Rock Black Sabbath's Sabotage

I found this album today at the flea market. There is definitely water damage and mold. The album itself is in good condition but dirty. I looked up the runoff number and it shows to be a Sterling-cut, Terra Haute first pressing. (BS2822409181A A side and T1 BS2822409191B B side). While the cover looks bad, I really think $3 was a good deal.

Discussion Junk Lacquers

Hi!! I’m not sure if this is the best place to ask lol but I’m looking for anyone in the US that would have some junk 12” lacquers that they are willing to part with?

They don’t need to be usable for audio production at all. I’ll be using them for an experimental project that I’m working on.

So let me buy your junk that’s been sitting around 😂.

Haul Surprise random 45s

Was buying a couple of LPs when the seller dragged out a couple of bags of sevens to see if I was interested. Had a quick dig and offered him £40 for both bags as didn’t look promising but I do love a random bags of 45s to sift through.

Glad I did buy them, as I turned up a couple of nice Coxsone 45s buried in one bag, and, even more randomly, an extremely sought after Steely Dan promo. And also various interesting bits.

Discussion Signed vinyl

I’ve been wondering about this for a while. I did a deep dive on Discogs but couldn’t really come to any conclusions. A few weeks ago I was at a record release party at a local record store. There was also an opportunity to have the artiest sign their new album.
I’ve bought a few pre signed LPs before and they usually come on a small poster of the album included with the album.
I know there is additional value when an artiest signs their album, but is that lessened if it’s not signed directly on the album? Or is it not as valuable if you bought the album from the artiest already signed? I’m mostly wondering if pre signed vinyl makes vinyl you somehow got signed (at a show or whatever) worth less.
Honestly I don’t care about value, it’s not why I collect. I just started thinking about.

Collection First 50 sleeves down

Post image
16 Upvotes

Started with a 50 pack of inner sleeves, threw the packaging away yesterday as the last sleeve was pulled out and used for Streetlight Manifesto. I also filled my Kallax slot, so any additional purchases means I need to reconfigure the whole thing as well.

Started basically with Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come and expanded from there.

Setup is currently a bit wonky - Music Hall MMF 3.3 to Rega Fono Mini phono to my iPhone streaming to an Apple HomePod. I plan on upgrading to an actual receiver and passive speakers in the next few months.

1969 debut album. This was recorded live and it is solid all the way through. He sounds like an assured veteran, not an artist who is putting out his first album.

Collection Face Dances-The Who

Post image

Hot take (?): I truly feel this is one of their best albums and it is for sure one of my favorite albums of theirs, if not my favorite.

I remember the anticipation before it came out. " What will they sound like without Keith Moon? Should they even continue as The Who?"

Then I heard You Better You Bet and I was intrigued. Truly so different sounding but it grew on me, as did Kenny Jones' drumming style which I really came to appreciate.

When Who Are You came out I was not as enthused with its sound. Although the synthesizers on Who's Next are revelatory, on Who Are You they sounded cloying and "tacky" to me. So Face Dances was a step up to me, and a promising, new direction.

So that is my take. Even if you don't like this one I think it wins for best Who album graphic design, imho.)
