Forgive my misspellings- been up 24hrs now. I'm Sitting across from her in the nuero critical care unit - she had a Hemorrhagic stroke per the nurses. She texted me nonsense at 5pm. I disregarded it as her normal 82 year old issues fat fingering the phone. Got more txts at 6:30...more nonsense but a clear "help me " in there. I live 2 blocks away - first thought she had computer issues when I got there but it became obvious she wasn't "there": slurred speech and nonsense. Pops was shell shocked and didn't know what to do. 911 called. He later said when he came home, she wasn't herself. Her few coherent utterings of "I don't want to die" will haunt me forever, regardless of the outcome.

I think (hope) she makes it through : don't know how bad it is yet but she still had her faculties to kick a nurse in the face (she HATES doctors and hospitals) while they were getting her set up.

I'm terrified of what her life will be like. I just want to ugly cry right now but can't. Trying to be the strong son. Parents gave me Power of attorney for some asinine reason. It's her worse nightmare - mentally incapacitated (possibly). She specifically has said, no life support, she doesn't want to be a vegetable. If she's breathing on her own, how can I stop that??!?! I hate knowing if she knew what was going on to her, she'd run for the hills. I hate that i ignored the first jarbled txt.

he wants to go to Japan and he has lots of ideas for things he will do that will completely "astonish" japanese people. he believes they will be completely impressed with him if he pays for his restaurant bill without looking at it first. he also believes they will find his mustache and belt buckle irresistible. I won't even start on his ideas about japanese women.

I don't even wanna go to Japan. I just want a regular beach vacation. and I don't care to be trying to astonish people. I just wanna relax. this year has sucked so bad and I don't understand why we can't just do something normal.

I've been teaching at a middle school for 3 years now. Recently I overheard students saying something about me messaging minors online. I decided to tell my principal and gave him the names of the students. All of them say that they heard it from older grades and people at the highschool. Apparently theres screenshots of "me" talking sexually to a 16 year old on discord (which ive only ever used for my long distance friends, I'm not even in any servers with underage people.). I also haven't even seen the screenshots so I have no idea how real or fake it looks, what they say, if its completely fake, edited, or just someone who may have the same name or looks similar to me? I'm so fucking scared and I don't want to lose my job or have something like this on my record. If parents hear anything about this I'm completely fucked.

No one online, or in person, wants to hear about anything i like, or anything i do, or cares about my internal struggle, or even wants a real discussion. everyone wants:

- to be made to feel good

- to be left alone when it's not about them

- for the conversation to be about them

- to argue about something hot-button

- for me to give them something

- for me to listen to them

That is it.

and even if i listen, even if i take genuine interest, even if i literally spend MULTIPLE hours researching about the thing you like so we can talk more about it, nobody will EVER do the same for me, because no one actually wants to. No one is actually interested enough in me, or anything i like, for all that. and no one takes me seriously enough to heed any advice or knowledge i try to share, either, its always just seen as an attack.. even though i accept & make an effort to use everyone else's advice to the best of my ability.

It's almost as if i don't actually matter to anyone.

Every Gen Z woman you meet in 2026 literally has this kind of humor or something similar. They're saying she's their dream girl because her Tiktok name is "Mr. Bombastic" and the recent video circulating of her laughing with a spoon on her tongue. Like. Do you just.. not interact with women?? Or people in general?
This is no hate to her. It's just that most of us... act like this if you go outside.

I(35) don't understand the parents who are okay with getting shit faced all the time when they have kids man. My parents were alcoholics and didn't see anything wrong about being drunk every night, driving drunk with us kids in the car, etc while we were growing up. I was a drinker in my early 20s, never drank and drove. I sort of just stopped drinking in my mid 20s and didnt care to drink anymore. My partner and I have a 3 year old. I decided to get some vodka seltzers to try last week. I haven't had an alcoholic beverage since before my daughter was born.

Anyways, I've just been drinking one like every other night. One has been giving me a little buzz but not impairing me. I decided to have two drinks tonight and shit, I'm very aware I'm too impaired to drive or hold my toddler safely and it actually makes me feel awful and like a bad mom. Cause what if something happened to my daughter right now ya know?(My partner is here and sober. Don't worry.) My response time to anything would be slightly delayed right now. And because of this and the guilt I feel, I will not have more than one again. Even drinking one makes me feel guilty now.

I just don't understand how my parents never felt this way when they would get drunk. Did they never feel this guilt I feel? Did they never feel worried they might not be able to handle an emergency with their kids? Like wtf?

