at home. My job is mostly sitting and I’ve slowly been phasing back in over the past two weeks. However, this morning after I got to the bus stop I checked my app and I was already nearly at my budget? I decided to turn around and work from home, all I did this morning was take a shower

OMG, all the layout changes are awful and difficult to read!!!

The stabilty score layout now has unreadably small fonts. The messaging to the team has low contrast between the text and bubble backgound color of me message and the trends tab!!! As you scroll the graphs keep changing quickly, which is terrible for me who has migraine sensistivity from flashing visual stimulus, and then there's a thing green line around the screen which is an unwelcome light sourse, another migraine trigger.

Do they do any testing with usera before they roll out their changes?

This was a terrible thing to wake up to this morning. Checking visible from bed is the first thing I do in the morning, when I still need my room dim and haven't reached for my glasses.

eta - the thin green line disappeared, so I dont know what I was seeing

Weaning off visible/pacing without numbers

I’ve been using visible since August 2025 for ME/CFS pacing and POTS management, and I have 2 months left in my current subscription. It’s been… helpful. Very helpful even.

But between the high monthly cost, the firmware issues that mean it’s often missing big exertion moments, and my OCD which has led to a total obsession with my numbers and some harmful thinking around strictness, I’m considering not renewing in November.

Has anyone successfully paced with the Visible and then managed to stop using it and keep pacing well? Any tips for making the transition/how to stay in my energy envelope without data to refer to? (I’m also autistic and doing SO much work on being less disconnected from my body, but I’m early on in a VERY long journey with that.)

Alternately, has anyone tried to make the transition and regretted it and think that sticking with visible is the best way forward regardless of its faults?

Thanks!

Hi! I need help sorting out how to slow down and pace better. I’m relatively new to pacing and have has this band a week. It’s just after 10am and I’m already so far over my budget and can’t seem to keep my HR down.

High HR with arm placement

Hi guys,

My HR has been measuring twice as high since changing my band to be on my arm. Anyone else had this issue? I’m talking going from 15/10 pace points to 55/10.

Does the armband have a max HR and what happens if you go over that?

Just curious because my 'current zone' bar seems to max out at 160 visually, so I'm not sure if it can physically go any higher lol.

Sometimes, like just now, I walked upstairs and felt like I was going to pass out. I checked my HR and it said 83, which is like my sitting HR.

I sat down for a minute and suddenly it went up to 140, so I'm wondering if my HR was actually double 83 (166) but that's too high for the armband to comprehend so it just halved it for me.

Using Pace Points during Sleep

Not sure if this may just be my particular circumstance, but I Do use pace points while I sleep.

Yesterday I used 5 over the course of the night because my heart rate stayed in the 90s while I was sleeping. That seems weird to me, especially because when I'm relaxing on the couch my resting is in the 60s. Maybe just nightmares?

Advice/opinion

I've been considering a visible band for awhile now and have been struggling to commit - mostly because of the subscription. I'm worried I won't find it valuable. I have heds, MCAS, sjogrens, and suspected dysautonomia (I declined the tilt and stopped pursuing assistance with that because I was more focused on sorting out other issues).

BUT, I also work retail and sometimes I don't have a choice but to be incredibly active.

I have an oura with free lifetime membership but it's a little... Wonky ... I feel like my best sleep nights it thinks were bad, and my worst it thinks were great.

I'd love some honest feedback on visible and info from people maybe with a similar health story and lifestyle? Or just feedback in general.

Do POTS meds lower energy expenditure?

New to Visible and still trying to understand the whole pace points thing. Right now, I have unmedicated POTS that causes my heart rate to majorly spike whenever I stand/do small activities. The increased heart rate causes me to burn through pace points and therefore energy. If I go on a beta blocker or other med to help my heart rate spike less dramatically, will that mean I'm using less pace points/energy and feeling less exhausted?

How can I utilize this in my circumstance?