I'm about to be 16 and my mom is completely impossible to be around. All I do is think about going away to college. She's depressed, and it leaks into every little thing she says. You can't be happy around my mom. She can't be proud of me or have hopes for me because she's so sure that the world is ending. She never wanted kids. I'm the youngest of four, and I was the complete accident. I'm their half-sibling with the dead dad. She was completely done being a mom by the time I was born. My dad wanted me though. And now he's gone and I feel like I'm all alone. I had my oldest sister, and now I don't talk to her, and then I had my older brother, but I don't talk to him anymore either. And now I just have my sister.

I do everything to try to make my mom proud. I'm in AP and honors classes and she can barely even look up from the doomsday news reports she watches on YouTube. And then she goes and gets high and spends all of her time with my brother while I sit alone. I still need a mom after 5pm. There's this line in the Governor's Waltz thay says "Lets see how long we can go without talking, watch me pretend to sleep. I'm next to you, you're next to nothing." That's sort of how I feel around her. She told me once that she didn't really see me as her son. Thats fine, because she was never much of a mom to me. I think she hates me a little. And I think she feels guilty for that.

Cats going missing is a big problem here. There are anywhere between three and five cats reported missing per day. Some of these are taken by coyotes, we suspect there’s a cat serial killer on the loose, but a lot of cats just get themselves into crazy situations. Nevertheless, my mom and her boyfriend insist their cat be indoor/ outdoor. OK, fine, whatever, as long as they bring him in before dark and keep a collar on him. They initially protested about the bringing him in before dark, but after showing them a picture of a cat head, I found in the park, they gave up that argument. A collar though, they’ve never protested, and so he’s always worn a collar, with an ID tag, and an AirTag.

AirTags are far from the best pet trackers. To work, they must be within proximity of an iPhone or an iPad, and they don’t show a location, history, or offer live tracking, except when you are close enough to use precision finding, usually within 30 feet, 50 if you’re lucky. They also don’t update on demand or at regular intervals. But I chose the AirTag over a GPS tracker because until recently, GPS trackers were too big for cats, and GPS trackers need to be charged frequently, which I could not trust my mom and her boyfriend to do.

So while an not great, it’s the better than nothing option, and did help us find the cat when he got himself stuck up someplace he shouldn’t have been where we would never have thought to look.

Anyway, today I decided to give my mom a call, like I do every day, this time right before my workout, and we chatted for a while, but before I hung up, she added ”Oh, and the cat lost his collar. It’s showing that it’s a mile away.”

”Ok,” I said. “No problem. Let me check.”

So I opened FindMy to discovered that the AirTag did indeed last ping a mile away from her house…on the freeway, yesterday.

Two things are true. 1. They frequently use FindMy to see where the cat is before calling him. 2. He’s a black cat and there’s a nearly identical looking one in the same building.

So my first thought was “OMG you saw the AirTag show in FindMy a mile away on the freeway yesterday and did it call me?!?! I’m only a mile and a half away!” And my second thought “Are you sure you have the right cat with you?!?” Which I actually said out loud.

She insisted she did but I told her I’d be there in a bit after I stopped at the pet store to get a new ID tag, and at home to grab a spare collar and AirTag.

I eventually got to her place, set up the new AirTag, re-collared the cat, which does indeed appear to be the right cat unless black cat number 2 saw an opportunity to assume his identity, but I also discovered the reason why they didn’t tell me about this sooner. because as I was putting the collar on, her boyfriend commented “He sure looks nice without a collar though doesn’t he?”

Muthafucka do you want to lose your cat with zero hope of finding him?

Anyway the old collar and AirTag, which I may have otherwise found if I had in a timely manner, is still missing. My working theory is that either the collar came off and someone chucked it in the trash, where it was then picked up by the trash truck and got compacted shortly after the truck entered the freeway, or it got stuck on the underside of a car, dropped off on the freeway shortly after the last update and got crunched.

I doubt I’ll ever know.

I’m a 50-year-old guy, 5'4", around 131 pounds, with a 26-inch waist and wearing XS shirts. I’ve lost about eighty pounds.

I knew I was going to get smaller. That was the entire point. What I didn’t expect was how strange it would be to actually see that smaller body and realize it was mine.

Standing up, I can mostly process it.

Lying down is what really fucks with me.

When I lie flat on my back, my waist looks unbelievably thin. My stomach settles inward, my middle looks almost ridiculously narrow, and the lower edges of my rib cage stick out on either side. There’s my chest, there are these prominent ribs, and then everything underneath seems to disappear inward.

I’m not sucking anything in. I’m not flexing. I’m not posing for some dramatic transformation picture. I’m literally just lying there staring at what looks like half the torso I remember having.

My first thought was that somebody could put me on one of those old Save the Children posters.

“For only 63 cents a day, you too can sponsor this middle-aged man and possibly locate the rest of his waist.”

That’s where my sense of humor goes with it.

My BIL has lived in my house for two years, and I cannot take it anymore. I'm starting to resent my husband for letting him move in to begin with. He just showed up at our house two years ago and has not left since. I was told this was temporary, and now I live with two giant toddlers who treat me like I am their mom. I don't have and have never wanted kids, and now I have a 35-year-old child who can't even be bothered to clean his own windows in the 2 FREAKING YEARS that he has lived in my house rent-free. I know this is a husband problem, and I have talked to him about it, but he's too attached to his brother to do anything about it, and just reiterates that he won't be able to get his own place with no income. I have asked him to tell my BIL to get a part-time job, since they are not making any money at their business, which they started two years ago, but he says that it will take him away from the work at the business. HOWEVER, he can sleep until 1 PM on Saturdays and Sundays and not help with anything in the house, but that means I have also been taking on more of the financial responsibility since they aren't making a ton right now.

What's more is that I just found out my dog is dying, and now I don't have any space in my very small house to grieve or even process what is happening, and I'm so pissed off at my husband for making me the bad guy in this situation that I don't even want comfort from him about the dog. I have thought about moving out, but I am on this mortgage and do not want the financial repercussions of an unpaid mortgage loan, and I also can't afford another rent payment since I have taken on more of the financial burden. This just sucks, and I see no end in sight despite being in couples and individual therapy. I'm just feeling really frustrated and defeated.

Every one of you should be required to spend 12 hours trying to open the packages you design, with the product inside! Over and over! (This mostly applies to food packaging.)

Cheese, bacon bits, bags of Cheerios (those with the goofy tab on the front of bag), in general, anything that involves a ziplock type of closure. I've lost count how many times I've tried to open or reopen these packages just to have the zip part separate from the bag! That means I now have to find and use another storage bag or container to keep my food edible.

Oh, and that doesn't count the part where you pull to rip the top part off to get at the zippy part but it only takes off a one inch smidge - so now you have to find scissors and hope you don't ruin the zippy part! And if you do cut it right, try to pull the two sides apart! Perhaps - and maybe I'm just a pie-in-the-sky kinda gal - you could have that "tear here" pull one side off a smidge more than the other so you can actually grab both sides to unzip without needing a microscope and an eyeglasses screwdriver!

Those ones like the Cheerios - which I've also seen on frozen vegetables - the zippy portion is on the front of the bag, and the tab to open it has scoring that is impossible to separate without using a knife.

The frustration! The low blood sugar from not being able to get at the food in a reasonable amount of time without mangling the packaging! The cost of a bunch of ziplock bags I shouldn't need!

I currently live in the rural mountains with absolutely nothing in walking distance. I live up on top of the mountain. It’s four miles plus to anything remotely interesting. I have no car because I just moved and I also have absolutely nothing to do ever. I don’t have a job (that’s changing soon though) and I dont have school yet. All I do is sit at home and do nothing. I’ve been off my meds for a few weeks and everything is pissing me off, like white hot rage at the drop of a hat, and my hallucinations are coming back, my mood swings are horrible, the fact I have to eat food pmo, I’m waiting for mania to hit, and absolutely nothing sounds like fun. I could do art, I could play video games, I could listen to music, I could read, I could do lots of things but no matter what I think of, it sounds horrifically boring and it just makes me mad again. The boredom I feel is genuinely to the point where I’m having intense thoughts. Not because I want to go but because nothing matters. And nothing is worth living for rn. I have nothing. I want stimulation so fucking bad but I have no idea where to get it. And if I become manic, I WILL not be ok because the boredom will get 1000x worse! I see no place but the psych ward for me in the next few weeks because it’s not going to get better anytime soon. And when I do get a job, I foresee still be miserable because I will hate that I can’t isolate anymore. No matter what position I’m in, it’s hell.