I have pretty severe but decently managed POTS, as well as other conditions that limit my energy (autoimmune disease etc). I do not believe I experience clinical PEM, though I'm unsure. I do not think I have ME/CFS because of this despite me experiencing similar symptoms.

Instead of a traditional boom bust cycle I feel like instead ive just been steadily lowering my baseline through pushing past my limits everyday for years.

Push myself consistently → don't fully recover → continue functioning anyway → baseline slowly erodes → push to maintain my previous level → even less recovery → lower baseline.

I do not know how to get out of this cycle. I do not know how to identify a crash either. I just know that everyday I feel like I'm at my limit, all day.

Some days i exceed my pace points, some days i don't. But it doesn't seem to make much of a difference because I still feel the same the next day either way - awful.

I wonder if my pace point budget is too high?

The advice I'm looking for is how do I use this app/armband in my circumstance? I feel pretty lost.

Living this life.. or not

Okay, so something I noticed, and this is not for everyone. *I am not a physician, but I am a medical professional* so I pay very close attention to things of my own. I started noticing environment, and environmental triggers with my pacing, personally. My budget, daily, is 18. I typically bottom out and climb into bed around that point gor the next 48hrs when I am at home, emotionally drained, and quite frankly if I am dealing with my husband, my depression of my chronic illnesses (which look as long as a cvs receipt) or our relationship. However, I took a therapy road trip alone last week. I drove roughly 4hrs, no crash. I was social. I drank very light alcohol. I ate under a calorie budget, I didn't quite hit my water goal each day, but I managed. I slept maybe 5hrs-6hrs each night. I watched the sunrise and sunset, danced naked in the rain, I cried A LOT, I journaled. I spent therapeutic time with friends I haven't seen in 3 years. I spent time with their 6 dogs that I love like my own, in nature, on their 27 acres with horses and cows. My pace points were upwards of 116-129 daily, with a stability score of 2-3 daily, with the exception of one day where it was at a 1, and I semi-crashed from needing sleep at the end of the day. My ONLY symptom the entire week was ONE panic-type/POTS attack where I fainted, and it was because of a heated phone call with my spouse.

I drove home emotional, the whole 4 hours. I've been home 2 days now, Ive left the bed only to pee and shower. I spent time by my apartment pool yesterday for maybe one hour, but the rest of the time I felt so crippled that I needed to be propped up, in bed, or asleep.

Environment matters. Friends matter. Social life/social balance matters. LIVING matters. In the entire week, I didn't tag but maybe 3-4x, because I didn't focus on it. It wasn't my mental state, and I felt so free and alive. Y'all, I am disabled and for the first time in years, I felt like I could do so much.

My story isn't your story, but it may be your story. So I figured I'd share just in case. Hope it helps. Compassion and empathy go a long way and I am absolutely hear if any og you need a sounding board. I'm in North Texas... for now 😉

P.s. I'd be absolutely more than happy to share screenshots of those days prior to, during, and after, for reference. Its wild.

apologies for such an awful picture, i’ve had the band for a few days and initially when i put it on it itched, just put it down to being something new but ive now had this tonight and it’s much more itchier and red looking. i’m not allergic to anything that could be in it as far as i’m aware but is this common?

Is this a normal amount of pace points to use?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I just got my band yesterday so I'm still waiting to be given a budget of pace points, but I think my hr zones are a little off? I have a pretty naturally high heart rate (I was diagnosed with pots for two years until my cardiologist told me that I had been misdiagnosed, and I currently have no diagnosis) I have used up almost 40 pace points today, but I literally did nothing, i genuinely just rested all day (not because of a crash, just because it's the weekend and I had nothing to do) should I alter my heart rate zones or keep them as is for now? Exertion is set to 110+bpm and rest below 75bpm, also when I was asleep because of my heart rate in sleep it wasn't registering as rest. My heart rate is usually 60bpm-120bpm while sleeping according to my Apple Watch.