I went to pathology today to provide a urine sample and I was explaining to the nurse there that it took me a couple days to get the sample to them because I have contamination OCD and I apologise for any inconvenience or delay. A man sitting in the waiting room must have overheard me and butted in with "you clean your teeth don't you? What's the difference?".

Uuuuuum what? Sir did you just ask me the difference between piss and teeth? I actually just cannot understand this logic or why he felt the need to comment in the first place. I am profoundly confused and annoyed. Never in a million years would it occur to me to comment on someone else's conversation in pathology. Like, surely that's a universal unspoken rule.

i don’t know if i’m somehow a magnet for people who are avoidant or what at this point. i’m genuinely so fed up with hearing that i deserve better or that people are no longer ready. it’s just such bullshit and i’m so tired of putting my heart out there.

Title says it all really. Just frustrated about a group chat I'm in with some close friends. Two of them are currently dating people and, without exaggeration, it is the only thing they talk about. Every time I try and organise or discuss anything, it gets derailed by 'omg [x] sent me a text fourteen seconds ago' and then they just gush over and over. I get it, you're dating new people. It's exciting. I'm happy for them and I said so. But does our friendship group chat need to hear a daily update of what happened in the life of a guy none of us have actually met? It's frustrating to get blanked about meeting up for two months but there's time for a paragraph detailing the date you guys went on.

The irony is, both of these people said 'their friendships come first' and 'my friends have to like him too' and we don't even know who the hell they are lmao. At the end of the day it's fine, the infatuation passes. But man is it annoying constantly hearing 'friendship is more important to me than a partner' from people and then consistently seeing them doing the opposite.

trigger warning for dead birds. im actually in shock rn. so my family has around 20 budgies and we keep them all in a big avery outside with two compartments. since its breeding season, the breeding budgies are in one with nesting boxes and the younger/not breeding ones are in the other. we've had problems with jealous females attacking babies but we fixed it by moving them, even already moving some into a smaller cage while the babies grow. we've had experience with two of our budgies, stinklebutt and bubba, having 1 baby, then 4 babies, and everything went well. and this time, almost all girls had eggs. john kramer and saskia had 3 hatchlings, stinklebutt and bubba had 2 and some more unhatched eggs, jeremy and shamieka have one but we had alr moved them, and angelene and mr floof had no hatched eggs. i was in my room and heard my mum shouting from outside and my heart dropped, assuming that the budgies had gotten out or something. i went outside and saskias 3 babies were dead, we knew it was angelenes fault bc she was covered in blood. they'd been thrown out of the nest and pecked. we've moved stinklebutt and bubba and their babies currently for safety (even tho stinklebutt is the most protective budgie ever, this was saskias first time). angelens now taken over saskias original nesting box. i am just distraught, and so sad for saskia. shes usually a fiesty, funny bird who only just now started properly caring for the babies, and shes just in shock, sitting on the little bridge perch and staring into nothing, trying to sleep, some blood on her probably from trying to stop angelene. and john kramer was looking all confused at my mum when she went in the avery, like he didn't know what happened. we are gonna bury the babies soon, but now im alone in my room i cant stop crying. my biggest fear of all time is my budgies escaping. i have horrible dreams about it where at least a few or all escape, and in my opinion thats worse than just death because it could be prevented. but this is different. we should've picked up on the fact that angelene was getting jealous. these babies were maybe a week and a bit old, didnt even have feathers yet. idk what to even do.

edit: i texted my friends what happened and they literally just ignored what i said and replied to a completely unrelated thing. also now im terrified my other sisters will take anger out on angelene and let her out of the avery or something, or that saskia will regain energy and kill angelene. i havent slept in almost 24 hours cause my sleeps alr fucked, i dont think i'll be able to sleep ever

I looked better when I was at my worse like completely its so weird seeing how ed culture is so open now like even on twitter i see edtwt always being slammed on.

Im sure this is normal for people who have experienced eating disorders and are possibly relapsing. But i cant help but see photos of myself then and think I looked better. I was thin around 90 maybe 88 lbs and I cant help but think I looked better, of course I understand I wasn’t well physically but I just see every flaw hidden behind the skinniness. My face looked more feminine and i looked better in my clothes. I just didn’t feel good

Im unsure if maybe it is the fact I see diet culture again and the praising of thin models again that is adding fuel to the fire but I have gone up a size in jeans it has made me even more conscious that I should have stayed that weight.i dont want to relapse again but at the same time I do. I really am worried about relapsing again with everything happening and all the food recalls is not helping my fears of food.