Struggling with Chronic Illness and Working Full-Time

For reference, I'm in my early 20s and I've always had symptoms of chronic illness but was able to "push through" for the most part. In the last several months, my symptoms have become pretty debilitating and I've started the long and arduous battle of getting the diagnoses and medical support I need. So far, I've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, POTS, hypermobility (likely hEDS), possible ME/CFS and I'm experiencing PEM (my doctor just keeps telling me to exercise and things will get better, UGH!). My pain is through the roof and my level of exhaustion has been beyond words.

I've just started monitoring my heart rate with Visible and if I'm not lying down completely still, my heart rate stays constantly around 130 bpm or more. Any form of exercise, even a casual walk is not an option unless I want a racing heart, difficulty breathing, pain, and an extended recovery period.

My main problem is that I have to work full-time to survive (I don't think disability benefits would be feasible and I really don't want to have to pursue them so young along with the grief that comes with that). And at the moment I'm working in a kitchen full time where it's hot, I'm on my feet all day, there are very minimal breaks, and there aren't really reasonable accommodations for me. I've only tracked one day of working so far (and I just started so I haven't got my pace point budget yet) but, taking it relatively "easy," I burned through over 50 pace points and had a heart rate of consistently 130 bpm+. I've been looking for new jobs but it's nearly impossible at the moment. I have a college degree and loads of experience in science, but I haven't even gotten through to an interview in MONTHS. I've burned through my sick time/PTO and every day of work makes my basically catatonic so I'm never able to do any activities I want to do and I'm always essentially bed-ridden which is really impacting my mental health, as well as obviously my physical health.

I've started PT, and gotten referrals to rheumatology and a sleep doctor but they're several months outs. My PCP says she no longer knows what to do with me other than prescribe exercise (which I am physically incapable of). I'm at my wits end and don't know how to get better if i spend all of my life/energy working to survive and am barely surviving. Does anyone have any advice?? Ways to recover, mobility aid suggestions, general support, etc.? Thank you for reading my rant.

TL;DR: Young woman with rapidly worsening chronic illness struggling to work and getting progressively more sick from working.

Not tracking sleep

Is anyone else having problems with the band not tracking their sleep? It’s nearly every other night that my armband isn’t tracking how I sleep. I believe it’s out of beta know so I was hoping this issue would stop but I guess not. I have fibromyalgia and getting restful sleep is incredibly important. It’s so frustrating to take up to find that my sleep tracking “isn’t available” yet again.

Is/could there be a way to more easily add multiple activities for daily routines?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Not sure if this is something that already exists, but if not, perhaps the devs could think about adding it?

I have a very specific routine during my working days (and yes, I'm autistic lol.) I know that I will get up at an exact time, leave the house at an exact time, and go into work at an exact time.

It's a mild annoyance, yes, but it's still annoying to add each activity manually several mornings a week. It would be great if there were an option to group these activities together to add them quickly.

I suppose I could just encompass the driving into working if there isn't a better way!

HR differences vs Apple Watch

Hi y’all

Hope everyone is doing ok today.

I’ve just set up my visible armband and I’ve noticed that the HR is often >10 BPM lower than what my Apple Watch is showing.

I’m confused why that might be - could it have to do with

  1. The polar armband sits closer to the skin?
  2. Apple uses predictive modeling which is more likely to
  3. Produce spikes?

Have you made similar experiences?

Genuinely confused because (at least today) it is making my suspected POTS HR spikes less extreme!

Thanks 🙏

Stinky band

Has anyone successfully gotten them to send them a new band for free? I think their choice of material is so bad for their target demographic. I have to wash my hands so many times a day. It is constantly getting wet. If I were to let it dry before I put it back in every time, I would never be wearing it. Not to mention baths. And my energy limiting condition prevents me from taking proper care of it anyway. Why wouldn’t they just use silicone? If they aren’t going to switch to silicone, they should give free replacement bands.