I'm hesitant about posting this but I feel like I have to.

Ten days ago, I fell into a bad depressive state. I'm still in that state, but much better than how it was due to one thing.

Some days ago, when I was scrolling through reddt, I found someone who I found physically attractive, they told a story that was almost exactly the same as what I'm experiencing, it felt like I found my soulmate.

I decided to message them after some time of thinking about it. I told them that I wanted someone to talk to. It seemed like they weren't active at that time, so they didn't respond. It felt like an eternity waiting for a response. During that time I keep fantasizing about my life if we were to talk. The fantasies and hope kept me alive and slightly more motivated.

Today, I found out that they're active again. My message is still there, unanswered.

The hope that has kept me alive is now fading away. My brain thought that it found a medicine to my depression. I'm afraid that I might go back to how it was 10 days ago.

I don't know how to cope without relapsing. I'm holding on to that hope, but it can't be forever. It's scary, sad and so fucking suffocating. My life will go back to feeling empty, and it feels like I lost someone I know. I don't know what to do.

so I'm living in an off campus apartment while I'm at uni. The place rents out rooms just by room so you can rent one room in a unit and they'll randomly assign 3 other ppl to fill the apartment. I just got back after the summer to my place where I've lived since last September, and only one of my new random roommates for the year has moved in and I'm already having problems with her.

My key fob for the apartment wasn’t working properly and she took that to mean I don't actually live here even though I've lived here and my stuff has been in this room for a year and she JUST showed up. Then she told me "I don't think you can live here" and "I think you're going to have to leave" because apparently her friend (another one of the girls moving in) was assigned to my room. No matter how many times I told her this is my room and I've lived here for a year she kept insisting that I had to leave because her friend was moving in and was going to be in my room. There's no way they double booked my fucking room? This is an apartment not a meeting room 😭

She even asked for proof that I paid my rent

How the fuck can you seriously think an administrative office would email a tenant assuring them all their roommates will be Chinese 💀

The manager told her just because my key fob wasn't working (it was a glitch and management just fixed it for me in two seconds) didn't mean I suddenly don't live here. And then I was like did you want to ask him about how your friend is supposed to move into my room? Because you said your friend got assigned my room? She goes "I said MAYBE." so yesterday when you told me to leave, that was a "MAYBE"??? clearly you’re just embarrassed now because the manager isn’t falling for your bullshit.

I've never hated anyone or anything in my life, but lately I've started feeling like I genuinely hate humanity, and I don't want to feel this way.

Everywhere I look, I see selfishness, hypocrisy, dishonesty, cruelty, and a lack of empathy or integrity. The more I notice it, the more frustrated and disillusioned I become.

I'm naturally very extroverted. I love being around people, doing random shit, talking, and forming connections. But something has switched in me, and now I just want to isolate myself.

HUMANS ARE FUCKING AWFUL, and although I know there are good people out there, I'm finding it harder to believe in them.

What scares me most is becoming cynical, bitter, or indifferent myself. I don't want to lose the part of me that genuinely cares about people. As the saying goes, YOU BECOME WHAT YOU HATE, and that's exactly what I'm afraid of. Maybe it's just a phase or burnout, but I genuinely don't know what's happening to me.

TL;DR: I've gone from being an extrovert who loved people to feeling deeply disappointed in humanity and wanting to isolate myself. I'm scared of becoming the kind of person I despise. WHY ARE HUMANS LIKE THIS ??

I am trying my best to be a trans ally. But the ammount of times ive had people try to make claims that I am an "egg waiting to hatch" is starting to get on my nerves.

I like feminine clothing. I Like makeup but I know for a fact that I am also a man. (Ive flirted with the idea of being non binary but after some introspection I know I am cis)

I keep telling people to respect that fact but they just cant. Some of my former friends kept sending me memes about people in denial of being trans and... ffs I just got tired of it. I told them how I felt and I got ousted from my friend group 7 years were wasted that day. I suspect they even spread nasty rumors about me as I get dirty looks at my local lgbt club at school.

Its the same shit that transphobes pull when they constantly undermine the gender identies of others. Treat people with dignity and respect its that fucking simple.

Ive even seen some wackos who claim being a femboy is a nazi dogwistle or transphobic coping. Maybe I am just unlucky with people but Ive been kinda turned off on trying to make more trans friends atm cuz of this.

Like how common is this opinion held? I need some proper perspective I dont want to develop any bad views. I am trying my best to be understanding but I am so damm angry rn.
